Chapter 13

“I'm not What You Think I Am”

Part 1 - Alone

Raven wakes up to the sunlight shining through her window. She opens her eyes, and shuts them quickly. She yawns, and levitates to the window and closes the blinds, and as she is about to, she looks out the window.

She sees a man. A man she has known for about 3 years, without really meeting…

“Rorek?” She gasps.

Just as Rorek, the brave knight's eyes meet hers, his head gets severed off and because of the blow, it flies across the city. The man with the blade that killed Rorek is Crow.

Raven phases through the wall, and to Crow. “Did you kill him?!”

“It.” He turns to her. “That was a zombie. He was trying to kill me.”

“Why would it do that?”

“I don't know…” Crow cleverly lies. He knows… he always has known…

“Well, I'm glad you're alive.” She kisses him.

Crow grunts and walks back into the tower, and into his room. He sits down, and begins to ponder his plans.

Raven walks into the living room, where Robin reads a newspaper. Eh puts it down as he sees Raven.

“Raven! I had a dream! One of the dreams from the mind link. I could tell, you could see me in this one…”

“Strange, I had a dreamless sleep.” Raven says, sitting down. He seems to have something important.

“It was about Crow! It was… something… about… something… and… important… DAMN IT! HOW COULD I FORGET IT?!”

“Sounds important,” Raven says sarcastically.

“It was… Crow… All I remember is that we can't trust him… there is something he is hiding…” He walks off, and punches a hole in the wall. Cyborg in the kitchen looks at it.

“Aww, man! Gotta' fix that… guess we don't ned the contractor for this one though… that's good…”

Raven walks down the hall, and passes Crow's room. She listens in on the door by pressing her ear against it.

`He's… laughing?' she thinks, and phases in, but in a way that he cannot see her.

“And then… perfect… it is done. Tonight, it is finished.” He walks up to the door, and leaves.

`SHIT!' Raven thinks, and turns to a visible form. She runs out, and then mets up with Beast Boy.

“Hey, what's your boyfriend smiling about? You do him just now?” Beast Boy says, raising his eyebrows.

“No. He was doing something in his room, and laughing about it…”

“Well, what could he have been doing in a room, and knowing he has you as a girlfriend?” Beast boy makes a fist, and motions it up and down.

“He wasn't jacking off!” She slams her hand on his head.

“Well, then I'm out. He must have been thinking of something that he could do for you tonight, and have thought it as evilly perfect.”

“Maybe…” she walks off, and sees Crow talking to Starfire.

“… And I just need to know how to make her happy. And I mean, you're a girl, and no one else here can help me.”

“Well, Raven and I are very different. I am not sure I know what she likes, but I personally would find a candlelight dinner alone romantic.”

“I was thinking something different, but the alone thing seems good. I bet she would like that.” he says, and walks off thinking.

“What was that about?” Starfire jumps as Raven turns the corner.

“OH! Uh, I was just helping Crow with something. Nothing romantic, or secret or anything, just a problem!”

“What kind of problem?”

“Uh…” Starfire looks around, and looks at Raven's hair, “What color hair you would like! That's it!”

“What did you say?”

“Blorg.”

“O… kay…” she walks off, and Starfire sighs in relief.

Raven starts to think for a moment, and notices he has been with them for about a week now.

“It is probably an anniversary of our being reunited!” she says aloud by an accident, but then runs to her room to JUST IN CASE practice on what to do in specific situaions.

Raven wakes up, and notices she dozed off at 4:00. She frantically begins to think of more situations. Just then, he alarm goes off.

“Titans!” Robin yells in the living room, and Raven runs into the room for the briefing.

“What happened? Gizmo break loose? Killer Moth attacking? X?” Beast Boy asks.

“Zombies?” Crow asks.

“No, a robber. A guy in a gray jumpsuit, apparently, he has super speed.”

“No problem!” Beast Boy says, ”That's not a real threat.”

“Just be careful Titans.”

Robin jumps onto his motorcycle, Beast boy onto a Moped, and Cyborg into the car. Starfire, Raven, and Crow fly.

“Where you get the moped?” Cyborg asks.

“Crow bought me it! He just gave me it today.”

“Yeah.” Crow smiles.

“TITANS GO!” Robin screams and they all burst out.

After getting to the bank, The Titans stop in front of a man dressed in gray. There is no mask, no eyeholes, just a gray jumpsuit.

“Freeze!” Robin yells, and he turns around, and runs at light speed forward 3 blocks.

“Robin, me and Raven will run down this alley, and ambush him from the side. Follow him forward.”

“I'll send Beast Boy with you.”

Raven realizes something… they will be alone… “Actually, I'm fine alone with him.”

“You sure?” Robin asks.

“Yeah.”

“Okay. Be careful…” Robin says, and they split up.

Raven and Crow run into a dark alley, and turn so they are running the same direction as they guy.

Robin and the others drive forward, and chase the villain. He then turns and heads for the opposite side of the city.

“SHIT! He's not going straight… I need to go back!”

“No time, Robin,” Cyborg yells to him, “We can't afford this guy to get too far ahead of us!”

Crow and Raven run one block in the said direction, and then as they are out of sight of the other titans, they stop. When they hear the others leave, they turn around, and Crow kisses Raven.

“Aren't we going to stop him?” Raven asks with Oscar nominated acting skill.

Crow laughs. “I can read your thoughts. Good acting though… We're going the other way.” He pulls her down the alleys, and she goes along.

“Where?”

They walk until they reach the water. They are at a warehouse, which is in the sight of the tower. Crow leads Raven in, and they close the door, and begin kissing.

After a while, Crow realizes that about 10 minutes have passed by, and that they have just had sex… (He has his shirt on)

`Damn! She's friggin' manipulative!' he thinks, and then he gets up, and pulls his cape off of her and puts his pants on, as she dresses again.

“That was good,” She laughs and looks at him, and he is not smiling… in fact he is crying… “What is wrong?”

The crying continues, and then fades into maniacal laughing. He smiles as tears flow down his face, and he stands up and faces Raven. He looks pale, and his eyes baggy and dark.

“I'm not what you think I am…” He laughs in tears.
