The air seemed stiff, as the skies were black. She gazed around and raised her hand an inch away from her chest. Soft blue eyes darting around as she was trying to find the light. Her face was squinched up like a baby without its mother. Gazing down to the ground, she backed away in fear as she saw a white, silvery glow in front of her feet.
"Kairi!"
Her head shot up quickly as his voice rang in her ears. "Sora!"
He stopped in front of her quickly. She gazed into those darkened pools of sapphire that she could drown in for years. His eyes held concern and worry, but before she could ask what was wrong, the ground beneath her jolted violently, causing her to fly forward, and grab his hand tightly. The white, silvery glow started to fade as she floated back, still holding his hand.
"Kairi! Remember what you said before? I'm always with you too. I'll come back to you! I promise!"
"I know you will!"
Kairi would never forget that moment as long as she lived.
For in that moment…Sora let her go…
-
Kairi shot straight up in bed as cold sweat rolled down her ivory skin. She took several deep breaths before placing a hand over her face, her fingers catching some of her red hair in the process. Shaking her head lightly, she moved to the side of the bed and slipped on her house shoes while grabbing the silk, purple robe. Standing on unsteady legs, she walked out to the balcony of her home. It was time for some fresh air. That dream had haunted Kairi ever since she had to see Sora disappear into a white cloud of nothingness two years ago.
Two years. Kairi mused as she sat down in one of the chairs. It only seems like yesterday we were all together. Joking around, building the raft…
It had taken everyone time to adjust to the new life without their two friends around. Sora's parents had taken the news hard, as did Riku's mom and dad. Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie had refused to believe the two teens had gone missing, but Kairi knew what happened to them. She remembered everything. Ansem, the Heartless, and Kingdom Hearts. The scenes replayed in her head over and over so vividly like someone had pushed a repeat one button on her mind.
So many things had changed in those two years, including Kairi herself. She was now sixteen years old, almost seventeen. She had grown taller, much to her liking. Her sleek and slender legs had attracted many of the teenage islanders. Her hair had grown also - the ends touching the middle of her back. Her body had matured in those two years. She was well endowed, that was for sure. Having gone from an A cup to a C cup in less than two years had also gotten the attention of the boys.
Kairi had been so deep in thought that she didn't hear the person behind her until a hand was placed on her shoulder. Kairi jumped up and turned around ready to fight whoever had snuck up on her. She frowned slightly, "Dammit Kaze, don't do that. You scared the living daylights outta me."
Kaze rolled her ice blue eyes and shook her head. She placed a hand on her hip, "You need to stay aware of your surroundings, Kairi. You never know, I could've been a Heartless."
"Very funny," The red head sat back down as Kaze sat beside her, "Any particular reason why you're up?"
The older girl shrugged her shoulders, "Not really. I got up to get some water and saw you out here. So, I decide to scare ya for the hell of it."
Kairi gently pushed the girl's shoulder in a playful manner. Kaze Yuki had arrived on the island shortly after the incident with Kingdom Hearts, claiming that the two key bearers had sent her to Destiny Island. In a way, Kaze reminded Kairi of Riku. She was strong and confident, not to mention sweet and caring. Her snow-white hair was always tied back in a braid as her intense ice blue eyes were slightly hidden behind her bangs. It was because of her that Kairi had gotten stronger.
The red head glanced up at the stars. The way they twinkled in the night sky reminded her of Sora's eyes when he smiled. She looked over at the other girl, "Hey Kaze?"
"Hm?"
"Do you think they're out there? You know, Riku and Sora?"
Kaze sighed, "How many times have you asked me that question?"
"I dunno. A lot, I think."
"And how many times have I given you the same answer?"
Kairi heaved her shoulders and slumped further down into the chair. "It's just…I miss them so much. I never got to tell them goodbye. I never got to…"
"'…tell Sora how I truly feel,'" The younger girl frowned at her friend's antics. "I know, Kairi. You've told me that umpteenbillion times. Enough is enough."
Kairi sat in silence after being berated by her trainer and friend. Kaze, sensing that she had hurt the younger girl's feelings, reached over and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Look Kai, I'm sorry I said that. I didn't meant to go into 'bitch rage' mode," She smiled in a sisterly way and continued. "Even if Sora's not with you in body, he's with you in spirit. Don't forget, he held your heart in his body for the longest time. He loves you. "
Kairi's face drained of all color as her soft blue eyes widened, "How do you - "
"How do I know? I'm not an idiot, you know. I saw the drawing in the cave. Besides, who do you think told me to come train you? Certainly not Ansem," Kaze laughed whole-heartedly as she stood and raised her arms over her head. "I'm going back to bed. You should get some sleep too. Tomorrow's an early day for you, missy."
