"Fear in me, so deep ,it gets the best of me. the fear I fall comes face to face with me." - TRUSTcompany

2:13 pm. - Outside of Hasting Town (somewhere inn Montana) Year 2045

A boy stood in a beautiful garden with rose bushes neatly aligned along the towering walls. Trees placed were letting their orange and yellow leaves fly to the ground. It was fall, and a slight breeze that whisked in sacred land made everything look all the more magical- a regular shrine straight from Japan.

"Kaedo, age of fourteen. Expected master of the Kagemura Dynasty"

Kaedo shot his fist in front of him with a stern and quick pace.

"Power to rule, power to continue the Kagemura legacy…"

He quickly spun on the ball of his toes with his right foot and swung his leg in a crescent manner. The boy moved with amazing grace and speed making him look all the more deadly.

"But… power is not simply granted…"

He crouched slightly for a quick second, then launched himself into the air, back-flipping and landed on his hands. He then stood there, on his hands, and bent down. Again, with seemingly little effort, he pushed himself into the air, this time he was spinning vertically in a furious manner. Finally, after staying in the air for an impossible amount of time, he flipped once more and landed in a crouch position on one knee. And, with almost a depressing sigh, he let out the air he was holding. Then looked straight ahead with a cold dead stare that showed his darkened heart and struggling soul.

"Power… must be taken."

After catching his breath he headed for the shrine-like building. He started to announce he was finished, but heard some people talking. So he decided to listen in….

"…and very remarkable for his age. I mean, only fourteen and he's already passed tests that some, maybe even most of our regular…" He hesitated, "clients.. would only dream of achieving."

"I'm very aware of my son's abilities. But I'm actually worried about his seriousness. He may be the next in line for Dynasty rule, but that's years away. I think he should be enjoying life, like a regular kid. It's almost unheard of that he never even seen a girl in person before."

"What?"

"It's true. I've tried to get him to meet other people but he's always focused on his training."

"But his abilities… they are great to say in the least. He-"

"I know that! But I don't even think he's experienced joy, and happiness!"

"Sir, I think your misinterpreting what I'm saying. Your son could be the next-"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! YOU UNDERSTAND?" He shouted with consumed rage.

"Yes, sir. Forgive me to anger you. I will leave now." The other guy said calmly.

Kaedo stepped back as he heard the guy coming his way. He could hear him muttering something under his breath.

"…to hell. He needs to just kick the bucket. Why Princess Ina Juensto married an American is beyond me…"

Kaedo finally stepped up as he passed him by.

"Cousin Tujisti…" Kaedo said in a greeting tone.

Tujisti stopped and met up with the eyes of Kaedo.

"How long were you there?" He asked in an unsurprising tone.

"Long enough," The boy said with much seriousness.

"Look, your talent is immense. And I sense you could be the strongest warrior of this time. It's just your father…" He paused to grimace in disgust, while Kaedo listened patiently, "..He just doesn't realize what you could become."

Kaedo looked straight in his eyes, "I think he knows exactly what I could become."

Tujisti stared at him for a moment, then, "I see how this is. Look, he's from America, he doesn't know anything. All him and the rest of his kind are all about assumptions and backstabs. Americans are the lowest scum on Gaia Earth. But you… your not one of them. Your smart, great in training, and the best of your kind."

Kaedo sighed, "My father's two-thirds Native American, which is rare, and my mother was half Japanese, and half Irish. I am one half American, and half Japanese."

"So what's your point?" Tujisti questioned.

"I'm just saying I am of them, and one of you. But, in my opinion," he turned around, "none of it matters. If your good, your good. Ethnicity means nothing."

"Is that what you think?" He asked in an almost sneering manner.

"It is, but… Cousin, there's something I want from you."

Tujisti furrowed his eyebrows at the sudden change of subjects.

"What's that?"

"I want my father dead," Kaedo immediately resonponded.

"What?!" Tujisti jumped back in initial shock.

"I want him dead, he may be good and pure. But he's also weak, which makes him useless. I think our Dynasty can reach new heights"

Tujisti took his time to recover "…You've never experienced death before, you think you can handle it?"

Kaedo turned around and stared coldly in Tujisti's eyes for a minute, then smirked.

"There's quite a bit you don't know, Cousin."

Tujisti furrowed eyebrows in confusion, he could see Kaedo was cold… stone cold. Kaedo unsheathed a sword hidden behind him.

"Shit, maybe King Hewlett was right."

Kaedo's smirk turned into an ominous grin. Tujisti stepped back, about to flee, but Kaedo's sword glided with deadly grace it almost seemed artful. He dug the sword into Tujisti's abdomen, then pulled the sword up digging with fierce movements then. Bloody spurted out with each professional movement, and oozed down the steel blade when Kaedo rested his sword in one place for a moment. He pulled the sword out with quickness and ease. Tujisti immediately hunched over wrapping his arms around himself and fell to his knees and stared wide-eyed at the ground, slightly nodding his head as if trying to keep awake. Kaedo put the tip of his blade sharply under his chin and pushed up, forcing him to raise his head so he could look him in the eyes. Tujisti looked up with his mouth slightly gaping while blood slid down the corners of his mouth.

