What the hell is this?
Josh didn’t know where he was. He could hardly see anything, for he seemed to be shrouded in pitch black darkness.
“Just an empty room...but it goes on forever. And it’s darker than hell in here,” he lamented to himself.
Figuring that he wasn’t going to get anywhere if he just stood around, Josh started walking slowly and cautiously ahead of him. Every footstep seemed to echo, every breath he took filled his lungs with cold, stingy air. The further he headed, the colder it seemed to get. His breath soon turned to whitish clouds as he exhaled, and he could almost swear that he saw snowflakes falling from above, even though there was no clouds, or sky.
It’s freezing over here...feels like my lungs are turning to ice...
After just a few more steps, Josh felt a thin layer of snow under his foot, and the snow wasn’t holding his own. His feet sunk slightly deeper each time he took a step, and now, he was ready to turn back. He turned on heel and then sprinted backwards, hoping to get away from the phantom snow, but the ground sunk even further. He slipped on the snow and braced himself for impact, but when he hit the ground, it sank right under him, sucking him down under.
What the hell is going on here? What is this place?!
Josh held his breath, expecting to drown as if he was in quicksand, but suddenly fell out of the substance and crash-landed on another solid surface. Rather than snow this time, it was ice. He gripped his head in pain, seeing a light trace of blood on the reflective floor.
“Damn...fuck...my head...cracked my fucking skull...” He tried to get up, but could hardly see straight after his severe blow to the head. He leaned back until he laid flat out and rested, going unconscious for at least an hour, maybe more. He couldn’t tell, with no sun or moon to try to tell time from. When he awoke, the blood had dried onto the ice, and his silver hair had crimson streaks going through it, appearing to be made by fingers or claws. He felt the streaks and pulled his hand away, some of the blood was more fresh than the rest.
“I’m not alone out here.” Josh gathered himself and staggered to his feet, his head still throbbing in pain from the hit. The moment he got to his feet, a cold wind blew through the area and a small child was summoned before him. Josh shook his head to make sure he hadn’t gotten brain damage. The child was definitely there.
“Follow,” it said, and then turned and walked slowly into the darkness. It disappeared from sight within seconds, even though the darkness seemed constant. Josh ran quickly behind it, trying not to slip on the ice. After just a few steps, he noticed that the darkness seemed to somehow get thicker, and in less than a minute, he couldn’t see any signs of where he was before.
“Listen kid...before I take another step, I want some answers...I want to know what’s going on here. What is this place? Where the hell are we?” Josh questioned.
The child had a perfectly emotionless face before, but an evil, fang-filled grin soon shown on his face. Josh couldn’t see, since the child was turned away.
“You’ll see.”
A bright, blinding light filled the room, rendering Joshes eyes completely useless for the moment, since his eyes now couldn’t adjust to the dark or the light. He stumbled around, trying to get his eyesight back to normal. He thought his eyes were finally adjusting, but just then, the room was completely dark in that instant. Blinded again, Josh fell over, feeling a light nausea. He got back up to his feet, but another bright light flashed, and he quickly tried to turn away from it. He could see things developing in the light, pieces of the darkness were taking form and walking into the light. Josh tried to shake his nausea and get a grip on the situation, but could hardly tell up from down. One of the shadows walked right towards him, and he stood his ground, ready to attack if it got too close. The shadow drew a weird looking, jagged blade, and Josh reached out to stop the attack. Unfortunately for him, his hand went right through the figure, and it stabbed him right in the stomach and turned the blade, gouging out some of his flesh as it retracted the blade. Josh fell to one knee, coughing up blood.
Ghosts...? No...ghosts aren’t real. Nothing seems real...just this pain...it’s fucking horrible...can’t even see...
The shadows were lining up, one after one, each one carrying some kind of sharp object. Josh knew he would be nothing more than a filet if he stood around.
“Gotta get the hell outta here...gotta run!”