Kairi frowned. She hated waking up at five in the morning, but she had become adapted to it over the last two years she had spent with her older friend. Having talked so much about her feelings towards Sora stirred up the question about the white headed girl's past. Before Kaze had left the room, Kairi turned around in her seat with a debatable look in those blue orbs.
"Have you ever been in love?"
Kaze stopped momentarily in her stride. Her shoulders tensed up as she let out a shaky breath. Her head turned to the left slightly. Kairi gasped when she saw that her friend's eyes held no sort of emotion. Kaze's answer was cold and stern.
"That's none of your business. Now go to bed," The slamming of the door noted Kaze's departure.
Kairi raised one of her eyebrows at Kaze's actions. Of course, her friend had always seemed a bit harsh, but that look and tone of voice was definitely a first. The thought left her mind when Kairi turned around and looked back up at the stars. It seemed they glowed brighter day-by-day. She smiled knowing that Sora and possibly Riku were out saving worlds together, with the help of Donald Duck and Goofy.
Before deciding to turn in for the night, a star streaked across the sky. Kairi blinked once, but closed her eyes quickly and folded her hand in front of her chest. I wish that, for one night, I could show Sora how much I love him. Please…let me show him how much I care…
She sat in that same spot, with her hands folded over her chest and tears brimming in her eyes, for ten minutes. Hoping, praying, and begging that her wish would come true. When she finally decided to get up and go to bed, it was close to midnight. She shook off her robe, hanging it by the bed, and sat down on the bed as she slipped off her house shoes. She took one final glance outside before closing her eyes, forcing her impatient body to rest.
-
Kaze had been so angry with Kairi that she had completely forgotten about getting a glass of water. She stormed into her bedroom, throwing her body on the bed. The curtains were closed, letting no light into the small, plain room. She rolled over on her side and frowned. The nerve of that girl. I cannot believe she asked me such a stupid question. Of course I don't love him…
The nineteen-year-old sighed and propped up on her elbow. She knew her feelings for that man were more than friendship, but would she ever admit it to herself? Hell no. The moral code inside her mind still resided. She needed no one. Not now or ever. Her life was better off without a man trying to boss her around.
After spending five minutes propped on her shoulder and trying to get her tongue unstuck from the roof of her mouth, Kaze got out of bed and headed towards the kitchen downstairs. She descended the stairs quickly, but stopped. She looked around the darkness of the living room and kitchen as chill bumps appeared on her light brown skin. She quickly shook her head of the thought. I'm just being paranoid.
The kitchen was quaint - only big enough for the two people living in the house. The clatter of glasses was heard as Kaze reached into the cabinet. She pulled out a clear glass cup and filled it up with water. The cool liquid sliding down her throat instantly brought relief to her voice and the condition of dry mouth. Once finished, Kaze turned around to go back upstairs, but was stopped by a familiar voice.
"Hello Kaze. Long time no see, ne?"
Even in the darkness, the sheen of silver-blue hair seemed to glow. A blindfold hid his beautiful, aquamarine eyes. In her surprise, Kaze gasped loudly and dropped the cup. As the shattering sound echoed throughout the house, the man of darkness ran forward and embraced the girl tightly.
-
The body under the covers stirred slightly as the shattering noise and Kaze's gasp resounded through the house. Kairi sat up in bed and looked around her room. She threw the covers off her body and practically jumped out of bed. She bent down and reached under the mattress for her weapon, a plain and simple katana. She unsheathed her sword and stood up, but stopped and stared out on her balcony.
His tall frame was outlined with the iridescent white light of the moon. Chocolate brown hair stood in every direction, just as it did all those years ago. His sapphire eyes shown as brightly as the stars in the sky. The muscles in his arms and legs had toned over the past two years. He took a step forward as his heavenly voice sounded in the room.
"Kairi?"
The sixteen-year-old took a step forward, dropping her sword on the ground. She blinked once and rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Sure enough, when she reopened them, she drowned in those pools of sapphire. Without another thought she dashed towards the silhouetted figure in the balcony way and embraced him tightly as she buried her face in his shoulder.
