Chapter Two:

Haru awoke at just the right time. It was 7:15 and his first real day at Saturn High.

He rubbed his eyes, giving a small groan and looked down. He was still wearing his old school clothes.

“Guess I was sleepy.” He said with a small chuckle as he stood up and looked in his closet. He picked out the same outfit, walked into the bathroom, washed up and came out.

He looked in the mirror to adjust his tie and then, walked into the living room. He never noticed it the first day, but all his books were sitting on the table.

“How convenient.” He said as he walked over. Thin brown lace was wrapped around the two piles of books and a small schedule was taped to the top.

Haru checked his classes for the day. Monday was and average day; Honors Science, Study Hall, English, Study Hall, Lunch, Honors Math, Tennis, and Foreign History.

“This shouldn't be that bad.” Haru said as he choose the right books. He stopped at the mirror by the door and checked his hair. After a small smile, he walked out, locking the door.
----0-----

“Haru!” A voice yelled in the Lunch room. Haru had gotten his food already, sat his books in the Standby Area, and was looking for his friends.

He looked for the voice and noticed they were at the same table. Sakura was also standing up, her pink hair loose and flowing now.

Haru gave a smile and waved, symbolizing he saw them.

He walked over to the table and sat his food down first.

“Good morning, Ai. Good Morning Sakura.” He said nodding to both.

“Good morning Haru.” Both teens said together.

Haru slid into his chair and started eating the food. It was amazing. The sushi, ell roll of course, was delicious. The rice was nice and warm and the tea had just the right concentration to it to give you a small lift, but to also keep the wonderful calming felling.

“Haru, you have good eating habits and all, but if you keep eating sushi, ell roll to be more precise every day your going to kill yourself.” Ai said with a small laugh as he brushed some silver locks out of his eyes.

“I know, I promise I wont eat Ell roll for a whole day, Ai.” Haru said, stuffing another piece in his mouth.

Sakura and Haru knew the real reason why he ate so much Ell roll. He grew in a house of five kids as an orphan. The family never had much money and he went hungry a lot of the nights. The family believed in a very twisted hierarchy in the family; the oldest child got all the things, food, toys, education and so the status went down each child and Haru was the last meaning he got the left over food and such.

If it wasn't for him meting Sakura at school he most likely would have starved to death Now, he could eat as much as he wanted.

“Konnichiwa, Haru-kun.” A voice said from behind.

Haru almost swallowed his ell roll he had in his mouth. He gave a slight cough and turned around.

Standing there was Hatori Komigawa. The junior from before. His brown hair was now slightly in a style of having bangs in the front and being longer in the back then in the back.

“Ko…Konnichiwa, Hatori-kun.” Haru said quickly standing up. He was about an inch or so shorter then Hatori.

“How are you doing?” Hatori asked, completely not noticing (or ignoring) the pink haired girl with hearts in her eyes.

“I'm doing well…” Haru said felling a blush coming on. He quickly looked down at the ground, trying not to embarrass himself.

/Why am I blushing?/ Haru thought.

/It is possible you wish to mate with him, Sir. Haru. / His other demon, Titan said in his head.

Haru decided to ignore that statement. For one, Titan was always trying to act sophisticated and use complicated sentences on him. It never worked, but he didn't fell like coming with a comeback just as clever.

“Arigato….for last night…” Haru decided to say.

“Oh it was no problem. The least I could do since it was my fault.” Hatori said with a wave of his hand and a smile.

Voices behind Hatori caught the junior's attention, causing him to turn around.

“Well looks like my friends are calling me, Haru. See you later, ne?” Hatori said as he waited for a response. He didn't move from looking at Haru.

“Ne.” Haru said with a slow nod.

Hatori gave a smile and run over to his friends. Haru stood for a moment, then went back to his food.

“Who was that?” Sakura asked Haru.

“A junior I met last night.” Haru said simply, hoping that would be enough.

He should have known better. The pinked hair female never stopped talking about Haru's love life.

“You met him last night? Where?” Ai asked.

“He was getting ice.” Haru said.

“And what were you thanking him for?” Sakura asked, pulling out a small notepad.

“I ran into his ice bucket and it made me bleed.” Haru said, slowly eating his ell roll.

“Well, for situation I give you a 7. The whole scene thing it over used. For being so kawaii I give you a 10. And for after recovery I give you a 9. At least you weren't all meek and mumble.” She said as she scribbled on the pad.

“Which comes to grand total of 9!” she said, drawing a small nine on the note pad.

“You can do a lot more with this, situation Haru.” She said.

Ai was completely dumbstruck. What in the world was happening? Did his best friend like guys? No…no way!

Haru gave a fake laugh. He checked his watch. It was 7:45. Cass started in 15 minutes and he really didn't know where to go. He just knew class was far away.

“Sakura, Ai I have to go.” Haru said, brushing hair out of his eyes and eating the last roll.

Sakura and Ai both nodded. “You have an Honors class first period, ne?” Ai asked.

