Angelina frowned and slowly opened her eyes when “Don't Stop Believing” by Journey blasted from the alarm clock. She rolled over to hit the Off button and smiled slightly. Dan had tampered with her alarm clock… again. She looked over to his side of the bed and faked a scowl to laugh at Dan, but no one was there to receive her glare. Her glare turned into a frown, “Dan?” she called while yawning and when there was no reply, she shouted, “DAN?!”

“WHAT?” Dan shouted back with a small yawn. He was in the kitchen fixing Angelina breakfast. He hadn't been able to sleep the rest of the day and was glad that their windows were covered so no light came into their small living room area.

Angelina grinned, glad that he hadn't snuck out to hang with his “buds”. She got up and lazily made her way to the kitchen. “Morning…. Er… Night….,” she mumbled with a shrug as she leaned in to give him their “morning” hug.

“Morning,” Dan said with a chuckle, he kissed her head. “Hmm. Hash browns sound good?”

Angelina grinned, not many guys she knew actually cooked, “Yummy. Don't forget the ketchup!”

Dan laughed, “Course not, can't forget the Ketchup…” he thought it was odd that Angelina liked Ketchup with her hash browns, but he wasn't going to argue. He transferred the hash browns from the frying pan onto a plate and grabbed a bottle of Ketchup and put them on their small table so Angelina could eat it.

Angelina sat down at the table, added some Ketchup to her hash browns and looked up at Dan, “Aren't you going to eat?”

Dan raised his glass full of crimson red liquid up, “Got all I need here,” he said while slowly swishing the liquid around in the glass.

Angelina wrinkled her nose and made a sort of disgusted look on her face. She didn't understand why Dan was on protein shakes… He was skinny enough already, but he insisted on it… She took a bite of her hash browns and said “Ugh... Meat…” Angelina was a vegetarian and didn't like meat. She had bugged Dan before about it, but he never listened, so she stopped pushing the issue.

Dan laughed, “Sorry…” he said, “You're lucky that she hasn't questioned the drinks you have… Though, they do look a lot like protein shakes… Except they're super runny… You could try to break the news to her…” he thought to himself. Then he shook his head, he couldn't tell her now, Angelina looked too happy. Time to change the subject, “Hey, it's our day off… So, mind if I hang with the guys?”

Angelina wrinkled her nose again as she took another bite of her breakfast. After swallowing she said, “Depends on which “guys” you want to hang out with… Sides, I thought we were spending the day together.”

Dan thought for a second, “Er… We still can spend the day together… and the guys I had in mind were Chris, Doug, and Josh…”

Angelina perked up when he mentioned this group of friends names, “Are you thinking on having a jam session? Sure… But only if I can come watch!” she said with a grin. She loved the fact that Dan was in a band.

In fact, Chris was the mutual friend of theirs who introduced the two about three years ago. He introduced them at one of the band's concerts on Angelina's 18th birthday. Chris gave her special treatment that day: front row and backstage passes. He still reminds them to this day that he was the one who helped start their relationship. The few times he could get a good view of either of them over his drum set, they were looking at each other.

Dan grinned, “I'm sure Chris won't mind… I'll have to ask Doug and Josh, but they shouldn't mind either. Let me call Chris first and ask about a band practice, ok?”

Angelina nodded and finished her breakfast while Dan went into the other room and called Chris. “So… What'd he say?” Angelina asked when Dan came back into the kitchen.

“Looks like Doug and Josh can't come over, but Chris said he doesn't mind having us over,” said Dan with a smile.

Angelina nodded with a smile, “Yup, just like old times,” she headed off to the bedroom to change into some clothes.

“Except, things are better now,” he whispered to himself with a slight smile. There were a few times when he and Angelina were at Chris' house before the two were a couple. He had Chris invite Angelina over so he could get to know her better. He crept into their bedroom and went “BOO!” to startle Angelina.

“ARG!” Angelina covered herself, even though she was in a bra and jeans. She glared at Dan, “Not funny!” She hurried up and put on her black shirt that says “Rock on” with the outline of a hand doing the rock sign.

Dan chuckled with a small smirk, “Not like I haven't seen it all before…. Huh… So, I did good picking that out for ya?” he said while motioning to her shirt.

“Yeah... I know you've seen it all… but still! Privacy Dan! And yes, I love this shirt…” Angelina paused, she had almost forgotten Dan got this shirt for her, it was the first present he got for her. She was surprised he got the correct size. He bought it the night they met because Chris told him it was her birthday. She smiled slightly at the memory and tilted her head while looking at Dan, “You can be full of yourself sometimes, ya know that?”

Dan grinned and nodded in agreement, “I thought you already knew that.”

Angelina rolled her eyes because she knew they weren't getting anywhere fast, so she decided to move the conversation forward. “Anyway... is that what you're wearing to Chris'?”

Dan looked down at his pants from yesterday and his shirt from the day before, “Er… yeah?”

“Please get some clean clothes?” Angelina pleaded.

“Alright… Fine,” Dan went over to their closet and came out with another shirt and jeans. He began to change in front of Angelina, who grabbed her purse and cell phone before heading out of her bedroom. Dan laughed, “Just a second, and we can go!” He quickly changed and grabbed his cell phone as well as his guitar and gear to play. He followed Angelina out to the car. “So, any better?” he asked.

Angelina looked him up and down in the driver's seat, she didn't quite trust him so she leaned over and cautiously took a small whiff of his shirt. “Hmm…. It smells clean…” she narrowed her eyes at him, “Fine, you pass the test.. But only cause we're going to Chris' place… And he's another guy… So…”

Dan laughed as he started the car, “The Sufferer and the Witness” by Rise Against blaring from their CD player.

“So, when do I get my next guitar lesson from you?” Angelina asked while nodding her head to the song “Ready To Fall”.

Dan shrugged slightly, “Maybe after we hang out with Chris…. Weren't we supposed to do something else?”

Angelina thought for a moment, “Er… Oh! Right… We were going to get a new mattress… But those places are usually closed at like nine o'clock and it's already going on to 10…”

Dan scrunched his nose up, he tended to have bad memory at times, “All well, we can try again next week... We should make a sticky note t remind ourselves about it…”

Angelina laughed, “Um, sorry, but I don't have any with me…” she shook her head at one of Dan's less intelligent moments.

Dan rolled his eyes, “Well soooo-rrrrry,” he said as their car pulled into Chris' driveway.
