Title: One in the Pheonix
CHAPTER 4:
Tamaran

LOG 2
After meeting the Teen Titans, they have promised to assist us in the rescue of Lyra. The one called Starfire is a stange person, indeed. Xanthos tells me that she is from the planet called Tamaran, a planet unknown to me. If she is from this planet, Tamaran, then how would she know the Ancient Tounge? That is not possible. Unless, Xanthos knows something that I do not.

Then, there is the matter of the demon child, Raven. Every time she stares at me it feels as though she is taking a look into my soul. I must be careful around her, and make sure that she does not see too much.

Although I trust Xanthos' word that the Titans will be the utmost help to us, I find it slightly hard to trust them. I guess that only time will tell me whether to do so or not. I must not be too hopeful. I must not let down my guard, for Talithia could be anywhere now that I have lost her… and you Lyra.

The Titan's leader, Robin, has begun right away to search the cosmos with the help of Xanthos. The ones called Cyborg and Beastboy have begun to pass the time with a strange training device that they call `a video game'. They have asked me to join them, but I have declined, for I do not know how to work such a device. I must not get deter from my task. In the words of Beastboy, I need to, `chill'. However, I must find you…

ELSEWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE…

`Ahh… the planet Tamaran…” Talithia sighed, “Merely a planet of legend. But it seems the legend has come true.” The little girl dressed in white in her arms shuddered at the sound of her voice.

Lyra Pyros knew that this was not a good sign, she did not know or understand why though. She fearfully looked up into the face of the Blue Goddess. “Idiot child, you do not know of the legend! One of the Tamaranians is the one that shall bring up the True One.” Lyra still had no idea what Talithia was talking about. Who is the True One? She thought.

BACK ON EARTH…

It was nighttime. Most everyone in the city had gone to sleep, except for the few hundreds who were the constant night owls of the town. Such as the people who liked to party all night long. There were other kinds of people who liked to party to a different kind of music; that of destruction and chaos.
“Oh, man! Why did Cinderblock have to pick one o'clock in the morning in order to so this sort of thing!” Beastboy complained.
“Next time, we'll just ask him to make an appointment.” Raven said in her sarcastic way.
“He's a block head, BB! What'd you expect?” Cyborg answered.
“We'll just have to make quick work of him, then, won't we?” Robin pointed out, “Star! Let him have it!”
Starfire threw a few of her starbolts at the offending Cinderblock who was in the middle of breaking into a bank by the time the Titans showed up. As the dust cleared, Starfire was startled to see that Cinderblock appeared unscathed, considering the fact that he punched her. Starfire was sent back through the far wall.
“Well, that didn't work.” Raven stated.
“My turn!” Beastboy changed into a tyrannosaurus rex and charged. But Cinderblock pushed up against Beastboy's enlarged nose to hold him off. Cyborg ran up Beastboy's tail, over the head, and sent a well-placed punch to Cinderblock's startled face.
However, this did not phase the stone man. He picked up a large piece of rock and hurled it Cyborg's way. Just before it hit him, the rock got this black glow around it from Raven's powers: she had stopped the rock!
“Thanks, Rae!”
“No problem.” Raven replied and sent the rock back over towards Cinderblock who leapt aside to avoid it. Robin was waiting for him. Robin jumped down from the ceiling and grabbed around Cinderblock's neck. Cinderblock tried to pull Robin off by his feet, but Robin held on all the tighter. It hurt like hell, but Robin hung on tightly. He tried to cover up Cinderblock's eyes with his gloved hands, but with Cinderblock pulling on his feet, it was harder than he thought.
`Shall I assist our friend?'
“No, Xanthos. He is moving too much. We cannot risk harm coming to Robin.”
`As you wish.'
“Sakrea Lyrion Kaeyea!” Kaelyn felt the familiar hilt of his sword form in his left hand. He sent power flowing through the blade, the sword hummed with a pinkish glow as a result. Kaelyn ran towards Cinderblock, sword in hand. He swung downwards and hit Cinderblock with the flat of the blade. He did not wish to kill, only to stun.
Starfire came back just in time to see Kaelyn charge with drawn sword headed towards Cinderblock, with Robin still clinging for his life. “Kaelyn, stop!” But she was too late. Kaelyn had already hit Cinderblock. Luckily, Robin had seen the attack coming and jumped free of Cinderblock just as the stone menace was flung back with the force of Kaelyn's blade. Cinderblock crashed through the wall of the bank and landed outside on his back. Raven then used the surrounding lamp posts to tie up the unconscious Cinderblock.
“You didn't have to do that, Kaelyn,” Robin approached Kaelyn who appeared to be breathing hard from the exertion of using so much power and strength.
“You were in trouble. I could not stand by and watch you get hurt.”
`But you could have done something different with your power.'
Kaelyn glared at the phoenix, “Must you lecture me?”
`It is my—
“Don't tell me that! You always—
“Kaelyn, it's useless to waste your energy on arguing.” Raven put in before Kaelyn could let loose the slight power she felt stirring underneath his calm emotion. At this advice, Kaelyn calmed down. Raven had a point. He knew that if he let loose too much anger there might be dangerous consequences for planet Earth.
Raven appeared beside Kaelyn, “I know that you're stressed over your sister, Kaelyn. But we need to find Talithia first. And using you power to blow up half the universe to do it, might end up destroying her as well.”
“You do not have to tell me that.” Kaelyn walked away from the others in the direction of Titans Tower.

LATER…
Starfire placed a hand on Kaelyn's shoulder, “Forgive me, but—
Kaelyn turned to face her “We should have found her by now, Starfire!”
“It is not your fault. You could do nothing to save her at the time---
“But there were so many things that I could have done to save her!”
`You must not think of the things you could have done. You should concentrate on what you plan to do.' Xanthos perched himself on Starfire's shoulder.
“You must not blame yourself, Kaelyn. You must blame Talithia, for is the one who has caused all this badness to happen.”
`Koriand'r is right. You must stay in control. You must not let Talithia take advantage.'
Kaelyn stared at the rising sun over the bay. Lyra, where are you?

IN THE BASEMENT…
In the basement, Robin and Cyborg were attempting to locate Talithia on a tracking device the Cyborg had made, with the assistance of Xanthos. “I don't know if it'll work on a goddess, but it's worth a try.” Cyborg had said when he had finished the modifications on an old device.
“Well, there's one way to find out if it works or not…” and Robin turned on the machine. Thus, the search began.
So far, they had found nothing. NADA, ZIP, ZERO, NOTHING! It was starting to get on Robin's nerves. Each time he came back to look at the screen it was like looking at a blank computer screen, which is what it was…A BLANK COMPUTER SCREEN! Like I said before, it was getting on Robin's nerves. It was almost as frustrating as trying to figure out Slade's true identity. Well, maybe not that annoying…
Suddenly, while multitasking on some other project, Robin had this strange feeling that something was about to happen, like a premonition. Something strange. Now this feeling was interrupting his work. All at once, a dream popped into his head.
… a waking dream?
He saw a planet…he had only seen it once before… What was it called? He could not remember… He saw a small girl…dressed in white…with dark brown hair… she looked sort of like… She seemed to be…trying to…tell him something…but he couldn't hear what she was saying… There was no sound coming from her mouth…as if she were mute…
Then, all of a sudden, a fire-y coldness overcame Robin. He felt on fire, but freezing at the same time. Then he snapped out of it at the touch of a hand on his shoulder. He was brought back to reality by the voice of Raven.
“You saw it too?”
“Saw what?”
“The vision of Tamaran.”
“That was it! The planet in--- Never mind.”
“We have to tell the others.”
