Chapter 3: Cran the Hunter Devil

Vaki and Drel scavenge for supplies and weapons. Vaki finds his bow and arrows as Drel searches for his hammer, Luther. Zinx stands on a boulder and watches for any signs of life. Speak of the Devil. In the distance, Zinx spots a figure. Zinx wags his fox tail in seeing life but then, a dagger nearly pegs his ear. From 50 meters away, a mysterious foe has nearly killed Zinx! Zinx panics.

"Vaki! Drel! We have company!" Zinx shouts.

"That's good, right." Drel asks.

"No, it's a foe; it nearly killed me with a dagger!" Zinx panics.

Vaki quickly jumps on a boulder next to Zinx, with his bow and arrow ready.

"Let's kill this bastard!" Vaki shouts as he fires an arrow at the blurry figure.

Cran easily dodges it and runs in amazing speed toward Zinx and Vaki. Cran whips out a dagger and tosses it but it is deflected with Vaki's arrow. Drel greets the two with Luther.

"I smash his head! Come on Zinx, like my dad use to say, CHARGE!" Drel shouted as the two leaps from the boulder to go head to head with Cran.

Cran dodges an earth-shattering blow from Drel's hammer and avoids Zinx's sword. Taking out a longer dagger, Zinx and Cran slash, blade to blade. A shockwave forms from the power of Cran's blow. Slicing one of Vaki's arrows with his dagger, Cran kicks and pins Zinx to a rock and with one hand holding Zinx's neck, forcing him to drop his sword, Cran uses his free hand to wrap his fingers around Drel's throat.

"Are you Zinx?" he asks Drel.

"No…I am…" Zinx says, choking.

"Well, looks like my hunt has ended, prepare to…" before Cran could finish, the whistle of Vaki's arrow strikes Cran's back, into his spine, so he's forced to drop Zinx and Drel.

Pulling out the arrow, Cran turns to Vaki but soon, he looks down as feeling something pass through his body and sees a bloody sword tip sticking out of his stomach, behind him, Zinx has his sword inside Cran's back and twists the blade so it does a lot more damage. Cran coughs out some blood as blood gushes from his wound. Then with the memory of his mother's death, with a rage like no other, Zinx twists his sword and moves it upward so it cuts Cran from stomach to head. The blood sheds more as the bloody body falls the ground.

"Whoa, jeez Zinx, you really did a number on him." Drel points at Cran.

"I sensed something, like…he had something to do with Taloko. It was my rage; it took over me, look what it did." Zinx looks at his doing.

"Who gives a damn! He must be a spawn of the Book of Hellfire, if Taloko can give life from the dark aura of the Hellfire, imagine what will happen if he got his hands on the Elemonts!" Vaki pointed out.

"The Elemonts! I forgot! We need to collect them, come on guys!" Zinx shouts in panic and the three head towards Blazera, the Valley of Flame.

Meanwhile, in Taloko's Palace, Taloko stares at the dark manner cloud, staring at his fallen henchman.

"Oh well, there's a lot more where that came from." Taloko says as he turns to his Book which is gone!

Taloko panics and hears a whistle, on a balcony across from Taloko's chamber, Ralo sits with the Book of Hellfire in his hand.

"Looking for this," Ralo says with a smile.

"Damn you! Give that back!" Taloko shouts.

"No chance, you are searching for the page that reads the secret to causing the apocalypse. Well, I can't let that happen." Ralo says as he takes a knife and tries to stab the Book but the knife bounces off and falls into the darkness below.

"A mere knife can't destroy the Book of Hellfire, only the Destiny Blade can defeat its power." Taloko laughs.

"Shit…" Ralo says as the Book of Hellfire uses a shockwave-like blast that knocks Ralo off the balcony and Ralo screams as he falls down, down deep into the shadowy fall.

Taloko retrieves the Book and realizes that the Elemont of Peaks is gone!

"That damn ling! He used the Book as a distraction so he took the Elemont and he…fell down into the fall with it! NO! Damnit! Damnit! NOOOO!!!" Taloko screams.

As Taloko sobs, Ralo falls and hits some rocks and lands on the ground. But he can hardly get up but he stands up while holding the stone wall and takes out the Elemont of Peaks.

"Taloko…what a dick…" Ralo says as he passes out and falls and thinks some thoughts before being fully unconscious.

"Keep fighting, Zinx, our paths will cross. This may be a long trip, but Taloko isn't invincible...you, Vaki, and Drel better collect those Elemonts, because I have one that will be the key…to find the Destiny Blade…." Ralo then closes his eyes and his world goes dark…
