Part III- Hold me close

 

 

Hi my name is Sari I'm 13 and still in 8th grade but my life has gone from normal to an entirely new life in only 2 weeks. I met a boy named Chesu who turned out to be a demon he told me I was a legendary demon's daughter reincarnated from a priestess. I didn't believe it at first but then one of best friends Keitorin became a demon and tried to kill me! It seems that as Inochi's daughter I had exterminated millions of demons with Inochi that was till my mom Maya Go-Don killed me so to say. Then I was born as her daughter therefore now being the reincarnated daughter of the great and beautiful demon Inochi. Keitorin hates me and Chesu is keeping me safe till I am strong enough to be a good fight for him. I supposedly killed his whole family when I was Inochi's daughter. My friend Kuroe has always been weird and has drawn some pictures without ever seeing Chesu in his demon form, of him! She also drew one with a demon girl who turned out to be me in my demon form! I met a demon squirrel girl named Kaika who died while teaching me to find my form. I killed the demon that hurt her and now here I am walking to school. Luckily my friends Kuroe, Burianna, Arisa, and Arisu don't know about any of this neither does my grandma…

“Hey Sari!” Burianna's voice sang her name Sari turned and was suffocated by Burianna's hug.

“What's with you this morning Burianna-chan?”

“I don't know you've just been so distant lately I thought it was time to jump you”

“Jump me?” suddenly Arisa and Arisu came from the bushes and hugged Sari.

“Why the weird way to greet me?”

“Because idiot… IT'S YOUR BRITHDAY!” the 3 chimed together

“Tomorrow”

“Yes, yes we know that but still you need to be happy today”

“I am” Sari laughed but then took notice to the shadow watching her not too far away.

“Sari…?” Arisu waved her hand in front of Sari's face snapping her serious expression off and a happier look on.

“So what are you going to do to celebrate?” Burianna hung on Sari's shoulder as they walked the rest of the way to school together.

“My grandma wanted to take me to my mom's grave to say hello, then she was going to take me somewhere special. I think after that I was going to run to the library and…”

“The library!? No way you're going to come with us and have fun!”

“But…”

“No buts Sari since Chesu left you've been acting weird”

“Yes her true love has left her and now she does not know how to cope with the rest of her lonely life. Do not fear Sari I, Burianna, shall save you!” Burianna did a fake movie voice while standing like a superhero on the school steps. The 4 burst out laughing and walked to class. On the way Sari saw Keitorin and Kuroe talking, Kuroe waved hi and then Keitorin pulled her into a room.

Sari and her friends all sat near the window the other 3 talked about what to do tomorrow but Sari couldn't pay attention. She saw Kuroe walk in with a disturbed look on her face, she motioned for Sari to follow her out.

“Be right back you guys”

“Ok” Sari walked after Kuroe and was pinned against the wall lightly

“Kuroe?”

“Sari what's wrong with you?”

“What?”

“Please stay away from Keitorin and Chesu”

“O-k but why the sudden…?”

“Don't ask, just lately I've tried to talk to Keitorin then finally today she tells me this… I will kill Sari and I know you will be there when the time comes for this to happen. I love you kuroe but the truth must be revealed and the outcomes will be too much for you to handle. Stay far away form Sari and you will live, get in my way when I kill her… and I will have to kill you too. Keitorin is my best friend since birth, so I know how serious she is and she wasn't joking. I'm afraid she's really going to try to hurt you! And even though her and Chesu were far form friends he has to have something to do with it too so… I'm going to protect you no matter what and yes I know this is all weird but…”

“Kuroe… I love you so much” Sari hugged her friend trying to hide the tears that were swelling up in her eyes.

“I love you too Sari you're such an awesome friend to have but…”

“You can protect me if you want, let me protect you too” the 2 smiled at each other then laughed from the awkwardness, they went back into class both at ease.

 

After school Sari walked all her friends home then went to the library for a short time. It was her last day helping there and the librarian asked her to lock up again. Sari had seen Keitorin outside every so often and knew this was going to be the night when things would happen. She picked up the library phone and dialed Kuroe's number.

