Journey of Hope

Everything is my own, Please be nice as far as criticism goes, however if you do have something about it that you don't like then don't flame, just tell me about it if you would.
This was written quite a few years ago now, but I just stumbled across it on my hard drive and I've began to patch it up, it's still not finished but I'm working on it.

At last Tomato landed and feeling sick and queazy then Zak heaved himself off her back and threw up on the floor.
"I HATE flying." Trayant saw him throw up again as he gracefully dropped to the ground. Tomato's ears pricked and she gave a slight whimper as she swung her heavy head in the direction of the noise. She let out a low growl under her breath.
"What is it girl?" Trayant walked over and petted her strong muscly neck whilst Zak continued to throw up.
"Why on earth did you let my ride that THING?"
"Shhh."
"I tell you something, we won't be traveling on griffin back again any time soon."
"Zak, shut up."
"Why what is it?"
"That 'THING' has just heard something."
"Yeah. Well, it's probably a bird or something." Zak pulled himself together and wiped his mouth on his sleeve, he knew that Trayant hadn't been listening but he didn't bother repeating himself. He walked over to the edge of the cliff that they had landed on and looked around. "Umm Trayant. Why are we on a cliff?" Trayant finished seeing to Tomato, she had stopped whimpering now so Trayant saw no reason to fret, at least not until tomorrow anyway. Reassured that nothing was wrong he turned towards Zak and answered his question.
"We're not on a cliff, look up."Zak turned around and looked up muttering to himself.
"Not on a cliff. Ha! If we're not on a cliff then where are we. It looks like a cliff to me. It has to be an-OH GOD!!!" He stumbled backwards in surprise, they were standing on a little ridge and towering high above them was the rest of the large snow capped mountain. "Tr-Tr-Tr-TRAYANT!!! Why-are-we-on-a-mountain? Please-tell-me. Because-you-know-what-i'm-really-really-interested-to-know."
"You' re talking too fast. All your words are running into each other and I can't hear you properly."
"Okay. Let me put it in simple terms for you. WHY THE HECK ARE WE HALF WAY UP A MOUNTAIN!!??!? Is that simple enough for you Trayant?"
"Look we can fly back down on Tomato's back. We're in Gobi, I reckon I know where Nadia's going and we're taking a short cut over the mountains."
"Over the mountains," Zak was nodding to himself as if to try and convince himself that he was not dreaming. "So we're going to just, Fly over all these mountains."
"Yeah, right, exactly. We're going to fly. Got a problem with that Zak?"
"Ohhh. I hate you sometimes." Trayant turned away to get all of the bags off Tomato's back.
"We can sleep here tonight if you really don't want to fly."
"You expect me, to sleep up here. Uh-Uh! No! No way! I do not like heights!"
"Well then," Trayant stopped unloading there luggage and turned to face Zak, "we'll have to fly down wont we." He picked up the bag that he had just pulled off Tomato and placed it safely in a natural groove under her wing.
"No! I'll climb down if I have to but I'm not staying up here or flying. Got it." Trayant shook his head and tutted gently at Zak's stubbornness. He pulled himself up onto the griffin and watched Zak start to climb down the mountain, before kicking off.
