Once Dan and Angelina got into their home, Dan helped her to their bedroom. “Go ahead and lay down if you need to, I can do the packing,” Dan said as Angelina fell back onto their bed. He grabbed two backpacks, one for him and one for Angelina, and started shoving some of their clothes into each one.

Angelina closed her eyes and she had a splitting headache, images pouring into her mind. She grabbed her head, even though she knew it wouldn't help with the pain, “What the-?” she thought to herself. The images flooded her mind so fast that she couldn't make half of them out very clearly. Then, they started slowing down and she started seeing herself. “This is too weird…” Eventually, the images slowed down and everything was playing like a movie in her head… Almost like a dream, but clearer.

This must be from someone else's point of view…” Angelina thought to herself when she saw her face. “You really think she's going to die?” she heard Chris' voice. The person who was watching everything nodded, “I'm scared she might… And I don't want to risk if she's going to die.” “Dan….” Angelina thought to herself when she heard the voice. “I'm sure she'll understand once we explain things to her… And she starts remembering what happened before she passed out,” she heard Chris again. “God I hope this works,” she heard Dan again. Angelina woke up gasping for air after she saw what Dan had done to her. It was as if she was reliving it, she felt her last breath leave her. “Then how am I able to gasp?” she frowned, confused by everything that was swirling around in her mind.

Dan came over to Angelina and sat down, “It's ok, don't worry… it's normal to feel this way. It's part of the process of turning… You're brain still says to breathe, so that's why we do… Even though our bodies don't need the oxygen…”

Angelina frowned, “Process of turning? What am I turning into?” she asked, slightly horrified to find the answer out herself. “What the hell is he talking about? I'm turning into something?! Why don't I remember anything and why in hell did I just see my own death?” she thought to herself, a horrified expression on her face.

Dan reached out to tough her cheek and comfort Angelina, but she jumped when he tried to touch her. He let out a sigh, “Look, I'll explain everything in a bit, but for now, it's not safe to be here.”

Angelina shook her head, “I don't give a shit,” she was holding back tears and got up from the bed and headed to leave their home, but Dan appeared in front of her. She looked up at him, “You're just like Jonathan…” she said, mortified.

Dan shook his head, “I'm not like Jonathan. I don't want to hurt people, he does. I really wanted to tell you. You have to understand I didn't want to do this without talking to you about it first.”

Angelina stared at him, she had heard something like what Dan had said before. Earlier, in her dream, “How can he be so calm about this?” she though to herself. She glared at Dan and swallowed hard, still holding back tears, “You killed me. How I can still talk to you and how you can still see me? It's beyond reason and I highly doubt I'm a ghost because you're acting as if this is normal. You killed me,” she repeated herself in disbelief, a tear slipping from her left eye.

Dan reached to wipe the tear from Angelina's cheek and she flinched again. He appeared pained that Angelina wouldn't let him touch her. He wasn't trying to be calm, he just didn't know what to say. He let out a sigh, “You're not a ghost. You're a… um… vampire…” “There, I said it…” he thought to himself.

Angelina tilted her head with a frown, “Yeah, you said it... I just heard you say it… A… What?” she looked at Dan and tried to read his expression which was that of surprise, “Did I just hear his thoughts?” she asked herself with a slight frown. “But… Vampires aren't real. I mean, sure there are those freaks that pretend to be vampires and have pleasure in killing people but sucking them dry, but I mean... Those are psycho people. And… I DIED! How can I still be alive and moving?”

“I already told you why you're still alive,” Dan replied and he checked his watch, “It's already been forty minutes and it would take fifteen minutes just to get to Josh's place,” he thought to himself. “Come on, since you're up and about you might as well help me pack,” he grabbed Angelina's hand and drags her back to the bedroom.

Angelina struggled and tried to break free of Dan's grip but gave up once he accomplished his goal and they were in their bedroom. “Why do we have to pack?” she asked, slightly confused, “And why did you say it's dangerous to stay here?”

“If Jonathan was trying to turn you, then I know there's going to be trouble for us and because I knocked him out, people will probably wonder why we left the party so early, without even a word. You're in danger, not to mention that the whole band is probably in trouble for being accomplices,” Dan said while he finished gathering his things. “Hurry up, we have to leave in a few minutes. I'll go get the bike ready.”

Angelina blinked at how rushed Dan had seemed, “Um… Ok then,” she said before she finished packing the backpack that Dan had started packing for her when she had passed out on the bed. She grabbed a few pairs of jeans and some of her favorite tops and had her bag was stuffed brimful. She then headed to the garage and found Dan stuffing his bag into the storage compartment at the end of the bike. She put her backpack on her own back, knowing that Dan was shoving his bag into the compartment so she could still ride on the bike with him.

“All set?” Dan asked and when Angelina nodded he put on his helmet. He handed Angelina her helmet and he mounted the bike. Angelina followed his lead and they were off to Josh's place.

“Wow…” said Angelina as Dan pulled into Josh's driveway. It was a two story house and had a fairly new model of a hybrid parked outside. “You sure he's only in your band and doesn't have a separate job?” she asked.

Dan nodded, “Yeah… I'm pretty sure anyway… He hasn't mentioned anything when we hang out…”

The two headed for the door to the house and were greeted by Josh who invited them in, “Set your bags down on that couch and follow me,” Josh said. He led the couple into the “entertainment” room where Chris and Doug were already lounging on the couch. “You're just in the nick of time you two. Look,” he said as he pointed to the tv screen where there was breaking news.

The local newswoman came up on the screen with a banner at the bottom that said “Breaking News”. “This morning somewhere around 3:00, the cops were called to Jonathan Harker's manor due to a disturbance. I'm with him now. Can you describe the events that happened tonight sir?”

Angelina's eyes widened when she saw Jonathan on the screen. “Yes, I was having one of my business parties,” he started and when the newswoman frowned he said, “Well, most of my co-workers have graveyard shifts, so they're used to being active during the night.” The newswoman nodded and let him continue, “And I was talking with this beautiful woman when someone came and knocked me out. I don't know how they managed it with the party, but I was also robbed.”

Angelina glared at the television screen. “What complete bullshit. He has some nerve,” she stated, the guys nodded in agreement.

“Like people will believe a robbery…” Doug said with disbelief in his voice.

The newswoman continued, “Do you have any idea who would have done such a thing?”

Jonathan nodded, “I think it might have actually been some of my guests, including the wonderful lady I was talking to before I was knocked out. I only know her first name, Angelina… But I know the names of the men who were her accomplices and I have given the information to the cops.”

Josh turned off the television before saying, “They're repeated that interview on the 24 hour local news channel twice in the last half an hour. It's the top story since Jonathan is somewhat of a local celebrity.”

Angelina let out a sigh and Dan grabbed her hand, “We should be fine as long as we watch it… Right…?” Dan asked with a slightly worried frown.

Doug shook his head, “They have ways of finding these things out. We probably won't be safe here for too long. We need to find another place to hide out.”

Chris nodded in agreement, “Only one problem… Who can we trust?”

“I know some people. I'll see you guys later,” said Josh, before leaving the room to find the information he needed.
