Chapter 19 (Cinsanati POV). And the end of a world.

We seemed to climb endless staircases, no-one said much, Lore was too amazed with the luxury before him. There were magnificent pictures of landscapes unspoilt by human contact and of beautiful angels. All the pictures seemed so real and life like I had never seen such talent. But then again I had never really appreciated art, it's just a waste of time what was the point of drawing it didn't help you. Knowing how to draw wouldn't help you win a fight a knife would though. I cracked my knuckles as we walked in to a large reception area which reminded me of Max's at his palace. Though the receptionist seemed to be looking rather anxious and was sniffing some kind of drug.

"Sam!" The young girl jumped up and pulled her low top up to stop it showing any more of her cleavage. It was obvious that she had been given the job, not through skill but because of looks. "Sam! Gabriel is here and I don't think it's good news Sam." Her skirt was non-existent it was pretty much a belt and her boots cam up to her knees, she reminded me of a prostitute. It was probably her job in her previous life. "Sam don't just stand there get in there and do something" She flopped back on her seat hopelessly. The doors burst open causing my company to jump back slightly.

"ohhh…" A small whisper passed from Lore's lips as he stared at the figure before him in desire and admiration. "A real angel… Gabriel… I never thought I would see him ever."

"Don't you consider yourself a real angel?" the figure with long golden hair asked, his gaze was intense and caring.

"No real angels live in heaven, they only give you wings down here to make you feel better about yourself. Sam is the only real angel I know, but he no longer lives in heaven."

Gabriel smiled and brushed his pure white garments to straighten them, "You are more of what you call a `real angel' then you think, more then Sam at any rate. You have a caring heart which you follow, you're a romantic and have a beautiful way with words." Gabriel complimented, "You made a mistake that's all. You were dead before you had a chance to repent it, you would have if you had the chance I know."

"Yeah that and that I'm gay. I don't think I would repent my Sin any more though. Is that a bad thing, I don't mean it to be. It's just that I don't think I could want to be in heaven any more. I know this place is really bad and everything but…" Lore looked at the floor and sniffed.

"But you love Sam and couldn't imagine life without him. I understand and you fear that you would find no one to love you up in heaven. You can't help your feelings and maybe it was for the best you came down here after all." I then noticed a face I recognised behind Gabriel , it was that creature that talked to Chaos.

"You're a God!" I spoke in shock. Everyone looked at me with surprise except Gabriel.

"What he's not God. He looks like a demon." Sam wrinkled his nose in disgust at the Creature. Who let out a low growl.

"I'll have you know that I am one of the Gods of the Clans. I am the Protector of the Air, in charge of guiding the General of the sky. I'm here to revive a soul and return it to its body." His eyes fixed on me, "Half Breed, get here now unless you want to burn with the city."

"Wow your gods are mean and what does he mean by burn with the city." A single feather floated down from Sam's wing.

"We're all going to hell." An angel appeared at Gabriel's side, wearing only a pair of boxers. "The Wing's of the damned will fail and they will fall into hell. Only the worthy will be able to fly to the portal of hope. A second chance awaits for us on earth, but only if we deserve it."

"Haleni, what is to become of the five angels that rule over the city? What about us?" It obviously wasn't good as Haleni fell to his knees and sobbed in terror.

"They destroyed the city and became corrupt as the city did. They will be punished for what they have done in hell." Gabriel frowned.

"No. No." Lore sobbed bitterly and clung on to Sam desperately scared to lose him. "Please No, I don't want Sam to suffer." The ground shook violently and parts of the ceiling caved in, I knelt on the ground and prayed that none of them hit me. I caught a glimpse of the rest of the city out the window, the fires rose so high they smothered buildings the people didn't have a chance. I heard a loud whine of pain, I looked at Sam, his wing's were moulting, the feathers were just falling out and it was causing him a lot of discomfort to say the least. I felt a rough grip around my waist and I was suddenly jolted upwards, I looked up to see the face of the Air God. Lore was still sobbing bitterly and clinging to Sam. Gabriel grabbed his wrist and pulled him away from Sam.

"You have the chance to start a new life on earth, I will not see you waste in hell that is not your place." Gabriel told Lore his face full of determination.

"I can't leave him. Let me go, I love him." Lore tried to get out of Gabriel's clutch.

"You get your arse up to earth I don't ever want to see you in hell. It would break my heart, you belong in heaven, not in hell with me. I deserve it I'm a murder, I killed innocent people and sent them to hell. I'm just getting my just deserts." Sam gasped and Lore watched hopelessly as Gabriel dragged him up to the light in the sky. The light was so bright it was blinding, but also in a strange way it was mesmerising. My stomach started to feel weird again like I was in an elevator, but worse. I felt dizzy and tired too at the same time as wanting to chuck up. I realized that I hadn't eaten anything whilst in the city so it was unlikely I would throw up. Probably just dry retch. Why am I thinking about such trivial things? Suddenly a sharp pain pulsed through my body and I blacked out.
