Chapter: 17: Poppa Don't Preach, We're In Trouble Deep!

Felicity's breathing became erratic as she watched Haldir walk away from her, "How dare you walk away from me," she paused for a moment waiting for his response; she received none.

"You promiscuous, poor excuse of a March Warden!" she huffed after him, still nothing.

"Get back here you son of a bitch!" she screamed as she ran after him. He didn't even offer her a glance over his shoulder, though perhaps maybe he should have, as he would have seen her coming straight for him now in a full on sprint. She jumped on his back sending him careening to the ground.

"Answer me when I am speaking to you," she seethed sitting atop of his back as his face was pressed into the ground.

Haldir sighed now, it took everything in his power not to beat the living daylights out of her; surely she had it coming. "Felicity, get off of me," he insisted through clenched teeth.

"That's not what you were saying last night," she pulled his hair now lifting his head from the ground.

"Last night has nothing to do with right now," he huffed as he pushed himself up off of the ground causing Felicity to fall back on her bottom.

"Oh I see, I am only worthy of conversation while I am lying on my back or is it your back," she hissed.

"Alright, that's enough! No more games Felicity, you want to talk …talk," he looked her in the eye as she stood up and tried to compose herself. Now that she had his attention it was time to get serious…

*********

"Legolas I am so sorry," Kimber sobbed as she pushed her face deeper into him; not wanting to lift her face to his. What if he had believed everything Felicity had said. Surely, he would not want to be with her now!

Legolas looked down to her and despite her condition he did not mind her closeness, in fact he was delighted in her touch; though now may not have been the best time to be thinking of such things.

"There is no need for apologies, Melamin, for you have done nothing wrong," he whispered stroking her hair.

"But I know you heard what she said," her voice was muffled against his tunic.

"And is it true?" he questioned softly.

"Absolutely not!" she insisted now looking up to him.

"Well then what are you worried about?" he smiled at her,

"I was just afraid that you would hate me," she sniffled as her tears now streaked down her face.

"Impossible Kimber! I love you too much for that," he replied caressing her face.

She stopped and looked up to him for a moment before bursting in to tears once more.

"Kimber, now why are you crying, does my profession of love make you that sad?" he asked her half-jokingly.

"No, I just cannot believe that Felicity and I are fighting. She has never looked at me like that before; she hates me," Kimber began to cry once more.

"She does not. She is just going through some things right now and when she saw you leave with Haldir…" he began.

"No! She did not think that I…that Haldir and I…?!" Kimber exclaimed baffled by the thought of how Felicity could think that she would do such a thing! And with Haldir no less!

"Well, yes, sometimes jealousy tends to cloud our better judgment," he sighed.

"Did you think that?" Kimber looked to him again with concern.

"I will not lie to you, I did at first but I something deep down told me otherwise. I even tried to talk to Felicity, but I am sure that you already know how that went…" the two laughed as Kimber nuzzled closer into him.

*********

"Well that was definitely interesting," Merry offered as took a bite form an apple he had found in Sam's pack.

"I might call that a learning experience!" Pippin agreed.

"And what have we learned, exactly, Pip?" Merry asked him sarcastically.

"Um, I don't know… give me a minute," he tapped his head. "Oh, I um… whatever Merry, do you suppose that Kimber is going to be okay?" he wondered now looking on as she was still nuzzled close into Legolas' chest.

"I do believe that Legolas will take care of her, fellas," Sam now offered as he approached the two.

"That's what we are afraid of!" they both spoke with haste.

"You two need to remove your blinders!" Sam replied shaking his head, "Is it not obvious that Kimber and Legolas have feelings for one another?" Sam looked at the two now.

"Blinders? Hey where did you get that apple?" Pippin looked at Merry now as he munched away at the delectable fruit. Merry motioned to Sam's pack before replying.

"What? Well I suppose that the notion that she had feelings for him did cross my mind a time or two, but I don't know what she sees in him," Merry chewed.

"Who's got feelings?" Pippin chimed while rummaging through the pack.

"It doesn't matter if you don't know what she sees in him, she sees something in him, Legolas is a good man…er…elf and you should be happy for her," Sam insisted.

