Part 2 - Meanwhile

“Freeze!” Robin yells, and he turns around, and runs at light speed forward 3 blocks.

 

“Robin, me and Raven will run down this alley, and ambush him from the side. Follow him forward.”

 

“I'll send Beast Boy with you.”

 

Raven realizes something… they will be alone… “Actually, I'm fine alone with him.”

 

“You sure?” Robin asks.

 

“Yeah.”

 

“Okay. Be careful…” Robin says, and they split up.

 

 

Raven and Crow run into a dark alley, and turn so they are running the same direction as they guy.

 

Robin and the others drive forward, and chase the villain. He then turns and heads for the opposite side of the city.

 

“SHIT! He's not going straight… I need to go back!”

 

“No time, Robin,” Cyborg yells to him, “We can't afford this guy to get too far ahead of us!”

 

“Shit… Keep on him Titans!” Robin accelerates and the gray man does the same, making the gap between them stay the same.

 

“This guy's fast!” Beast boy says, using the overdrive on his Scooter. He now is at the same speed as Robin.

 

“He is fast, but I am confidant that we will catch him!” Starfire yells to them, and uses a blast to launch herself forward, and into the gray man. She phases through him, and he keeps running. Starfire looks confused. “What is this man?”

 

“He ain't human!” Cyborg says in awe. He accelerates, and the gray man turns a corner. They all pass the corner, and turn back to him.

 

They have already reached the center of the city. It looks like the man is heading for the exit on the bridge out of town.

 

Robin launches himself off the motorcycle, and uses his jet boots to fly after the gray man. He throws a disc at him, and it freezes his body. The titans reach the sculpture, and begin to examine it.

 

“There is just solid ice!” Cyborg says in confusion, “Where is he?”

 

“He's right here!” Robin says, and the gray man runs out of the ice sculpture, which is still intact. “He phased through it…” Robin says in horror.

 

The man bows, and runs at a normal pace to the exit of the city. They all attack him, and nothing happens. He slows down to a cool walk, and they keep going through him as if he was magic, or just an illusion. He turns and chuckles, but there is no sound.

 

Just then he is hit swiped by sharp nails, and disappears like a hologram. Behind him is an army of zombies on the bridge. Leading them is Clayface, who swiped him, and Scarecrow. Scarecrow still has the hole through his chest where he was stabbed by Raven, and is a wanly pale green color. His chest is bloody, and you can literally see right through him. The wound looks nasty, and the inside is pulsing. He breathes deeply, and his eyes are dark, and baggy. He laughs.

 

“Scarecrow?” Robin asks, in horror, “We checked your pulse… you were dead… you are dead. You're a zombie aren't you?”

 

“Where is the girl? Where is she and where is Crow?” he asks in a wheeze.

 

“We split up. She's with him, and we don't know where they are. They were going to ambush the gray guy from another angle.”

 

“YOU FOOL!” He wheezes, and Clayface steps forward.

 

“There was no gray man. It was an illusion!” Clayface says. They know he's a zombie, but he looks completely normal.

 

“What are you talking about?” Beast Boy asks, “You're just crazy! He robbed the bank!”

 

Another zombie steps forward. This one has a cut around its head, and looks like it has been severed. It's skin looks normal, but bloated. It was in the water… and it looks rotten, but at the sight of this, Beast Boy begins to cry.

 

It is Terra. She has been resurrected for the second time… this time she isn't supposed to still be alive, but a spell by another zombie keeps her alive.

 

“Terra…” Beast Boy cries hysterically. “You died leaving the tower…” he says, but looks up dramatically. “I am sorry, but you aren't Terra anymore…” he sniffs in tears, “But if you have become this, a zombie… you are a threat to society, and must eb stopped… I love you…” he transforms, and tackles her as a raptor.

 

“You all have to go back to hell from where you came.” Robin turns 2 birdarangs into a sword and lunges at the undead soldiers, and kills two. Blood splatters over his body, and he keeps going.

 

The smell of rotten flesh fills the air as all the Titans go into battle. They kill off many of the zombies, but they keep coming. Each moaning something that cannot be made out.

 

“EE UNSD FELCUM” Robin hears, but doesn't understand. He attacks Scarecrow, and gets punched hard in the chest. He then gets thrown into a wall and falls unconsus.

Robin awakes in a room. He looks around, and sees Raven standing in front of him, looking gin horror. He steps around and sees Crow in the room with his shirt off, and back facing raven. In the corner is a neuse, and he is crying. Robin runs to the other side of the room, and stands in front of Crow.

