Chapter Forty-two: Rebirth

"Genki...why'd you have to do it....?" Mimi cried, tenderly brushing a strain of his hair away from his pale face. His eyes closed forever in death. "It's all my fault....Genki I was going to die anyway in a few years of cancer....if only I told you then you wouldn't of died for nothing."

The group hearing this looked shocked before more pain covered their faces....they were going to loose both of them....

Carrie stepped forward, tears shimmering in her eyes.

"Mimi....He knew."

"What?" the fairy-half looked shocked. "What did you say, Carrie?"

"He knew ever since we went to your village..." The Fernandez admitted.

"Then....why....why did he....?"

"Because he loved you, more then anything else in the world."

Mimi clenched her fists, tears rolling down her face as she cried out loud in agony, throwing herself onto the dead boy as she cried loudly. receiving looks of pity from the rest.

Ryan stared down at Parfait who laid in his arms eyes closed. Mara approached him slowly, kneeling down next to him.

"Is she all right?"

"I don't know...Parfait! Parfait! Wake up!" He shook her worriedly.

The little girl moaned, opening her large green eyes, which blinked confused, she smile up at Ryan, sleepily.

"Oh...good morning Bro...I had the most frightening dream...I dreamt that the school was burning down, and that I was captive by this mean old man and he did experiments on me..." She mumbled tiredly.

"Parfait!" Ryan sobbed holding her close to him. The child blinked confused, looking around herself.

"Where am I?"

Her eyes spotted Mimi holding Genki's body covered blood and screamed out in shock.

"Ahh!! What happened!? Is that, Genki? Oh Mimi!! Are you all right!?" Parfait exclaimed dashing up to the fairy-half whom was still crying. Mimi looked down at her, standing to her feet, eyes filled with anger and hate for a quick moment and sent a punch to Parfait's face, sending her crashing to the floor with a yelp.

"You did this!" She sobbed, turning away from the girl and running.

"Mimi!!" Carrie exclaimed chaseing after the fairy-half as she dashed from the room while everyone else just looked stunned.

Ryan hurried over to his sister, picking her off of the ground. Parfait rubbed her lip, feeling some blood on it.

"What did I do?" She asked innocently, looking at Ryan with hurt eyes. "Was that horrible nightmare real....did I....?" her voice became small and she began to cry, throwing her arms around her brother's waste. "I'm sorry!! I'm so sorry!!! Don't hate me!! I didn't mean to!!"

"Parfait....it's ok..." Ryan reassured. "You were under Taromeicka's control."

"..............."

"I don't hate you, Mara do you hate her?"

"No of course not!" The cat exclaimed, turning to the others. "Do you guys blame her for what happened?"

The group shook there heads no, slowly.

"See, no one hates you, Parfait." Ryan reassured.

"Mimi does..." The girl pulled away from him, rubbing some tears away from her eyes with her fists.

"No she doesn't. She was just a bit hurt. She cared for Genki, in her eyes you were still Hikari at that moment. She doesn't blame you."

"Genki hates be though, for sure. I killed him!"

"No." Ryan shook his head, speaking softly. "Genki would never hate a child like you. He is not a bitter person. He would never blame a child that was under Taromecika's control."

".......Even so.....I still killed someone...." Parfait began to cry again. Ryan did not know what to say, but Squall walked up to them, kneeling down beside the little girl.

"It's not your fault. I have a very good friend, named Lemon. He was experimented on and alliterated into an evil creature too, but he returned back to normal...he is not a bad person, never was, it was just Taromecika's experiments and alteration machine which made him do as he did. The evil things you did as Hikari is not what you wanted to do, but what Taromecika and Saiyoua wanted you to do."

"....Really? So I am not a bad girl?"

"No of course not." Squall reassured.

".....I want to go apologized to Mimi. I don't want her mad at me...." Parfait tugged at Ryan's arm, pleadingly.

"All right." Ryan took her hand, standing up. He looked at Squall and smiled an thanks which the man-beast returned.

Mimi sobbed, kneeling down near the door which lead to the 46th floor, sobs having died down to a few tears, eyes wide in shock and pain, she just stared infront of her, blankly.