"She is still our fairy Samwise Gamgee! It might be nice if he asked our permission before taking off with her," Merry huffed.

"Ah ha!" Pippin shrieked as he pulled an apple out of the sack, "Who's asking permission?" he said taking a hefty bite.

"You two have gone too far, asking permission! Miss Kimber is not a piece of property! She does not belong to anyone, expect for the parents who birthed her, Merridoc Brandybuck, since you want to be throwing around names!" Sam scolded, placing a hand on his hip.

"Are we still talking about Kimber?" Pippin wondered; Sam and Merry offered him a sideways glance.

"We don't treat her like that!" Merry insisted.

"Ah, Mer… yes we do," Pippin conceded. Merry looked at his friend now, and then at the ground as he finally realized that they had in fact treated Kimber in such a way. He motioned for Pippin to follow as he walked over to where Kimber and Legolas stood.

"Ah excuse me," Merry reached up and tapped Legolas on the shoulder. The elf looked down to him, as did Kimber.

"Pip and I have been talking," Merry began.

"You have?" Legolas quirked a brow and wondered where this was going, hoping that this was not going to turn into another one of those `Get away from Kimber' moments.

"Well yes and we just wanted to let you know…" he continued before Pippin interrupted him.

"Yes we wanted to tell you," Pippin agreed.

"Will you quit it!" Merry shot Pippin an irritated look.

"Quit what? I was just agreeing with you," Pippin retorted feeling a bit defensive.

"Well don't!" Merry returned sharply.

"Don't agree with you?" Pippin looked to Merry now, dumfounded.

"No don't interrupt me anymore!" Merry huffed, before looking back to Legolas and Kimber. "We wanted you to know that we won't be bothering you anymore about being around Miss Kimber," he concluded.

Pippin nodded in agreement.

Legolas, though a little shocked smiled at them before looking down to Kimber, "I do believe that I have just been given their blessing."

"Yes it seems you have!" she smiled back to him.

Legolas looked back to the two, "Gentlemen, I thank you for your kind words and I promise the both of you that I will do whatever it takes to keep Kimber very happy.

"And you better cause if you don't," Merry made a fist as he smiled.

"You'll be answering to us!" Pippin added.

"I am tired of this Haldir, I will not do this anymore," she insisted.

"What are you talking about, Felicity?" He questioned her.

"This," she motioned to the both of them, "You are a tyrant." She offered. "Commanding those around you to obey you and if they do not your treat them as though they are imbeciles; and that includes me." She sighed.

"For three days I have endured your arrogance and belittlement only to have you crawl into bed with me at the end of your days taking what you deem is rightfully yours," she exhaled nervously as she spoke to the elf towering above her.

Haldir looked at her as her once harsh _expression turned somber, "And though I have enjoyed our rendezvous, Haldir, I have been a fool to allow it to go on this long," she was serious "But I can no longer do it, I do not deserve such things, Haldir," she deduced, saddened that it had come to this.

"Felicity," he began.

"No, Please listen to me Haldir," she continued. "And as though your conceitedness isn't enough to endure, I must sit back and watch as you cavort with my own flesh and blood?" he winced at her words, "Have you no excuse for yourself lest that you are a poor excuse for an elf?"

"Are you through?" he looked at her indignantly for a moment, trying to keep his composure.

"I am," she replied smugly before turning to walk away from him, he placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her around to face him once more, "Very well, now you will listen to what I have to say," he insisted.

"Will I?" she chided.

"You will", he took her gently by the hand and led her over to a nearby tree stump; sitting down he guided her reluctantly down to his lap.

"You're sister is a noble maiden Felicity, were it not for her I would have washed my hands of you days ago," she rolled her eyes and attempted to stand up only to be pulled back down by him. "What I mean to say is that I approached Kimber because I knew that I was not doing right by you and I wanted to make things better for us," he offered, brushing a lock of hair from her face.

"It was because of Kimber that I haven't strangled you by now," he smiled.

She found no humor in his remark, "Haldir, please do not patronize me,"

"It was your sister who revealed to me that so long as I was acting the way in which I was I would never have you, emotionally; though physically that is another story, " he snickered. "And by the way I do apologize for letting that cat out of the bag."

