Fan Fiction ❯ Stormy Conscience ❯ Realisation ( Chapter 12 )
Chapter 12, (Chaos POV) Realization.
The morning was frosty and a light mist drifted in between the trees giving the forest a more foreboding look if that was possible. I shiver slightly and look at the group that I was travelling with, they were all still asleep except for Cinsanati who seamed to be missing. He's probably hanging around somewhere checking we're safe or something. Well I hope he is anyway. I jumped as Blade let out a slight whimper in his otherwise peaceful sleep, I sighed and headed away from the group. Not too far though as I didn't want to get lost just far enough so I could be on my own. It had been harder then I thought, travelling in a group. There was no way to get away or have your own space which is what I like to do quite a bit. Just to go somewhere where I can think without being interrupted by people. Especially now, when I'm meant to be a Falcon and have powers like Dragon and Cinsanati. I don't… well I don't know what I think. I always believed in my heart that I was different then other people, but this…
"You look troubled…" I spun around to see Cinsanati sitting on a low branch. "Would you like to… talk about it or something? I'm sorry if I scared you too badly." He stretched and yawned.
"Umm… not really." He was one of the last people I would want to talk about my feelings to, as he seamed to show no feelings himself except anger and hate.
"That's O.k. just don't get to muddled about your life or anything." He seamed slight more nervous and tense then before.
"Cinsanati how did Freedom find you? There was no possible way that he could have known where you were." I blurted out before I had even realised I said it.
He chuckled slightly. "Full of curiosity. I suppose I could tell, but you may get confused. Before we left the mansion I enchanted a map, so when I cut with a certain knife it would leave a mark on that map, but only if the knife cut in to flesh." He smiled as I tried to understand what he was saying.
"So you cut yourself in such a way that it made a trail on the map to led Freedom to you." I inquired slightly confused still.
"No I wasn't going to risk my own life if it was a long journey I might have bleed to death or if I cut to deep. No I wasn't going to take that risk, instead I used Kristen that was why I didn't want to lose him before Freedom came." He explained.
"So you will, if you had to, to kill a man just so you could see Freedom. Sometimes you seam like an alright person and then I find out something like this. You such a jerk Cinsanati." I can't believe him. He can make me so mad sometimes. I went to walk away, but Cinsanati jumped off the branch he sat on and grabbed my wrist.
"I did what most people would do in that situation and yes I will kill for Freedom and I have. Freedom's a slave or he use to be, but he still carries the scar that imprisoned him. I wrecked my own life and my chance of forgiveness for him and do you know why?" Cinsanati looked so angry, I was seriously scared that he might hurt me. His grip around my wrist tighten so much so that I begun to hurt. "It's because I love him and care for him. I bet you find that hard to believe that I can feel and care. I murdered his master who just so happened to be the leader of the Crocodile Clan. We were discussing the possibility that I could fight for them, I would finally be accepted in the Clans. I would have a place in this world, but I drove a sword threw his gut and stole his horse as well as his slave." Cinsanati released my wrist and turned his back to me. He was visibly shaking in anger.
"Cinsanati… I'm" I really didn't know what to say, so I just turned away and walked away. By the time I got back to the group they were all just about wake, I was greeted by Max.
"Chaos what's wrong? Why are you crying?" He didn't give me a chance to answer not that I could a lump in my throat seamed to be stopping me say a thing. He embraced me and tried to comfort me. I felt so empty, Cinsanati was right anyone who had a true friend would kill for them. But I didn't have anyone like that the only people I know really are my fathers' friends, I have none of my own.
"Chaos your wrist doesn't look so good, I think it might be broken." Dragon run his hand down my wrist, I winced at the pain. Dragon has Blade to care for, Triks has Dragon, Max has… a lot of people, Blade has Dragon, Cinsanati has Freedom and Freedom has Cinsanati. Only I have no-one to care about. He also talked about not having a place in this world, I also have no place. I have no power when I should do like him and Dragon. I let out a sharp yelp as Dragon tightens a strip of cloth around my wrist in an effort to give it some support.
"There that will do until we get to the Horse Clans city." He turned his attention to Blade, "I'll be back in a moment. I'll just go and get Cinsanati to tell him that we're leaving right away." I saw Dragon disappear into the thicket with Freedom stalking behind him. The next thing I heard was a lot of shouting, I guess Dragon was having a go at Cinsanati. I could pick up on what they were saying it seemed blurred together and sometimes not a language at all, after a bout 10 minutes the argument ended. A few minutes later Cinsanati came bursting out of the undergrowth, in a bit of a state. There was blood pouring from his nose and a small stream of blood trickling from the side of his mouth. His face was twisted in rage and hate.
"Lets go." He snarled viciously mounting his horse and kicking it on. Dragon and Freedom came from the thicket unscathed. Freedom helped me mount his war stallion, while Dragon mounted his horse, before he copied and mounted another horse. We caught up with Cinsanati quite easily, doing the best to clean his wounds with what he could. He spat some blood on the stony ground.
"We're here." Dragon stated suddenly, he trotted forward through what seemed to be a really dense thicket. I followed pushing through the thick brush, the trigs scratching my skin. I held my wrist close to me being careful not to hurt it. The suddenly the forest was gone and we were in a huge savannah. The cut off of the trees and everything seemed so unnatural. The savannah was beautiful, full of lush grass, wild horses, zebras and antelope roamed around grazing. Further in the distance, was a giant city with a stone wall surrounding it, it was magnificent. Freedom dismounted his horse and let it browse on the luxuriant grass.
"Great!" Cinsanati exclaimed sarcastically. "Here they come to greet us, how kind of them." He gestured to a group of people riding bear back on horses towards us.
"Blade, Max and Triks you'd better dismount like Freedom, with the turmoil between the humans and the Clans it may not be wise for you to be riding the symbol of this clan." Dragon advised and they complied with out question. As the group got closer I could make out the people more clearly. The leader of the group was obviously the one wearing the helmet with his hair pulled out of the top in bunches so the way it flowed it looked like a horse's mane.
"Welcome home brothering Clan." He saluted Dragon respectably
"Thank you for your warm welcome brothering to war." Dragon saluted back to the leader of the group.
"Come this way, you look tried, you may rest in the palace as my guest." He started to lead the way back to the city. "What an odd group you travel with" the man chuckled slightly "A falcon, A slave, A bunch of humans and…" his eyes settled on Cinsanati who glared back. "Like I say a strange group." He's gaze went back to Dragon "How rude of me I have yet to introduce myself. I am Lound, the leader of the armies of the Horses."
"I am Dragon of the lion Clan, I'm trying to catch up with an old friend of mine, but on our journey we have heard news of prophesies coming true and the four generals rising again." Dragon gave Lound a confused look.
"Ah, yes. We will talk more about that subject when you are feed and rested, the castle is fast approaching. When we arrive you all shall freshen up and we will have a banquet to your arrival and you shall tell me the tales of your adventure."