Carrie approached her, kneeling down next to her, so she could look into her eyes.

"Mimi....."

"Carrie....I didn't mean to hit her.....I was just so angry at the moment.....I never felt like that in my life....I just wanted to take it out on some one, even though I knew it wasn't her fault...."

"It's all right...we all get angry."

".......But Carrie....why did he have to die? I feel as though, I killed him. If I could only have been strong enough to defend myself then....he would not have....died."

".....We all feel guilty at times...but that was not your fault. We all could be just a little stronger, just little braver, a bit faster, smarter, but we are all who we are. He loved you because you were the person you are right now."

"But....he's gone.....and I never.....I never got to tell him that......." She sobbed. "Genki why did you have to start breaking you promises now?"

"Mimi your not planning to do anything stupid are you?" Carrie asked concerned.

"Me....no. I want to kill myself...I want to go see Genki again in the life stream...but he died to save me. How could I kill myself after that? I have no reason to go on living the few short years I have left....but I will because he gave his life so I could have those few short years. I wont let his death be for nothing."

"Mimi....."

The fairy-half stood to her feet, wiping her puffy eyes as Parfait and the rest of the group approached them. Parfait ran up to her, eyes dancing with tears.

"I am so sorry Mimi!! I didn't mean to hurt kill the one you loved!! I didn't mean to....!" She sobbed.

Mimi raised up her hand, and the little girl closed her eyes expecting to be hit, but instead felt the top of her head being patted gently. She looked up at Mimi confused.

"I'm sorry, Parfait, that I hit you. I know it wasn't your fault, I was so just so mad for a second. Your right, I did love him, I just wish I could of told him that....but...." She squeezed her eyes shut. "Parfait, I don't blame you, I never will."

"Mimi!" The little girl, gave her a hug, crying, and Mimi returned it slowly, allowing her own tears to roll down her cheeks.

Keith fell back into his chair, shocked. His took the head phones slowly off his ears, turning away from a computer which sat in his new room of the Capsule Corp.

"He's....dead...." He mumbled slowly.

"Master Keith?" Arisu asked slowly was ignored as Keith got to his feet.

"Arisu, tell Lounaru that he may have some fun with Ryan...and make sure Mara is with him, but not to hurt her. The rest can battle the rest of the twisted children and some old androids. I'll battle Ryan myself in a little while."

"....Master Keith....?"

"Oh, and tell Nagisa, that I know what she did, and that I will punish her for it."

Keith walked in the TV room, gazeing down at the body of his cousin. For a moment the evil and insane look vanished from his face as he knelt down next to the unmoving body.

"I don't believe it....you really are dead." He wiped the messy bangs out of the boys eyes. " You could have joined our side, I would of accepted you, puberty boy. I guess I did like having you around when we were kids....and I did think of you as a brother. I...I would turn you into a android, to have you around again...but that would just be your body, a machine could never contain your sprit. It's funny I never thought I would miss you....your were always such a trouble maker." Keith scooped up the boy in his arms. " I wont change sides, I love the power, and this is my destiny...but I can't just leave you laying hear to rot." Keith looked thoughtful. "You once told me that when you died...you wanted to be burned that way your ashes could be spread over the city, so you could always be close and watch over everyone you loved in the city. I will do that for you...as the last kind thing I will ever do in this life."

Keith carried Genki down stares to the first floor furnace room, he opened the door, allowing the heat to wash over them. Inside the furnace was a roll in, roll out, large board in which they would set the coal on to be rolled into the giant furnace. He pulled the board out, and gently sat the boy on top of it. He slowly with trembling fingers undid Genki's pony-tail, allowing the long shimmering brown longs to fall down his back, before laying the boy down, and crossing his arms over his chest. Keith crossed himself, saying a small prayer for the boy, the manner was very unlike his beliefs, but he raised as a Christian as was Genki so it only seemed natural. Finally he leaned over, and kissed his forehead gently, before pushing the board into the flames and shutting the door.

In his heart he felt like crying as his listend to the fire consume the boy and the smell of the roasting flesh fill his nostrils, but he was to strong to cry....he wouldn't....he had given up his heart....but still....it hurt to witness this.

