You

They must have stared at each other for hours. His eyes burned with passion. He never left hers'. Strange as it was, she didn't feel uncomfortable. He actually made her feel more comfortable, like she actually belonged in her skin.

`Kami… she is so beautiful.' His mind was racing. It was like she could see into his very soul. Her eyes where the purest blue, like ice but softer. Her finger tips sat gently on his, setting his skin on fire. He just wanted to take her in his arms and kiss her. Her skin was so soft and pale. Straight blond hair was layered and fitted around her face. Her luscious, red painted lips where so sweet and inviting.

Yuudai noticed her blushing, and he blushed as well. `Damn… this is the first time I've blushed because of a girl.' He laughed nervously.

“Sakura right… Thanks.” He took a drink, “best I've ever had.” He flashed his flawless grin. “I'm Takahashi, Yuudai Takahashi.”

She smiled, “You must be a James Bond fan.” He gave her a funny look.

“How did you know?”

“That's easy… the way that you introduced yourself.” She looked away, “I have a Venti Soy No Water Chai Latte.”

“So… you're not the least bit interested in my name?”

“Oh, I know who you are… I just don't care.” She smiled, “Have a nice day Mr. Takahashi.”

“Please, call me Yuudai.” He took her hand.

“Ok… will it get my hand back?”

“Maybe, we'll see how much I want to part with it.”

“Have a nice day Mr. Yuudai.”

“Yuudai…”

“Yuudai…” she was blushing really deeply now. “Can I please have my hand back now?”

“Sure Sakura, thanks for the drinks.”

“See ya Sakura.” Isamu waved over his shoulder

“Bye Isamu-Sensei.” Yuudai peeled himself from her eyes, and fallowed Isamu to a table with comfy chairs.

“Wow, you didn't tell me you knew such beautiful girls.” Yuudai turned around to glance at Sakura. She was bent over the bar, working on a drink.

“Well, I know Amaya, I've met Sakura. They are two completely different things.”

“Man, I want her.”

“I'm not going to let you add her as another notch to your belt. She is too sweet for that. Besides, Amaya said that she has a ruff past.”

“Really,” Yuudai looked over at the girl, “This is different, I want her, but not just sexually. I want to know her, I want all of her.” He let go a deep breath and rubbed his neck nervously.

“Wow, you've got it bad. You just met her.”

“Isamu… this is the first girl who hasn't jumped me the minute I told them my name. You heard her, she didn't care. She may have had a ruff past, but I could give her a bright future.”

“Sakura, lunch break, now.” Annie commanded.

“Aw Annie, can't I wait till they leave. Takahashi has been eyeing me since…”

“Since that hot and heavy moment at the counter.” Amaya poked Sakura's shoulder and laughed.

“It's not funny… I know his reputation!” Sakura pouted and folded her arms.

“Saku… when was you last date?” Annie asked, putting her arm around Sakura's shoulders.

“Ummm… let's see… never!” Amaya offered up helpfully. Come to think of it, she was right. Sakura had never been on a date. It wasn't like she wasn't asked, she was asked all the time. She just always turned them down because…

“Um guys, no memory, remember?” she pointed to her head, “What would we talk about? `Yeah, my dad and I went fishing all the time, how about you?' Uhhh, hmmm, my first memory is waking up in an orphanage. I don't know my birthday, my parents, or even if this is my real name. All I have is this creepy dream that keeps me up at night, and this necklace that I wear everywhere. Yea… I don't think so.”

“Saku… everyone has a soul mate, even those who don't have memories.” Annie stated.

“Just go out there and get to know him. He hangs out with Isamu… he can't be all bad.” Amaya gave her a push.

“Fine,” Sakura smiled evilly, “I'm going to lunch, not to get a date.” Sakura stated as she punched out. She grabbed her creamy chicken ramen from the back and added hot water. She then sat down at a table to eat her lunch and read her InuYasha Manga.

“I'm going to talk to her.” Yuudai stated as he eyed up the young woman.

“Just remember, she is fragile.”

“Yea, Yea.” Yuudai stood-up. His palms were sweaty and his mouth was dry. He licked his lips. She was getting closer. Why couldn't he suddenly form whole sentences?

“Um hi… could I sit down?”

