The huge monster roared in anger as the two small abadoos ran for their lives beneath him. The girl looked up as the monster's giant head was heading straight for her. She screamed as the horrifying face drew nearer.

 

“NO!” cried the boy, running for the girl whose life was in danger. He drew a sword for the sheath around his waste and leaped through the air, jabbing the monster in the eye. The monster roared his head back and let out a blood-curdling scream. The boy, who had orange eyes, and orange stripes on his face, ran for the girl, who could hardly move from fear.

 

“Idiot!” he yelled, almost in tears, “You can't just stand there when he's about to eat you!”

 

“Flash!” she yelled, “I…”

 

Suddenly the monster, full of bitter rage, lunged toward them.

 

“Get down!” the boy yelled, pushing the girl to the ground.

 

“Ow!” she yelled as she hit, “stop, Flash…I don't want to fight anymore…we can't die like this!”

 

Flash took a fighting stance between the approaching monster and the injured girl.

 

“I may say I hate her…but…” “YOU CAN'T HAVE HER YOU JERK!!!”

 

Then the monster opened his mouth and shot an blast of energy toward them. The girl screamed and ducked into the ground. Flash knew it was too late…but he wasn't going to let her die alone. He leaped onto her, his back to the oncoming blast.

 

The blast made contact, blowing the earth away. Suddenly, a light shown from the ground, so bright I could be seen all over the small planet. Then two orbs of light rose from a gaping hole that had been left in the ground. A valley.

 

The valley that became known as Hizashi No Sawa. Valley of Sunlight.
