No Possible Threat

Henry checked his equipment over one last time. Machine gun, grenades, an RPG for the really big lizards... nothing in this era could possibly pose a threat to him.
He wasn't actually sure when he was; he hadn't built the time machine. "Just send me to a time where I can bag a few dinos," he'd told Jake. "I'll show those fancy-pants paleontologists a thing or two." His old high school buddy had argued, but eventually agreed.
Something rustled in the ferns as he stepped out of the machine, and Henry immediately let loose with a stream of machine-gun fire. His target shrieked, and he swelled with satisfaction.
A moment later, all that remained in the forest was some crushed greenery and a small, furry corpse.