Josh turned away and ran, but knew that he would almost freeze to death if he ran that way. He took a sharp left cut and hoped for the best, anything to get away from the murderous darkness. His wish was granted, somehow, he escaped the shadows that threatened to kill him, but once again, he was in pure darkness, and unable to tell where he was. The main difference now was that it wasn’t just cold.
Searing cold...right to my fucking bones...it hurts to move!!
Josh kept on running, blood spilling from his stomach, but now he was worried he would freeze to death if he stood still. As much as it hurt, he kept up his speed, trying to run faster and heat himself up, if he could. At the moment, it seemed like the only option. Before too long he was running out of breath, and the cold was taxing further at his already weakened body. His blood was frozen into his fur, but fresh, warm blood kept oozing out. Just as he was about to pass out, the child from before appeared in front of him, the evil grin on his face was now even more prominent.
“I like you...you’re fun to play with...and my friend will like you even more...” it spoke, it’s voice was sharp and cold.
“Who are you...who’s your friend...who did this? How do I get the hell out of here?!” Josh demanded.
The child shook slightly as he chuckled to himself. “You can kill me and my friend...or...”
“Or what?!”
“Or you can die.”
Josh felt guilty. He was going through hell, but at the same time, he still didn’t want to kill a child to free himself.
Besides, his friend could be even younger.
“Just let me out of here so I don’t end up having to kill a child. I’m really not in the mood to deal with this anymore.”
The child turned away again and walked off, tiny red shockwaves coming off of his feet with each step.
“Fine...like I have a choice...”
Josh followed behind the child, but nothing felt any different as he walked. The further he went, however, he noticed a greater change in the walls. They appeared to be glowing red at first, but later on, it looked as though the crimson glow was dripping down onto the floor.
I don’t like how this is turning out.
The child came to a stop and turned back to face Josh. His hands were at his sides the whole time, but now, they were gone. His long sleeves hung empty at his sides. Shortly after, long, sharp blades shot out of the sleeves, doused with blood.
“I know you want to get out alive. You act like you have a lot to live for. But I beg to differ. All the awaits you is a life of hardships, suffering, and misery. Betrayal will become so commonplace to you that you will lose all sense...you won’t even care because you’ll be so miserable. I’m doing you a favor.”
“No...you’re not. You making me suffer now. Letting me free would be like a dream right now. I have a fine life with Mary...and things will stay that way. Now stand out of my way, or I will kill you.”
The child was unable to hold back from maniacal laughter. “HA! You haven’t met my friend yet, have you...that’s just too bad. Hee hee...then again, maybe you have...”
Josh felt a deep pain in his heart, like someone had just put a hole in it. At first he was going to ask what the child meant, but he couldn’t. Overcome in a fit of rage, he charged the boy, unarmed and unaware. “SHUT UP! YOU’RE FULL OF SHIT!!”
Josh tried to punch the child right in the forehead and end it quick, but the boy’s blades quickly gnashed at his chest and shoulders, leaving several deep cuts before Josh could even reach him, and when he did, the blow to the forehead didn’t even knock the boy over. It just pushed him back a bit.
“What...what in the world...who could take a hit like that?!”
Ignoring his pain and wounds, Josh attacked again, this time managing to dodge the blades and landing a kick to the child’s temple, this time at least knocking him over.
The boy shook his head and felt a light stream of blood coming from the side of his skull. With how sadistic the boy had been before, Josh expected him to just lick it away, but instead, the boy dropped his blades and fell to his knees, crying aloud.
“Owww...it hurts...my head...what did you do to my head?!”
Josh was stunned. The child took a huge hit to the temple, and all it did was make him cry like a baby.
People should die from hits like that. Is something wrong with me?
“Yes. Something is very wrong with you,” said a voice from nowhere.
Josh looked around, and directly behind the child came a gentle moving figure. From his view, she seemed female, and her long hair bounced and swayed about as she stepped to the boy. She knelt down next to him and kissed him on the forehead.