Haru gave a nod. “I'll see you two 4th period.” He said, running off and giving a wave.

Haru ran to the Standby area and gave his number to the clerk. She nodded and went to get his books and his laptop.

“Arigato.” He said giving a small bow and running down the halls.

He stopped for a second, looking at his map. He needed to reach classroom RS1431. that was not in the RT building, so it must be next door.

“I only have ten minutes.” He said, looking at the digital clock in the hallway. He really couldn't be late.

/You know….I am here for more then fighting./ Orion said in his head hinting.

Haru gave a groan. That might be the only way.

“Fine.” He said to himself as he walked down the hall. He would need an empty classroom or something if he was going to pull this off.

And just to his luck, the bathroom was empty.

Haru slowly closed the door and locked it but putting a stop in the door. If someone pushed it hard enough, then it would open but that would take some time.

Haru closed his eyes and took three deep breathes. He paused for a moment and then;

“The angel of the Light, Angel of Dark come forth to one ruling forth and take me to me desired destination.” Haru spoke softly.

The wind in the bathroom kicked up and the windows began to shake like a thunder storm. Small white and black feathers came out of no where and twirled around Haru in a tornado. The storm then combined into an orb of white and black. The orb shrunk small and with a burst, the only reminisce of the situation was a flurry of feathers on the ground.

The same burst appeared under a staircase, three feet from the room. Haru collapsed to his knees, huffing.

/You…you didn't tell me it…it would take so much out of me.../ Haru thought between pants.

/Must have slipped my mind./ Orion said.

/Sure it did./ Haru said, shifting the weight of the books on his shoulders.

He walked about three doors down and found the proper room.

“Right on time.” He said, looking at the clock behind him. It read 7:58.

Haru opened the door and walked in, surprised to see the size of the class. It was around 20 people larger then he thought it would be.

Haru noticed a duo table one level back where no one was sitting.

“Ah, Mr. Ochiratsu.” The teacher said with a smile. He had a thick British accent, slick blonde hair that was pulled back, and deep gray eyes.

“Konnichiwa, Wills-san.” Haru said with a nod.

Mr. Wills gave a nod. “You are just on time, just what I like in a student. Please, sit down.” He said.

Haru gave a bow and walked back to his table. He reached for his laptop bag and pulled it out; a sleek silver with a pure black Japanese character for “Demon” in the center, outlined in red.

He flipped the top up and quickly tapped in his password. He clicked on a word document and listed the name, “Honors Chemistry notes.”

“May I sit here?” a voice said.

Haru gave a nod of approval, not really paying attention to who it was. Some random person no doubt.

“Thank you, Haru-kun.” The voice said.

Haru stopped typing. He was about to ask how the man knew his name, but he turned around in time to see who it was.

“Oh! Hatori-kun.” Haru said, surprised.

“I am surprised that you attend Honor classes.” The brown haired teen said, pulling out his own laptop. It was blue with silver outlining. It said on the cover “Toshiba”.

“Its only because of my Test scores.” Haru said, holding his tone.

“You must have gotten very close to 1000 points.” Hatori said as the teacher started to talk.

/987, yes./ Haru thought with a small smile. His fingers started to tap on the keyboard very quickly.

The one hour and fifteen minute class was extremely slow. The first 45 minutes wee used telling the grading criteria and other things such as etiquette, finals, and extra credit. The next thirty minutes were to be used reading over the book and taking notes on things like that.

Haru got through about twenty pages with good enough notes to take a test and get a B on it.

“So, do you like the Honors system?” Hatori asked as everyone gather their books.

Haru gave a quick nod. “It seems very good and efficient. The book is nice and challenging. I took notes but I will have to read those pages over again if I hope to get it completely.” Haru said as he swung the bag over his shoulder.

“I see. So what class do you have next?” Hatori asked.

“Study Hall. Room AB1411 I believe.” Haru said, reaching into his bag to pull out his schedule. Yep, it was that room.

“That's the second library. I have my study hall there to.” Hatori said, giving Haru a smile.

Haru hid his face quickly.

“Would you mind showing me to the class?” Haru asked slowly.

Hatori blinked and looked at him. This boy got shy a lot… But he was very smart…and cute to….

“Sure.” Hatori said.
/I wonder if he likes me…/ Hatori thought as he straighten up his bag. He actually just wanted to get a better look at the boy and he was cute.

Haru stood there his clothes slightly not neat but still in a totally formal pattern. His light blue hair that fell was slightly over his shoulder and behind his back. His pair of tennis shoes (which the were allowed to wear for the first week of school, usually you could only wear causal on Friday) were slightly untied and his laces were in a flurry. And his violet eyes…we so…..amazing. They were slightly large, like an innocent boys, but had the coldness and strength of a man, as if he had had a hard life.

/This boy having a hard life? That's funny./ Hatori thought.

“Ready.” Hatori said with a smile. He quickly, without waiting for the boy he grabbed his hand and gently pulled him down the hall.

Haru gave a small “epp!” Sound as the teen pulled him. Was he…..touching him?