I'll let you protect me Kuroe but not until I protect you first she thought as Kuroe picked up

“Hello?”

“Hey Kuroe, I was wondering if tomorrow you could meet me at the library around 5?”

“Ya, what for though?”

“You wanted to protect me so… heh just kidding cause that's where I want to meet you all for my birthday”

“Oh so you want me to call the others?”

“Ya, ok well I have to go, bye”

“Bye” they both hung up and Sari sighed. She put the last books away and remembered the book she had started the first time she had begun helping here. She searched the shelves but couldn't find it.

“Must of gotten checked out, oh well” everybody had already left and Sari looked at the clock.

“Well time to go home” she turned off all of the back lights and headed upfront

“Keitorin can you please turn off the lights next to you” Keitorin stepped form the shadows shocked that Sari had known she was there

“Sure” she clicked the lights off and walked over to Sari who had already changed into her demon/hanyou form.

“You're very well prepared”

“I guess. Can we do this outside so we don't break anything in here?”

“Sure”

“Ok I'm just going to lock up” Sari had subconsciously changed back to her human form to locked up she grabbed her bag and locked the doors behind her. Keitorin sat on a light post waiting.

She's acting as if this is a game or something? What is with her? That's why I loved her though… that's why I want her dead

Sari closed her eyes and without looking felt Keitorin's presence now behind her.

“Keitorin…!” Sari opened her eyes to Kuroe's voice and pain stabbed her in the back.

“SARI!”

“Kuroe no!” Sari gave a hurt look “It's still so new to me, and so much like one of those movies I always wished were real…” she looked at the demon behind Kuroe and was lifted off the ground with Keitorin's claws in her back. Keitorin held her up blood dripping down her arm. More demons coming out of the shadows. Sari lifted her arm and pointed at the demon about to attack Kuroe. Kuroe jumped as something flew past her and a painful yell echoed through her ears. She looked at the creatures beautiful and ugly. She looked back at Sari who now had changed her appearance.

“Holy shit! Sari!” Kuroe backed up and felt strong arms wrap around her. She didn't have to look to know it wasn't a human holding her slowly the grip tightened the air squeezed from her lungs.

“KUROE!” Sari ripped open Keitorin's hand causing her to fall in pain she kicked the demon holding Kuroe and pushed her as gently as she could to the side near the library doors. Sari didn't understand what was happening but something in her did. She feared the desire of killing and became afraid and confused as the sight of blood and the feeling of murdering these demons pleased her.

“Your natural instincts Sari! You have become what your father was long ago!” Keitorin laughed and as Sari snapped off one of the demons heads she saw Chesu sitting in a tree nearby. His emotion was readable but confusing, he almost seemed sad of the fact that Sari was enjoying this death.

“No…” Sari fell to the ground

“Sari, you can't stop now, just look at all of this blood. You know you want it” Keitorin whispered in Sari's ear pulling her up by her hair.

“Keitorin!” Kuroe rammed head first into Keitorin's back and threw her to the ground.

“Kuroe no!” Sari tried to run after the stumbling Keitorin and Kuroe but was side tracked by another demon.

“I love you Keitorin you know I can't let you hurt Sari” Kuroe punched her dear friend and was thrown off and into a tree. Kuroe dipped into a bush but was quickly pulled out and thrown flat on her back on the ground. She coughed from the air release and looked up at Keitorin.

“I love you too Kuroe! I love you so much that I will not make you suffer!” Keitorin picked Kuroe up by her wrist and cracked the bone easily.

“NO!” Sari's scream could make your eyes bleed if it was any louder as she threw Keitorin back bending the light post.

“Kuroe why!?”

“I knew you didn't want me to be here tonight”

“So you came anyway!?”

“I don't want to loose you too”

“What?”

“I've lost my grandma my grandpa my dad my brother and my moms in the hospital. I don't want to loose you too”

“Kuroe… why didn't you…”

“Shut up!” Keitorin side kicked Sari, she wiped the blood off of her cheek and jumped into the air kicking Keitorin as she landed. Kuroe could only watch as the demons fought not even taking time to breathe.