After he was sure the body had been consumed entirely, he opened the door, pulling out the board, seeing nothing but ashes left on it, he took a small jar in which laid on the floor and a brush. Kneeling down he tenderly and carefully brushed Genki's remains into the jar and held them close to himself. No longer able to fight it, he allowed a tear to roll down his check, but that was it.

The group had nearly had passed threw the puzzles, sadly, and now they stood infront of the 49th floor door, no puzzle was around, but the door was locked, suddenly the intercom buzzed to life.

"Hello, so I see some of our little guests has made it." Lounaru's voice surrounded them, the tone it was in was almost mocking.

"Lounaru, what do you want, huh?" Ryan growled, still injured by the death of his friend. Parfait squeezed his hand frightened.

"Oh just want to see how much you have been paying attention to this building so far. I will ask you a few questions about a few certain things...if you get them right, you may go on, but if you don't then, you will burn. I will set you all on fire, understand? Good, shall we begin?"

"Do we have a choice?" Ryan retorted.

"No. Question one. What was the name of the boyfriend Dunya injected with Centan, was it

A. Marcus Cooper

B. Joseph Barkin

C. Jack Danials."

The group stood in silence, puzzled....they didn't know the answer, they knew they read it some where before.

"Think Carrie, think!" The Fernandez shouted at herself. "Rose read me a big file on this, but both the names Jack Danials and Joseph Barkin sound familiar...."

"Try and think hard about it." Mara pressured.

"...........I think the name was....Jack....No...Joseph....yes it was Joseph Barkin."

"Is that your final answer?"

"Yes."

"And your.....right! Give the girl a hand fokes! Ok! Now for round two! Two of the Brief sisters loved blood baths and would kill and torture prisoners and servants in the courtyard. Were they...

"C. Dunya and Elisabeth were the torturers." Squall answered.

"Right again!" Lounaru exclaimed crazily. "Now tell me this! Which sister was in love with her own older brother!? Was it...

"It was Lisa." Carrie spoke up. " I could tell by the way she looked when she said his name."

"Wow, once again the right answer was given! Now on to question four. A few years ago Angeles witnessed a gruesome murder. Two children were playing outside their house and were chopped into tiny pieces with in ax! Blood, broken bones, and death...what a tragic end to such innocent lives. What was the name of the killer who committed this vile act? Was it...

"It was Duke...I was there when he found the body." Lima frowned sadly, thinking of the boy whom had died not all that long ago.

"The blond has gotten two in a row! Good job! Question number six. Genki was a great artiest, and he loved to draw. He has a picture in his study of a fairy, whom looks a lot like a certain member of the group, but was drawn before he even met her! The title of the picture was...

Mimi's expression became funny, and she almost started to cry again.

"It was A." Lima answered quietly, wrapping her arms Mimi to comfort her.

"Woah! What's wrong with this? The dense one of the group is answering all the questions! All right! Question number seven. Elisabeth loved to torture victims in many cruel ways and bath in their blood. Which of the following was NOT one of her torture methods?

A. having naked girls smeared with honey and then forcing them to stand

outside for twenty-four hours and endure bites from insects.

".............." The group exchanged looks, not knowing the answer, it had been Genki who had read about Elisabeth's torture methods when he went into her room. They had no idea. Ok....thinking about Elisabeth...makeup, long hair, fancy dress, very classy looking. A and B seemed to be something a woman not wanting to do to much work to torture her victims, and most classy women are the type to not like unneeded work.

"C?" Ryan said nervously.

"Ohhhh! And your....right! Lucky guess! Question number eight. Which tree suicide items did Genki have hidden in his bed room draw

Mimi whimpered, starting to cry again. Ryan swallowed heavily, eyes turning sad as he thought about the boy and what he remembered seeing tucked away in the draw.

"It was A..."

"Damn....what's with all the blonds answering!?"

"Don't talk with sterotypes!" Ryan snarled. "Your a blond yourself."

"....Question number nine. Ok then, if you know so much about your friend, what was the name of his teddy-bear?