"…No soul…"

Kaedo frowned, then shoved sword ripping the skin, tissues, and kept going until he felt the scraping of his bone. He pulled the sword out and stepped back and watched his cousin fall lifeless to the ground. He smirked and swung his sword up til was completely vertical almost thoching his nose. He stared at his cousin's blood on his sword, then tilted his head like a confused dog not knowing what to do. Kaedo brung up his free head, grabbed the bloodened blade, clenched until his hand bled, mixing his blood with his now dead cousin. Then looked at his hand, gazing with with pleasure.

"Now… you will always be apart of me." Kaedo stated.

Shortly after Kaedo's father walked out, examined the body with a calm face, then turned to Kaedo who was cleaning his hands in a fountain.

"Job's done." Kaedo announced without looking up.

"I see, but its so-"

"Bloody? Get over it, Father. Humans bleed, that's the reality you're living in." Kaedo harshly shot.

Kaedo's father sighed then made his way to Kaedo and rested his hand on his left shoulder.

"Look, I know you know what you are. But this bloodshed has got to stop, I can't keep covering up for you. Simply eliminating someone will not change what harm they've already caused"

"Some people just need to die, people like Tujisti, he was corrupted."

"You should've consulted me first, I would've found a differ-"

Kaedo whipped around.

"Why? What would you do, talk to him? You think a few words will change a person? Father, your pathetic ways of ruling disgusts me! Democracy is dead, pity can not be allowed! Mom would not have let this horrible downfall happen! Not letting things go to hell, not letting her family's name be so horribly tarnished as it has! You didn't no anything when you took up her throne! I hate you! I hate you!" Kaedo left himself red with rage and clenching the hilt of his sword.

Kaedo's father looked down sadly and sighed bringing his hand behind him, "No more blood… will be spilled on my grounds," bringing a dagger with a black blade out, he quickly struck Kaedo in the side of his chest and pulled it out just as fast.

"You… stabbed me, you think you'd get rid of me with tha-" He heard his sword that was still in its sheath knock against the ground. He looked down at it in confusion, then brung his hand in front of him. It was trembling, but he couldn't feel it. A few seconds later he fell to his knees, he gripped his chest and started to harshly gasp for breath trying to hold on to consciousness.

"Y-you… t-traitor!"

Kaedo was gasping for air now, but waiting for a response.

"…Goodbye, son."

Present Day, Year 2061 - Montana, Hasting Town Ruins. 11:22 am

"Will I ever get to see the ending of my story? Show me what it's for, make me understand it. I've crawling in the dark, look for the answers."

- "Crawling in the Dark" Hoobastank

I woke up three weeks later in barren wasteland, ten minutes from dying. How I lived without water is still a mystery to me. I didn't die there, but right now… I wish I had…

Kaedo, now age 30 still looking as sharp as ever, though his eyes were noticeably softer, sat in the ruin of what once was his home. Shoulder length, silvered hair buried his face. He had an almost identical build to Jalan, but not as bulging. He looked down at a broken jade figurine in his hands with a slight smile.

"All these years passed… I don't know why I came here… for memories?" He smirked at the idea, "No, I was a whole different person back then, and I hope he stays in the past."

"KAAAEDOO!"

He looked up, "Hm?"

A girl of 20, Haley Starr, came in the ruins of the house, stepping over rubble. She brought a bright and cheery aura with her where ever she went. That's how she was since birth. Which is what attracted Kaedo to her.

"Kaedo, I've been lookin' fer ya! Didn't you hear me calling?" Her face was full of innocence.

Kaedo looked up and half smiled, "No, sorry. I was… thinking."

Haley gave an over-accented frown, lightly pushed a rock, which caused it to roll down the pile, bump into a wall causing a third of it to crumble. She scoffed and looked back towards Kaedo, "This place is a dump! You can think in the car, c'mon it's time to go!"

"Alright, alright. You go ahead, I'll be there in a sec."

Haley eyed him suspiciously for a second, then left. Kaedo turned his attention back to the figurine.

"Well, the past is the past. Nothing you can do to change it."

Kaedo got up and headed for the car. He took a last look at the ruins, and then turned toward the car. He could see Haley was in there nodding her head to some techno beat. As soon as Kaedo got in and shut the door, Haley lowered the music and turned to Kaedo.

"So where we going?"

Kaedo put the key in the ignition and revved the engine.

"NewLegacy."

"For what?"

"I've got some… business to take care of." Kaedo said with movie-clichéd enigmaticness.

"Jesus, who taught you to act?" Haley turned the music back up as Kaedo reared back into the dirt and speed down the road.