Keitorin rolled in front of Kuroe and she fell to her knees trying to help her friend but was taken by surprise as a new demon appeared and lifted her up. Sari jumped up and wrapped her legs around the demon, she spun breaking the creature's neck. He dropped Kuroe who landed on top of Keitorin. Keitorin threw her off and Sari greeted Keitorin with a punch.

“Why are you hurting your best friend?!” Sari punched Keitorin again

“We both chose our lives, her choice was to help you!”

“So you have to kill her!?”

“I don't want to but it is what I was born to do!”

“To kill your friend!?”

“NO!”

“Then what!?”

“To kill you and anyone who gets in my way, there is no other choice I warned her and she still fights for you even though she is a weak pathetic human!”

“And yet she still loves you as a sister, how sick!” as Sari was about to throw another attack Kuroe screamed as yet another demon jumped at Sari.

“SARI!” Sari didn't have time as she was thrown against the stone steps of the library, blood trailed from her chin and poured form the back of her head. Kuroe slapped Keitorin before she could hit Sari but was thrown back by a stronger slap. Keitorin was in the middle of picking up Sari when Kuroe tackled her again. The 2 rolled on the ground and finally stopped with Keitorin's claws in Kuroe's stomach. Keitorin looked at her friend sad and shocked. But Kuroe still smiled and said,

“I still love you Keitorin” Keitorin turned into a human form tears washing the blood form her face and stinging her cuts. She pulled her hand form Kuroe and hugged her.

“Kuroe!”

“Keitorin I love you but…” Kuroe pulled out an army knife that she had hid in her back pocket and stabbed Keitorin!

“I love you too Kuroe!” the both of them cried dying for different reasons but ending at the same reason of their friendship and love for even an enemy…

Sari sat in shock as she watched the blood scene. Tears didn't come but didn't stop form within her. The 2 lived lives together and died together still both so young.

Sari saw Chesu retreat from the scene and she herself left, luckily all of the demons had become human forms but only to the human eye.

 

Sari didn't go to school didn't do anything except follow her still unaware grandma to her mothers grave.

“Grandma, can I talk to mom alone for a second?”

“Of course Sari” her grandma walked over t a small praying temple.

“Hey mom, I miss you so much and think about you all the time but… I'm a murderer even before this life… now my 2 friends are dead they died happy though. I wonder if you knew the truth about any of this. Did you know about Inochi, did you know you were once a priestess in another time? I guess I'll never know… I hope you aren't watching me from the heavens but please watch over grandma, I think it's safer for her if I disappear now. So that they don't harm her, or any of my other friends… I'm sorry for Kuroe's mom and so sorry for my friends. They must of just now heard about the news of her death. I love you mom please hold my friends close to you in the heavens…”

“Sari…? Are you done?” Sari turned and smiled at her grandma

“Yes grandma… I'm going to go pray”

“Ok dear” Sari went into the temple and her mothers smile faded

“Maya my dear, she has found out her truth her past. I fear the worst. Now I know I must tell her, please watch over her. I won't let her leave I promise daughter, that I will keep her safe.” Her smile then re-gathered as Sari came out of the temple. They walked together and sat in a green field for lunch.

“Grandma there's a school field trip to…”

“Sari your lies are horrible” her grandma laughed kindly

“Don't worry I'll be fine with you here, they won't harm me.”

“Grandma!”

“Oh yes of course I know about you and the demons. There is a reason I knew the Inochi tale. You are very strong Sari but, please do not hold back from your tears. If you do not cry you will not be strong but weaker.”

“Grandma…” Sari let go and the tears soaked her face, she hugged her grandmother and for almost a half hour let it all out. They finished lunch and walked down to a lake.

“You now your mother would always take you here after visiting your father's grave”

“I was wondering why it felt so familiar”

“Yes… this is also where you died you and your father from this time”

“What…?”

“When you were Inochi's daughter and Maya killed you this is where it happened. When you were reborn as Maya the priestesses daughter this is where you lived. This is also the place where you watched your father die… you probably can't remember for you were so young but…”

“He froze in the lake… we were skating and he pushed me out of the way as the ice underneath broke, he froze…”

“Yes…” her grandma hugged her and wiped both of their tears away.