“I’m sorry dear...this man shall not harm you ever again,” she said to the boy, who felt a warm reassurance from his friend.
“But as for you...harm shall become your existence.” She turned right to face Josh, but for some reason, he couldn’t see her face. She seemed to be shrouded in darkness, no matter how hard he tried to figure out who she was, or see her face. “All the boy wanted to do was play with you, and you hurt him. Now I shall kill you. And I shall make you suffer like you could never have imagined.”
Josh was trying his best to ignore the overwhelming pain that he felt. Covered in deep wounds and his own blood, his bones still frigid from the cold before, his skull cracked, and his energy gone, he felt like he might die just from standing. “In all the ways I’ve suffered today...I doubt you can do anything to make me feel any worse.”
The girl didn’t grin at all. Josh could somewhat see her face now, but couldn’t tell who it was at all. It was still heavily shadowed, all he could see was her dark and emotionless expression. She had several weapons at her disposal, and each one looked like it had been dipped in blood, little bits of flesh still hung from some of the blades. Rather than reach for one of those, however, she reached behind her, and brought out a chainsaw.
What...in the fuck... Josh thought to himself. Of course, the girl could still read his thoughts, and he didn’t realize it.
“A chainsaw. Ever seen one? They have plenty of uses...and I can guarantee that you won’t even want to hear the word ‘fuck’ when I’m done with you.”
Josh had tried to just use brute force until this point, but wasn’t going to risk anything else. He was getting ready to unleash his power, but suddenly felt empty. He finally figured out the problem.
“Shit...no...not now. This isn’t good...” he said to himself, almost like he was whining.
“That’s right...your powers don’t work here. You’re just a weak little pup who wants to be comforted...you’re in such pain and you feel so horrible. Time to make it worse.”
Josh sluggishly stepped back, about to run, but the girl was amazingly fast. Before he could take two steps, she was right over him. She brought the chainsaw down on his arm as crimson spewed in all directions, splattering on her face and all even more on his own. Pain like Josh had never felt before surged through his body. He dropped back, unable to stand on his own feet anymore. The girl stood above him, revving the chainsaw in his face.
“You’re pathetic. You don’t deserve to be called a man...I think I’ll take that right away from you.”
Josh tried to back away, but couldn’t move in time. The girl brought the chainsaw back a bit, and then dropped it straight downwards.
“And now I have.”
Joshes pupils shrunk to dots. He looked down to see blood spraying from his crotch, a pool of it already forming between his legs. He was so overwhelmed with pain that his vision was blurring out. A second look down sent a shock through his whole body, seeing his recent castration.
“Hm. You seem even weaker without your manhood. You’re even more pathetic than I thought. Oh well. I don’t think you can suffer anymore than this.”
The girl kicked his separate member aside and then brought the chainsaw up, getting ready for a vertical cut, right down his head.
“It’s too bad. Maybe if you weren’t so useless...”
Josh braced himself for an impact that would never come.
********
Somewhere in the real world, a poor, weak, tired, and frightened pup fell out of a bed, sweating and shaking. His pupils were no bigger than periods, and his breathing was quick and raspy. At his sudden reaction, a worried kitten looked up out of the bed and crept out, sitting next to him and hugging him tightly.
“My God...Josh...you look terrible...are you okay?”
“I don’t know...I’ve just never been so scared...and never been so happy to wake up...”
The shaking didn’t stop for a while. Josh had never been so frightened in his entire life, it seemed.
“Josh...please...calm down. I think you just had a nightmare.”
A nightmare...can a nightmare ever feel so real?
Josh tried to rid himself of his fear as he gently nuzzled Mary, her comforting touch and warmth meant the world to him right now. “Yeah...just a nightmare...”
Wow. I got a bit gruesome there. I guess I was using my writing as a bit of an outlet, sort of...but...that’s more of a reverse outlet. It’s an outlet, but also, kind of proving a point, and illustrating some of my thoughts...just in the form of a nightmare. Hm.
Hope you all enjoyed. Stick around for more!
