Okay, I don't own Kingdom Hearts, I'm just using the characters in my own creative way.

Kairi sits alone watching the sunset. Again. Its been three long years since Sora left her. He and Riku left her. Its been three long years since the day she returned to the island. And neither one of them came back to her. Where are you guys? Where are you Sora?

Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Maybe it was all just false hope she's been hanging onto for the past three years. She loved Sora. Maybe that's why she's been hanging on so tightly. Her light of hope was beginning to fade now. What if something happened to him? No! I must not give up on him and his heart.

Selphie approaches Kairi quietly. "Boo!!" she screams into the oblivious Kairi's ear. "Ahhh!" "Selphie, I swear that as soon as I get up, I'm going to throw you to the next world!" she said in aggrivation. "Oh come on Kairi, It was just a simple joke." "I know it was Selphie, sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you like that, I was just thinking about something." said Kairi. "Oh, what about?" said Selphie interested in hearing someone's thoughts. "Selphie, do you think Riku and Sora will ever return to us?" "Of course they will! Is that what was bothering you for all this time?" Kairi didn't answer. How could she be so sure? Selphie could be so naïve, hanging onto foolish hope. Hmph, fools hope. But she had no right to say anything. That same fools hope she's been holding onto is the same as Selphie's.

"Uhhh, yoooo hooooo Kairi time to land!" said Selphie with a giggle. "Huh, oh, sorry Selph, I sorta left Destiny Islands for awhile." "Where to, La La Land?" this had them both laughing now. "Thanks Selph, you're a good friend." "No problem, anytime, well the sun is gone, where do you think the sun goes when it sets Kairi?" "Probably to La La Land." "Be serious!" "Okay, maybe it goes to another world. Like right now it's nighttime, but maybe somewhere else, like where sora and Riku are at, it's daytime." "I think you're right Kairi." Said a familiar voice. Kairi wakes up from her deep thinking with a start. Its as if time stopped itself. She turned around with her eyes shut, not wanting to see anyone's face unless it was the ones she lost.

"Kairi, why are your eyes shut?" "Open them, it's me, Riku. As if slow motion was on, she turned her head, hoping it was really him and not another cruel fantasy. There he was. Riku. She jumped up and embraced him until she was sure he wouldn't disappear. Then like magic, the one she loved stood before her. "Sora, is that really you?" "Yep" he said with his trademark cheesy smile. "Hey! How come Riku gets a hug and I don't?" he said with mock aggrivation. She lunged into his arms and cried. They were finally back. Finally home.