Felicity sighed looking into his blues eyes, "I am sorry, I can no longer take you, Haldir" she conceded her eyes were glazing over with the notion of tears; this was it.

"Felicity, nor can I take you, Melamin, most days that is, but the fact remains that I love you, and I want you to love me also," she looked at him now eyes wide as she could not believe her ears.

"Do you love me?" he was serious now as he looked into her dark eyes.

"I do," she whispered, a bit more than shocked with his words. "I do love you, Haldir," she repeated, hardly able to believe that she was uttering those words herself. Certainly she had not expected this, "I…" she began before Haldir cupped her face and kissed her lips delicately.

"Shush." He placed a finger to her lips "For it is settled, we shall return to our friends, be on our way to the golden wood, and live happily ever after," he smiled at her for a moment before offering her a serious look.

"Felicity, no one knows more than I that we both need a lot of work, I am trying and I would ask that you do the same. You are my wife and if you want to be my wife from this moment on you need to act as though you are," he looked her in the eyes now. She nodded quietly, nestled into his torso and hugged him. Haldir lifted her face to his "In as much as I need to start acting like your husband," he whispered to her before kissing her lips once more as he did running his strong hands up her thighs.

*********

It was almost mid-day when Haldir and Felicity finally returned back to the group. All heads turned to them, a might surprised to see that the two were now holding hands and smiling at one another.

"Newlyweds," Rumil whispered to his brother, who nodded in agreement.

"Kimber, look," Legolas whispered, she looked from him to Haldir and her sister. "See I told you that everything would be okay," he smiled.

Felicity looked to see Legolas holding Kimber; he had comforted her in her time of need; she was thankful for that and it pleased her to think that both she and her sister had both found love.

Love? Dear lord, she looked to Frodo who was staring at her with much confusion. She offered him a faint smile, she knew that she would have to speak to him soon, but now was not the time.

"Melamin, go to your sister," Haldir whispered to her as the two came to the camp. Hesitant at first, she finally obliged and walked over to where Kimber and Legolas stood; Legolas, seeing Felicity approaching them, kissed Kimber's forehead and left so the two could be alone to talk.

"Kimber, I am sorry I did not mean to say such things to you," Felicity whispered.

Kimber looked up from the ground, "I know you did not Felicity and I am sorry for my actions also, though I just cannot believe that you actually thought Haldir and I…oh you know," Kimber sighed half-smiling.

"Oh I know," Felicity smiled, thinking of the `oh you know' she had enjoyed with the likes of Haldir before their return. She turned and looked at him, he along with Legolas stood there watching her and Kimber.

"Besides he is not my type," Kimber added with a giggle; Felicity giggled in return as well before embracing her sister.

*********

"Well it looks as though all is forgiven," Gimli walked over to where Haldir and Legolas stood.

"Well yes it seems to be and having said that Master Dwarf, I shall take the ante," Legolas smiled.

Haldir looked on in disbelief as Gimli, who was mumbling some sort of obscenities about elves, reluctantly handed over his bow to Legolas. "Is that my bow?" he inquired.

"Well, it was Gimli's bow, but before that I suspect that it might have been yours," Legolas taunted.

"Well then perhaps you can give it back to its rightful owner," Haldir extended his hand expecting Legolas to act nobly on his behalf; to his surprise Legolas removed it from Haldir's reach.

"I am the rightful owner now, I won it, and many thanks Haldir, for I could not have done so with out you," Legolas offered him devious grin.

Haldir sighed heavily before walking over to where the two fairies stood, Legolas followed close behind with his new prize slung across his back.

"All is well here I presume?' Haldir looked to the two sisters as they smiled at one another.

"Yes and with you?" Kimber looked to the Warden, who then smiled widely at first at her then at her sister.

"Yes all is very well," he paused and pulled Felicity close to him, "now," he continued as he kissed Felicity on the forehead and embraced her.

"Haldir, that's too tight," Felicity whispered to him feeling a bit peeked, though he paid no attention as he hugged her tightly.

"Haldir?" she murmured.