 

He sees Crow's scars… he watches as Crow slits his wrists, and uses the neuse, and then hears Raven scream, and the dream shifts into it's next part.

 

He is at the table in the ice cream parlor, and stands next to Raven's table. Crow tells her his story, and he sits listening to the tale for the second time. As it ends, there is a flash, and he is seeing in first person Raven's view of the day she woke up after her sickness.

 

The view walks into the living room, and turns on the TV. It is greeted by a kiss on the neck, and a whisper of “I love you” in the ear. It then kisses him back, but on the way back from his lips it sees his wrist.

His writs it scarred just like he said, exactly where he said, but something is strange about it. The scar looks like it has roughly been scarred twice. The view stops and looks into his eyes.

“Crow, did you get cut on the wrist during the rebellion?” Raven's voice asks, and he clenches his sleeve.

“No, only the dragon war. Why?” he asks.

“Nothing.” Raven says, and passes out. Robin gasps as there is a flash, and another scene.

Robin stands in the wasteland of Azarath and sees Raven looking around, and then she is greeted by Crow at the river. He sees a tombstone behind Crow and reads the name on it. His eyes are wide in horror, as crow tells Raven to leave his mind, and as soon as she does, he kicks the tombstone over. Another flash.

He stands next to Crow who sits on Raven's bed, talking to raven who has the fever. He tells his story, and Robin listens in.

“Fuck, I don't have time for this! I need to stop the zombies!” Robin says in anger, and then notices that Crow wasn't cut again. Another flash.

Raven dreams of Azarath over years, in a montage like this one, but he sees only Azarath as it was in the last time he was there. He follows Raven.

“This is creepy,” she says as she walks around. She walks through Robin and goes to the river, and sees something she didn't notice. A tombstone randomly placed on the edge of the river, just enough so the grave wouldn't fall into it. Raven walks toward it, but as she is about to read it, a hand bursts from it. Robin screams to her who it is, but she focuses on the hand. She can't hear him at all. He is the one dreaming, and he can't touch her. This is only a memory.

The hand then pulls the rest of the person out, and she sees a boy in a suit, with red eyes, and green skin standing over it. His wrists are shown just enough to show scabs, and he tears them open again. He is missing his hair, and he seems about 16 years old. His one eye is red, the other one has only a red pigment. He then begins to recompose, and his flesh begins to return. His hair grows back and he looks familiar. He smiles, and looks in Raven's direction. She can see him completely, and he screams, “RAVEN!” and she screams. Robin lunges at him, and then there is a flash.

 

He watches in a warehouse looking at his own body. He is smiling because of the joker's laughing gas.

All of a sudden, Robin hears “Lets go,” and Crow bursts in and hits Scarecrow across the face.

“Filthy son of a-“ Joker stops and he and Crow look eye to eye.

“You!” they say to each other, and Raven knocks Joker over.

“You insolent Brat! I thought I put you out!” He screams at Crow, and Scarecrow gasses him. Robin looks in horror.

“They knew each other…they have fought…” Robin whispers, putting the puzzle together. There is another flash, and he watches the full happenings on Raven's birthday.

Robin stands near the river, and sees crow sittings on a rock where he and Raven always sit together. He waits to ask her something.

He reads a pink book labeled “Diary” to pass the time, and laughed at some of the things Raven had written.

“Hi,” a perky cute voice said, next to him, and he shoved the book into his cloak, “Wacha' reading?” Raven asked.

“Nothin',” he said, in shock. She almost saw him reading it.

“It looked like something,” she said poking him.

“Jeez, that hurts”, he said, levitating, and using his powers to make a bridge of water so they could get to the other side of the river like they did everyday. He walked next to her on it, as they met up with a group of their friends.

“If it isn't the doves!” One boy said, “What took ya' ya' two love birds?”

“We're not love birds!” they both yelled at the top of their lungs.

“Hey, it's a joke. Your names both are kinds of birds!” the same boy says.

“Speakin' of love birds,” Crow starts as the group of kids start to walk into the main town, “Who's your `nameless love,' Raven?” Crow asked Raven, as all the others looked at them.

“What?” she said shocked, “`nameless love'? Never heard of him.”

“I think you have,” Crow said holding up her diary and flipping to one page, as all the others `ooh' and `ah', “Dear diary, Today I saw a faint glimpse of my `nameless love' as I passed by him in the park. We didn't talk at all today, but that night I had the most peculiar dream! He and I were alone at the lake and we were kissing. Then he told me he loved me, and we went for a ride on a-“ she tries to grab the book, but he levitates out of her reach, “PONY!”

