Fan Fiction ❯ M.Alice ❯ Welcome Back! ( Chapter 4 )
Mourning herself to sleep, Alice awoke to Cheshire Cat's voice.
"I see you're awake, do you feel better?
Have a look, cope a feel as this ground grows wetter.
Wonderland has been through a big change
I don't feel at home anymore, this is quite strange."
"The Queen did this? But how?"
"You're curious, what delight!
Find out yourself and make us all right." Cheshire Cat vanishes and Alice stands up, her blade still at hand.
"Oh dear! Oh dear! I'm going to be late!
This damn clock is causing me my fate!" Alice watches as she tries hard to jog her memory. The huge deformed rabbit jumped to a fast pace. "Now I remember! White Rabbit! Please slow down!" She runs to catch up to him.
"No time! No Time! I must hurry!
Fast I must go for my life I do worry!" He quickly ran ahead. All Alice could do was catch up. She manages to keep up enough to see him shrink and jump down a hole. "Damned rabbit!" She stops to catch her breath. "So much has changed! I can't believe this is really Wonderland! No flowers. No sunlight. Not even the slightest ray or beam. Has the Queen gone mad?!" Cheshire Cat appears.
"Indeed she has and soon will I.
You must save us, I would not tell a lie.
Fortunately, I've brought with me a potion.
I whipped it up with my intellectual notion.
Shrink like my faith, down the hole and far.
Do what you must, the matrix, just win this war!" Cheshire Cat vanishes. Alice drinks the potion and her stomach starts to hurt. Soon she shrinks to the size of a mouse and clutches the blade as she makes her way down the rabbit hole. She falls for what seems to be an eternity. Finally she lands like a slab of meat on the ground. Alice cocks her head up to look around and catches a glimpse of the hasty White Rabbit's shadow ahead. He looks the same as before, but now he wears a haunted look on his face. The ceiling drips and muck covers the walls. She takes her time getting up and walks cautiously through the path. Alice begins to focus on a dim light and follows it. At the end of the path, there is a clearing surrounded by mushrooms. Cheshire Cat giggles and slowly appears on top of a mushroom to Alice's right.
"The Mushroom Forest! Do you remember?
Farther down is too cold, like a night in December!
I warn you now of their thorns and fierce bite.
If you're not careful, you'll become their appetite.
Things aren't as they seem, if you do recall
Let this dream end with the Queen's downfall!" Cheshire Cat plops to the ground near Alice's feet and continues grinning. She walks on through the forest as Cheshire observes. She stops before leaving his view. "Have you not vanished yet? How surprising!" She turns around and looks at his face frozen with a cheesy smile from ear to ear. The cat just snickers. "Tell me, how do you still smile in a crisis like this?" Her forehead slightly wrinkles waiting for a response.
"My dear Alice, have you gone blind?
Chaos and anarchy has crippled my mind!
But don't you worry, nor do you fear.
It's not just me… We're all mad here!!" He laughs hysterically and vanishes out of sight. His laughter left her disturbed. Shaking the event off, she advances through the forest. Not long later, Alice sits and leans on a mushroom to rest. Taking a break for some time to think, she gives a long sigh and slumps her shoulders. Hisses interrupt her thoughts. Alice clutches her blade. "Who's there?" A roar from behind sent her leaping forward. She turns around quickly and the mushrooms came rushing out at her. Its teeth were as sharp as a piranha's and she sluggishly dodged them. They screeched and roared wanting to taste her blood. Alice cut the head off the first one and another managed to rips her delicate blue dress. She kicked it away and sprinted down the path. All of the mushrooms attempts to snag bites at her as she came their way. She spotted grassland ahead, clear of any mushrooms and tripped on an old tree's root. Alice fell hard. Her blade slipped out of her hand a couple of feet in front of her. Cheshire Cat appears and grabs her blade in his mouth then walks toward her.
"Bravo! You're still alive! It's surreal.
You must be exhausted from that ordeal." Alice reaches up to take back her blade.
"Listen close to my words, I strongly advise.
Avoid the blistering thorns if you are wise.
They'll shed your blood as deep as their petals.
A rose is pretty, but treats us like mentals." Cheshire Cat vanishes without another word. Alice gets up and stares hard at the huge roses before her. She takes one step forward and stops in her tracks. The roses' vines move wild and rapidly whipping angrily at Alice. Her arm gets sliced and she falls back.
AAAAAAND… I'll end the chapter just like that! R&R! The next chapter is coming soon!
Knucklesk0: Dang! You caught me! Though, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm just trying to fatten up the story. Thanks for reviewing!
