Chapter.5
Time Freeze
"Princess Madilla, wake up." Madison opened her eyes. There was Danon with a tray of fruit and a drink. Madison sat up and rubbed her eyes. "W..wh..Where am I?" she asked. "You are in my castle chamber," replied Danon, as he set the tray on her lap. "Where's Taiya and Endios?" "They could be dead or alive," Danon said coldly, "We'll just have to wait and see." Taiya could be dead, thought Madison, I really went too far, I was so jealous that I became confuse and...... I hope she's alive; I must find out and apologize. "Now eat and here, drink this," said Danon, handing her a silver cup. Inside was a dark green liquid. It smelled like lemon-lime. "After I eat. I must go find Taiya. I don't really hate her. She's like my sister. I still love her," said Madison. Danon just smiled. "Alright then," and he got up. "You're not going to stop me?" "Of course not, I'll even help you look for her. But you must promise that after you find her, that you'll come back here," he said. Madison smiled and nodded. "Okay," she agreed. "Good. Now eat and rest before you go. And drink all of that juice," and he left. Madison looked at the drink. Well, she thought, it does look good. She put it up to her mouth and drank it. It felt very cold. She shook off the shivers and began eating the fruits. "He, he. I can't wait for you to meet the girl," laughed Danon. Taiya woke up to a delicious smell. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. Over by the fire was 5 pieces of fish on a large stick over the fire. There were bowls of grapes and strawberries. In the biggest bowl was water. She heard a noise. She turned to look at Sheba chewing on some fish. Endios was nowhere to be found. Taiya looked down and beside her was a robe and a bar of soap. Maybe he went to get something, thought Taiya, well I guess I'll go down and bathe, after all it's been 3 long days. She gathered the robe and soap, and headed out of the cave. Sheba followed. "Now where is a stream when you need one?" asked Taiya. Then she heard a rushing sound. It sounded like water falling. "A waterfall!" she exclaimed, "Come on Sheba!" and she ran off towards the sound with Sheba right behind. She stopped at the edge of the land. The waterfall and all the water was a rusty red color. "I wonder if this water is safe?" she asked. "Just jump in." Taiya turned around. It was Endios. His hair was wet and he had on a black robe. Taiya blushed. "Well jump in," he repeated. "But it's red," replied Taiya. "It's only red because the soil of the land is red," said Endios. "Are you sure?" asked Taiya. "I just went in," said Endios. Taiya looked at the water. "Alright, I'll try," she assured and slowly walked into the shallow end. "Hey, this feels great!" she cheered. She walked further in until she was knee deep. She began unwrapping her blanket when she realized Endios was still there. "Can't I bathe in privacy!" she yelled. "Fine, I'll be back at the cave," and he walked off. Taiya waited until he was out of sight, and unwrapped the blanket and threw it on shore. She swam in the water over to the waterfall. It was only waist deep. Taiya looked again to make sure Endios was gone and stood up under the falls. This feels nice, she thought. She picked up the bar of soap. It smelled like fresh strawberries. She lathered it up in her hands and began washing her hair. "I wish I had shampoo instead," she said. Then she began thinking about home. I wonder if mom is worrying about me, she thought. An image of her mom came into her mind. Her mom went to the refrigerator and pulled out a huge banana split. She walked over and set it down in front of a 6 yr old Taiya. Taiya immediately began eating. Her mom happily watched her. Then she put her hand on Taiya's. Taiya looked up. Her mom had tears in her eyes. "Taiya, there's something I must give you," she said. She reached into her skirt pocket and pulled out a silver chain. Whatever was on the end was hidden in her mom's clenched hand. "You see Taiya, you're ad.......". The doorbell rang. Her mom quickly put away the chain and got up to answer the door. Her mother never mentioned the necklace ever again. Taiya opened her eyes. She felt like she was being watched. She looked around but didn't see anybody. "Hello? Is somebody out there?" she asked, shaking. Then suddenly on a hill she saw a figure, in dark cloak on top of it. Taiya quickly got up and ran over to the robe and blanket. She put the robe on and starting running. when she looked back and the figure was gone. She looked around but there was no sight of the figure. Sheba was still sleeping. Taiya sat down beside her. Maybe I was just imagining things, thought Taiya. So she started fixing her hair back up into the usual style. As she was doing this, the cloaked figure watched from behind a huge boulder. Then if disappeared. Taiya finished fixing her hair. She gathered everything and got up. She bent down and gently pet Sheba. Sheba opened her eyes and rubbed her head against Taiya's legs. "Come on Sheba," said Taiya and they walked to the cave. Meanwhile else where, "I'm all ready," said Madison. Danon helped her onto the horse. There were two other horsemen with her. "You are to guard her well," declared Danon to the horsemen, "And make sure she comes back safely." The castle gates opened. "Well bye, oww!" cried Madison. A painful pressure entered her head. It was pounding. "Sure you all right princess?" asked Danon. "Yes," she answered, "I'll be going now." And with that she and the horsemen rode off. "Good," smiled Danon, "Everything is working great." Taiya entered the cave. Endios was dressed back in his silk pants and shirt. "Hurry and get dress," he said. He was in such a hurry. "What's wrong?" asked Taiya. I went on top of this cave and spotted a campfire a little away," he answered. "So what's the big deal?" "It's an casket camp. A group of warriors from Danon's army." Maybe Madison is there, thought Taiya, Madison, I miss