Everything You Want
Chapter 12:
Teach Me
Bella rolled over and poked Cole's unconscious form. No response. Not even a twitch. She sighed.
`Oh, this is gonna be fun…'
Kicking the blanket off of her, Bella rolled out of bed and came around to where Cole's feet were. Taking hold of the blanket covering him, she tugged. No response. He just kind of grunted and rolled himself into the pillow Bella was previously using.
Exasperated, Bella stomped her foot. “Cole! Get up! The alarm clock went off a half an hour ago! We are going to be late if you don't get your lazy ass out of bed RIGHT NOW! Cole? Are you listening to me?!
Cole groaned and sat up a little only to plop right back down moments later. “You're not even dressed yet,” he murmured sleepily, “It takes me like two minutes to your fifteen to get ready, Bell. Come wake me up when you're done…”
Bella huffed and scrubbed her hands over her face. “Fine.”
Snatching the clothes she'd laid out the night before from a chair, Bella started stomping her way to the bathroom only to be stopped by Cole's slightly amused voice.
“Um, Bell? Before you leave, could I…uh… have my blanket back, please?”
Bella let out an almost feral growl and threw the blanket on Cole's face. “I hate you.”
Cole could faintly hear her muttering something that suspiciously sounded like, “Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid…” before he drifted back into content slumber with a self satisfied smirk.
~Fifteen Minutes Later…~
Bella emerged from the bathroom, showered and fully dressed, with a determined look gracing the delicate features of her face.
“Cole…” she sang out in a syrupy sweet voice, “Time to get up, my love… Bathroom's all yours…”
Cole rolled over and popped one eye open. “Mmmm, five more minutes, k…?” Snuggling back down into his pillow with a sigh, he failed to notice the murderous gleam in Bella's eyes.
Stalking over to the bed, she snatched the pillow from beneath his head and proceeded to whack him in the head with it in time to her words. “Five (whack) more (whack) minutes (whack)?! Are (whack) you (whack) kidding (whack) me (whack)?! That (whack whack) is (whack whack whack) complete (whack whack whack whack) BULLSHIT (whack whack whack whack whack whack)!!!
“GET UP NOW!!!”
Cole laughed and attempted to shield himself from her repeated attacks. “Ahhh! Alright, alright! I'm up you crazy wench!”
Bella dropped her weapon and glared down at him.
“Geez, all you had to do was ask me nicely…”
~Fifteen Minutes Later…~
“Owwww,” Cole groaned as he rubbed the red marks adorning his bare chest.
Bella peered down at him from her perch atop his hips with a grin. “Well, if you would've just got up when I told you to, than I wouldn't have been forced to inflict bodily harm on you.”
“You're really violent, did you know that?”
“I thought you liked it rough?” Bella shot back with a sly smile.
Twisting beneath her, Cole flipped their positions and smirked down at Bella's surprised face.
Recovering quickly, she sighed and enjoyed the feel of Cole's lips and tongue upon her throat.
“We are going to be so late…”
Barely restraining the urge to jump up and cheer as the last bell of the day chimed the end of school, Bella collected her books and headed off to meet Cole in the art room.
Starting today, Cole had convinced her to take some extra tutoring sessions with the school's rather eccentric art teacher, Ms. McCloon. Not really minding much because she actually really liked the teacher and thoroughly enjoyed being in her company, Bella had readily agreed.
“Ms. McCloon?” Bella called as she stepped into the room, “It's Bella Campbell. I'm here to…” she trailed off as she spotted the woman she was searching for sitting Indian style in the middle of one of the tables, with what looked suspiciously like a Fisher Price xylophone in her lap.
“Ms. McCloon?” Bella laughed, “What are you doing?”
Snapping her head up, the young teacher blushed and attempted to hide the object she was previously playing with. “Oh, um, Bella… Hi, I was just…”
Bella cut her off with a wave of her hand. “Don't worry. I won't tell.”
“Oh, thank God. I don't think that Principal Foster would be amused to find out just what I do in my spare time, do you?” Ms. McCloon sighed as she smiled gratefully and scooted off the table to greet Bella.
