America Invaded

By: A Roses Blood

April 16, 2004

"As I said at the beginning of the year. These four years of American History is the most important. More men died during these four years of Civil war then any of the other wars American men and women have been involved in period." Coach Jones said halfway threw class cause some of his students had fallen asleep.

"Coach Jones why did the Civil war start. We've been told several different things by several different History teachers." Alex asked since she was interested in the Civil war.

"Good question Alex." Coach Jones said then stopped and looked at a couple of sniggering freshmen girls.

"Juliet is interested in war. Look out Romeo." They said once they noticed class had stopped.

"At least she has interests besides flirting with a man that's taken." Kevin said as he wrapped his arm around Alex's shoulder.

"Now people see why I hate having Freshmen in my class." Coach Jones said as he slammed a book down on the table of the two sniggering freshmen.

The two girls screamed when the teacher slammed the book down in front of them. "Now that these two are quiet. Contrary to popular belief, the Civil war did not start over slavery. In 1854 the Kansas-Nebraska Act eliminated the 36-30 line and permitted Slavery in every state and territory in America. The Civil war started in 1861 as you all know." he said as he walked back around in front of the class.

"So if the War didn't star because of Slavery what did it start for?" Kevin asked as he watched Coach Jones walk around the class.

"Well the Civil War started for several reasons. The south was where most of the money was coming from in taxes since the City's hadn't got completely established and became profitable yet. But 95% of that money being brought in by the south was being used to build Roads, buildings, and more city's for the north. There was hardly any money coming back down to help the south." Coach Jones said as he looked around at the class in front of him then noticed a lot of moving around out side the window.

"So the Civil war started over the same thing as the Revolutionary war against Britain right." Alex asked then her attention went out the window too where she saw heavily camouflaged men with guns. "Kevin…" She said grabbing his arm turning his attention to the window too.

"What's going on?" Kevin asked as he looked over to the window seeing all the armed men out side and he put his arm around Alex protectively pulling her closer to him.

"I have no idea." Coach Jones said as he walked over to the window and watched them for a few minutes then he saw the entire city police force entering the School parking lot.

"Come on let's get out of here!" Kevin said pulling Alex out of the class room when he saw a police car get blown up by a rocket launcher used by one of the guy's in camouflage.

"Right behind you Kevin!" Alex said as she kept up with him.

"Wait up Kevin, Alex." Jasmine yelled as she drug Darrel along behind her. The entire school was trying to get out of there now. Every where you looked you could see class room doors opening and student running. The teacher and staff are running with the students just wanting out of the building.

"Let's go you two!" Alex yelled back at Jasmine and Darrel as she watched them try to catch up. "Kevin where are we going?" she asked as she turned to look at Kevin who looked just as frightened as she is.

"I don't know just getting out of here!" Kevin said as he ran out the front doors of the school. Every student that had a car ran to it trying to make an escape. Other's just ran with their friends hoping they could ride or knew of someone that could give them a ride.

"Kevin they're shooting at the students now…" Alex said as she tried to keep up with him.

"Get in quick!" Kevin said unlocking his car jumping in and opened the passenger door for her to just get in. Alex shut the door and Kevin took off heading for the gates to the parking lot.

"Kevin watch it they're closing the gate." Alex said and saw Kevin look frantically for another exit.

"This is the only one I can get out Alex hold on!" Kevin said as he pushed the gas pedal more. "Get down Alex!" he said placing his hand on her head forcing her to duck under the dash so no one could see her.

"Where's Darrel and Jasmine?" Alex asked as she looked up at Kevin scared.

Kevin looked in his rearview mirror and smiled. "They are right behind us Alex don't worry." He said as he went through the gate before it could be closed. Darrel and Jasmine went through the gate too alone with a few other cars.

The back window to Kevin's car shattered as he laid his hand on hers while he drove, but she didn't say anything or move to sit back up. He glanced over at her so see her arm bleeding and her eyes closed

"What's wrong with Kevin. He's not paying attention to his driving." Jasmine said as she and Darrel watched Kevin doing something frantically to the passenger seat while swerving at little across the road.

"Alex must be hurt…" Darrel said in a worried tone as he watched his friends in front of him.

"She was fine when they got into the car." Jasmine said worriedly.

"Yes but look at the back window. She's been shot…but how bad is it?" Darrel said worry very evident in his voice. If he don't start paying attention they'll both be dead he thought.

"Alex come on wake up baby, please…" Kevin said touching her cheek lightly then he heard a horn from behind him and looked up into his rearview mirror to see Darrel trying to tell him to pay attention to his driving.

Kevin placed his hand on Alex's arm where she was bleeding as he started to watch where he was going. "Oh shit…" He said one he saw the road block up a head of them.

Kevin stopped his car and looked at the people behind the road block and noticed the American flag and just so happened to see his father and Alex's father arguing like usual. But he also saw all the gun's pointed at his and Darrel's car.

Darrel jumped out of his car and ran up beside Kevin's car caring something white as Kevin just looked down at Alex worriedly.

A high ranked man stood up and ordered the way to be cleared for the two cars then motioned for them to come through.

