First Impressions
“Oh life is so mundane.” He looked in the mirror. Short clean dark hair hung in front of his deep hazel eyes. His tan muscles bristled in the mist filled bathroom. He had had a restless night of sleep yet again. Dark circles where starting to form. Not something a billionaire player wanted. Oh well, in two hours he was meeting Isamu at Starbucks for coffee. Isamu had said he needed to finish with his favorite student. He knew it was that girl. She was all Isamu could talk about for the last three years. Why didn't he just tell her how he felt?
“Because it would not be proper for a student and teacher to date,” Yuudai mocked at the mirror. It didn't laugh back. “I need more excitement.” Yuudai sighed. He heard a jingle in the other room, so he headed for the intercom.
“Master Yuudai?”
Yuudai punched the button, “Yeah Charlie?”
“Breakfast is served sir… and it is Charles… sir.”
“Thanks Charlie… I'll be right down.” At least getting a rise out of his butler provided some entertainment. Yuudai threw on his robe and headed out the door and down the banister.

“Step, right, lunge, great job Amaya.” she blushed a deep pink.
“Arigato Miyamoto-Sensei.”
“Well, you deserve it. Shall we end for today?” She looked rather disappointed but nodded. “Good, we will take this up next Friday.” He bowed deeply. Amaya fallowed suite.
“Arigato Miyamoto-Sensei.” All formalities resolved and she gave him a big smile, “See you next Friday.” She turned and ran to the locker rooms. Isamu watched her leave.
`If only she knew.' He thought sadly as he walked around the training arena, picking up the few things left behind. The clock chimed, one hour till he had to meet Yuudai. Isamu finished his morning meditation and took a shower. As he was leaving the shrine he tied back his hair and jumped in his car, ready to meet his oldest and dearest friend.

Sakura smiled as she thought about those mornings events.
Amaya, as usual, had gotten up late, and was rushing to get ready. Sakura sat at the table patiently waiting to eat breakfast. When Amaya finally emerged in her traditional black silk kimono covered with red blossoms. Her hair was done up in a high bun, held by chopsticks. Sakura smiled, Amaya was wearing make-up. She never wore make-up to her workouts, that was, until recently.
“You look nice today.” Sakura stated as Amaya sat down on the table.
“Yeah, I just thought I would try something new.”
“Oh really…” Amaya blushed, “Are you sure it's not because of your handsome sensei?” Amaya's face turned the color of the flowers on her kimono. Her eyes darted away from Sakura to the table.
“No, I just like to look nice every once and awhile. Is that ok?” Her eyes surveyed the food in front of her. “Hey… isn't it your birthday? Shouldn't I make you breakfast?”
“Yeah right, you could never get up on time.” Both girls laughed. As breakfast was finished, they chatted and made plans for the evening. Amaya glanced over at the clock.
“Shit, I'm late!!” Amaya shrieked. “Ok… tonight after work, you and I will party like its 1999.”
“Amaya… it is 2006.”
“You get the drift.” She slipped on her shoes.
“Ama…”
Amaya looked at the door, “Yeah Saku?” Sakura didn't even look up as she calmly drank her tea.
“You should tell him.” Amaya blushed.
“I can't Saku… you know… it's complicated.” She looked down, and then smiled at Sakura, “Have a nice morning, I'll see you in three.”
“Bye love.” Amaya walked out and quietly shut the door behind her.
“Sakura… hey… you awake?” Sakura's memory shattered like a piece of glass. Looking at her where a pair of blue eyes, strained with worry.
“Yeah Annie, I'm fine.” She smiled at her manager. Annie was so caring. She had started at the bottom of the Starbucks ladder, and worked her way up. Now she was the manager of her own store.
“For a moment there I thought I had lost you.”
“I'm fine… really.”
“It was that dream again… wasn't it?”
“Yeah…”
“Ever think of seeing a councilor?”
“Yeah, but how could they help me, I have no past to evaluate? I can't remember anything.” Sakura said annoyed.
“Just a thought kiddo; oh look… here comes the morning rush.” There was Grande mochas and Venti caramel macchiatos for the next hour. Sakura couldn't wait to see Amaya to get there. She really wanted to know about the lessons.

Amaya sat on the bus thinking back to her lesson. Isamu sure was looking good that morning. `Damn,' she thought, `of all the Sensei in the area, I have to pick the hot one.' She rolled her eyes. This morning had been rough on her.
THREE HOURS EARLYIER
In a candle lit room, metal flashed, creating sparks with each touch. In the lightly whirling wind, the flames danced against the walls, creating shadows that flowed across the tatami mats. Bare feet touched soundlessly, like flowing water. Incense burned in the corner, causing a smoky mist to hang in the air. Rich smells invigorated the two lone people their stances strong, blades raised, almost in a predatory fashion. Skin felt like it was on fire.
Panting heavily, Amaya faced down her opponent. He was tall, 5'11”, with long brown, wavy hair. His tan haori set his blazing violet eyes alive. His strong chin was set, and his muscles rippled under his tan skin. Amaya breathed in deep… she couldn't take this torture much longer. What she really wanted to feel was his strong arms wrapped around her body. She shook her head to clear the thoughts, `easy girl!' she mentally scolded her self.
She lounged at him. In the last second he backed out of her reach, his dark blue Hakamas moving smoothly with his legs. She pivoted left, causing her hair to fall from its bun, wavy auburn hair locks cascaded around her face. He ran at her. Just at the last possible breath, she dropped to the floor; kicking his legs out from under him… he fell. Amaya leap up, removed the sword from his reach, and pounced on him… pinning him to the mats. Her legs startled his body. She realized her open position all too late. He hooked his leg around hers and flipped her. Now he was laying full out on top of her… the sword positioned at her throat.
“Uncle!!!!”
“Very good Amaya, just a few more exercises.” She completed a few more basics, and all too soon he said it was time to go. Amaya had taken a cold shower and prepared for work.
Now that she was on the bus, she thought about something that had been bugging her. When her hair had fallen down, she could have sworn that he had gasped. But more importantly, when she had pinned him like she did… had he… blushed?