Still giggling, Bella shook her head and put her books down. “No, probably not,” she responded as she pictured her stern principal's face after catching Ms. McCloon in the position she'd just found her in.
Laughing out loud at the image, Bella didn't even notice that Cole had come in behind her until he wrapped his arms around her waist and gave her a gentle squeeze.
“What's so funny, you two? What did I miss?”
The two girls just looked at each other and started laughing again. Cole scowled and stuck his bottom lip out.
“It's not nice to tell secrets,” he grumbled as Bella pushed him away with a snicker.
“Oh shush, you big baby. We're not laughing at you so don't worry about it,” Bella teased as Cole plopped down into a chair to glare at her. Turning his attention to Ms. McCloon, he grinned.
“I love your outfit, Ms. McCloon. What's the theme today?”
Bella took in the other woman's clothing with an amused chuckle. Her bright red hair was pulled back in a half ponytail with a sea shell clip that matched the necklace and earrings she was wearing. A sea foam, off the shoulder top paired with a long, flowing, greenish blue colored skirt covered in various prints of the ocean completed the ensemble along with a pair of neon green flip flops.
Ms. McCloon smiled brightly and smoothed some imaginary wrinkles from her skirt. “You like? I was going for the `mermaid' look,” she said with a girlish grin as she did a little twirl.
Both Cole and Bella burst out laughing at her antics as Ms. McCloon continued to twirl about the room. Finished with her solitary dance, Ms. McCloon closed the distance between her and the two teens with a serious expression on her pretty, youthful face.
“So, Bella, Cole tells me you're having some trouble in school. What can I do to help?”
Bella grimaced. “Well, I'm extremely close to failing Calculus, English, and History. I don't know what you usually tutor in, but any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.”
Ms. McCloon smiled brightly and winked. “You're in luck then, because not only do I tutor in everything, but I happen to love all three of the subjects you just mentioned!”
Bella blinked. `This woman is crazy. She loves Calculus? Who loves Calculus…?'
Cole pushed himself out of the chair and patted Bella on the shoulder. “Awesome. I knew you'd be able to help.”
“Of course, of course… Now, where would you like to start, Bella?”
She shrugged. “Whatever's good for you is fine with me. I don't really have a preference considering I hate it all.”
The older woman threw her head back with a loud laugh. “Oh, you're going to be fun to work with. I can tell already…”
Cole stood propped against the door way to the art room as he watched Bella and Ms. McCloon work.
`Looks like this is going to work out. Bella will have no problem getting her grades up with Ms. McCloon's help,' he thought to himself with a satisfied grin.
Looking up from the equation she was working on with Bella, Ms. McCloon observed the look of pure love Cole was projecting out to the younger woman beside her with a wistful smile.
`That boy is so in love, he can barely see straight. I hope someday I can find a man to look at me like that …'
Pushing away from the table, she tapped Bella's shoulder to let her know she'd be right back, and then headed over to where Cole stood gazing out at them.
Sideling in beside him in the narrow doorway, Ms. McCloon followed his stare to the girl she'd just left. “You love her, don't you?”
“With all my heart,” he replied without hesitation.
Ms. McCloon nodded and smiled a little sadly. “Be careful with her, Cole. I can tell she's very fragile and somehow I have a feeling that a lot of her happiness rests on your shoulders,” she commented thoughtfully, “Are you sure you're up for that kind of responsibility?”
Shrugging, Cole continued to stare at the woman he loved. “Do I really have a choice? If I love her, than I have to keep her safe. If she's not happy, than I'm not happy. That's just how things have always been with us.”
“She's a lucky girl,” Ms. McCloon said as she patted Cole on the shoulder.
Cole shook his head and sighed. “I'm the lucky one…” he whispered and then jumped when he felt a gentle squeeze on his back side. Looking down behind him, his mouth opened in an O as he turned his surprised eyes back to the woman beside him.
Removing her hand from its' previous place on Cole's butt, Ms. McCloon grinned shyly and met his emerald gaze with her brown one. “I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that.”
Laughing, Cole looked down at the crazy woman beside him with mock indignation. “Ms. McCloon!”
