Concrete Angel
Proudly standing in a town square
Surrouned by nothing but air
Standing tall, free of hate
Rooted to the ground by only its weight
Rough, still unworn by societies lies
Its cold and solemn face never cries
Farther away, ready to fly over the ruthless sea
Yet, unnoticed, except by only me
Like I, seeing through mysteries eyes
Standing alone, thought assumptions always arise
Protecting her children like no other
A vivid reminder of my mother
Reminding me of what life is
A symbol that I need not forget this
I have fallen under its spell
Of a concrete Angel
