Fan Fiction ❯ M.Alice ❯ Escape to Wonderland ( Chapter 3 )
Rain taps the glass window. The sky is grey and cloudy. Lightning and thunder fill the atmosphere. Alice lies in bed staring blankly at the ceiling. She pulls her stuffed rabbit close for comfort. Suddenly the Stuffed toy stirs. "Save us!" its rasping voice mutters. Alice's eyes grow wide in shock and her mouth is agape. The drops the stuffed rabbit and slowly raises from the bed. Her eyes now serious. She slowly creeks open the door and peeks outside.
Dr Wilson is jumps off his bed from a scream filling the hallways. The insane children of the asylum giggle in their rooms and bang on the walls. He quickly looks in the rooms through the window as he sprints down the hall. He was close to Alice's room when he came to a trail of blood. The scream rang out again. He ran following the fresh trail. `I should've checked Alice's room! Why was the door open? Those damn orderlies!' he slowed his pace when he arrived just outside the kitchen. The trail led inside. He heard a gurgle as if someone was drowning. He turned to look inside and gasped at the scene. Before him lied one of the nurses lying dead in a pool of her own blood. Her face was now mush. Sliced and diced and her throat cut. The lights farther away flickered. He could see a shadowy figure lingering in the dark. It stepped into the light. It was Alice. She held a blade that dripped everywhere. "Alas! Tis my final day and I shall say goodbye
Yet I'm sorry to report this but you too must die…"
Before he knew it, Alice had stabbed him through his heart. Blood splattered at her face, at the walls, and the counter. He dropped to the ground. Alice stepped over to him and bent over to pull her blade from his chest. In the shadows, under the flickering light, Cheshire Cat appeared grinning as usual. He slyly walked toward Alice and leaped on the counter. He lay down and began his rhyming riddles and quips.
"You've done a grand job, indeed Alice!
Did you enjoy the gore filled malice?
I'll get to the point, we're running out of time.
Life isn't here to be spent on a dime.
We must depart to Wonderland at once!
Don't you dare stop and listen to your silly conscience!
The Queen has poisoned the land with her venom!
And now it is up to you to save us from pandemonium!
Follow your wits and what's left of your soul.
Call me if you need me to riddle your next goal."
With that, he vanished and left Alice. The insane children ran amuck, giggling, screaming, and running in circles. Alice swore she saw one doing cartwheels nude. She found her way out and walked far to the hills. She sat under a tree and closed her eyes. With her blade in hand, she squeezed it tight. The thunder and lightning had subsided. The rain made her hair stick to her face. As she thought of the Queen, her thoughts went wild. She muttered beneath her breath before she returned to Wonderland, "Its time to cut the deck."
