One second.

That's all it took for the foundations of Katy's world to crumble.

You see, it was a bright Sunday morning, and she had been eating cereal at the breakfast table by herself. Her parents were off running errands, leaving her at home with her best friend, who was upstairs still, taking a shower. Katy had been thinking of normal, everyday things. You know, like what outfit she was going to wear once she finished eating or what she'd do with Beth afterwards.

Then the world-crumbling occurrence happened.

Beth walked into the kitchen wearing a towel, nothing else; complaining about dirty clothes and wet ones.

That, of course, was nothing major. Happened all the time, really. Combine a clumsy blonde with a angry redhead, and you got Beth- Short, busty, clumsy, and angry, with odd red hair with blonde tips. Ranting about messed up clothing was ordinary.

What was extraordinary was Katy's reaction to it. Usually she'd take it all in stride, let her best friend rant a little, then calm her down with soothing words and reasoning. This time, however, she couldn't help but notice some things she really would rather not have noticed. Such as how Beth looked kind of cute with the odd hair framing her face. Or how the towel was a bit too low on her chest, showing a bit of…

“Ack!” Blushing furiously, Katy tore her eyes up to her friend's face. She had never, ever, ever thought of another girl that way, ever, much less was attracted to one. And her best friend!

She liked boys. That was as much of a fact in her life as the knowledge the sun rises in the morning, or that she'd go to school tomorrow. So why did she look at Beth that way?

Oblivious to her friend's new insight, Beth continued rambling on…

Author's Notes: Bleh, Got this idea, was gonna let it go, but Vig and Silv said “Go for it” so I did. And this junk is what popped out.
