Chapter 3
Drei knocked on Sil's door. Zeshin had just called him and he needed to get Sil out of his office.
"What is it?" Sil demanded. Drei walked into the office and ignored the glare he received from Sil.
"Your father is coming over, you have to get out of this office. If you don't get up by yourself, I'll drag you out."
"You wouldn't dare." Sil hissed.
"You bet your ass I would. I want you out of this office, now." Drei ordered. Sil just ignored him.
"Fine, have it your way." Drei walked over behind Sil and lifted him out of his chair.
"What are you doing? Put me down!" Sil yelled. He struggled and kicked, trying to get Drei to put him down.
"No, you're coming out of this office. Your father has something important to show you." Drei reached the still open door and walked out. He grabbed a key from his pocket and locked the door, holding the struggling Sil in one arm. He hid the key then put Sil down.
"Idiot! All my work is in there!" Sil said.
"I know. That's why I locked it. Zeshin should be here soon and I don't want you working while he's here. He's done a lot for you."
"What exactly? I haven't even heard from him lately." Sil said. He turned his back on Drei in a childish manner.
"You'll see. Let's go wait in the other room." Drei said. He guided Sil to the living room at sat him down on the chair. He would sit next to him, but he thinks that Sil forgot about the relationship between them.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door and Drei called to them saying it was open.
Zeshin opened the door and walked inside, hiding someone behind him.
"Sil? Can you come here, please?" Zeshin asked. Sil ignored him. Zeshin growled angrily and impatiently.
"Sil, get over here! Now!" Zeshin ordered. Sil sighed and stood up, walking over to stand in front of Zeshin.
"Drei, you can come too." Zeshin said more calmly. Drei got up and stood over beside Sil.
"What is this all about?" Sil asked. He was still angry that he'd been locked out of his office.
"I'll show you." Zeshin said, then he stepped aside.
"...Hello, dad." Zen said.
"Zen!" Drei grabbed Zen and hugged him tightly.
"Dad...it's good to be home..." Zen said. He returned his father's hug. The two separated and looked at Sil. Sil was staring blankly at Zen. A few minutes later, he fell to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Drei...what's happened to me? I've...acted so badly..." Sil said.
"Father?" Zen bent down and put his hand on Sil's shoulder. Sil grabbed him and pulled him down, hugging him tightly.
"I love you so much, Zen. Don't leave me again." Sil cried.
"I won't. I promise." Zen said. He hugged his father back and Drei watched, still standing with a smile on his face.
"Are you hungry, Zen?" Sil asked. Zen pulled away to look at him and started laughing.
"What's so funny?" Sil asked, looking quite confused.
"Looks like you're back to your old self, dad." Zen said. Sil looked at him for a few minutes then started laughing with him. Sil was hungry a lot before he changed. He was thin but ate more than anyone else in the house.
"Come on you two, get off the floor so we can get some food in us." Drei said. Sil and Zen stood and Sil turned to his father.
"Thank you so much, dad." Sil beamed and hugged his father. Zeshin returned it happily.
"I have to get going now, you guys. Mune's alone right now and I said I wouldn't leave him alone for very long. I'll see you another time." Zeshin said. Then he left the house and drove off on his bike.
"Well, let's go out for dinner. Unless...you don't want to, Zen." Sil said, remembering the reason his son left. He was surprised when Zen smiled and dragged both of his parents outside.
"I guess you don't mind then." Sil grinned.
"No, of course not. I realized that I was being foolish, but I'm not ashamed to be seen with you. Oh, and I learned something interesting about the one person who lead the rest of them in their jokes. So, don't worry about it." Zen smiled and walked over to the car, waiting for his parents.
"Before we go, I'm really sorry about the way I've been acting, Drei. I love you and I screwed it up." Sil said.
"Don't worry, I understand. Now, let's get going." Drei said.
"Actually, can we walk and not drive?" Sil asked. The other two agreed so they began to walk down the street, Zen with one parent on the left and the other on the right.
About halfway there, Zen and his parents ran into the leader of the group that made fun of them.
"Hey there, fag. Where are you going?" He asked Zen. Zen just smirked and walked up to him calmly.
"Fag? That's not a nice word, Takeshi. You shouldn't be using it." Then Zen grabbed the back of Takeshi's head and pulled him forwards, locking their lips in a deep kiss. Just as Zen had thought, Takeshi kissed him back.
Feeling the need for air, Zen pulled away and smirked at him.
"I told you, you shouldn't be using it." Takeshi's eyes widened and he ran away.
"Nice going, Zen." Drei said.
"Well, I learned to recognize the signs. You know, the ones that tell you if their interested." Zen said, then he walked back and hugged Sil. "I'm sorry I left." He said.
"Don't worry, I forgive you. Drei does too, right?" Drei nodded.
"Come on, I'm getting hungry." Drei said. Sil and Zen laughed then walked down to the restaurant.
