Tee-hee... this is my first KH yaoi fic. Do NOT sue me and don't flame me because you think Sora or Riku belongs with Kairi!!! Everyone has their own opinions and something called 'freedom of speech.' @__@ Oi, the things I have to put up with to satisfy people! KH belongs to SquareSoft and Disney Interactive and Sora and Riku are drawn by Tetsuya Nomura. Anyway, this chapter is just... PG... er, 13, because two boys kiss. T.T Go figure ... and the setting is just a regular setting. PWP basically. ^_^

"C'mon, slow poke!"

Shuffling of feet-

"SLOW DOWN, RIKU! My legs aren't as fast as yours, okay?!!"

The platinum-haired youth stopped entirely, making his friend smash into his back and fall flat in the sand. " Damn you..." " Oh, come on, Sora. You know you like it!" The Keyblade Master glared at Riku with his azure eyes and stuck out his tongue, rolling around into a sitting position and grinning somewhat. Ever since he was able to retrieve Riku from protecting the keyhole where Sora last fought Ansem was a joy for him and Kairi. Parting from Riku was the hardest thing to do and it nearly killed him, but Riku insisted it for the protection of the worlds and King Mickey. Ever since returning to Destiny Island, everyone and everything settled down, glad that no Heartless were around anymore and that their two best fighters were home.

"Woo-hooo! Anyone home in Sora Land? I've been calling you for five minutes," announced Riku, aqua eyes sparkling as he waved a hand in front of Sora's face. " I'm here- physically but not mentally," Sora answered. " Duh. I always knew that." The two glared at one another before laughing aloud. Sora calmed down and started playing with the sand, watching it pass through his bronze fingers and disappearing into the ground in a flurry of dimmed sparkles that caught in the ocean sunlight. " Hey, Sora?," called Riku, suddenly quiet, sitting down next to him. " Yeah?" Riku stared intently at the beach before speaking, tone eerily soft, his low voice rumbling. " What would it have been like without me here...? Would ... everything have been easier for you and Kairi?," Riku asked, hugging his knees to his chest. Sora stared at his best friend and bit on his bottom lip, trying to find a suitable and honest answer.

"I don't know what to tell you, Riku. Honestly, I don't. Everything might've been duller, I think. But that's my opinion. I think I would become a coward, at heart and mind... I probably wouldn't have been the Keyblade Master! I'd be surprised if it choose Wakka or even Tidus!!!," laughed Sora, scratching the back of his dark brown head. Riku allowed himself to smile lightly and he leaned back on his hands, legs sprawled out in front of him, sand covering parts of his legs. " Look at the sunset ... pretty, huh?" Sora blinked and stared out at the ocean and its horizon. " Yeah ... the same as always. But, lighter and more... dunno, colorful," he whispered, lying back in the sand.

Everything was quite at this point, allowing Sora to stare at Riku for a bit. The boy didn't seem to notice that Sora was, however. The younger one studied him, noticing how the sunlight bounced off the silvery hair, and added a warm, golden glow to his pale features. Sora's eyes traveled to his body frame, marveling at the built and strength it possessed. How long did he ignore this? For way too long ... and Sora felt that somehow, his feelings and mainly hormones were failing him. Sora began to built up his barrier to hold his inner-self down.

Sora glanced back at Riku, seeing him stand up and dust himself off. Unconsciously, Sora felt his head follow the moves that the older male did. Sora then lowered his gaze to the ground, bottom lip caught between his teeth as he thought about Riku, brow knitted. Ever since becoming the Keyblade Master and trying to save Kairi, the boy's feelings of his friend began to smooth out and grow. At the beginning, friendship grew to admiration, and admiration grew to... Lust? Love? Had Riku ever noticed him? Riku's purpose was to find Kairi, but what about Sora? Hadn't he cared about finding him when separated from Destiny Island? Now that image buzzed angrily in his mind, making Sora grow furious deep within his chest. ' Why am I hating him again? Does he even like me enough to have saved me? I just don't know ... anymore...'

"Hey, Sora? Are you okay?" came a voice from afar, questioning. Sora shook his head hard as he tried to clear his filled mind. Riku was standing above him, grinning. " I don't think I'll ever get your head outta the clouds," he chortled, aqua orbs gleaming with closed laughter. " What were you thinking about?" Sora giggled nervously and scratched the back of his head. " N-nothing! Nothing i-in particular!," he stammered, standing up. But while in the process, he tripped over his feet -- and landed face first in the sand, body sprawled out.

Sora mentally slapped himself, his inner voice yelling at him, ' Idiot! Stupid! You ass!' What a fabulous way to allow Riku see Sora fall SO gracefully... " You and your big, yellow shoes of death!," Riku laughed from his side. " Leave the shoes alone, man!," protested Sora, nearly buring his face into the sand to try and escape his embarrassment. Warm hands placed themselves on his shoulders and turned him over, his vision filled with a dark blue sky with rose pink, ruby red, bright orange, and golden yellow schemes that stretched before him like paint smeared on an easel, perfectly blended together. Then, something more lovely came into view and Sora flushed some at seeing brilliant silver hair being tossed lazily in the salty breeze and kind, happy-filled aqua orbs that suddenly burst many colors of blue, silver, gold, and green from the dying sun that was setting behind the soothing-sounding ocean. A matured, and finely featured face of ivory with highlighted cheeks of a fine, dusted color of rosy pink and an upturned, cherry mouth that was smiling at him so merrily. ' Riku... you'll never know really how much you mean to me. Before and after the Darkness consumed you ... do I love you?'