"Sora!"
Sora's arms tightened around Kairi's waist and rested his cheek on the top of her head, "I'm sorry, Kairi. I had to see you."
Kairi gently pulled away from Sora and caressed his cheek. She smiled as he leaned into her touch, "I missed you so much, Sora. I…I didn't get a chance to…" Tears formed in the corners of her eyes. She gasped when Sora wiped them away with his finger.
"Please don't cry, Kairi. I've been through enough hell. Seeing you cry only brings torment to my heart knowing I was the one to cause your sadness," Sora leaned down and kissed the last of her tears away. He smiled gently down at the woman who had claimed his heart.
"Oh Sora…" Kairi couldn't resist temptation any longer. She rose on her tiptoes and placed her lips over his.
Surprise was etched all over Sora's face as Kairi's lips touched his. He was even more stunned when she absently ran her tongue along his bottom lip. Glowing sapphire pools closed as he wrapped his arms around her and allowed her entrance. The red head moaned on his lips as his tongue touched hers, sending sparks of electricity down her spine. Sora's hands ran along her back and through the soft tresses of hair. The two eventually pulled back both breathing deeply from lack of oxygen.
"So much has changed since you've been gone, Sora," Kairi said happily. Trying to forget the kiss they just shared. Even though she loved the feel of his lips on hers, she knew Sora wouldn't want that. "Tidus and Selphie finally got together. The two were bound to eventually. Wakka's still the big brother type. Always making sure I'm okay. Oh! I live with a friend now. She says she knows you and Riku. Speaking of Riku, is he okay? How are Donald and Goofy?"
Sora raised a hand to silence her quickly, "Riku is fine. He's doing quite well, considering that he technically can't see anymore. He was corrupted in the darkness and nearly lost his sight. He can only see in dimly lighted rooms. Thankfully he can still sense other people's presence. Donald and Goofy are normal. You know, Goofy messing things up and Donald correcting him. And about your friend Kaze, yes, I know her. Riku knew her before I did though. Said he met her somewhere, but didn't give me all the details."
Kairi sat down on the bed, smiling. Happy to hear the good news, "You're mother's going to be so happy that you're back! I can't wait to tell her! Come! We have to go and see her." She jumped up quickly and headed for the door.
"NO!" Sora reached out for Kairi and turned her around, causing her to crash into his chest. "Kairi…I'm sorry, but I can't see her. Just…tell her I love her for me, will ya?"
"But Sora…you're not going to stay?"
The brunette sat down on the bed and patted the seat next to him. Kairi sat down reluctantly and looked deep into his eyes. He was looking at her sympathetically. Sora took Kairi's hand in his and rubbed it gently.
"There are a lot of things going on right now that you wouldn't understand. The battles are getting worse. Riku and I are trying our best to hold the forces of darkness back, but they just keep getting stronger. I don't know if we'll be able to make it through this one."
Kairi stared at the man she loved in disbelief, "Then why did you come back? If the other world's are in trouble, why did you come back?"
The moonlight cascaded through the windows causing an eerie glow on the scenery. Sora's face was outlined with that light, and, in Kairi's eyes, he looked like an angel. His lips were pursed together as his sapphire orbs found her soft blue ones.
"I didn't come back to stay, Kairi. I came back to see you," He stopped to take in a deep breath and continued. "I love you. I've loved you since you came to the island all those years ago. Being without you for two years has been hell and I just couldn't bear to live with these untold emotions. I know you probably think I'm crazy, but-"
Kairi couldn't contain her excitement when she heard those words come out of his mouth. She jumped into his arms and crashed her lips onto his in a heated kiss. Sora fell back on the bed with Kairi on top of him. Her small hands ran under his shirt, through his hair…she wanted to touch him everywhere. She couldn't get enough of him. Sora pulled her back gently and looked into her soft blue eyes. He appeared confused and Kairi thought he looked absolutely adorable.
"Kai-"
She hushed him again with another kiss, "I made a wish, Sora. I wished with all my heart that I could see you and show you how much I love you. Even if it's just for one night…even if you do have to leave…"
Sora didn't want to see those tears. He refused to let her cry again. He quickly grabbed her shoulders and flipped her over, so that he was on top of her. He kissed her hard, causing a groan to surface in Kairi's throat. His ungloved hand ran up her thighs and under the silk material of her nightgown. He pulled back from her lips, reluctantly, and started lightly kissing her neck.