He pulled away from her for a moment and was about to offer her a reply when he was interrupted by a fountain of vomit spewing from her mouth onto his tunic (*That one is for you PJ)

"Felicity?" Kimber gasped, "Are you okay?" she looked to her sister now as she reached for Legolas he looked on in horror as she wiped her mouth with his cloak, "sorry," she muttered. He looked at Kimber now; his nose wrinkled up.

"Yes I feel better now," she whispered looking first to Kimber then at Haldir who stood motionless.

"Have you not been drinking the elixir I prepared for you?" Kimber inquired as she stepped in front of her sister.

"Well," she began.

"No she hasn't," Merry interjected, "As a matter of fact I wore most of that this morning while you were off speaking with Haldir."

"You threw that up as well?" Kimber now looked at her sister with much concern. With the hobbits around they had been eating foods that the were not quite used to though surely that would've eliminated any stomach ails she was having.

"No she didn't throw it up," Pippin offered, "She spit it out," he tattled.

"Felicity?" Kimber scolded her sister for a moment before deciding that would do no one any bit of good, "Come let's get you washed up, Haldir, Legolas," she motioned for the two to remove their garments to be washed, they obliged and the two fairies took their leave in effort to find a small stream that they had passed along the way.

"Kimber, I feel horrible," Felicity offered wearily as she splashed her face with the cool water.

"I must say Felicity you don't look well at all," Kimber replied as she scrubbed the stain from Haldir's tunic.

"No, I mean about the fight we had," she offered.

"Felicity, it's okay," Kimber smiled.

"Yes, but I never should have said those things to you," she took Legolas' cloak and splashed some water onto it.

"You didn't mean it Felicity it's okay," Kimber replied.

"Yes, but that's still no excuse," she sighed, "and" she began…"Thank you."

"For?" Kimber raised a brow at her sister.

"For talking to Haldir," Felicity grinned.

"Aw, come on it was nothing," Kimber nudged her sister.

"Kimber, I know him, that was more than nothing," she snickered, "I would've thought he would have kicked me squarely in my bottom by now," she smiled.

"Perhaps that's what you wanted," Kimber offered. "If you made him angry enough he would have just written you off and then you would not have had to deal with your feelings for him," Kimber gave her sister a serious look, "Ah, you Felicity, I can read you as well as you read me, though we are still without powers, you are still my sister."

"I am," Felicity smiled, "And I am glad that you have done right by me," she put her arm around her sister.

"Well, it was the least that I could do seeing as how you gave Boromir a hefty ass kicking on my behalf and then the whole hide and seek plan as it were," they both laughed heartily for a moment before Kimber looked at Felicity again.

"Felicity, I could think of no one better suited for the likes of you than Haldir. At the very least he will make a very interesting brother-in-law," she smiled before standing to her feet and extending her hand to her sister. She took it and the two headed back to the others.

"Well," Haldir took his wet tunic from Kimber and watched as Felicity handed Legolas his cloak before turning to address the group, "If it pleases you ladies and gentlemen we must be on our way if we hope to reach Caras Galhadon by nightfall," he offered.

**********

A sense of peace now came upon them as they continued their venture to the golden wood. Haldir looked to Felicity who was once again walking at his side; he felt a sense of relief now as he had finally uttered those words to her that he should have said five years ago. He then looked at Kimber who was walking with Legolas. She looked happy to be near him and Haldir was glad for that as well, though it would have been nice to see Rumil with the likes of her. He had come to know much about her in the few days that they had spent together; much of which he had come to know through their `talks'. He allowed his eye to wander to the rest of the fellowship as they toddled along. First to Frodo, then to the others; the look on their faces now caused him to focus his attention to that which was now before him. He paused for a moment before turning to the group, "You are now entering the realm of Lord Celebron and Lady Galadriel," he announced proudly.

"Felicity," Kimber ran to her sister.

"I know Kimber," she gasped looking around at the majestic trees; with bark as smooth as silk, "It looks like home!"

"Home?" Legolas looked at Kimber now, "Your home looks like this?" he gave her an inquisitive look.

"Well, yes and no," she whispered now to him. She was so taken aback by the initial resemblance that she wanted to burst.

