Fan Fiction ❯ Hybrid: The Story of Kail Makai ❯ The beginning ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

This is my story, my characters, I own everything. If you've heard of a story like this before, they copied me, or I literally had the same imagination as them.

A boy stood in a clearing, completely taken aback by the events that had happened earlier.

(FLASHBACK!! Earlier today)

We find our 16 year old boy being hit by a bully; he'd just stood up for one of his friends.
"Leave him alone!" A girl struggled to pull the 11th graders arm off of her 9th grade friend.
"No, I don't think I will. He seemed to want it this way anyway, he wouldn't let you take the punishment, so this is his!" the bully said landing another punch into the red-haired boy's gut.
Suddenly, the limp boy caught the next punch, utterly surprising the upper-classman.
In an odd voice he'd never spoken before he said "That's enough!" his head looking up with fiery red eyes.
"What the hell are you?!" the upper classman said, afraid.
"Me? I'm human, angel, and demon." He said smiling.
"You're a freak!" the bully said.
A surge of energy rushed through the red-haired boy.
"Am I? Or am I just your worst fear?!" he screamed as he punched the older kid in the stomach, sending him flying into a nearby wall. He collapsed and didn't look like he was getting up.
"Kail? Are you ok?" the girl asked cautiously.
"Yea. I'm better than ok. What about you Lynn?" he smiled.
"I'm fine…how did you do that?" she asked referring to the upper classman.
"I don't know. Some power came over me. Uh…sorry, I need to be alone and try to figure things out." Kail said, turning to walk away.
"Uh, all right. Call me when you get home ok?" Lynn said, tilting her head and letting her long blonde hair fall to one side.
Kail smiled. She knew he loved it when she did that. "Okay, I'll go home soon."
Lynn smiled. "Okay. I'll talk to you then Kail! Thank you." She said, kissing him on the cheek and turning to run away quickly.
Kail rubbed his cheek, hardly believing he'd gotten a kiss from the girl who he'd had a crush on since the 5th grade.
As Kail slowly turned to walk away, he smiled.

(End flashback)

"Lynn kissed me." Kail smiled to himself in the center of the clearing.
"Ack...Gotta forget about that...back to the matters at hand." He shook his head of the thoughts and tried to concentrate the power that had overwhelmed him earlier.
Suddenly, two sparks of black energy shone in his hands, each had a unique symbol on them.
"Whoa…this is weird! Let's see now…One with a Sword and shield, the other with what looks to be armor…I wonder." he said softly as he put the hand with the armor-symboled energy symbol to his chest.
A black light now shone upon the area, armor completely covered his body, complete with gauntlets, greaves, and helmet.
"As I thought. Now for the equipment." he took another guess and split the orb into two halves, which transformed into a black long-sword and shield.
A third orb suddenly shot out of his chest.
"What the hell?" he picked up the orb.
"Are these…wings?" he tried to figure out the symbol with two angelic wings on it.
"Oh well, got nothing else to try." He placed the orb in his back, and two wide wings spread forth from his back.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! God…that hurt…” he looked at himself in the nearby lake. Wow…What am I?" he gazed at himself. To his surprise, it spoke back.
"You're a hybrid. A blood mix of demon and angel."
"A…hybrid?" he asked, confused.
"Yes. You do not understand it yet, but you have a far greater destiny than those around you."
"No way! I'm going to spend the rest of my life here with Lynn!" he growled at his reflection.
"Only one part of that is right." The reflection replied coldly.
"I'll never leave Lynn!" he yelled.
"You're right." It spoke.
"Well...at least I'll be able to protect her. How do I get rid of this armor?" he asked.
"Put your hands together, and say Return to me." The creature spoke.
He put his hands together and yelled. "Return to me!" the dark light shone once again, but now he was back to normal in his bloodied school clothes.
"Well…this is gonna be odd." He scratched his head and began the mile walk to his house.
