The Titans and Kai drove down the road in the T-car in some what of an eerie silence.

“So uh…” Said Robin.

“Oh sorry the name Kai, Hagara.”

“Are you really from hell?”

“Yep!” Beamed Kai. “A place of fire and brimstone where there is no night and the sky is always red.” Kai seemed very proud of where he came from even if it was Hell.

“Please friend what is this hell you speak of?” Asked Starfire.

“It's a place were only the wicked go after when they die to be punished.” Said Robin. Everyone looked at Kai a little uneasily. Kai looked at Robin a little aggravated and sighed.

“Ya tanks Robin, reaaal smooth. Contrary to popular belief Hell is a planet not some where you go after death. But think whatever you want I don't care much.” Once more everyone was silent and Kai was just sick of how uncomfortable it was.

“So uhhh Cyborg is this uhh your car?”

“Ohh yaaa she's my baby. She has 2000 horsepower, double turbine….” Kai almost regret asking because he went on and on about it.

“Ya, ya, ya that's wonderful but man come on you should get like an old school vet.” Cyborg flicked his tong.

“Pft, what do you know about cars?” Spat Cyborg.

“I know that the Skyline could beat this or any car in a race.”

“What!?” The two had started what would have seemed like a never ending battle about cars and it would have lasted longer if Robin hadn't intervened. They soon could see Titans Tower. Kai looked long and hard at it before asking.

“You guys live in a giant T?”

“Ya why?” Asked Robin

“Oh nothing, nothing. (Man what a bunch of weirdo's.)”

 

Despite what he had thought Kai did like the inside of the tower. Anyone would have been amazed by the latest technological marvels that they had, especially Kai. Living on a planet with zero technology got very old very quickly.

 

“Why are you here?” Said Raven in here usual cold monotone voice.

“Oh ya, Okay then let me just go straight out and tell you.” Kai took a deep breath. “The Devil has somehow been released and is coming to destroy the earth.” There was a long silence then Cyborg and Beastboy started to laugh. Kai angrily stomped his foot on the ground.

“THIS ISN”T A JOKE!” Yelled Kai. “I didn't come all this way to be laughed at! But hey if you don't want my help you can die it's not like I care.” Cyborg and Beast boy shut up quickly and the serious of the matter.

“Kai calm down.” Said Robin. Kai took another deep breath. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a flask then tacking a sip.

“Whatever, anyways like I was saying the Devil is coming and he's bringing a damn big army with him too. Lat…”

“Dude, how could you know this?” Said Beast boy.

“STOP INTURUPTING DAMN IT!” At this little outburst Beast Boy turned into a cat and hid behind Starfire.

“Like I was saying, lately strange things have been happening on my planet, really strange things.”

“Like what?” Asked Robin.

“These weird black creatures have been popping up everywhere and attacking everything and anything that is alive. Normally this wouldn't be a problem because my planet is always in constant war but…” Kai stopped. He looked some what worried maybe even scared. “But they've been coming in these huge swarms like bugs and there hard to kill. Later my brother and I had learned that these things were his minions and they were collecting souls for his resurrection. Once he is resurrected he'll come here to take his vengeance for the humans that sealed him away. I think you know the rest like why I'm here.”

 

Everyone seemed shocked like some one had already passed a death sentence on them. The Devil the real Devil is coming to earth? The Titans had faced some enemies that they could consider a Devil like Slade or Trigon but the real thing!? It seemed like some horrible that they could wake up from.

 

“So how long do we have until he comes.” Said Cyborg dimly.

“Well there are four seals that must be broken then he'll need souls to regane his power. On top of that my race that doesn't want to be destroyed will fight off the creatures. I've estimated about a year.” Kai looked around seeing there hopeless faces. He felt kind of bad to tell them the news but it had to be done.

“Guys I'm not going to tell you not to worry but remember someone had defeated him and they were only humans. If they could do it so can we.” Suddenly Cyborg punched the air.

“Come on guys were the Teen Titans. We haven't lost before and we ain't gunna lose now.”

“Cyborg's right we can defeat him and plus we have a new ally.” Robin turned to see Kai nodding. Cyborg's little pep talk seemed to work, the mood in the room seemed much better.