/This will be interesting./ Hatori thought with a smile. It was odd how, since no one was paying attention to them (Come now, who wouldn't have known that Hatori was gay? He had been going to this school for three years!), Haru was still blushing.

Hatori gave an inward smile.

----0-----
“Thank you, Hatori-kun.” Haru said as they sat down at a small round oak table. Many people were in this study hall. Some from class, others in the same study, and some just taking free time.

“Haru, would you please call me Hatori? I think we have known each other long enough for you to drop the formalities.” Hatori said with a laugh as he picked out a book from the shelve.

“But we have only known each other for a few hours.” Haru said, blinking questionably.

Hatori couldn't contain his laughter. Haru was so…so…innocent, no… naïve was the right word. But that just added to his kawaii.

“So would you rather call me Sir. Hatori?” Hatori said, resting his chin on his hang. He slightly tilted his head to the side and smiled.

“Ummm which one would make you happier?” Haru asked.

Hatori blinked. Someone asking him what will make him happier? No one had ever said that before. Who asked what other people thought any more?

“You can call me Hatori. Just plain old Hatori.” Hatori said with another smile.

Haru blushed and looked down at the ground. He looked down and for the first time, noticed that there was a ripple in color on his pants.

“Are you ok, Haru?” Hatori asked, giving a small tap on the teens head.

“Oh. Gomen-Nasai.” Haru said with a small fake smile.

“Its ok Haru. You don't have to applogize about everything.” Hatori said with a wave as he looked up. Everyone was starting to walk out.

“We should go. Class is over.” Hatori said gathering up his books.

“Thank you Hatori for showing me here.” Haru said with a small smile once again.

/How is he so nice?/ Hatori thought, looking at the teen.

“Its ok.” Hatori said with a small smile once again.

“You better get to your next class.” Hatori said with a small push of the boy.

“I think your class is in room RW11134, ne?” Hatori asked a sthe two teens reached the hallway. It was pretty quiet since most people had this as free period. Even Hatori had this as a free period.

“Yes. I should.” Haru said shifting the weight of his bag.

“Well, see you.” Hatori said walking away from the teen.

“Bye, Hatori.” Haru said. He almost put “kun” at the end of his sentence but held it back.

Haru gave a sigh. Why was he so nervous around Hatori-kun? Why couldn't he just be himself? For the first time he actually cared what someone thought about him.

/Maybe you are right Titan…./ He thought quietly considering his options. He smiled and took one step towards his class when a drain of energy surged through his body.

/What?/ He thought as he collapsed to his knees. Pain surrounded his essence causing him to waver and feel queasy.

/Haru!/ He heard Orion yelled.

/Sir Haru? / Titan said with concern.

But the voices of his inner demons were beginning to drown out. It was getting harder and harder for him to hear the voices. Everything around him was getting darker, fuzzier, less clear and his sense of touch was turning only into a small tingle.

Haru looked up. Even the sunlight felt like a thousand knives were piecing his brain.

A voice, muffled by his pain floated through his mind. He looked towards the voice and saw, through blurred and tossing vision, a figure running towards him.

He smiled. He was always safe and never had to worry now since he had a friend. He was always safe, no matter where he was.

With all his energy, Haru stood up. He could leave all the burden of carrying him on his savior. He had to help a little… it was just his way.

“Sa…Sakura….Sakura-chan…” He said with a small gasp as his eyes rolled into the back on his head and he fell forward.

The last thing Haru felt were warm hands grasping him before he hit the ground and a scent that didn't smell like Sakura's flowery perfume. It felt more like… the smell of a strong flower. Not a nasty smell, but a type of pleasant smell that tingles your nose.

The hands were not Sakura's, but Hatori's. He had slid to the ground and outstretched his hands just in time to catch the boy.

“I've got you, Haru.” He said when he felts the boy's body relax. He didn't mind that the boy thought he was Sakura. They seemed to have a very strong relationship. He was happy he could help someone. It wasn't enough to repent for his past sins though.

He slowly stood up, holding the small but strong teens body in his hand. His dorm wasn't far away, maybe a block or so.

“That is the best thing.” He said as he shifted the boy's weight in his arms. He looked down and smiled. Some of Haru's light blue hair had fallen over his eyes. He had a small sweat, but his mouth was slightly ajar and he still looked ever so peaceful.

“Sleep, my little angel.” Hatori said with a smile. If Haru was alright, that was all that mattered.

He started the trek back to his room.
---0----

A young girl with pure black hair and also black eyes sat on her heels in her dorm room. She was missing algebra II, but she didn't care, something more important had come up.

Her hands were clasp over a small orb that was humming and vibrating. Here eyes were tightly closed as she focused her energy into the item.

Then, like a memory, it all came to her head and the words just poured out. Nothing could stop her. She just kept on speaking.

When she was finished, she waved her hand over the orb and looked at her handy work. She smiled. The boy was in pain. The duo-demon was felling the curse.

“This should be fun.” She said as he stood up to get some milk. He would admire her handiwork in a few moments.
