Raven had difficulty sleeping that night. She had tried meditating to ease here mind but that was to no avail. She decided to take a little walk hoping that it would help. She made her way down to the kitchen to get a drink. The light from the refrigerator was one of the few things that illuminated the dark room.
“Hello there.” Raven was startled by the unknown voice and dropped her glass. The glass turned black and floated in place. She turned to see that in fact it was Kai sitting near the table reading. With a flick of his wrist he set the glass back onto the table. He had been wearing his black robe, wasn't a surprise why she hadn't seen him.
“What are you doing here?” Ask Raven.
“Reading.”
“In the dark?”
“Well I did have the lights on but when I heard someone walking I turned them off.” Raven shrugged and sat at the table with Kai.
“Soooo uhhh nice weather we're havin.” Said Kai.
“Kai it's night.”
“…..Righhhhht. I've never been good at small talk. Anyways I can tell you don't want me here am I right?” She didn't answer.
“Don't get me wrong and all I don't blame you…”
“It's not you it's…”
“Me being a half-demon?”
“Yes.”
“If you'll let me are you a half-demon?” Raven nodded.
“That's kinda cool not cuz you're a half-demon but because you know what it's like to be one.” Raven turned to him with a razed eyebrow.
“Ya you know the meditation, the whole `I can't show too much emotion or my powers go outa whack', you know shit like that.” Raven had never thought of other half-demons up until now. She never thought that they might go through everything she goes through.
“But true fully I would never ever endangered you or your friends.”
“Don't you mean our friends?” A smile crept across Kai's face.
“So dose that mean I'm your friend too?”
“Sure, but if you want my trust you're going to have to earn it.” Now Kai was confused. How can she be his friend but not trust him?
“Haaaohhhhh, I have to take a nap!” Kai was completely lost at what she said. Raven couldn't help but smile at his dazed look.
“We better get to bed, it's already 1:00.” Said Raven. The two walked down the hallway exchanged goodnights and went to bed.