In that moment, Kairi thought that she had died and gone to Heaven. She had always dreamed of Sora kissing her like this, touching her, making love to her…and it seemed that her dreams were about to come true. She ran her fingers through his soft, chocolate brown hair as he placed those hot, fiery kisses on her neck. Sora's hand kept ascending up her gown until he reached one of her breasts, but stopped when he realized what he was doing.
Sora pulled back from Kairi and stood up, shaking his head, "Shit." He cursed himself and his stupid hormones. "Dammit…I'm sorry, Kairi. I didn't mean to do that. I just wanted-" Sora shut himself up when he saw Kairi standing on her knees, lifting the nightgown over her head, leaving the young woman clad only in her purple panties. Her rosy pink nipples hardened under the cool breeze from the sea. Sora gulped loudly.
"Holy hell…"
Kairi smiled seductively at Sora as she dropped the nightgown on the floor. She reached out and grabbed Sora by the collar of his sleeping shirt, causing him to fall forward onto her. She wrapped her long legs around his waist, which caused Sora to instinctively grind his hips into hers. She moaned loudly.
Sora frantically tried to get up, "Shit, Kairi. I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry," The sixteen-year-old looked at him through hooded eyes. His cheeks were flushed red from embarrassment as he tried to hide that fact from her. She smiled sweetly and kissed his right cheek. "I want to show you how much I care, Sora. I want you to be with me. I want you. All of you. Nothing more and nothing less."
Sora's cheeks brightened when Kairi started placing gentle kisses on his neck, moving up to his ear. She started nibbling on his ear lightly causing Sora's problem to resurface. Kairi wrapped her legs tighter around his waist, moving her hips back and forth over his ever-growing arousal. She stopped her ministrations for one moment to whisper into his wet ear.
"Stay with me tonight, Sora. Make love to me till the sun comes up."
Shit, damn, and fuck. The key bearer thought as he felt Kairi continue to brush her hips against his arousal. He clinched the cotton sheets tighter and tighter every time the woman beneath him would start the torment of his being. The minute Kairi lightly blew in his ear was when he lost all of his self-control.
Sora placed both of his strong, muscular hands on Kairi's shoulder as he gently pushed her away. He looked into her eyes for one second before placing a passionate, bruising kiss on her lips. Sora's battle worn hands ran up Kairi's bare thigh stopping to run his fingers across her already wet cotton panties. He broke the kiss, but lingered on her lips her a moment.
"It's not nice to toy with a man who's in desperate need of attention, darling," His voice had gotten much deeper. The passion and lust from the kisses had finally shown through.
Kairi smiled sarcastically as her hands traveled down the front of Sora's plain t-shirt, "I'm so very sorry. Does the baby need a kiss?" Her tiny hands had made their way up his shirt, running the tips of her fingers over his chest.
The keybearer frowned slightly as Kairi's hand massaged his chest. He reached down and grabbed the sides of his shirt, lifting it over his head. The beat of his heart increased as Kairi placed gentle kisses on his neck and collarbone. Instead of complaining, Sora let his hand slide under the elastic string of her panties, slowly brushing the tip of his finger over her jewel of pleasure. The red head shuddered under his touch. She wrapped her arm around his neck. He crashed his lips onto hers for another lust filled kiss, but the brunette didn't stop his torturing session yet.
Kairi could've screamed when Sora delicately thrust his hips into hers. If it were possible at the moment, she would've ripped his boxers clean off his body, but she couldn't. Since Sora's back was arched, it wasn't physically possible to reach behind him and relieve him of his cage. Instead of ripping them off, she reached down and pulled the elastic band back and released it, causing the brunette to yelp out of surprise. Kairi held back her laughter. Sora's face held no amusement whatsoever.
"That wasn't funny, Kairi," Sora hissed. He should've been mad at her, but he couldn't help it when his lips curled up at Kairi's smiling face. He instantly felt relief from his short-lived pain as Kairi ran her tongue across his bottom lip slowly. Kairi went from innocent, sweet girl to sadistic, vindictive woman.
"Sora," Kairi whispered his name huskily and whispered in his ear. "I want to feel you. Let me help you."
Sora's face turned bright red again and he stammered with his words, "Uhhh…with…ummm…with what?"