"My word, Mister Frodo, will you look at that," Sam was astounded as they walked deeper into the wood.

The close proximity of the trees allowed for a vast canopy to seemingly engulf the forest.

Crystal lanterns illuminated the atmosphere around them as they walked deeper into the wood.

"Look at this place!" Boromir sighed, as he looked upon the many statues placed with precision around them.

"How do they do they grow trees that big, Pip?" Merry's eyes were wide as he looked upon the mallorn trees about; most of them bearing a circumference that were nearly as wide as most of the dwellings in the Shire.

"Pippin," Haldir called after the hobbit as he ran over to a fountain and inspected it. "Come now, we mustn't stop now, for we are almost there and the Lady and Lord of the Golden wood are waiting."

"How do they do that, Haldir?" he asked walking over to the Warden now, "Where is that water coming from?"

"Pippin, many mysteries are beheld in this wood. Many of which will never be answered we've only to marvel in their beauty, appreciate it for what it is," Haldir returned with a smile as he now placed a hand on Pippin's shoulder. They soon reached the great Mallorn tree located in center of the forest.

"I bet you could fit your house, my house and the local pub in the bottom of this tree," Sam looked to Frodo as they stood at the base of the large tree. "And probably the Gaffers' as well!"

Frodo offered Sam a smile in return.

"Please follow me," Haldir called to them as he began his ascension of the grand spiraling staircase that wrapped around the girth of the tree. Over the staircase hung a canopy of vines and what could only be described as a crystalline that hung delicately overhead; crystal lanterns hung low illuminating their way as they climbed to the large talan above them.

They all followed closely behind the elves as the reached the main flet; Haldir in front of the group, followed closely by Rumil and Orophin. They bowed low as all eyes focused on a magnificent staircase leading to yet another level of the talan where they looked on to see Celebron and Galadriel descending from. The hobbits were in awe as the subtle "Lady of Light," now stood before them. A luminescence was about her that could barely be described short of saying that she appeared to be that of an angel before them.

"My Lady," Haldir stood before her now, head bowed with respect. She acknowledged him as he stepped away and now approached the group. They were gathered together, unable to move as they were in her presence.

"This wood has hastened your memories of home," she spoke now as she stood before the two fairies, "Kimber and Felicity," she smiled warmly at them. "It pleases both myself and Lord Celeborn to once again be able to lay our eyes upon our fairy kin, for it has been many ages since such has occurred."

Kimber and Felicity bowed their heads slightly to her, as they were both still taken back by Galadriel knowing of them.

"Kimber, you have come a long way, and now though entering this wood has brought about a yearning for your home you also seem to yearn for what you have never felt before; you are torn. Though a decision will be made regarding such matters", she looked to Kimber then to Legolas before focusing her attention to Felicity

"And Felicity, it seems as though your search endless for adventure has led you far into the forest of Lorien" she paused and looked to Haldir. "A decision that you now realize will certainly affect where you spend the rest of your days." She implied before turning and motioning to the stairwell behind her. "Rumil if you would be so inclined to escort Kimber and Felicity to the council chambers for someone waits for them there" Galadriel smiled at the two as they obediently followed after the elf; not knowing what lay ahead of them.

In passing the two looked to Galadriel once more who though they did not see her lips move heard her speak to both of them. "Daughters of Oberon, Ruler of the Fairy Realm, please be warned for difficult times lie ahead for the both of you. Keep of your strong minds and warm hearts and let them both guide you through your darkest of hours."

**********

"Well well well, what do we have here?" The two looked on in surprise as Epoloven came into view. "Some travelers from abroad," he sniveled.

"Epoloven what are you doing here?" Felicity gave him a questioning look.

"One might ask you the same, Felicity," he approached her now. She glared at him with dark eyes.

"Actually, I thought perhaps I might deal out your punishment and save you from the wrath of your father, but your procrastination to this wood has thwarted my plan and will now endure such," he raised a brow at them once more.

Their lips pierced shut at his words now as they looked to one another then focused on their father who now appeared standing behind them.

"Good Afternoon Kimber…Felicity…" his voice had an eerie calm to it.

"Father," they both acknowledged him at the same time.