“Grandma? Grandma!?” Sari held her grandmother up but her limp body was too heavy for her. She tried to lay her on the ground as easy as she could and listened for her heart. Then Sari noticed the blood… the blood coming from her grandmothers back. She looked up to see…

“CHESU!” quicker than she blinked she was in her hanyou/demon form attacking Chesu form every which angle. He easily dodged her and punched her in the stomach. Sari crumbled to the ground breathing for air.

“I was hoping you'd be stronger but I guess it was a false hope.”

“Why did you kill her!?” Sari looked up her eyes filled with tears

“Because I must repay all that you did to me”

“GOD DAMNS YOU CHESU! I'M NOT INOCHI'S DAUGHTER! I'M NOT Maya the priestess's daughter either! I'm Sari now! Why can't you see that I am not the same person who hated then I'm not the one who killed your family! You have no right to kill her!” Sari opened her eyes and all life drained form her body

“You killed my mother… they said something had shocked her but I heard… grandma said she was stabbed… why… WHY!” Sari threw herself at Chesu and hit his chest. Her salted tears staining his clothes. He just looked at her with no emotion on his face.

“You're so pathetic…” she stopped “So weak”

“No, I'm not the one who is weak. You didn't cry when they all died did you. Did you!?” she pushed him back but barely made him stumble or trip

“No…”

“I'm not the on who is weak you are! That's why you can't handle that it is the past! You're the one who is weaker here if you can't even cry!”

“Maybe you're right… it still does not change the fact that I told you I would kill you when you became your true form”

“Chesu… I only wish…”

“Just stop, if you think that this is a movie! A fucking game then you are way off little girl! You crying and saying that I am weak that I can't cry is not going to change me and make me love you AGAIN!”

“Again?!” her eyes widened and he froze his face stoned in anger and pain.

“You told me you loved me too. I believed you but then… I found you covered in my families' blood.”

“I didn't know”

“Of course you didn't you dolt! That's exactly what you said then!” Chesu pulled out a sword and cut Sari across the chest.

“Chesu…” he wouldn't listen but stabbed her in the leg (she's dodging most). “Chesu!” he went to hit again but she kicked the sword out of his hand and grabbed it.

“CHESU!” she struck the sword into his back and through his gut then into her own as she pulled him closer. His face was a horrified and shocked expression, blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. He looked down at her and her eyes were warm, blue mixed with gold and a sudden wind blew their hair together causing it to intertwine. She just smiled his eyes wide in shock.

“Chesu I still love you even though I am not the same as she…” she died in his arms and slowly he lost focus and fell to the ground as well as he saw her face…

 

She sat in a field filled with flowers of blood red and brilliant pink, she looked at him with her wild blue eyes and smiled. Her hair blew around her red dress as he walked towards her. They embraced in a heart filled kiss but he quickly drew back in horror as he smelled the blood of his life… his family.

“You killed… them”

“Who?”

“My parents… my brothers and sisters my family!”

“What no! I huh… they were your…? Chesu I didn't know”

“Liar! Liar! I can't believe I trusted you! The daughter of Inochi the hanyou that kills all demons! When were you going to kill me!?”

“Never! Chesu I love you! I swear I did not know that, that could have been…”

“You lie…” his voice slithered around her and she gasped as his sword thrust through her.

“Chesu…” a tear fell and mixed with the blood “I'm sorry… I truly still do love y…” her last words were whispered to the point that only demon ears could hear. She lowered her face and pulled the sword out of her.

“I hope that you, my love, can please forget me… please cry” she jumped back her blood turning the pink ones into matched red flowers as she disappeared.

“I will not cry… I shall hunt you down and kill you no matter how many lives it takes…” he walked away but left his own tear on the petal of a half red and half pink flower…

 

Well hope you liked it sorry I rushed it I wanted to make a better ending where Sari and Chesu lived and he confessed his love to her but… I have too many stories I need to finish so I hope this ending was ok! Plz review and tell me what you thought!