Kairi smiled seductively and tugged on his boxers. She noticed his face got brighter and she sighed, "Relax, Sora. I don't bite."
Shit, damn, and fuck…again. The brunette nodded his head and stood up, but how he didn't know. His knees had seemed to turn to jelly several minutes ago.
Kairi smirked as Sora reached down with shaky hands, pulling his boxers down to his knees. Her eyes widened at the bare sight of him. She smacked her lips once due to the sudden occurrence of dry mouth. She winced at the sudden pain from her maidenhood. This is gonna hurt…
Sora could see the worry in her eyes. He knew she was worried about this. What if she got pregnant? The only method of preventing that was to stop right now, but stopping would mean hurting Kairi's feelings. She told him not two minutes ago "I want you". He looked down at the ground and clinched his fists. He loved her with his mind, body, and soul, but proving it was hard. He closed his eyes and whispered softly.
"Kairi, we don't have to do this if you don't want to. I know you're worried about it, but if you're scared, just tell me. I'll stop."
The sudden contact between the two made Sora jump lightly. Kairi's arms wrapped around his naked body, and he could feel her hot breath on his neck. She stood up on the tips of her toes where she barely touched her forehead to his. Sora's face flushed with color again as he realized that Kairi had removed her last article of clothing while he had been staring at the ground, contemplating on whether or not to stop his actions. His boxers had long before fallen to the ground and come off.
"Sora," Kairi said softly, "I love you. There's no one else in this world I would want to be with at this moment except you. You are the keeper of my heart. So tell me, what am I to you?"
Sora had realized at the moment he was fucking insane for thinking he should stop. It took him a minute to finally wrap his arms around her small waist. Eye contact was made seconds before he kissed her softly on the lips. He nudged her towards to bed, and watched as she lay down slowly. He climbed on top of her and positioned himself at her entrance. He placed both of his forearms on Kairi's side as to keep his full weight off of her. His sapphire eyes found her soft blue ones again before responding to her question.
"Everything," He drew in a deep, shuddering breath before kissing her again. He slid into her slowly, but stopped when he reached her hymen. He pulled away from her lips as she buried her face in the crook of his neck. Without giving Kairi a single warning, he thrust his hips forward.
That's when a muffled, high-pitched scream emitted from Kairi's throat. Tears streamed down her face, soaking the pillow. Sora couldn't help but feel a tug at his heart seeing her face like that. So, he did the only thing that seemed logical. He pulled out of her body and slowly re-entered. Kairi's face still mirrored pain, so he did it again while kissing her tears away.
I thought this was supposed to be pleasurable! Kairi's mind screamed. She knew Sora was trying his best to keep her mind off the pain, but it just wasn't working. It hurt like hell. They were both inexperienced teenagers who decided to explore the wonderful world of sex. Wonderful world my ass. Her mind screamed again. It just seemed that the pain wouldn't subside.
But then her body reacted. The painful sting of her maidenhood being penetrated soon faded as Sora's slow motions increased in speed and strength. Kairi looped her arms under his, running her fingernails down his back from the sensational feelings. She felt her body tense up for a second before she finally let out her first real reaction.
Sora tried his best to keep from slamming into her after the pleasure filled moan that escaped her throat. Dammit, Sora thought as he was trying to control his body. His mind wanted to take Kairi's feelings into consideration and not hurt her, while his "other" body part objected thoroughly. The minute he had finally gotten control, Kairi's legs wrapped around his waist and her hips moved forward as he was pulling out. God damn!
She threw her head back on the pillow and let out a small scream of pleasure. The intensity of that scream caused Sora to ram his hips into hers violently. She screamed again. God…he loved hearing her voice like that. He wanted her to scream like that again, but he knew that Kaze would have a heart attack if she were to see him here with her. He pushed the thought out of his mind when Kairi's hands left his back and clutched the cotton sheets tightly.
Riku is with her… hopefully. He'll take good care of her.
"Harder…"
Sora was snapped back to reality when Kairi's pleading voice reached his ears. He looked down and bathed in the sight that was below him. She was covered in sweat, her chest heaving up and down, her eyes slightly closed. She caressed his cheek lightly before leaning up and capturing his lips. He lifted himself up higher, not much though, and thrust into her body again. Although her scream wasn't as intensified in volume, Sora still loathed in hearing it.