"Yes, I am" he replied bluntly placing a firm hand on each of their shoulders. They stood motionless at the hand of his grip, "Come my lovely children, let us take a walk shall we?" he continued as he guided them out of the chamber and to their dismay, back to the great flet of the Mallorn Tree.

********

The fellowship marveled as King Oberon descended to the grand talan, with Kimber and Felicity walking along side of him. His face was handsome and chiseled with deep amber-gray colored eyes, bearing the likeness of Kimber's, which complimented his valiant golden robe.

"Let me begin with an apology for it seems as though my daughters have burdened your fellowship and harbored you quest," the King bowed his head. "Only know that you will be compensated greatly for your inconveniences and they will no longer be a burden to you."

The fellowship stood quite for a moment as each looked upon Felicity and Kimber who offered no _expression; save the sorrow that was now present in their eyes.

"Say something," Pippin whispered nudging Merry in his side. He was too afraid to do so.

Merry took a deep breath, "Your Majesty," all eyes looked to him in surprise, "We are the ones that brought them along, they didn't want to come with us," he offered.

"That's right we forced them," Pippin added.

"Well we didn't force them," Merry shot back in defense.

"You know what I mean Mer," Pippin insisted.

"What the hobbits mean to say is that they rescued them from some goblins and," Gimli began.

"Your highness," Aragorn offered, "they were of no burden to us."

"Yes they were," Boromir interceded.

Legolas' eyes shifted to Kimber now, what was going to become of this? After today he risked the chance of never seeing her again. That thought alone consumed his mind until he realized what he needed to do.

"Your majesty," he spoke quietly barely audible above the bickering now going on around him. "I love your daughter," he professed as his eyes now met Kimber's and then to the King's.

"You love my daughter, eh?" the King gazed at Legolas unflattering, "And which of my two daughters would you be referring to?"

"Kimber your highness, I love Kimber and I would like to ask you for her hand so that we may wed?" Legolas stepped forward to stand in front of him now.

"And why should I agree to a proposal from an elf such as yourself," the King paused to let out a low chuckle, "For I do not even know your name yet let alone your history!"

"Forgive my negligence your majesty, for I am Prince Legolas of the elven realm of Mirkwood," Legolas paused and bowed.

"So you are Thranduil's boy?" The King questioned him further as he examined the elf that stood before him.

"Yes your majesty, that I am," Legolas replied.

"I have been to Mirkwood before but that was many ages ago. Back then I believe it was known as Greenwood the Great…until those wretched spiders moved in and the whole forest went downhill! I never returned there after that," the King leaned in closer, "Not very fond of spiders!" he whispered.

"Yes your majesty, that is correct," Legolas nodded, slightly impressed that the king knew so much of his home.

"And now you would like me to give you my daughters hand in marriage?" the King stood up straight once more and glanced over to Kimber who's eyes were now beaming.

"Yes your majesty, I love her and I wish to marry her," he exhaled deeply hoping that the King's interrogation had now ceased. Looking around he noticed that everyone had grown silent waiting to hear the Kings decision. Well, with the exception of Epoloven who was now whispering into the king's ear. The King's brow that was once soft now dipped as his gaze hardened.

"No," he stared intently at Legolas before focusing his gaze on another in his presence, "As I have now been made aware by Royal Advisor Epoloven, that one of my daughters has already been defiled at the hands of an elf," The kings tone now caused the hobbits to inch close to one another. "And not once but many times since I have last seen her!" he paused now as Epoloven whispered in his ear once more. The King looked to Epoloven in disbelief as Epoloven offered him a confirming nod that what he had told him was true. The king turned to the group before him; his eyes flashed with anger, "And now I have learned that she now carries the burden of his child!" the king's nostrils were panned and his eyebrows rose as he looked to his daughter. All eyes followed his gaze from Felicity to Haldir.

"Felicity?" Haldir looked at her; though she did not return his gaze as she stood there, in shock looking down at her stomach.

"Be silent March Warden, know your place while you are in my presence. I will deal with you when I am through. For much has been revealed to me since my arrival; including your methods of "scolding" others," The King bellowed. Haldir bowed his head.

