Fan Fiction ❯ Sacred Past ❯ Chapter 2 ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Hey this is Lyric. (Duh!) Anyway Im really slow but reviews make me faster. I hope someone likes my story but hey I just started writing, not like I have great imagination. Now this is about....alot of years later I donÕt know elvish years but Legolas would look around 18 or 19. Aron 28 or 29. Thranduil of course looks like himself. Does anyone know how old they are, that would help me. Oh and Aragorn and the fellowships ages. Thanks for your time. (No ones reading?) ::cries:: Im ok. ::Smiles::
Sacred Past
Chapter 2
A howl from within the forest signaled the end of the moon hour. That which followed the howl was a voice.
ÔRun, wolf warrior, to ends eternal
Through the wreckage of the death of the day
Scent of silence under starlight spinning
A captured beast within a human skin
Are you searching for long lost landscapes
Lit by flowers and crystal cascades?
Where the lamb lies down with the lion
Where the wolf is one with the wildÕ
Every morning the voice filled the air as the sun rose. All of the residents of Mirkwood new that voice and who it belonged to. They welcomed it and the angle who sang it.
ÔRun, wolf warrior, through kingdoms' chaos
Senseless cities and ghost towns towering
Howl, O hunter, though few know you're crying
Face upturned into that midnight moon
Are you hunting for mystic mountains
Where the air is like liquid laughter?
Where the beasts inherit the earth
Where the last again will be firstÕ
In a tree, near an opened window, sat a figure enjoying the warmth the sun brought with itÕs presence. His voice flowing in the air.
ÔRun, wolf warrior, to hide your hunger
The rain will wash away the pains of the day
In your eyes there are cold fires burning
Tongues of flame that can never be tamed
Are you running from Man's delusion
Majestic madness and your exclusion
To where the lamb lies down with the lion?
Are you running down ancient pathways
Through this dark and deserted land
To where old is once more a youth?
Are you running to freedom's fortress
By the side of wide open seas
Where the wolf is one with the wild?Õ
His voice slowly faded.
ÔRun, run, run, run, run, run, run,
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run on, run on through the rain
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run on, run on through the rain
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run on, run on through the rain
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run on, run on through the rainÕ
Until his voice was completely lost in the blowing winds.
ÔLegolas!Õ
He look around trying to find the person who had called him. As he looked down he saw his brother, ÔAron.Õ
ÔCome on Legolas, get down from the tree, breakfast is all readyÕ
Aron said smiling up at his brother, as Legolas jumped down from his tree ÔIt was a beautiful songÕ
Legolas blushed ÔThank you...let us get breakfast, Im starvingÕ
Aron laughed, ÔYou have got to be kiddingÕ he said as they made their way to the dinner hall, ÔYou eat like a hobbitÕ
Legolas whacked him over the head ÔNo I donÕt, your exaggeratingÕ
They arrived at the dinner hall and saw their father waiting for them.
ÔGood morning my sonsÕ Thranduil said as he went to hug his sons.
ÔGood morning father...father do you think I eat like a hobbit?Õ Legolas asked his father.
ÔOf course notÕ Legolas smiled at his fathers words Ôyou eat more and seem not to gain any weightÕ as his father finished his words he frowned. Thranduil and Aron laughed as Legolas soaked. ÔI do notÕ As he said these words he realized he sounded like a child. They all had a great laugh.
ÔEnough, let us have our mealÕ Thranduil sat with a smile on his face. For life was getting better for the family and the future of Mirkwood never looked better. They discussed many things at the table, telling stories about anything they were told the day before. ÔAurora had her young yesterdayÕ Legolas was excited as he told his father.
ÔReally? Do you know what you will name itÕ Thranduil asked.
ÔNot yet, but he needs a strong name...-Õ
A servant interrupted their dinner, ÔMy lord, a message has come for youÕ
Thranduil didnÕt like it when he was interrupted, when he was spending time with his sons, ÔGive it to me laterÕ He said waving his arm, dismissing the servant. The servant stood nervously at the door. ÔBut my lord, itÕs important,... it comes from RivendellÕ
Thranduil was about to loose his anger but then heard it came from Rivendell. He frowned at this news. He made sure he cut all binds from the other lands but then again Elrond was always insistent. However he never complied with Elrond's suggestions to try and mend the bond between the races. Time has past and no matter what, ThranduilÕs mind will not waver. ÔVery well bring it to meÕ At least Elrond knew to send the message by eagles because Thranduil had made it perfectly clear he wanted no outsiders in his kingdom.
As he received the letter the servant waited by the door for further instructions. Aron and Legolas looked on with interest as their father opened the message.
As Thranduil read the letter his face went from surprised, fear, to anger. Thranduil rose form his seat, ÔAron you and Legolas go do the things you wish, for today there will be no studies.Õ
Both of them looked at their father with surprise. Thranduil was very hard with their studies and right now their father canceled it.
ÔFather is everything aright?Õ Legolas asked, he worried for his father. And his instructions had to mean something was wrong.
ÔEverything is fine, I will tell you both the news later, I have to take care of this first. Now go.Õ
Aron and Legolas left the dinner hall and went to the stables where Legolas was anxious to go.
Thranduil watch them go and turned to the servant. ÔYour dismissedÕ As the servant bowed Thranduil headed for his chambers.
He arrived in his chambers and locked his door. He walked towards his fireplace already lit. Thranduil sat in his chair faces the burning blazes of the fire. He look back to the letter and reread the letter.
Lord Thranduil
I have just received news of a finding, and although I wanted to send a messenger, I have remember you preferred this way better. Though IÕm worried this will not find you, I must take that risk, for this news is of great importance. Information was told to me that Ôthe ringÕ was found. The one ring which was suppose to be lost, it was found by a hobbit named Bilbo but now lays in the hands of a younger hobbit. This information was told to me by Gandalf and was concurred when that hobbit came to Rivendell. I called for a meeting. I asked many others to meet at Rivendell, for the fate of Middle Earth is not for me to decide, but for all the inhabitants of Middle Earth. I ask for your attendance as well.
Elrond
Thranduil knew he had to meet Elrond for this was a serious situation. If the one ring was found than the Dark Lord will be looking for it. Elrond you idiot this might have fallen into wrong hands. He thought as he crumpled the paper. He threw the ball of paper into the fire.
End of chapter two
Hope someone enjoyed it. Anyway who ever did pwease review. The only one who gives me comments is my sis. But I really think she is just being nice. Just to tell you sheÕs writing a really great fic look her up Carinito. Now where did I put my brain. I canÕt find it! ::Cries::sniff::sniff:: Oh itÕs in my head ::smiles:: hmmm I smell cookies. Someone must be baking. Gotta go and steal some cookies. hehehe