you. A tear fell from her eye. Endios looked up and saw. "Are you okay?" he asked. Taiya quickly turned away from him. "It's nothing," she lied. Suddenly she felt warm arms wrap around her from the back. He gently rested his head against her shoulder. She blushed. "It's about your friend, isn't it?" he asked. "Yes," she answered sadly, "I'm so afraid that I'll never see her again." Then she started to cry. Endios turned her around. He raised her chin so that he could look into her eyes. "I promise you, that I'll help get her back. So stop crying." He placed her head against his chest and kissed her forehead. Taiya closed her eyes and listened to the beating of his heart. The rhythm soothed her sadness. Sheba started growling. Endios and Taiya looked up. The sound of horses was getting closer. "Let's go now," he said. "But I'm not even dressed yet," said Taiya. "No time," he repeated. He grabbed her arm, their stuff, and ran out of the cave, with Sheba right behind. They ran on top of a nearby hill and hide behind a boulder. Sure enough a small group of soldiers were riding up to the cave. There were some brown large dogs with them. "Check in there," ordered the captain. 3 soldiers went inside. "We better get going," whispered Endios. But then the soldiers came out. One of them was holding Taiya's uniform shirt. "My uniform," said Taiya. The captain looked at the clothing. "That belongs to the weird girl," said the general. He took it and held it to the dogs. Endios grabbed Taiya's hand. "We're leaving." Taiya nodded and got up after him. Sheba growled. "Shhhh!.....Sheba be quiet," Taiya whispered. Then she slipped. Endios grabbed her to stop her but a few rocks fell. The captain looked up. Taiya and Endios hide safely behind the boulder. The captain scratched his chin. "Set the dogs loose," he ordered. The dogs were unchained and started sniffing around. They were climbing up the hill. Taiya felt chills going down her back. Then it got deeper. It suddenly felt like something was crawling of her leg. She looked down. On her leg was a brown scorpion. Taiya's eyes widen, and then she screamed. "Get it off, get it off!" she yelled. Taiya stood up screaming. "They're up there!" yelled the captain. Endios put his face in his hands. "Why me," he sighed. The soldiers began firing arrows. The rest were making their way up the hill. Endios grabbed Taiya's arm and pulled her over the hill. As soon as they got to the top, they ran down the other end. "Don't let them get away!" "Can't we just fight them!" said Taiya. "They have been giving magic proof armor. Our attacks won't work," replied Endios. The captain looked at the boulder and grinned. "Push that boulder," he ordered. The soldiers began pushing. The boulder then began rolling down the hill. Endios, Taiya, and Sheba got to the bottom. There was no way out. They turned around and saw the rolling boulder. It was gaining. "That's it!" yelled Taiya, "I'm going to try." She held up her hand to the side of her face. "Wind! Stop that boulder!" she ordered. A white beam came out of her ring. The some figure as before appeared. She went head first into the boulder but nothing happened. "It didn't work," said Taiya. The boulder was getting closer and closer. Taiya backed up against the wall. "Hey Endios, since it looks like we're about to die, I like you to know something," she said. "Oh now you think it's a good time," replied Endios. "I just wanted to thank you for all your kindness and helping me," she said. Sheba ran in front of them. Taiya closed her eyes. So did Endios. "Boulder, decrease size!" The boulder than grew as small as a pebble and hit Endios on the head. Taiya and Endios opened their eyes. The soldiers looked over to where the voice came from. There were two figures on top of a cliff above Taiya and Endios. They were both women. One had long dark brown hair and maroon eyes. She was holding a long staff, with a clock attached to the top. The other woman was a little bit older. She had short green hair and purple eyes. "Who are you?" asked the captain. The older one answered, "In time, you'll soon know." "Fire your arrows!" commanded the captain. The soldiers began firing. The younger girl held up her staff. "Time Freeze!.....Take hold!" she yelled. The arrows stopped inches from Taiya's face. The older woman threw down a rope ladder. "Hurry climb up!" she said. Endios motioned Taiya to climb first. Endios followed her. "What about Sheba?" asked Yaiya. Sheba jumped on the well and dug her claws in and climbed up. "Hurry", said the younger woman, "I can't freeze time much longer!". "Lets go", said the older woman. She ran down the cliff with Taiya , Endios, and Sheba following. She led them down to two horses. She got on one. "Does one of you know how to ride?" she asked. "I do" said Endios. "Good, climb onto that other horse and you too" looking at Taiya. Endios got on and helped Taiya on behind him. Suddenly there was a loud blast. Than the other women appeared from the cliff and jumped onto the horse with the other women."YA" yelled the younger women girl and off they went. Endios did the same and soon they were right behind the two women. The general looked around. Only he and his soldiers were left. "Dannon isn't going to like this." He said. He told the soldiers to move out and off they went. It was sundown when Taiya and the others stop. The women got down from their horse and walked over to a nearby tree. The older women tied the horse up to the tree while the younger women walked over to Endios and Taiya. "I'm so glad we got to you before they could kill you" she said. "Who are you?" asked Taiya. "I'm Sasha, the element of time. Endios was shocked. Taiya instead stepped forward. "This is Endios, the element of fire and I am Taiya, the element of wind." Sasha gasped; "I can't believe it!" she bowed down in front of Taiya. "I have been waiting a long time for this," she said. "For what?" asked Taiya? "To meet you, the Star Princess!".