“Knock your self out.” she stated not looking up from her manga. Yuudai evaluated what she was reading.

“Oh my God, you like InuYasha?”

“Yea… what's it to you?” she stated, eyeing him skeptically.

“I'm one of Rumiko's biggest fans! I even got to meet her in person.”

“What… no way!” Sakura put her book down. Now she was interested. “So let me ask you, how do you feel about this whole thing with Kikyo?”
“It really sucks, but I understand why InuYasha does what he does.”

“Really?” sakura raised her eyebrows.

“Well yea, he may not love her, but he is obligated to her. He thinks of himself as worthless, all he has is his honor. If he destroys that, how can anyone, even Kagome, love him? It is just too bad that he hasn't realized she will always love him. If only he could tell her how much he really loves her. It is all about honor and promises. But if you ask me, I think that InuYasha only promised to protect Kikyo, not die with her. After Naraku is destroyed, then his debt is repaid and he can be with Kagome.”

“Exactly, wow Takahashi, I'm impressed.” They both laughed.

“I love the ramen by the way. Its great.” He pointed to the cup.

“InuYasha's Favorite ya know.” They both laughed some more, each one relaxing into the other's presence.

“So, it looks like our friends are hitting it off well.” Isamu approached Amaya by the counter.

“Yeah, tonight is Sakura's 21st birthday. We are going to the Red Rose for drinks and dancing.”

“Yuudai owns that club you know.”

“Really… do you think he could do something special for her?”

“I will see what I can do,” he looked at the couple deep in conversation, “but I don't think that will be too much of a problem.”

~o0o~

“So Sakura, would you like to go out some tonight, since it is your birthday?”

“I'm sorry, but I already promised Amaya. This day means everything to us. It is also the first day we met and became friends.” Yuudai looked disappointed.

“Oh well, some other time than.”

“Sure… we'll see about that.” She knew in the back of her mind that she would never allow herself to see him again… it was just to much of a risk. Her eyes widened when she looked at her watch. “I have to go, my break is over.” She gave him a smile and waved, “Bye Takahashi.” He reached out and grabbed her hand.

“Not good bye Sakura, just good night. I will see you again.” A look of Sadness passed quickly over her eyes. He smiled and rubbed her hand with his thumb.

“Again I have to ask, can I have my hand back Takahashi?'' She blushed deeply and gave him a shy smile.

“Yeah, see ya later.” He watched her walk away. `Wow, she is so amazing.' Isamu walked over and sat down. “God, I can't wait to get to know her better.”

“You might just get that chance.” Isamu stated a knowing look in his eyes.

Work had been slow after the guys left. Sakura was plagued with questions from Amaya and Annie.

“Come on Saku, what did you talk about?”

“You to looked pretty cozy over there.” Annie commented.

“Well, he just likes Inu.” They both gave her a quizzical look. “InuYasha?! You two are hopeless.” Sakura threw her arms in the air and rolled her eyes.

“Wait, that show you watch with the cute dog boy. Oh, I like that one too.”

“He's half dog demon half human… your hopeless. Anyway, he's really not my type.”

“Saku… he is only a cartoon.”

“Kami… Amaya I mean Takahashi.”

“Sakura… you two looked really into each other.” Annie stated as she put her head on Sakura's shoulder. “Maybe you should give him a chance.”

Now Sakura sat at her vanity preparing for the evening ahead of her. After work she had gone to get her license picture retaken, and she couldn't wait to use it. She had chosen a sexy red, off the shoulder top with angel sleeves, a heart shaped neckline, and an A-line hem. Her tan skirt was an inch above the knees. The outfit was completed by the black calf high boots and her diamond heart necklace she always wore. Her hair was down and straitened so is framed her face. The make-up was mostly natural, except for the red lipstick.

Sakura evaluated herself in the mirror. She looked good, really good. Amaya knocked on the door.

“Wow, you look great!” Sakura turned around to see her friend. Amaya was in dark jeans that clung to her every curve. They sat dangerously low on her hips. She had on black boots as well, and a teal silk halter top. Her hair hung loose in natural curls.

“Not looking so bad you're self.” Sakura added.

“So, shall we break some hearts tonight?” Amaya asked.

“Let's do it.” Sakura giggled and took Amaya's arm as the two girls walked out of the room.