 

For the next hour everyone just relaxed in their lounge. Beast Boy and Cyborg were playing a videogame, both of who were yelling at each other accusing one another of cheating. Raven was reading her book waiting for the kettle to boil for her herbal tea.

Robin and Kai were talking about Earth and Hell and Starfire was cooking something for Kai since he said he hadn't eaten anything for three days now.

 

“Man Robin up until today all I had to worry about was finding that little prick Trigon.” Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to Kai.

“You know who Trigon is?” Asked Raven.

“Know him, me and Malchior had to fight that big idiot servile times.” The mention of Malchior was enough for Kai to get everyone's full attention.

“How do you know Trigon and Malchior.” Said Raven. She could remember those times in her life that pushed her to the edge, she only wish she could forget.

“Dude the guys like as big as this building trust me we've met on Hell. He's more of a hassle then that stupid dragon Rorek.”

“How do you know this?” Snapped Raven.

“Well Malchior and I are Sorcerers. He had defeated Rorek while I was still in the damn castle trying to kill the hundreds of minions. I told him to wait for me but noooooooo he said he could defeat Rorek, idiot, nearly got himself killed. I think he trapped him in a book or something like that.” This was just a shocked to everyone, especially to Raven. Now that Kai had mentioned it there was a second person in that story but he wasn't really mentioned much. The more she thought about it the more those painful memories returned along with her anger. He lied to her and twisted her heart. Raven only wished she could ring Rorek's neck.

 

“How do you know Malchior?” Snapped Raven again even more angrily.

“What do you mean how do I know him? I've know him all my life.” Said Kai somewhat confused.

“Yes, but how did you meet him?”

“What do you mean; you can't really meet your own brother.” At that last answer everyone's eyes must have been as big as dinner plates.

“Wait a minuet how do you guys know him?”

Robin explained everything to him. How Raven had found the book, how Rorek had befriended Raven and eventually being freed and then resealed in the book. Kai shook his head disgusted angry at what had happen.

 

“Damn that bastard.” Said Kai.

“What's done is done it's meaningless to dwell on the past.” Said Raven. Kai shrugged, she was right there was nothing to do about it then just forget. Just then Starfire brought Kai a bowl.

“Alright sweet pudding!” Beast Boy paused the game for a moment to think.

“Pudding? Wait Kai don't eat…” But Beast Boy's warning was just a little too late. Kai had already put a spoon full into his mouth. No sooner did he do so that Kai's face went sour and he went pale. He swallowed with much discomfort then placed his head on the counter.

 

“I think by stomach just imploded.” Mumbled Kai.

“Friend what is the matter are you ill?” Said Starfire. Kai looked up at her with his head cocked to the side.

“Uhh ya Kai like the unwritten law here are never eat Starfire's food….. and don't let Raven cook.” Said Beast Boy. Raven's eye peered over her book giving Beast Boy a cold stare.

 

“Ya well I think I won't be eating any time soon.” Whimpered Kai.

“Kai if you're a sorcerer why do you carry a sword.” Asked Robin. Cyborg turned off his Game station. Learning about Kai seemed far more entertaining, that or it was because he was losing to Beast Boy, for once.

 

“Ya man, shouldn't you be able to do magic stuff like Raven?” Said Cyborg.

“I can but channeling magic through a sword can be a very useful weapon.” Kai loved talking to his new found friends but it had gotten dark and he felt overstaying his welcome would feel uncomfortable. Maybe he was right but it has been so long since Kai had anyone to talk to and he just didn't want to leave. He sighed deeply.

“Well I better get going guys.” He got up and headed for the door. He wondered where the hell he was going to sleep. Kai shook off the thought, he had been in worse situation before and this would be no problem. Starfire quickly flew over the counter and pulled Kai's arm. She did it so hard Kai thought it might pop out of his socket.

 

“Please friend do not leave. What will you do and where will you stay and…” She spoke faster with an onslaught of questions.

“Ya man stay here with us for a while.” Said Cyborg.

“Really?”

“Please, it's the least we can do to make up for what happened.” Said Robin. Kai was so surprised how concerned they were about his own well being. He graciously accepted. Beast Boy helped him show him the way to a room. While those two were gone Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven decided to have a little, meeting.

 

“Hey guys I think we should make Kai a Titan.” Said Cyborg.

“No.” Snapped Raven.