Amaya walked into the building more confused than ever. Sakura had been waiting as usual. Things at the store had calmed down, and now there was nothing to do. Amaya put on her apron and punched in.
Sakura asked tentatively, “So… how where your lessons?” She could tell by the look that something was bothering Ama.
Amaya didn't look up, “Fine.”
“Don't lie to me… I know something is up!” Amaya blushed slightly; her hand went up to her cheek. “Come on… I know you… now tell me all the juicy details!”
“He blushed.”
Sakura's jaw dropped, “What?!”
“Wait… he blushed… you're all excited because he blushed?!” Sakura sighed and rolled her eyes. She through her hands up in the air, “You amaze me! You're absolutely impossible!”
“Look, this man has been trained to be emotionless. A blush is a very-y-y…” Amaya's hand flew to her mouth.
“Oh what… did he smile at you to? Is that it?”
“Oh Kami…”
Sakura was so exasperated, “WHAT!!”
“He is here.”

Yuudai climbed out of his red Ferrari. He shielded the sun from his eyes by putting on his dark sunglasses. He looked around at his surroundings, `Ahhh… the local Starbucks, nothing like mingling with the masses.'
“Hey!” He heard coming from across the parking lot. Yuudai turned his hazel eyes to the man walking toward him.
“You know, why you pick a place like this is beyond me. We could have stayed at my mansion.” Yuudai wrapped his arms in a warm, friendly hug. “Kami… I haven't seen you in months.”
“Maybe that is because you have been on a cruise in the Bahamas. How many women did you get this time?” Isamu gave his friend a pat on the back.
“Too many to count man, you should have come with me… the women.”
“You know my place is here with the shrine.” Yuudai smiled at his friend.
“So seriously, why this place, why not the mansion? Big screen TV, all the food you could eat… video games man.”
“Well Yuudai… sometimes you need a reality check. We can't all be billionaire playboys you know. Some of us have to work for a living.”
“Yeah, what a shame.” Yuudai laughed and opened the door.
“Sometimes I think you are totally void of humility.” Isamu stated as they walked through the doors.
“Hey, I'm rich, handsome, and available… I think I can afford to be a jerk.” Isamu looked at Yuudai with a disapproving gaze.
“I don't know how women stand you.” He folded his arms.
“It's the money man… and the looks.”
“Sensei?” Isamu turned to the counter. Standing behind the register was his beautiful student.
“Amaya, I didn't know you worked here.” He was too surprised to smile. A little pink dusted her cheeks, and she smiled shyly.
“You never asked Sensei.”
“Your not in class, you can call him Isamu,” Yuudai looked at his friend, “Is this the favorite student that you keep telling me about? Going to introduce me?” Amaya blushed even more. Isamu couldn't take his eyes off of her. His mouth felt like it was full of cotton.
H cleared his throat, “Amaya, I'd like you to meet Yuudai.” Her eyes widened.
“Oh my God… the Yuudai Takahashi?” Yuudai nodded. “Wow, what a pleasure.” She shook his hand. “What ever you guys want, it is on the house.”
“Umm… I will have a Quad Venti extra caramel, Caramel Macchiato.” Yuudai smiled and winked at her. She smiled and blushed a deep red.
“And you Sensei?”
`Her eyes are so beautiful. It is like they are searching for something.' Isamu stared into her eyes, afraid to lose the connection he felt.
“Isamu, there is a line.” Yuudai slapped him in the back of the head.
“Sorry. I'll have a Venti Soy, no water Chai Latte. Thanks Amaya.” He said her name softly.
“No problem.” Yuudai slipped a fifty dollar bill in the tip jar, causing Amaya to gasp.
“Hey beautiful, you deserve it.”
“T-Thank you,” Amaya gushed, “Sakura will have your drinks up at the end of the bar.”
“Wow man, she is a beauty. How did you stay off her for so long? If I was you, I…” Yuudai got a strange look on his face, “Isamu… are you gay?”
“What, no, and you better keep your hands off. She is my student.”
“Yeah, yeah, she is yours. But I tell ya what, if Sakura is anything like Amaya, I'm coming here more often.”
“Quad Vent extra caramel, Caramel Macchiato.” Yuudai went to reach for his drink, his fingers falling on hers. Innocent blue eyes met Knowing hazels ones… and time… stopped…
