Fan Fiction ❯ Run away ❯ Loves gone wrong ( Chapter 3 )
~~Chapter 3: Loves gone wrong…~~
Andy hardly spoke to her father for the next couple of days and every time she did it was either to ask what was wrong or to defend herself from her father's harsh words.
"I don't get it Michelle. He was so nice before high school started then he turned into a monster! I mean I never do anything right, I'm never home, or I'm home too much, or I'm to messy…and if that's not it, I'm too clean! I never can do anything right for him!" she sobbed into her friend's shoulder. Her friend rubbed a comforting hand up and down her back.
"It'll be ok. Don't cry, it'll be ok. If need be, you can come live with me till your dad gets help. I'm sure it's just stress. He'll calm down. Please stop crying, everything will be ok." Andy pulled away and wiped at her eyes as she spotted Mike walking down the hallway. Seeing him and remembering that humiliating night made her burst into a fresh wave of tears. Michelle clutched at her friend trying to get her to calm down. After a few minutes Andy was able to calm the sobs that racked her body. "You gonna be ok?" "Yea. I know exactly how I'm gonna take care of the situation. I…uh…I gotta go get fixed up and get my stuff ready for English." With a short smile she turned and sprinted to the bathroom. She touched up her hair and fixed her make-up before walking back to Michelle. The rest of the school day passed by uneventfully. The day seemed like it would never end. Finally her sixth period bell rang and she sprinted off home. She dropped her stuff off, making sure they were in her room so her dad wouldn't yell at her again. She shucked off her dirty school clothes and hoped into her work uniform, and pulled her hair up into a high pony tail for work. She grabbed her keys and a few dollars for the bus, since her father now forbade her to drive the car since she was "such a bitchy person". Grabbing her heavy jacket since the bitter cold weather had now settled outside, she jogged to the bus stop. She was two minutes late to the counter and shucked her jacket off on the coat rack just inside the small room for the staff. One perk to working for your best friend's father, no hassle if you're a couple of minutes late. She grabbed her plastic bin and headed for the specified tables. Time went quickly until her best friend stopped by, she was a wreck and she seemed really pissed. She walked straight up to Andy and smacked her hard making her drop the few glasses she was holding in her hands, effectively shattering them. Andy stared at her friend in disbelief. Not only had she never been hit before, she'd never been hit in public or by her best friend for a reason she didn't know. "What was that for? What is the matter? You look terrible." She tried to sound calm but couldn't help the waver of voice, as result of the building tears.
"You BITCH! You know very well what that was for! And to think I was comforting you this morning while you went behind me and did this!" she smacked her again.
"Wait, what did I do? I have no idea what you're talking about. Please explain to me. And no more hitting, I don't want to have to hit back, and I don't like to be hit!" she said blocking the next hand flying at her face.
"You bitch! He left me because of you! He left me! I loved him and he left me saying he didn't care about my feelings, and that he only got with me to make you happy and to be closer to you! You stole him from me!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, attracting the looks of the close customers. Andy grabbed her hand and dragged her outside away from the eyes of the customers. Once they were safely outside she questioned her friend again.
"Who are you talking about, I haven't stolen any one! As you can see, I've been too busy with this job, school, and my father constantly yelling at me, I didn't do anything!"
"Johnny! You bitch as if you didn't know! He left me for you, you piece of crap! I'm never going to speak to you again. Don't even think of calling or studying or anything with me because you cut me deep! I hate you, you slimy piece of scum!" and with that she burst into tears and took off running down the street. Andy stood dumb founded, Johnny and me? No way, he's like my brother. I don't see him like that; he's just a friend I wonder who said all this crap? She walked briskly to the kitchen and found Johnny taking an order down on a pad of paper as he listened to the phone receiver. She waited patiently until he was done and then questioned him severely.
"What is this about you leaving Michelle?" he looked up at her with a look of disbelief. "She came over hear and smacked me because apparently someone told her you guys broke up and that you were leaving her for me! Explain now!" she folded her arms across her chest and waited for his explanation. He took a deep breath before answering her.
"We did break up. And as for the other part…it's all true. I love you, Andy; I have since the seventh grade. I just worked up the nerve to tell you. Look I'll talk to her and tell her not stand in the way of us. You don't have to worry about her, I just got with her because she reminded me of you and I thought it would make you happy. She's too skinny; I like my girls with your figure. Not all bone, but not fat either." He pulled her into a hug and wouldn't let go. She struggled and pulled out of his grasp to look him in the eyes.
"Look, if you didn't like her, don't hook up with her because of me. Johnny, I love you, but not the same way you love me. You're like my brother. It would never work out. I'm…I'm sorry." The look of utter most hurt and anger flashed over his face.
"It takes me four years to tell you that and all you do is reject me without giving me a chance? What a bitch! I can't believe you and all the things I've done for you, I get you this job, give you rides to school, date your friend so you would be happy that she has a boyfriend. And what do you say? No." he glared at her and stood there.
"Wait, I go this job on my own. Uncle Rick wouldn't just give it to me because you asked him to. As for the rides home, no one asked you to, you just show up. Dating my friend for me was a cold and heartless thing to do!" she turned and stormed out into the front area, and noticed her shift was over. She sighed happily and set her apron down on the counter before signing out and leaving. Before she hit the bus stop, he uncle came running up.
"Andy! Andy wait!" he shouted as he ran to catch up with her. Once he caught up with her he gave her a solemn look. "Andy, I think it'd be better if you stopped working here. The commotion with Michelle just got us a lot of complaints. I hate to do it kiddo, but you're fired." Her jaw dropped at the news.
"But Uncle Rick. It won't happen again; she won't talk to me again let alone come here when my shift is on. Please, Uncle Rick, don't fire me, I need this job." She said trying to hold down her tears. He frowned and shook his head and turned to leave. He walked all the way back into the restaurant before the first tear fell. She got home and went into her house to listen to her father yell at her more. She fell asleep with tears in her eyes and sadness in her heart.
