Chapter 3: Unknown

I was still in this blue portal, where the whole strange thing began, I met an unknown man in robes, and then next thing I know, I choose my powers and I get transferred to a strange place!

When I came to, I was struggling a bit due to the fall that woke me, I felt like my head was all groggy and all that.

"Ow.. My aching-- Where am I?"

I looked around my surroundings, it looked like some sort of junk yard. What was I doing HERE? Now I know this certainly wasn't home, god I wish this was a dream. I tested my theory by pinching my face,

"OW!"

I was right, it wasn't a dream. Why did I come here for? ..That's right! That Man in Robes made me come here through a portal, and.... ..

....Thats all I can remember, everything else was blank.

"What should I do now?"

One thing that the Robe guy told me: There are many dangers ahead.
So I looked at my surroundings once more to look for a weapon of some sort, and then, I found something in the junk. I found what seems like a Sewer pipe.

"Better than nothing I suppose."

I picked up the pipe from the trash and sheathed it in my belt, where I might need it.. And speak of the devil! I saw 2 men coming out from behind the pile of trash, where they look like trouble.

"Hmm? Who're you 2?" I said, putting my hand on my pipe just in case.

"I think you should know that already punk! We're here for your money. Now cough it up or go to hell!" The 1st one threatened me.

Crooks, nothing but a bunch of brainless crooks, can't they pick up better lines?

"Never."

"What did you say to us!?" The 2nd one said.

"You heard me, besides, I have nothing of value."

"Why you little shit!" The 1st thug took out a knife and charged right at me, I unsheathed my pipe and hit his hand so hard I broke his hand, thus, dropping his knife.

"Argh! You son of a bitch! How dare you do that to my brother!" The 2nd one said and charged me at the same tactic.

"Don't you ever learn..."

This time, without much effort, I jumped in the air, dodging his knife attack, and I slammed my pipe right to his head, causing it to crack.

"B-Brother! Argh, my hand.. You got lucky you fucker! 'Cause next time, you won't get off so lucky!"

The 1st thug took the 2nd one and ran off. Huh, for some reason, I didn't feel like I had fear in me, like I was confident I would win. Not bad for a first field test, I guess those staff lessons at my karate school paid off. I sheathed my pipe, and found the entrance where to leave this junkyard. I looked around, it looked like I was in a city of some sort. But it looked strangely familiar.. I guess my memories of my town is bringing it here, deja vu I guess... Anyway, I had to find out where I was, or what this was. I asked a nearby civilian.

"Uh, excuse me, do you happen to know what this place is? I, er, was out of the country, and I somehow got lost." I asked.

"Out of the country eh? And lost you say? This is jump city, its full of crimes here, but with the Teen titans here, its no problem to live in." He answered politely.

...The Teen Titans? Could it be-- nah, it can't be.

"Uh, thank you." I said my goodbyes and left. Lets see.. I had to figure out how to get back home, but I dunno where "here" is! And most of all, I only had like $100 (For emergency reasons), so I had limitted money here.. Argh, my head.. I guess I haven't gotten rid of this headache. I decided it was time to get me a drink of water, it would calm my headache down a bit.. But then, I heard something growl. It came from my stomache.

"Great, now I'm getting hungry all of a sudden? Whats gotten into my body.. ah!"

Now that I think about it, I never ate since my burnout incident. I guess that explains it.. I looked around, and I saw a small cafe' near here, it was just 1 block away. I walked to it for a minute or 2.

The cafe' seemed pretty decent, an outside view, with some pretty menus. I took my seat, and looked at the menu... I see that the prices here are cheap, which is good. Just then, I heard the waiter come.

"May I take your order sir?"

I looked at the menu and decided.

"Yes, I'll just have a glass of water, and just a small burger." I told the waiter.

"Very well sir, I will be right with you in 10 or more minutes."

He nodded, and left to fix the meal. But just then, I heard voices behind me, something conspicuous.

"It sounds like... Someones plotting something."

When I looked back, I saw 3 characters, one strong, one tiny, and one.. just plain weird. I adjusted my hearing to hear what they were doing.

"--Don't care what you do, I suggest we attack the place full force." The big one said.

"No way, I'm hacking into the system Slimeball!" The Tiny one said.

"No! Brother blood told us to attack the Teen Titan's tower by planning a sneak attack! We can't ignore his orders." The Weird one said.

Hold on here, planning to attack something? I couldn't hear the last part, it was -something- tower, it sounded important. I just shrugged and just read a newspaper I seem to find on a nearby seat. I read the front page-- What the!? The front page looked like those scruffy characters behind me! It read:

Jinx, Bad luck's nightmare.
Mammoth, the ruthless.
And Gizmo, the hacker, have created many crimes in Jump City. Last night they robbed a bank of over 2 million dollars, but their plan was foiled by the heroes: The Teen Titans. But the HIVE members escaped after the battle. More information will be distributed in the next day.


What the hell!? Criminals are behind my seat! I decided to listen in more.

"--like a good idea." The big one said.
"No problem here, Lets get their Gummy butts killed!"
"See? If you listen to me, nothing will go wrong."

I got my water, and sipped it real quick. I guess I figured out what they were planning, they're trying to overthrow Teen Tower! I need to stop them somehow.. I don't think my pipe can outlast these criminals. Now lets see... Ah! My magic! It might work. Might as well try.

"Hey! HIVE losers!" I yelled.

"Huh?" Jinx yelped.
"Eh?" Gizmo yelped.
"What in the--?" Mammoth yelped.

"Fire!" I chanted.

A fireball more of 2 feet was blasted from my hand and went right into Gizmo's tiny chest, he was blown away by the blast, but due to his intelligence, He somehow used something to deflect my attack.

"Whos the new kid?" Jinx replied.
"I don't know, but I feel like pounding someone now." Mammoth replied.
"Ow ow OW! That burns you Lame-brain! Now feel how it feels against The Hive!" Gizmo said in agony.

"...Oh shit." And I don't even have a backup plan! I guess I had no choice but to take out my pipe, but by doing so, Jinx used some sort of Black magic to bend my pipe in half. And all I ended up doing was throwing the pipe at them, but that was in vain, because when I did, the pipe just dropped when Jinx used her powers again. I was in deep crap now.. I guess theres no choice but to..

"Attack plan Alpha!"

RUN!!!! I ran away from them, but they were right on my tail, I took a right into a nearby alley, but to no avail, I ran into a brick wall, and I can't even scale it! I was trapped, trapped like a mouse in a cage, I turned around, and they were right there. This is not good.

"You are so going to be dead once I kill you for giving me this burn!" Gizmo said.
"I will Smash you!" Mammoth replied.
"You ran into some bad luck now kid." Jinx said.

I was doomed, I was trapped, I was worried what they'd do to me, I was scared of my wits! Someone.. anyone.. HELP ME!!!!

Just then, an earthquake formed, everyone panicked, even me. And then, it just suddenly stopped... Everything did, the villains, the sky, everything, but only 1 figure stood there... It was.. The man in the robes.