After they had eaten, they walked back home. All three of them were happier than they had ever been. Zen had his parents and his parents had him. Zen noticed that his parents weren't weak like he'd thought before. After they'd been cured by the doctors, their strength had returned and Zen noticed how well built they were. Of course, Drei was stronger than Sil, but it was to be expected.
Over dinner, the three of them had talked, and Zen reluctantly told them what he had done to earn money. His parents had been disappointed, of course. But they also understood what he had gone through. They both knew that Zeshin had done the same thing even though his case was much worse than Zen's.
"So, are you two sure you forgive me for what I did?" Zen asked. He still wasn't sure that he parents really forgave him. It was a little hard to believe considering they barely knew him.
"Of course we forgive you. You're our son, after all we went through and you went through, it's hard not to." Drei said. Sil nodded his agreement and Zen smiled, hugging his fathers. They were a little bit taller than him, but not much.
"So dad," Zen looked at Drei. "Why were your parents frozen? I know that you and aunt Terra came from some evil women people." Zen said. Drei laughed at the description of Terra's mother as well as his own. He shuddered every time he heard Terra's mother mentioned.
"Well, actually, I have a younger brother." Drei said.
"What?!" Sil and Zen said.
"Sorry, I guess I didn't tell you. But my brother got sick too, so he's still a little baby. I almost forgot about him. I've actually never even seen him. Apparently he has black hair and golden yellow eyes. I was going to see him in a few weeks, my parents are coming down."
"What's his name?" Sil asked. Zen loved his father's expression then. Sil always loved children.
"I'm not sure. Yuki was just so happy about it that he forgot to tell me. He was happy that his son had survived because he was so young. Only a few months old. Nanashi was happy as well." Drei said. They had stopped walking, when Drei finished speaking, they walked again, not stopping until they were home. Someone was waiting for them.
"Dad!" Drei ran up and hugged a man with black hair.
"Hey, Drei."
"You're early! What are you doing here?" Drei asked.
"Yuki couldn't wait any longer. Oh, are they Sil and Zen?" He asked. Drei nodded and turned to look at Sil and Zen.
"This is my father, Nanashi. You've met Sil, haven't you?" Drei asked. Nanashi nodded.
"But I haven't met Zen. It's nice to finally see you." Nanashi said. But he didn't move forwards to talk to him. Zen couldn't help but feel a little hurt.
"Yuki is inside. We found a key." Nanashi said. Then he walked into the house, leaving the three of them outside.
"He doesn't like me." Zen said.
"I agree with him, Drei. Why doesn't your father like him?" Sil asked. He wasn't trying to be mean, but he wanted to know why he hated his son.
"I...I don't know. That was weird. I think...it's because he doesn't really get along with Zeshin very well." Drei said.
"Oh...So then he hates me too. Come on Zen, we'll go out for a bit and come back later." Sil said. He was hurt, but didn't want to talk about it.
"No, Sil don't go anywhere." Drei said.
"It's fine." Sil said.
"No, come inside." Drei said.
"I said, it's fine!" Sil yelled. He was near tears, so he dragged Zen away from the house. Drei went into the house and slammed the door angrily.
"What's wrong, Drei?" Yuki asked.
"I have no idea. What's your opinion of Sil, Yuki?" Drei asked. Nanashi was there, but Drei was ignoring him.
"Oh...well, uh...I don't really know much about him. But...he seems nice enough, I like him." Yuki said.
"What would you do if you met my son?"
"Drei, stop it." Nanashi said.
"Shut up, father. I wasn't talking to you." Drei said angrily. Nanashi looked at him sharply but said nothing. Drei turned back to Yuki. "Well?"
"Well, I would treat him the way I would treat anyone else I met for the first time." Yuki said nervously. He was fidgeting, as well as holding the baby in his arms.
"Well at least you have some decency." Drei said.
"What is going on, son?" Nanashi asked harshly.
"Sil and Zen are gone, dad!" Drei yelled.
"Nashi! What did you do?" Yuki asked. He was clearly angry that Nanashi had done something to make Sil and Zen leave.
"Nothing!" He yelled back.
"Bullshit!" Drei yelled back. "If you weren't so mean to my son then they wouldn't have left! They left because you made it so obvious that you hate them when you've barely even met them!" Drei screamed. Then he stormed upstairs to his and Sil's room and slammed the door. The baby in Yuki's arms began to cry loudly, making Yuki angrier than he already was.
"Nashi." Yuki said sternly. "You fix this. I'm going to get Zen and Sil." Yuki's tone meant no arguing. Nanashi knew it well and reluctantly went up to see Drei.
Yuki took his son and went outside. He could just barely see Sil and Zen at the end of the street and he hurried to catch up with them. The baby had calmed down once they got outside.
"Sil! Wait!" Yuki called. Sil stopped and turned around. Yuki saddened at the pain and hurt clearly etched into Sil's features. Zen stopped but didn't turn around. His frame was tense, he was angry.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what Nanashi was doing." Yuki said. Sil brightened when he saw the baby.
"Is that your son?" He asked. Zen was still angry.
"Yes, would you like to hold him?" Yuki asked. Sil nodded eagerly and held the baby in his arms.