"Yes? How may I help you and your small feet?," scowled the boy, pouting, bright azure eyes lowered in mocked sadness. Riku shook his head. " I didn't say you had big feet; only your shoes, dummy. And my feet aren't small- they're average sized," Riku defended himself, leaning against Sora's bent knee, a leisure smile slowly creeping across his features. ' Ah, shit ... why's he doing that?!,' he moaned in his mind, a slow line of fire shooting up his spine and pooling down to the pit of his stomach. Folding his arms behind his head, Sora whistled to himself as the breeze that floated around the island turned cool and made him shiver. " Cold?" " Nah."

"Oh, crap. I gotta go. Dinner's ready and my Mom wants everyone to be at the table to-get-her," Riku emphasized, rolling his eyes to the heavens. Sora nodded and smiled, sitting up, not noticing Riku near him so closely. " Um... Sora?" The younger boy blinked and lifted his face, just mere inches away from his friend's, both pairs of eyes from the two wide and faces turning into interesting shades of red. Riku was getting himself lost in those endless blue depths and was struggling to breathe properly. When did he start feeling for Sora? ... A long time. Too long to remember. Since Sora was 9 years old and Riku was 10 and both would draw on the secret cave walls, wrestle in the ocean shoreline, raced with one another, had miniature duels, stayed over at each other's houses ... normal boy stuff.

When Kairi came along, the duo turned trio and more exciting island games happened. Sora gladly accepted Kairi in any games, while Riku flirted or showed off to her. Kairi made the island a little more happy and Riku was glad to have a good friend like her. But... Riku would watched Sora from the distance, marveling at his spirit and energy he pulsed with like the sun itself, almost envying him. How was it that Sora had something that he didn't? Sora was his best friend, literally joined at the hip with him since childbirth. Was Kairi stealing him away from Riku? When Sora turned 12, a huge thunderstorm was happening on the island and Riku was staying with Sora for the night that changed his perspective on Sora forever until they were separated a year ago. He could remember the muffled whimpers and noises from Sora's bed and from the floor in his sleeping bag, Riku sat up, face showing concern. " Sora, you okay, buddy?"

" ... not really." Sniffling echoed around in the boy's room as lightning flashed, with the thunder rumbling right behind it that made the bundle on the bed jerk and bury itself deeper into the mattress. Riku pitied the boy and climbed into bed with him, peeking underneath the covers for him. " Sora, please don't be scared ... if you're sad, then I'm sad," implied Riku, trying to assure Sora to talk to him. " I'm t-trying n-n-n-not to be!," hiccuped the brunette, large eyes glistening with tears, some already on his little, round face. Riku frowned and wiped the tears away. " I'm sorry that your scared. Want me to sleep with you?" Sora nodded fretfully and dove into the older boy's arms, trembling. Riku was surprised. Never was Sora this opened to him. Little hands clenched to his T-shirt and Sora's face nuzzled into the crook of Riku's neck. " You won't leave during the storm, will you?," asked Sora softly. " What if I have to go to the bathroom?" " I'll cling to your legs." Riku laughed and ruffled his friend's unruly hair.

"Whatever, bud. Just go to sleep. I'll always be with you...," Riku murmured, embracing the child close to him. He felt Sora's head lift and a small, warm, wet kiss was placed on his left cheek. " Thanks." Riku felt his face grow hot but he dismissed it quickly and smiled at Sora who was looking at him rather intently. " Go on to sleep, Sora... I'll watch after you." The boy smiled and snuggled against his friend, drifting to sleep. Silence emitted throughout the room as the storm wore on and Riku whispered into the night air, " ... even if I'm torn apart from you. No one will ever take me from you, Sora."

Why did that one, innocent kiss change him?

Riku gulped now in the present as Sora looked away, blushing hard and biting on his bottom lip. He inwardly groaned, wanting to take out that plump flesh from Sora's teeth and ravish his mouth right then and there. Wait!!! ' Why am I thinking that now?!! Since when he appeal to me like this?!,' Riku argued with himself. " Riku...?" The silver-haired boy jumped slightly and turned to Sora. " What? Something wrong?" The brunette nodded slowly and looked Riku's way, eyes unusually bright and his bronze skin flushed. " Tell me!," urged the older boy, taking Sora by the shoulders. But by doing so, it caused Sora to reach out and kiss Riku placidly on the lips. The older teen's eyes widen largely and Sora pulled away quickly, feeling him tense. " I...! I'm so sorry! Riku- don't... I...!" Sora was blabbing away so, feeling the prickling of tears sting his eyes. The older boy stared at him and then blinked as he witness Sora stand fastly and run away from him quickly, kicking up sand. " Sora!"

Hee-hee ... cliffhanger. And no, this one won't be put on hiatus. At least I don't think so. @___@ Reviews, purty please?! C'mon- IT'S RIKU AND SORA!!!
