Chapter 2: Possible Problems

The afternoon wind blew softly over the cliff top and over the two demons as the negotiated their plan. "Are you sure Falica found the right place? This doesn't seem like a place where a legendary item would be kept..." Mioko looked at Chariku's labtop that held all the information that Falica had gathered on the rumor, skeptically.

"I know my sister. If there's one thing she can do right its get information." Chariku said full of confidence as he looked over the info one more time. "All we have to do is get the mirror from the shrine while the locals have their festival in the square!"

"Your still forgetting one thing, Chariku." Chariku looked at Mioko slightly confused. "Remember? Faeries have taken up residence in the trees around the lake. We have to find a way to get them out of the way before we try to get to the shrine. They could warn the villagers and ruin everything."

"Feh. We can just sic Falica on them. Ya know how she likes to catch faeries." Chariku went back to working on his labtop, not thinking any more of the possible flaw in their plan. Mioko shook her head slightly before she also went to work on her labtop.

"We still should be aware of the possible threat the faeries can cause. Even if we did send Falica to take care of them she couldn't handle all the faeries there. We should send your sister out to find out more about the faeries, maybe if they hold some kind of grudge against the townsfolk we can use it to our advantage."

"Mioko, you think to much." Chariku closed his labtop and stood up, holding his labtop under his arm. "Anyhow, I'll go ask Falica about the faerie thing. Maybe she already has information on them."

Mioko nodded. "And I'll go have a look around the valley so I can get it mapped. We might need to know the terrian for possible escape routes."

So both demons went off to complete their own agendas. In the valley, the townsfolk went about working on their festival, unaware of the plan. Every year the towns people would go to the shrine in the afternoon bringing small gifts for their deity and then return to the town square for the rest of the day.

Chariku entered entered the make-shift camp that was just outside the forest in the valley. His sister, Falica, was holding a net and chasing after a small glowing orb of light with wings as it flew past Chariku's head. Chariku ducked his head to avoid the swipe of the net as it went throught the spot his head was a few seconds earlier as Falica tried to catch the small winged creature. "Come back here you faerie! I'm not gonna hurt you, I'm just gonna stick you in a jar!"

Chariku backed a few steps away as he watched his sister try to catch the faerie fervently. He would never understand why his sister caught faeries and put them in jars. She claimed that they could provide good light and that they provided good luck. Falica achieved her goal of catching the faerie and headed towards her tent grining like a maniac. "Good faerie. All I need to do is find a nice jar for you...."

Chariku walked into the entrance of the tent and watched his sister grab a jar, poke holes in it, and stick the faerie in. He walked over to her after she put away the jar and was about to speak when she beat him to it. "So, you and Mioko finish working out any kinks in the plan?"

Chariku shook his head. "Actually we need you to go gather some more information. There are some faeries that live near the lake and Mioko thinks they could be a possible problem."

Falica nodded and gave a slight evil smile. "Faeries can be real trouble makers. But its nothing I can't handle! I'll get the information and a few soveniors...." Falica rubbed her hands in anticipation of catching more faeries. She had always been one in believing in anything that could bring good luck, plus she seemed to be attracted to the faerie's light.

Chariku sighed mentally and hoped with all his being the the leader of the faeries wouldn't notice any of the faeries that Falica took were missing. Falica had almost started a war against the faeries because of her fetish of capturing them in jars, and he didn't want a repeat. During Chariku silent thoughts, Falica had been throwing several items into a backpack, including: a net, lots of jars, and a few knives. Chariku knew exactly why she brought knives; one was to poke holes in the jars for the faeries and two it was for self-protection. One could never be to careful around some faeries.

Falica put on a safari hat and held a net in her hand. "I'm off! And if I find this camp a mess when I get back, Chariku, I'm going to use my net to kick your ass! You here me?" Chariku nodded and Falica smiled. "Good!" She then bolted out the door, heading in the direction of the lake.

Mioko continued to trek in the valley, her labtop being held in the palm of one of her hands as she used the other to map out the area. "This place has a lot of areas where one could get lost. It wouldn't be to hard to lose a mob of angry townsfolk if we needed to..." Or angry faeries, Mioko thought when she remembered that she had asked Chariku to get Falica to find out more on the faeries here.

Mioko brushed off the feeling that it might not have been a good idea to send Falica where there were probably a lot of faeries. She needed to focus on mapping out the terrian right now, not what could happen if Falica angered the faeries. She took a quick glance at the sun to get an idea of what time it was and noticed it was starting to set. She checked the clock on her computer, it read 6:37. Mioko closed up her labtop before heading back towards camp. Falica would probably still be off at the lake learning more about the faeries, so that gave her and Chariku time to work on their plan more. She wasn't going to miss an oppertunity to get what she had been waiting to find for so long.