Darrel walked back to Kevin's car door and opened it. "Is she all right?" He asked worriedly.

"I don't know…I think she is…" Kevin said worried as well as he looked up at Darrel.

"Well go behind the road block they should be able to look at her wound." Darrel said and closed Kevin's car door then walked back to his car and got in. They both drove behind the line.

Kevin gout out of his car and ran around opening the passenger door and picked Alex up. He closed the door using his foot. "Hey she needs medical help!"

"This way!" An American soldier said as he started towards a building. Kevin adjusted Alex a little in his arms and started following the soldier.

"My daughter! What did you do to her you damn brat!" Mr. Darrnell yelled at Kevin as he ran over to his daughter and Kevin.

"Back off!" Darrel said holding Mr. Darrnell away from Kevin and Alex.

"That's my daughter!" Mrs. Darrnell yelled as she watched Kevin cary Alex into a building.

"What happened to her?" A doctor asked as he ran up to Kevin taking Alex's pulse.

"We were trying to get away from the High School when she was shot…I didn't know it had happened until she passed out." Kevin said worry evident in his voice as he laid Alex down on a table.

"Well form the looks of it. It's a combination of pain and her body being in a slight shock which caused her to pass out." The doctor said as he looked at Alex.

"Is she going to be all right?" Kevin asked worriedly as he sat down beside her and took her hand in his.

"Yes it just grassed her arm. Once the initial shock is over she'll wake up." The doctor said as he bandaged her arm after cleaning it a little.

"How's Alex, Kevin?" Darrel asked as he came in with Jasmine beside him and Mr. Jackson and Mr. Darrnell arguing be hind him.

"She's fine…" Kevin said as he glanced back at Darrel. "Oh would you two stop it! The High school's been taken over by a bunch of weirdo's and we barely escaped. Do you two even care!?" He said angrily as he glared back at their parents.

"Kevin…" Alex said in a low voice as she squeezed his hand lightly. "Please don't yell at them… She said when he turned to look at her. She smiled weakly at him.

"All right." Kevin said and sighed as he kissed her hand lightly.

"You've not allowed to talk to him Alexis Andromeda Darrnell!" Mr. Darrnell said angrily grabbing Kevin by the back of his shirt and shoving him away from his daughter.

"Kevin…" Alex said as she put her hand out towards Kevin.

"Yes?" Kevin asked as he grabbed her hand lightly and smiled at her. He moved as close as he could get to her as he squeezed her hand lightly.

"Don't leave me…" Alex said as she squeezed his hand lightly and smiled at him knowing he wouldn't leave her.

"I won't I promise." Kevin said then kissed her hand and smiled at her.

"I told you not to talk to him!" Mr. Darrnell said angrily as he grabbed her arm tightly.

Alex squeezed Kevin's hand tightly as she bit her lower lip because of pain in the arm her father had grabbed. Since it was the arm that was shot.

"Don't do that!" Kevin said angrily making Mr. Darrnell let go of Alex. "You're hurting her." He said in a worried tone as he looked down at Alex. "You all right Alex?" He asked in a concerned tone.

Alex looked at Kevin and smiled lightly. "Of course as long as you're here I'm fine." She said and smiled at him.

"Jackson keep this brat away from my daughter!" Mr. Darrnell yelled angrily.

"He's an adult I can force him to do nothing." Mr. Jackson said but glared at his son angrily.

"But I can. She's not an adult." Mr. Darrnell said angrily also glaring at Kevin.

"I'll be 18 in two weeks. Stay out of my life!" Alex said angrily as she looked at her father annoyed.

"I don't care. You're forbidden to ever talk to him, date him or anything else." Mr. Darrnell yelled angrily at his daughter.

"Is there a problem over here?" The doctor asked as he stopped beside Alex and Kevin.

"Yes!" Alex said as she looked into Kevin's eyes.

"No!" Mr. Darrnell said angrily looking at his daughter.

"Miss what is the matter?" The doctor asked as he looked at Alex ignoring Mr. Darrnell.

"This man is bothering me. He grabbed my arm and it hurts again." Alex said and glared at her father angrily.

"Sir you are going to have to leave." The doctor said and motioned to a couple of soldiers to take the man away as he started to look at her arm again.

"I'm her father." Mr. Darrnell said angrily as he tried to get out of the soldier's grips.

"What's you're name sir?" The doctor asked as he looked away from Alex to Mr. Darrnell.

"Steven Darien Darrnell Jr." Mr. Darrnell said proudly waiting to see what the doctor would do next.

"And your name miss?" The doctor asked as he looked back at Alex.

"Alexis Andromeda Jackson." Alexis said and smiled at Kevin.

"Can you prove that?" The doctor asked as he looked between Alex and Mr. Darrnell.

"Yes I can get our check book if you would like." Kevin said and smiled at Alex then kissed her hand lightly.

"Remove him please." The doctor said and waved at the soldiers still holding Mr. Darrnell.

The soldiers drug Mr. Darrnell out of the hospital building and threw him out. "Don't come back in here unless you're shot or something." One of the soldiers said as he blocked the door so Mr. Darrnell couldn't get back in to the building.
