Chapter 3

(Alice's home)

Out the window, Alice saw the moon. She laughed softly to herself. *I can't believe I still believe I still believe in fairy tales, I'm 17 already!*

Yep, she still wished even though she knew it would never happen.

Her gaze left the moon. She lighted a scented candle. *Why not? They say candles don't only light up a room…*

She put the candle on a little wooden desk. Next to the candle was a small, pale blue book.

Alice opened the lock and turned to a blank page.

…It lights up your soul.

Next morning

*Ring*

*Huh? Why isn't Alex getting the phone? Oh well.* Alice slowly got up from bed and picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Alice! It's me Alex, you know your older brother. Since it is Friday, I have doctor's appointment. But no fear I think that friend of yours might drive you to the music school."

"But..." Before she could finish, he hanged up.

Suddenly Alice felt silly for not remembering the directions to her music school. She stared out the window.

*Huh? Is that a bus? Oh no… It is school time!* She put her thoughts aside.

Quickly she pulled out her backpack and joined Isabella in her car.