And he never stopped making her scream. He fulfilled what Kairi had wanted. He made love to her all night long. Although it wasn't daybreak, she didn't care. He was with her. She held off her body's climax for as long as possible. She didn't want him to leave. She loved him too damn much to see him walk out of her life again. She didn't want to lose him again, not after the events of that night. The red headed girl knew it was probably close to three in the morning. She was getting tired of holding Sora off, and she knew this was one of the battles that was a lost cause.
The minute Kairi had dropped her guard Sora had slammed into her roughly. Her body shook violently as her scream echoed through the house. Her vaginal walls clinched tightly around Sora's member. He tried pulling out, as to prevent a future problem, but Kairi had wrapped her legs tighter around him and pushed her hips forward. The Keyblade master didn't have any way to escape. Just as Kairi had worn herself out by trying to hold Sora off, he had worn his body out by trying to break her defenses. He didn't scream when his climax hit him, but simply sank his member into her body further as his teeth clinched together.
Sora felt his arms give away and he fell on top of Kairi's sweaty body. He was tired. So damn tired it wasn't funny. This "making love" thing sure as hell took too much energy. But still, he couldn't help but smile as he looked at Kairi's sleeping face. He would've never done this with anyone else but her. She was his soul mate. The brunette pulled out of her and rolled over on his back. That's when she stirred.
Kairi's blue eyes opened slightly as she stared at Sora, "You're not leaving now are you?" Her nude form shivered lightly from the sudden drop of temperature.
"No," Sora shook his head as he reached down for the covers. He pulled Kairi closer to his body before covering both of their nude forms. Sora felt her place a hand on his chest as she snuggled deeper by his side, trying to find some warmth.
"I don't want you to go, Sora," Kairi whispered. She raised her head up to look into his eyes. "I want you to stay here with me and live happily ever after. You know, like in those fairy tales."
"Kairi."
She placed a finger to his lips to silence him, "But I know that's selfish of me. I don't want you to leave because that means I'd be lonely. I wouldn't have you around to hold me, hug me, or kiss me ever again. And that does scare me, Sora. Thinking about you leaving does bring fear into my heart, but I know that, even if you do leave in the next hour or so, I will always love you … and that you will always love me."
Sora couldn't bring himself to speak as his lover spilled out the contents of her soul. She wasn't crying; yet, she was sad. He couldn't understand why. He had finally realized that his Kairi had grown up and matured into a beautiful woman. He kissed her forehead gently.
"You know what they say," Kairi began again, "'Distance makes the heart grow fonder'. So," She rolled over on her back and reached onto her nightstand, grabbing a small object. She winced slightly at the pain that still lingered in her lower body, but ignored it as she sat up and placed the object around Sora's neck. "I want you to have this."
Sora looked down and gasped. Although his other necklace was slightly in the way, he could still make out the small and round white orb, "But Kairi, I can't take this. It has special meaning to you."
"That's why I'm giving it to you," She scooted down and curled up by Sora's side. "Think of it as something to remember me by. You know, in case you ever get lonely."
Sora couldn't help the smile the crept on his face. He brought Kairi closer to his body and kissed her forehead lovingly, "Go to sleep, baby. It's been a long night," He felt Kairi's muscles tense. He had to calm her down. "I'll be here when you wake up."
At those words, the sixteen year old seemed to relax. Her chest rose and fell with her steady, rhythmic breathing. Sora sighed in contentment. This was how it was suppose to be. This is how it will be. He snuggled deep into the covers, still holding Kairi close to him, not wanting to let her go.
-
"Kaze?"
Kaze was reaching over the bed to pick up her bra when she stopped at his sudden outburst. She looked behind her to see Riku sitting against her headboard, arms lying at his side, staring at her intently with those aquamarine eyes. He had removed his blindfold earlier … during their "bonding" … upon Kaze's request. Her hand came across her undergarment. She looped her arms through the strings and attempted to reach behind her to fasten the hooks, but Riku had already done it before she could. His calloused hands ran over the smooth skin of her back, causing her to shudder.
"You know I have to leave, don't you?"
Well no shit Sherlock! It's obvious, you fucking prick! Kaze's venomous thoughts didn't subside. She could not believe she had just slept with him. He had freaking seduced her, and the worst part was the she let him. What the hell had she been thinking?
