Angelina finished drying herself after her shower once she finally got Dan out of the bathroom. She wrapped the towel around herself, walked to their bedroom, got some clean clothes, and put them on. She combed out her hair quickly and snuck into their living room where she could see Dan's spikey head over the seat's back.

“Boo,” Angelina whispered into Dan's ear.

Dan jumped slightly on the inside but didn't flinch physically. He thought it was odd how Angelina was the only human who he couldn't sense until the last second when she snuck up on him. He grinned and pulled her down into his lap, “You should know by now that you can't sneak up on me.”

“And why not?” asked Angelina with a smile, she leaned in and gave Dan a kiss on the lips.

Dan shook his head and smiled, he loved it when she pretended to be naïve, “I believe you already know the answer to that question.”

Angelina smiled, “And what if I don't?”

Dan smirked, “Well then….” he said before making her stand up, “I'll have to remind you.” He picked Angelina up and took her to their bedroom and tossed her onto the bed.

Angelina scrunched her nose and sat up before saying, “We really need a new mattress in order for that to work for us…” she smiled and laughed slightly.

Dan came down on the mattress and nodded, “You're right… Let's buy a new one tomorrow…” he leaned in and kissed Angelina.

Angelina smiled up at him and kissed him back, “We really shouldn't do this before bed…” she said with a slight laugh.

“Aww, but it'll make us ready for sleep,” Dan said as his hand moved down her face to make her look him in the eyes and he did his best pout.

Angelina smiled and giggled, she loved Dan's pout, but she also hated how she could almost never say no. She rolled her eyes before leaning in and giving him a kiss.

Dan grinned and softly bit Angelina's lip. He sat up and pulled her up and he started kissing her again, this time trailing down her neck, softly biting at her neck. She shuddered slightly and leaned in against Dan when he started the nibbling.

Dan slowly moved his hands under Angelina's shirt and up her back. He could feel her tense up, he could tell she was still hesitant, even though they'd done this before. She smiled, bit her lip, and looked into his eyes and knew what was coming.

Angelina shot up in bed, gasping for air. She reached over and tried to wake Dan up by poking him and saying, “Dan… Dan… Daaaaaaannnn….”

“MMmmnnaaahargggrrr….” Dan snorted and woke up, squinting in Angelina's direction, “What the fuck is going on?” he asked frowning, barely opening his eyes. Even though the windows were covered, he could sense the light outside and it made him uncomfortable. He started burying his head under the blankets.

Angelina ripped the blankets off Dan's head, “Com'mon, I'm serious… Wake up!”

Dan mumbled something to himself, “What?!” he snapped, squinting again.

“Can you look at my back?” Angelina asked, “Something's burning on my lower back…”

Dan rubbed his eyes and nodded slowly. He sat up in bed and lifted up the back of his shirt that Angelina was wearing to sleep in. He blinked his eyes a few times to make sure that he was seeing what he thought he was seeing. “No way…” he whispered to himself. “Why would she have a crescent moon with and infinity symbol in it?” he thought to himself.

“What?” asked Angelina with a worried expression and turned her head to see Dan's face. Dan looked surprised, he was frowning slightly. “What?!” Angelina asked again, this time with wide worried eyes.

Dan looked up at Angelina, “When did you get this tattoo?”

Angelina frowned at him, “Tattoo?” she asked. “You know I've always wanted one, but I've never gotten one… Why?” she asked frowning slightly from confusion.

Dan frowned again and gently touched the symbol that was on Angelina's back. Within seconds after he took his fingers away from it, the symbol was gone. “That's weird…” he said, his frown growing.

“What?” asked Angelina, her breath finally steadying now that the symbol was gone. She frowned slightly, “The pain's gone…”

Dan nodded, “That was weird…” It struck Dan that he had the same symbol, but on his inner right arm, and he checked to see that his was there. It was and for some reason it was red instead of the normal black. He'd heard about people with matching symbols. It often meant that the one with the reappearing tattoo was the Beloved of whoever had the permanent symbol. It would become permanent on the Beloved if the two people were bonded.

“Yeah…” said Angelina, “Now I can't go back to sleep… that was too weird…”

Dan nodded, “If you ever get that pain again, let me know…” Dan began to think to himself, “Angelina is my Beloved? That's a weird coincidence… Maybe that explains her being able to sneak up on me… And my being able to control my instincts when I'm around her… I knew she was special…” He smiled slightly to himself.

Angelina snuggled against Dan and he put his arm around her. She sighed, “That was weird… I've never gotten that bad of a pain before… Once as a child, but not since then…”

“Do you remember what happened when the pain acted up as a child?” Dan asked curiously.

Angelina frowned, “Barely… Now, don't laugh, ok? It sounds weird, but I swear it happened… This kid at school had been harassing me for a while and one day he punched me. Somehow, I got the courage to fight back… I got up and held him against the wall… Everyone was surprised because he was twice my size… After I got him to apologize, the pain started… It's odd that it would act up in the middle of the night… Er... Day…” Angelina corrected herself because she sometimes forgot that they slept during the day.

“Well, did you have a bad dream?” Dan asked.

“Come to think about it…” Angelina paused, “There was this creepy dude who pinned me against the wall and I fought back… Kind of like when I was a kid…”

Dan frowned, “Hmm… I'll look into it… Not the dream thing, but, um... You know… For now though, the pain is gone, so don't worry about it, ok?”

Angelina nodded and Dan kissed her forehead. She forced a small smile and leaned her head against his chest again. She liked this place a lot, whenever she was in Dan's arms, she felt, safer. It was hard to explain, but she never felt that way when her previous boyfriends held her. She let out a small sigh, “So, what do we do now?”

Dan shrugged, “I dunno, I guess we should try to get back to sleep…” he suggested, even though he knew very well that he wouldn't be able to sleep. His mind was racing with the reasons for his “tattoo” changing color and how he'd break the news to Angelina about her being his Beloved… Hell, how was he going to tell her his secret to begin with? He'd just have to take it one step at a time.

“Mmm… Be right back…” Angelina got up and quickly went to the restroom, that's one thing she hated about being woken up in the middle of the night, those damn bathroom breaks when you still want to sleep so badly. She hurried up and washed her hands and quickly climbed back into bed with Dan. She smiled and cuddled in closely, surprised that before she knew it, she was asleep again.
