Journey of Hope

Everything is my own, Please be nice as far as criticism goes, however if you do have something about it that you don't like then don't flame, just tell me about it if you would.
This was written quite a few years ago now, but I just stumbled across it on my hard drive and I've began to patch it up, it's still not finished but I'm working on it.

Zak felt the movement of Tomato's limbs beneath him, he jumped as she began to walk out the door, her feathers ruffling and catching the wind. He felt his heart leap as Tomato's tawny wings spread out to their full incredible length, lifting the three of them into the air in a sudden amazing jolt. He felt the peculiar way that her mighty body rose up to the sky bit by bit, first her front half would rise followed by a swoop from her hind legs. Then finally bringing Tomato's entire muscular body to the same hight. Zak clung on tight to Tomato's brown and cream feathers for all he was worth, but just felt himself slipping further off her back.
"Trayant, I'm slipping off."
"Just let yourself relax, stop tensing your muscles and sit up straight, don't lean back." The calm tone of Trayant's voice told Zak that he was used to ridding a griffin. Zak forced his own tense body to straighten up and tried to make himself as loose and relaxed as possible, it was hard to relax when he knew that if he fell then he would end up smiling death in the face. And then he noticed her.
