Chapter 10 (Cinsanati POV) Old tounge.

I stared intensely in to Dragons eyes; he looked directly back for once. He normally avoids conversation and lets his attention wander, but as soon as I had let the first word slip from my mouth I knew I had his full attention. "Dragon I don't wish to keep him for long, soon the spell will be done and he will be free." I continued in old tongue.

"Spell?" his eyes enlightened in concern, he took a sharp breath in. "You cross the line so many times and yet you wonder why they stare and mutter."

"Clear your nose and smell what I am. A mongrel. A mule. That is why they stare. That is why they mutter, they couldn't give a damn what I do their vision is already blurred in fear. And they should be afraid." I turned my head away and snarled. Trying to hold back memories of the past, how they mocked me. Dragon placed his hand on my cheek and forced me to look into his eyes.

"It's not wise to dwell in the past, you of all people know that and you of all people should avoid it. What you parents did was unforgivable; you must understand that and not blame yourself." He tried to sooth my feelings.

"Is to fall in love so unforgivable." I spat at the ground. "Anyway I do not wish to talk about my feelings to anyone. Don't you even dare try to sympathise with me. Just agree or disagree, rogue." I glared bitterly at him.

"Do as you wish, I don't care any more. You know it's hard for me when it comes to you, I'm not even suppose to talk to you. Yet I do and you just throw it in my face." he replied with a hurt look on his face.

"Maybe you should just do as you're told then and read the rules before you play the game. If you wish to do this you must hold your tongue and act innocent. Keep in mind though that that path may bestow you safety, it doesn't bestow you happiness. I can see more then one heart and sole being broken, you can even see the cracks forming." I rose rapidly and watched his face twist in misery. I had said what needed to be said and yet there was a twinge of guilt. Guilt, there was a feeling I was not use to. I looked out of the gapping mouth of the cave we were in, the storm had subsided to a slight drizzle. I was time to move on, there much ground to cover and little time to do it in. Chaos lead the way out of the cave, I followed close behind her. Just outside the cave stood a looming figure, its face concealed by the shadow the hood of its cape. There beside the figure was a midnight black war stallion, a fine beast it was huge I could possibly touch its back with two feet flat on the ground. The figure rushed forward, grabbed Chaos around the waist and through her over his shoulder. In the process his hood was knocked off and I could see his face fully. The man laughed as Chaos screamed and struggled in his grip. His head was bald and a scar ran down the side of his face.

"Freedom, I'm sure Chaos does not appreciate being scared out of her wits." I smiled at my friend. He placed her down carefully and grinned showing a gap in his top row of teeth where his canine would have been. He let out a purr and brought me in to a hug. He then placed his hands on my sides and looked concernedly in to my eyes. Freedom's lack of words did not stop him from communicating in his own way you just had to learn that every gesture had a meaning.

"Always so caring." I mocked "I'm fine and yes I have missed you to. Though undoubtful not as much as you. Could not bear to be without me I see. Your poor horse, I'm surprised it has not collapsed from exhaustion as I bet you galloped all the way here. You have not eaten or slept since you left, you look awful. Take better care of yourself." I smiled to myself. "See I do care about something." He snorted and rolled his eyes. "That's not very nice, but I'll get over it. Come on lets go we can't stand here all day." Chaos glared knives at Freedom, he bow at her and smiled. He then gave a lower and more respective bow to Dragon, who turned away with a blush. He is such a girl sometimes; he would never make a proper lion, too shy and not furious enough. Freedom just nods his head and smiles at the others as a more causal greeting. Freedom is one of the only human I know what can tell the difference between one of the clans and some one who is normal. Well I guess he learnt when he was a slave for the Crocodile clan's General, I soon put an end to him. Freedom snatched up Chaos again and pretty much threw her on to his war stallion, I do believe that he likes her quite a bit.

"Oh my God! Get me down now. I don't like big horses there's farther to fall if I come off. Which is likely, as I have already fallen off twice from that creature and it's small." Chaos begged.

"Chaos you're much safer up there, at least if we're attacked from the ground. He's a good horse and unlikely to bolt off with you, so just relax. You're the lightest and the horse needs a rest." I smile as the disappoint struck her. Freedom mounted Chaos' horse and broke off a twig for a whip and gave the horse three massive smacks to get the horses attention before we travelled on. Freedom was very jumpy about his surroundings he didn't like wide opening. I had taught him to ride in a large meadow, but I suppose that being in a fenced off meadow and a seemingly endlessness forest was something different. It explains why he travelled so hard to get here I'm glad my map work and Kristen's blood was not spilt for nothing. I was a very complex spell and Kristen was lucky Freedom travelled so fast or he would have bleed to death. Talking about Kristen he seams slightly on edge too, I wonder why. Well it is no good worrying over him it's likely to be some small thing. I jump as a man on a horse jumps over the bush to the side of me and knocks Kristen off his horse, he gasps and grabs his arm.

"Gochya! You try to run and I'll shoot ya in da back with an arrow with your name on it." The man drew his sword and kicked his horse on until he was at the side of him with the sword under Kristen's chin. Kristen whimper, the man moved so he was sat side saddle on his horse and suddenly kick Kristen in the head with both feet in the head, knocking Kristen unconscious.
