Chapter 11: the End

They appeared in Slade's War Room. “Where are we?” Starfire asked.

“Slade's War Room,” Robin said.

Devin started walking. The Titans rushed after him. “Where are you going?” Beast Boy asked.

“To get Raven out,” Devin said not even looking back.

He spread the wings on his back and took off down the hall. Starfire pick up Robin, Beast Boy turned into a falcon and Cyborg had to run after them.

I'm coming Raven, just hang on, Devin thought reaching out to her.

Raven heard a whisper as she sat against the wall. She could barely hear it but knew that it was Devin. She smiled and thought, I'm waiting Devin.

Devin didn't even stop to fight the robots that got in his way. His wings cut through them, the Titans were in awe of what they were seeing. Devin had incredible power and they didn't know how he'd gotten it. He gritted his teeth and flew faster; suddenly Cinderblock came out of nowhere and punched Devin to the ground. Devin got up and folded his wings against his back.

He made a shadow ball and formed it into a katana, “Get out of my way.”

Cinderblock didn't move. Devin jumped and brought the sword down. Cinderblock tried to block the sword with his arms but the blade cut through them like a hot knife through butter. Devin let the sword disappear, and took flight again.

Several of Slade's Robots came into the room and aimed their blasters at her. Slade also came into the room and pressed a normal gun against her head. She still smiled. Devin was fighting two battles as he flew. He was fighting against the army of robots sent against him and he was fighting to keep control of himself. The new power he'd gained was born from his hate and that hate was trying to take control of him. He had to get to Raven and get her out so he could change back, before he lost control.

He came to the room were they had been tortured and landed. His wings twitched as the Titans caught up. He walked toward the door to the room where he and Raven had been held. He put his hand on it and closed his eyes. When he felt Raven nowhere near the door he brought his fist back and sent the door flying with one punch. He walked through and turned to Slade.

“Well hello Devin. I see you made it. Your demon form is very impressive,” Slade said a slight laugh in his voice. Devin started walking toward him, “Ah, ah. We wouldn't want to see Raven's brain on the floor now would we.”

“Get away from her,” Devin said baring his fangs.

Slade's robots charged Devin and sank their claws into his skin. He didn't even flinch. This caught Slade by surprise. When the claws were removed the wounds closed. “Well this is interesting,” Slade said smiling under his mask. The Robots fired their blasters but Devin made a wall of Shadow to block the blasts.

“How? There aren't any shadow for you to manipulate!” Slade shouted.

“My Shadow Form allows me to create the Shadow's,” Devin made a shadow sword and began hacking away at the robots.

When they were gone, the sword disappeared. And the Titans came to the doorway. Robin pulled out one of his Bird-a-rangs and was about to throw it when a Shadow Wall blocked the doorway.

“Stay out of this,” Devin said not even bothering to look at them. “You've captured us. I can live with that. You tortured me, that I'm willing to forget about if you bleed a little. You tortured Raven, my mate, and my love. That I can't allow. You're going to die Slade and by my hand!” Devin said.

“I don't think so Devin.”

A trap door opened and Slade dropped inside. the door closed before Devin could grab Slade. The doorway opened up and the Titans walked in. Devin picked Raven up and turned to the Titans. The Titans realized that Raven had nothing but her underwear on and it was barely covering her. The boys covered their eyes and blushed. Shadows wrapped around Raven and turned into a black gown that felt like cool silk against her skin.

“Let's go home,” Devin said his voice soft. They were swallowed by shadows and released in the living room of Titans Tower.

2 months later…

“Are you sure you have to go?” Raven asked as she listened to Devin's beating heart.

“Yes. I have to learn to control my Shadow Form. I've seen what happens when a Shadow Mage loses control and I don't want that to happen,” he said running his fingers through her hair.

They were laying on the coach in the living room. Devin pulled out his communicator and called the rest of the Titans to the living room. When they got there he and Raven sat up and looked at each of them, before saying, “I have to go. I'll be back, but you guys will have to get on without me. Think you guys can manage?”

“Yeah,” Beast Boy said smiling at him.

“We'll get along just fine without you, but hurry back Devin,” Robin said.

“You shall be missed greatly, friend,” Starfire said holding back tears.

“When you get back I'm gonna' be able to race circles around you, dawg,” Cyborg said.

Devin stood and picked up his duffel bag slung it over his shoulder and pulled the hood of his coat up over his head. He went outside, swung his leg over his motorcycle and rode off.

Inside the tower, Raven started crying. She knew he'd be back, stronger then ever, but she couldn't help crying. Nothing she did could stop the tears. As she waited for something to explode, she was shocked to hear nothing. “So I got his control,” She thought, “That's why he left to try. He knew that I'd be able to keep myself under control.”

Oni: Hello folks. So what did you think of it? Well you'll be pleased to know that this isn't the end. That's right Devin and the Titans are going to have more to worry about. Here's a preview.

That night they went out for pizza. As they where arguing over what kind of toppings to get a motorcycle jumped over the side of the restaurant. The motorcycle landed and the rider dismounted. He was dressed in a black duster that reached to his black cowboy boots. He had black jeans and a black shirt that was tucked in. A black belt was around his waist. He had black biker gloves on his hands. He left his solid black helmet on.

He got into a fighting stance and said, “So who's first?”

The Titans just looked at him. He lunged at Robin who barely managed to dodge the punch. Starfire flew at the rider and threw punch after punch at him. He backed up dodging every punch. He bumped into Beast Boy who had turned into a gorilla. Beast Boy held the rider in a bear hug.

The rider smiled under his helmet, “Nice grip you've got there. Tell me how mine is.”