“Well why not? He's a great fighter, hell he sliced my arm and legs off. I think it be good to have a demon of his strength helping out wit….”

“Precisely why we shouldn't let him. He's a demon how can he be trusted?” Already Raven seemed hell bent on not letting him on the team let alone staying here.

“But Raven are you yourself not a demon?” Inquired Starfire.

“Half-demon.”

“That may be so but just because Trigon was a demon bastard doesn't mean all demos are.” Said Robin.

“Unlikely.” Muttered Raven.

“Also he is kind and he is are friend no?” Said Starfire.

“So was Terra and she turned on us.”

“You're comparing apples to oranges Raven.” Said Cyborg angrily.

“Am I?”

“Ya you are! I don't know what the hell crawled up your ass and died but maybe just maybe he is a descent guy.” The friction between the two was so great it seemed that a fire might break out at any moment. Robin came between the two disarming the situation. Raven pivoted on her heals and floated back to the counter to read.

 

“Do whatever you want.” Just then Kai and Beast Boy entered.

“Wow you guys have a nice setup here. Man, I wished I had a big room like that at home. Come to think about it I wish I had technology back home.”

“Well if you like it so much maybe you should say here permanently.” Said Robin. Kai gave him a baffled look. His only response was a “huh?”

“What I mean is how about you become a Teen Titan.” Kai could have sworn that Robin said he wanted him to become a Titan.

“(I must be ill from Star's pudding.) For Real?” Kai asked just to be sure he heard right.

Robin nodded. What else could he do but start yelling at the top of his lungs with excitement. Finally for once in his life he had found somewhere where he could belong. He had never planed this day to be so great, hell he didn't even think that anyone would believe him to begin with.

 

“Ya this is gunna be sweet maybe you can put up more of a challenge at game station the B.B” Said Cyborg.

“Hey it not my fault that you cheat!”

“Ahhh you better not be going there.” Already they had gotten into another stupid ass argument but Kai just tried drowning them out. While they were bickering Kai was drawing an elaborate drawing onto the floor

 

“What are you doing?” Said Starfire.

“I keep my stuff in a completely different dimension just to keep it safe and junk. Don't worry it's completely safe.”

 

As Kai finished he placed his palms on it and pressed down. The symbol pulsed red and shot red lighting up into the air. The air had become suddenly cold; all the lights started to flicker then exploded only leaving the red hue of the lighting that made the shadows dance eerily. The lighting converged to one point then it expanded creating a reddish portal. Now it was beginning to become hard to see anything. Wheat they did see was three large rectangular boxes fall out of it and open up sending something spilling onto the floor. Kai snapped his fingers and servile small balls of white light illuminated the room.” Sorry about that, it sometimes dose that. Aww damn it all my stuff.”

 

What had fallen out were old wooden suitcases that had opened up dumping out a lot of different stuff, most of with were books. What was kind of odd was that everything that Kai had was something that they would expect Raven to have. “(It must be a magic thing.)” Thought Beast Boy. Then everything that had fallen out started to levitate and be placed back into the suitcases.

 

“You read?” Said Cyborg.

“Ya.”

“Why?!” Said Beast Boy.

“There are like two things to do on Hell, kill something or read and believe me killing monsters gets real old real fast. Plus readings fun.” Cyborg and Beast Boy just started at him like he was crazy.

“Well I think it's fun.” Mumbled Kai as he hopped up onto on of the floating suitcases sticking his arm into the portal. He pulled out a long black robe then reached in again and pulled out a long, sharp scythe.

 

“What the hell is that?!” Exclaimed Cyborg.

“Huh? Oh theses ya in my family it like tradition to where it and use a scythe. I don't remember what you humans call me. You humans I think portray me as a skeleton.”

“You mean the Grim Reaper?!” Yelled Cyborg.

“Ya that's it. My family got the reputation with how well we could use magic and how well we adapted it to a scythe. It's all on my father's side cuz my mom was human and all.”

“That would make you a…” Said Starfire

“Half-demon? Yep. Hey guys if you don't mind I think I'm going to go to bed.”

“That's a good idea. Remember we have battle practice tomorrow morning to we should all get are rest. You can come to Kai if you like.” Said Robin.

“Sure.”

 

As they left Cyborg passed up Raven and wisped. “A half-demon Rae, just like you.”