Everyone whales in laughter as Raven starts to cry. “Azarath Metreon Zenthos!” She says and she catches the book after Crow gets knocked over. She starts to run while crying, and runs to the river. The bridge isn't there, so she uses her magic to make the book levitate, and she swims across in tears, and gets out soaked, but still runs on.

“Whadid' I do?” Crow says as he stands there looking shocked, and one of Raven's friends hits him on the head.

“A diary is a personal thing! You can't just read it to everyone!”

“Oh…” he says as he flies after her, but can't find her.

Robin follows Raven to her house. She runs into her old room.

Hours pass in the dream, and Robin watches dinner that night.

“Dinner's great mother,” young Raven says.

“You know, ever since you disappointed me, your mother's food has tasted like shit,” her step father says while digging in, “we looked into your future, and saw the Azarath Metreon Zenthi, and when you were born, it was replaced with the apocalypse. That fuck-tard orphan kid who you are friends with had it instead! I married your mother because you were to be a hero. They don't allow divorces here! Also, the kid is an orphan, and I don't want to adopt anything. I hate you, you weak child,” her stepfather says, like always during dinner.

“That asshole. I wish I could kick his ass…”Robin growls as Raven puts her head down.

“Please, pass the lemons,” young Raven says, putting her hood up, and looking depressed.

“Here, dear,” her mother says, passing the lemon plate and looking upset. She can't do anything about her husband, and is depressed because of it.

“Thank you mother,” young Raven says, taking 2 handfuls of them.

“The lemons can't hide the truth. You are a weak-“ her stepfather begins, but young Raven then jumps across the table, flipping it up and onto him, and holding him down, as she plunges her handfuls of lemons in his eyes. She squeezes the juices into them, and he screams in pain

Robin cheers.

“YOU DO THIS TO ME EVERY DAY! IT IS MY BIRTHDAY!” young Raven screams, “I HOPE YOU GET BLIND, BECAUSE THEN YOU WILL FEEL THE PHYSICSL EQUIVELENT OF MY PAIN!”

“That's harsh!” Robin says aloud.

Young Raven then runs to her room. She stuffs a bag full of robes and cloaks, and takes her diary. She breaks out the window, and runs. Robin follows.

They run up the hill where Crow's foster family lives, and she stops at his window. Robin nods.

Crow is asleep, and she sheds a tear and says, “I'm sorry I yelled at you Crow. I love you, and I hope we meet again, and can live together forever,” and with that, she runs off, never to return to Azarath. There is a flash again.

They are in the room where Raven and Jewel Fought, and Crow has taken Jewel to tell her something, and Robin runs to listen, and knows for sure what is wrong with him. He looks in horror. Flash.

He sits in the room when Raven and Crow were about to have sex.

“Okay,” Crow says, and Raven instantly pulls his pants off, and begins to lift his shirt, and he pulls her hands away from it, “I'm sorry but I have a lot of scars. You wouldn't want to see them while having sex with me, and I would prefer to keep it on.”

“Sure. Okay,” she says, and she looks at him, “Nice. Now do me,” she says, referring to him taking off her clothes.

Robin closes his eyes, but there is a flash instead. He sighs in relief. “WHY WON'T THIS END?” He says in frustration.

This time, he remembers what the dream where he and Raven were in at once. This is the same scene.

He stands on the island in front of Crow and Terra.

Terra has her head over Crow's shoulder, and he whispers into her ear, “Tell him I will return tomorrow night, ands that I will not be alone… And, tell him then it will be over…” He lets go of Terra, and she stands back. She turns around, and then her neck spurts blood. Her head falls off, and she dies. And then without a flash, he sees Crow alone, looking out the window.

“I knew this would happen. I've been here too long. I need to do it soon. I must stop before they return to send me back. I've over stayed my welcome, and haven't done what I was meant to.” Crow says dramatically to himself as Raven sleeps, “It begins now. I plunge into eternal love with her soon… or else…” he sits on the couch, pondering his plans.

Robin gasps, and there is a flash.

Robin wakes up, and gasps. He gets up, and runs to the titans. In reality, only 30 seconds have passed.

“TITANS! STOP!” he screams, and they others stop, and run up to him.

“What?” Cyborg asks.

“I had a vision…” Robin says, and he looks up in horror. “IT IS CROW!” He screams “THEY'RE AFTER CROW! He's not human… Raven is in grave danger! Crow's a-“