"He's so cute. What's his name?" Sil asked.
"Takeo. Zen, what's wrong?" Yuki asked. Sil turned and looked at his son. He hadn't noticed that he was still facing away from them.
"I promised myself...that I wouldn't see that look of pain on my fathers' faces. And...Now that I've come back, it's happened again. It's all my fault!" Zen yelled, then he ran towards the park.
"Shit!" Sil yelled, he gently handed Yuki his son, then ran after Zen.
"Zen! Wait! Please!" Sil wasn't able to catch up to Zen. He was cured, but still not as strong as Zen. He was still weakened by the illness, so he couldn't catch up. He fell next to a tree, sobbing.
"Not again...Not again. He just got back...Damn you, Nanashi!!" Sil screamed and he pounded the tree with his fist. Yuki had caught up to him and heard him. He knelt next to Sil's broken down form.
"He'll come back, he just needs to cool off." Yuki said.
"No, you don't understand. That's what we thought last time he ran away. And he didn't come back for an entire year! He just got back today and we were happy...Now he's gone and I may never see him again." Sil began to cry again.
"Excuse me." Someone came up behind them. The two of them turned around, there was a fairly tall man with curly brown hair and green eyes.
"I believe, he belongs to you." He brought Zen out from behind himself and nudged him over to Sil, who jumped up and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you so much." Sil whispered to him.
"It was my pleasure. I didn't want him to run back to his old life." The man said.
"But...how did you know?" Sil asked, he moved Zen over to his side, still holding him.
"I'm from the city he was living in before he came back." He said.
"What's your name?"
"Yochi." He said. Takeo giggled. "Hey, cute kid." Yochi smiled at Takeo.
"...Thanks." Yuki said.
"Oh hey! I know you guys, you were in the news." Yochi said. Sil and Yuki nodded.
"It's great that you're well. Oh, and Zen?"
"What?"
"Relax a bit, would you? You can't prevent Sil from looking sad. It's impossible for someone to do that. He loves you no matter what, you'll just hurt him by running away." Yochi smiled and kissed Zen. Zen heard his father and Yuki's gasps.
When Yochi pulled away, Zen was blushing and nervous.
"I'll see you later, Zen." He said. Then he walked off.
After he left, both Sil and Yuki turned to Zen.
"He said he's in love with me. But he's married and twice my age." Zen shrugged. "A former client of mine." He said. Then he began to walk home.
"Zen, please wait for me." Sil said. He hurried up and walked beside him.
"Hey guys, don't leave without me." Yuki said. He hurried and walked next to Zen and Sil.
"This baby is so cute!" Sil giggled and tickled Takeo's tummy. Takeo giggled happily and Sil grinned. Zen sighed, his father looked so happy. He wished that his father never got sick so he was able to take care of his own baby. Sil desperately wanted to, Zen could tell.
"You should have another child, father." Zen said. Sil looked at him, shocked.
"What are you talking about, Zen?" Sil asked.
"Don't take it the wrong way, father. I was only suggesting it because I can tell you miss having a baby around. I want you to be happy." Zen said. Sil smiled and looked at the ground.
"You're right, Zen. I do want a baby...But I don't think I could convince Drei to let me have one, not after what we went through earlier."
"If I may?" Yuki interrupted. Sil and Zen looked at him, curiously. "I think Drei would like to have another child too. You may not see it, but I do. He misses having a baby as much as you. You should go for it." Yuki said. Sil stopped walking and looked at Yuki.
"You're right. Thank you, Yuki!" Sil hugged Yuki tightly, careful of the baby, then took off towards home to talk with Drei.
"It's good to see him happy again..." Zen said, smiling after his father. "My father deserves this chance. I hope he and father succeed."
"So do I. Would you like to hold the baby, Zen? It will be good practice and he's getting a little heavy." Yuki said. Zen nodded and carefully took the baby from Yuki's arms.
"He really is cute." Zen said. The two of them started walking again and slowly reached home, Nanashi was sitting on the steps.
"Nashi? What's going on?" Yuki asked.
"Everything's fine, Yuki. Drei and I talked things out and as soon as we were finished, Sil burst in. I decided to leave them alone." Nanashi smirked.
"That's good to hear." Yuki said. Zen and Nanashi's eyes locked for a few seconds, making Zen worried.
"Oh...uh...Here's your baby, I'm going to go for a walk." Zen handed Takeo to Nanashi and turned, quickly walking away.
"Stay here, Zen." Nanashi said. Zen turned and looked at him strangely. "I don't hate you." Nanashi said. Zen sighed and sat down next to Yuki, who had sat down beside his lover.
"I was wondering...If you guys got sick, does that mean I will too?" Zen asked.
"It's highly possible. But don't worry; they have a cure now so you wouldn't have to be frozen." Nanashi said. Zen sighed.
"That's a relief. So do you really think my dad wants to have another child?" Zen asked. Yuki nodded and Nanashi looked back and forth between the two, confused.
"What are you two talking about?" Nanashi asked.
"Sil wants a baby." Yuki said.
