Chapter 12

“I Know Her”

Soon after an awkward silence, Terra and Crow blink, and break the absence of sound.

 

“Terra.”

 

“Crow.”

 

“Huh?” Cyborg says in confusion, and Raven asks Crow telepathically what is going on. She cannot hear his thoughts more than 2 words.

 

`We've met,' He thinks to Raven.

 

`When?' Raven asks, but there is no response.

 

“Crow, it has been a while… how long exactly?” Terra smiles. She knows about him… and she needs to take him down.

 

“A few years…” he stops trying not to say anything that would give himself away. “What do you want from me?”

 

“Nothing.” She winks. “I just wanted to drop in and catch up with the Titans.

 

“Well, let us go and catch up!” Starfire says cheerfully, and she pulls Terra away.

 

“Lets go, Titans,” Robin says as he starts to walk off, and sees Crow, panting. All the others are gone. “What happened to you?”

 

“Nothing,” Crow says.

 

“How did you know Terra?” Robin asks.

 

“A while ago, I met her. It was a few weeks before I started to look for Raven.” He says.

 

“But… you started looking on raven's birthday, 2 years ago, right?”

 

“Correct.”

 

“Terra was… stone, for months before then… and you said weeks?” Robin says, and Crow begins to sweat.

 

“What, are you calling me a liar?!” Crow says angrily. “I told you the truth! Are you suggesting that I am not?!”

 

“I don't trust you. I didn't trust you.” Robin says seriously, “And I guess, this adds on to that. I have my eye on you…” Robin walks off.

 

Crow sighs in relief, and flies back to the tower.

“So, what have you been doing all this time?” Beast Boy asks Terra.

 

“Sorry, BB, but I can't tell.”

 

“Aww, come on!” He turns into a small cat, and does “the face”.

 

Terra laughs, “Sorry, still can't!”

 

“Well, why are you here?” Raven asks.

 

“I have to do something… I need to talk with Crow,” she says seriously.

 

“What did he do?” Cyborg asks.

 

“Can't tell that either.”

 

“Well, wanna' go do something?” Beast Boy asks.

 

“Well, I do have some free time, so, alright. It's a date!” Terra smiles, and Beast Boy starts to cheer.

 

Robin and Crow walk in, and Terra looks at Crow. He looks at her. Another stare down. Beast boy pushes her out the door, and they walk into the city, to go see a movie. She kisses him, and they walk off.

 

“Why do you two keep doing that?” Cyborg asks.

 

Crow smiles. “None of your business.” He jumps on the couch, and starts to watch Anime.

“I can't believe you beat me in laser tag!” Beast Boy says as he and Terra walk back into the tower. She is holding a large teddy bear, and Beast Boy has a slushy.

 

“The movie was great. I had a wonderful time, Beast Boy.” She plants a kiss on his cheek, and they walk into the main room.

 

“Ah, they are back.” Crow says, as the credits for Gantz scroll by on the screen.

 

“How was your date together?” Starfire asks, getting in their faces.

 

“It was great!” Terra says, jumping on the couch. “Gantz? Isn't that a bit graphic?”

 

“Yeah, but I like anime that are violent, and have nudity.” Crow says.

 

“Alright…” Terra looks at him angrily, eye to eye. They are 5 inches away from each other. Crow blows in her eyes, and she sends a rock into his back. He flips over, and she sends two large rocks in through the windows to attempt and crush his head. He dodges, and kicks her in the gut.

 

“GO TERRA!” Beast Boy cheers.

 

“WHY ARE YOU CHEERING?! SHE'S TRYING TO KILL HIM!” Raven slaps him.

 

“Hey, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I cheered for him?” Beast Boy says, and she slaps him again.

 

“STOP IT!” Starfire screams among them all, “SHUT YOUR MOUTHS BEFORE I GIVE YOU ALL A ROYAL ASSKICKING!”