Without turning around, Kaze shrugged her shoulders. Her emotions not wavering one bit, "I'm not an idiot, Riku. I didn't expect you to stay. Besides, why should I care if you leave or stay?"
Riku smirked, "I didn't say you were an idiot, darling." His face scowled at her last remark.
"Don't call me that."
"Okay, okay. Fine. Have it your way, Miss Priss," The silver haired man shook his head out of slight humor. He wrapped his arms around Kaze's body from behind and was shocked to feel her leaning back into his arms. He kissed her cheek lovingly. "Even if I do leave, you know I still love you." Riku's voice sounded distant to Kaze … as if those words had not come from him.
Kaze had found it very hard to hold her emotions back. She wanted to tell him she loved him too and she didn't want him to go, but she couldn't. He had something to do. Her feelings and opinions didn't matter. I love you too. Even though I'm too much of a coward to admit it.
Their fingers interlocked as Kaze nodded her head, "I know, Riku. I know." She smiled, taking care to not let Riku see it.
-
Sunlight bore down through the balcony doors. The birds seemed to be dancing outside while they sung their morning song. All was peaceful in the world of Destiny Island. Well, it wasn't peaceful for one person.
Kairi awoke expecting to see Sora's sleeping face, but was met by a white pillow. She shot upright in her bed holding the covers to her chest. Her heart started to beat rapidly, and tears sprang to her eyes. He said he would be here when I woke up. Where is he? She looked around her room frantically, but stopped when her soft blue eyes landed on a piece of paper lying on her nightstand. It was folded up neatly and sitting so that she could read what was written on the front: her name.
Curious as to what it was, Kairi turned her body to the left, reaching for the note. When she picked it up, something fell out onto the bed. She looked down and gasped. Sora's silver, crown shaped necklace was lying on the bed, shimmering in the sunlight. Fear over took her body as she ripped open the letter and read the contents. Crystal shaped tears rolled down her cheeks. She had to read the letter twice before reality finally dawned on her.
"Kairi,
I'm sorry, but I lied. I know you're probably pissed at me more so than anything else, but I had to leave. Please, just understand. The other worlds need me. But I realized last night that I needed you. You gave me everything that I could've hoped for. Please remember that I love you and I will return. Please Kairi, wait for me.
Forever yours,
Sora
PS - The necklace is a reminder that you're not alone. I'm always with you, Kairi. Wear it whenever you want to feel my presence."
Sobs racked Kairi's body as she shook violently. The crumbled letter fell on the bed as she collapsed in a crying heap of tears. She screamed out. She felt like a knife had been stabbed through her heart and pulled out violently. Her body became tangled in the covers from her rolling and thrashing on the mattress.
"What's going on?" Kaze burst through the door, but stopped immediately after seeing Kairi on the bed, having a nervous breakdown. Dammit Sora, you little fucker. I should beat your punk ass for this the next time I see you.
"Kaze?" Kairi desperately called out to her friend, who was sitting on the bed in a matter of seconds. Kairi's bloodshot eyes bore into Kaze's ice blue ones. She smiled through her pain, "I finally got to tell him that I loved him. I couldn't believe it when he told me he loved me, too. It was amazing. Like nothing I'd ever felt before. He was so afraid he would hurt me, but he looks so adorable when he blushes."
The nineteen-year-old sat in Kairi's room for about an hour listening to the girl describe her night with Sora. The look in the younger girl's face seemed very distant and far off. Kairi would occasionally forget she wasn't wearing a shirt and had to make sure that the bed sheet was still covering her chest.
Kaze glanced down on the bed and finally noticed Sora's necklace, "Looks like he forgot something."
Kairi's smile immediately vanished as her sorrowful gaze rested on the necklace. She shook her head and glanced at Kaze, "He gave it to me. He told me in my note that whenever I want to feel his presence that I should wear it," Kairi said softly. She lifted her gaze to rest on Kaze's. She flung herself forward into the older girl's embrace. "What am I going to do?"
Kaze rubbed Kairi's back. There was no support she could offer her friend. This was just one of those things in life a person has to deal with on her own. She heard Kairi start whispering Sora's name over and over like she was trying to call out to him. I can't help you out on this one, Kairi. I can only offer you comfort.
The white haired girl could only hold the young woman who had feel in the love with keyblade master tighter as she sobbed harder. Kaze couldn't help but imagine what it would be like if she allowed herself to feel that way about the keyblade master that she had spent the night with as well.