The fellowship remained quiet trying to absorb all that was going on around them now, with the exception of Legolas who broke the silence with his words.

"Your highness, have you not heard what I said?" Legolas half pleaded.

"I have heard you," he replied smartly.

"But I am in love with her your highness, I wish that we..." he began once more.

"And I wish that you would keep your lips closed Prince Legolas. Do you revel in the sound of your own voice there, son", the King replied sarcastically.

"Father please! Consider what he is saying!" Kimber now begged.

"Alright," the king tapped his chin a few times, "I have reconsidered it, the answer is still no!" he looked at Legolas.

"But…" she whimpered.

"But what?! But Father, I am soooo sorry for leaving the forest and cavorting with a bunch of elves, hobbits and men, is that what you were going to say?" he suggested harshly, "Or was it but Father Felicity and I deserve a swift kick I the…at any rate, might I strongly suggest that the two of you go to your rooms," he gave them a smile as only a father, who was going to really let them have it later, could. "And by that Kimber, I do not mean those quarters belonging to your sister, you will remain isolated from one another until I have had the opportunity to deal with the likes of both of you," she nodded and turned away, tears running down her cheeks.

"Oh yes, one more thing," the King paused to look at Legolas, "You my elf Princling are now forbidden to ever see my daughter again!"

The fellowship stood silent for a moment as Kimber and Felicity walked passed them, Merry and Pippin went to follow them but Aragon placed a hand on each of their shoulders and shook his head in discouragement.

Legolas stood there motionless, unable to speak. He looked after Kimber now as her body shuddered. She was crying, he could tell this by the way she drew her hands to her face. He watched as they departed the flet, Felicity guided her as they followed closely behind Orophin and one of the King's Royal Guardsman, Reitnor . He wondered if he were perhaps having a nightmare as feelings of despair engulfed him. As he looked around it was as though he were surrounded by mimes for he could see the lips of those around him moving but could hear nothing. A look of hopelessness came over his face as he watched the love; his love, depart from his life.

Felicity looked over her shoulder at Haldir who was now being beckoned to stand before the king, his head still bowed low. She placed an arm over her Kimber's shoulder as they now walked up the spiral staircase that would lead them to their bedchambers.

"Felicity?" Kimber's voice was barely audible as they walked behind the sentinel. "Legolas…" she gasped unevenly between sobs, "Why is this happening?" she murmured. "I love him…Father cannot do this…I do not understand," she continued, wiping her tear strewn face with her arms, "What am I going to do?" she gasped, "Did you hear what Father said?' Kimber's eyes were so puffy now she could barely see.

"Yes, I did, Kimber," Felicity looked somberly at her sister now. It pained her to see such hurt in her eyes. "Kimber, please do not cry, it will be okay. Father is just angry," Felicity was now consumed with guilt; she looked at the ground then at her sister then to her belly then back to Kimber "I am sorry, this is my entire fault," she sighed.

Kimber looked at her sister now, suddenly she felt selfish as she thought of her sisters circumstances, "No Felicity, I am sorry," she offered wearily.

Kimber do not be. Every action warrants a reaction. I am just sorry that this one has affected you," she paused for a moment, "Though everything I do seems to affect you in some way," a tear trickled down Felicity's cheek now as she looked at her sister, her friend, her confidant.

"Felicity, I just don't know what to do, I…" Kimber began; Felicity stopped, turned to her sister and embraced her.

"Kimber, please do not be sad. I promise you, I will take care of this mess," Felicity held her sister closely.

Kimber tears came freely once more as she hugged her sister, taking her words to heart, as they were the only hope that she had right now.

Felicity looked over Kimber's shoulder at Orophin who was now watching the two of them almost frozen in time; he offered Felicity a light smile, to which she offered him an artificial one before raising her brow at him as he and Reitnor suddenly bowed low.

"Your majesty," he offered. Felicity sighed hoping that the King had not joined them already.

"What is this? Why do my daughters weep so?" a smile came over Felicity's lips as she let go of her sister and turned to see her mother looking upon them.

"Mother!" Kimber sighed as she ran to her, melting into her arms as only a child needing unconditional love could.