 

Everyone stops and stares at Starfire.

 

“Well, I need to leave…” Terra says, “It's getting late.”

 

“Then go,” Crow says.

 

“I need to have a word with Crow, outside.”

 

“Okay.” Crow walks out, and everyone leaves them alone.

 

 

Raven wonders what they could be talking about, but respects his privacy.

 

 

Outside, Crow and Terra walk along the island, and stop halfway between the tower, and the ocean. Terra puts down the teddy bear, and then walks up to Crow.

 

“You've been here too long.”

 

“I realized when the zombies raised… You are one of them, right?”

 

“What's your point?”

 

“Just curious.”

 

“You need to go soon.”

 

“I know.”

 

“I've been sent to bring you back, and then die, just as all the other zombies have been sent to do.”

 

“I know your purpose, and I know what happens.”

 

“Then why are you still here?”

 

“I have to do a personal errand.”

 

“Your `Eternal Love' thing I presume?”

 

“Eavesdropping? That is very low.”

 

“But effective. I need to take you down. You could make it easy, or you could make it hard. Either way, you will return. You have made it unstable, life and death are falling apart. Now, the easy way, or hard?”

 

“Hard, please.”

 

“Very well.” Terra makes a Rock armor, and turns her arm into a rock sword. She lunges at him, and he dodges skillfully.

 

“You will not ruin my plan!” He makes an Azarath Metreon Zinthi armor, and arm sword, and attacks her.

 

“You've gotten stronger in those two years…”

 

“You too, Terra!” He breaks her armor, and kicks her in the chest. Their fighting keeps getting more intense, as they begin to back off of the island, but she makes pedestals raise as not to get wet. He slashed her right under her neck, and then down her shoulders. They begin to fist fight, and then stop. They appear fine, but then, scratches appear all over Terra, and her shirt falls apart like a flap, only on her chest. Revealing… well… you know…

 

“You pervert.”

 

“Not, for perversion. Just to prove to myself that I am that skillful! He begins to laugh as she covers her chest. “Oh man! I bet the Joker $50 the first time I saw him that I could do that!” he looks down, and says, “I win the bet, bastard!” He looks up again. “Oh, and it is pretty good. You should try out for playboy!” He laughs, and realizes she just impaled his arm.

 

“Still wanna' joke about my breasts?”

 

“One more, just one more!” He stops laughing, “Your boobs are so small, I need an electron microscope to find out your bra size!” he laughs, and then breaks her sword, and head buts her.

 

“OW!” She falls down, and covers her chest with a sand shirt. She lunges at him, and they have one final clash.

 

They stop, with her head over his shoulder, and he whispers into her ear, “Tell him I will return tomorrow night, ands that I will not be alone… And, tell him then it will be over…” He lets go of Terra, and she stands back. She turns around, and then her neck spurts blood. Her head falls off, and she dies.

 

He drops her body into a black hole, and he disappears.

 

Crow walks inside, after cleaning himself, and the rocks. “She left.”

 

“She didn't say goodbye!” Beats Boy runs outside, and sees she is gone. Ther is no trace of her, except the teddy bear is still there.

 

Crow walks up to him, and he is crying. “She didn't even take Jo-jo…”

 

“She might come back… she loves you, and that will bring her back to you.”

 

“You are right…” Beast boy wipes the tears away , and walks back inside with the teddy bear.

 

 

“Tomorrow is my last day…” Crow says to himself. Raven runs out to him. “Raven, I need my own room tonight. I need to do something.”

 

“Alright.” She goes up to robin, and he nods.

 

“The further you are from him the better.” He mutters, but she doesn't hear it.

 

“Alright, you have your own room tonight…” the alarm goes off.

 

“Trouble?” Cyborg asks.

 

“NO! WE NEED PIZZA! CALL DAN!” Beast Boy says, and Starfire nods.

 

“Alright…” Robin says dramatically, “TITANS, GO!”