"Ted...." Mimi said softly. "I remember it....it made me laugh....it was just so cute...." she blinked back tears desperately wiping them away with her hand.

"And your right...good girl. Question number ten. one time worker at Capsule Corp, drug addtic, fired from her job because of substance abuse, found dead by an overdose of pills. What was her name?

"I remember...that was where we saw that strange writing `The guilty has been silenced thing...' The name of the girl was Cindy."

"It was Susza." Carrie answered.

"Hmmm....I am almost out of questions, for your sakes lets see if you can make it past round two! Question twelve. Capsule Corporation, before it became a since lab was used as prison were public executions would take place by an masked executioner, rumor has it that the executioner was a devil and was immortal and lived in Angeles before it even became the city it was today. The city was named Hadsain the ancient word used for the phrase.

"B." Ryan answered. "It find of freaked me out....guess that's why I remembered it."

"Good job Ryan. Question 13 final question will you have bad luck on it? Let's see...What was Genki Brief's blood type?

Mimi began to cry softly. "It was AB....I remember me and him laughing doing fortune telling with blood types....."

"Aww, Mimi..." Parfait said softly, squeezing the girl's hand trying to make her feel better.

"Mimi..." Ryan looked at her concerned.

"No...I am ok." She reassured, swallowing heavily trying to calm down her tears.

"Very good...now let the battle begin." Lounaru laughed, suddenly with cries of surprise Ryan and Mara disappeared in thin air, leaving Squall, Carrie, Lima, Mimi and Parfait behind looking around panicked for their lost team members.

"BROTHER!!!" Parfait wailed.

Squall's eyes opened wide. "Everyone...get ready to fight I hear something coming!"

The group backed away frightened as an loud noise came from the underside of the door, and into the hall way burst a line of about fifty android humans and twisted children.

"AHHHH!!!!" Parfait wailed, hiding her face with her hands.

"Parfait! I'll watch you!" Mimi exclaimed, grabbing the girl's hands and rushing to the back of the wall. She knew she wasn't all that strong...she could still help but...she felt as though that she had to protect the child above anything else and she knew her friends felt the same way.

"Everyone get ready!" Squall exclaimed and the battle started.

"Owww...." Mara groaned opening her eyes, seeing that they were standing in an large room. "Rya?" she asked spotting the demon-half standing by her side.

"Are you ok Mara?"

"I'm fine..."

"Where are we?" She asked.

"In my living area." Lounaru smiled, approaching them, resting a sword in his hands.

"Lounaru!" Ryan growled turning to him, looking a bit startled. `I do look like him....'

"Nice choice in hair styles...are you trying to copy me?" The pyromaniac laughed amused.

"I would rather mimic a insect then you!"

"An insect!? How dare you?" Lounaru growled, but forced himself to calm down. "...So, I see that Lemon is not with you?"

".......No he's not...."

"That's to bad. I was hopeing to get him back on my side. Oh well, I know he's not dead, so I have all the time in the world. So tell me Ryan, do you plan to kill me?"

"After all what you did? Yes. I will slaughter you!"

"I don't believe you can. But let's see! Why not? LET'S SEE TRY AND KILL ME!!!" Lounaru smirked, extending his hand and mockingly gestured Ryan to come.

"Gladly." Ryan reached for his winged sword but a voice in his head told him not to use it, but to use the demon sword instead. He did as instinct said and removed the black handled sword, the blade began to glow in a dark purple energy.

"Mara stay back, I don't want you hurt."

"All right, Rya. Please becareful..."

The two men circled each other, waiting for the other to make the first move. Each could feel their blood pounding in their chests. Mara watched both of them threw wide eyes, as she trembled in the corner `They look almost like....twins....'

Lounaru attacked forward rushing at Ryan with his sword drawn. Quickly Ryan blocked, the metals coming together sparked, as both pressed the blades together, trying to over power the other. Ryan won the first scuffle, throwing Lounaru away from him, and twisted his body, taking a strike at the other mans hip. Lounaru jumped out of the way, twirling in the air like an acrobat, bring his sword down behind Ryan, cutting him right down the back. The boy gasped, growling painfully, twisting towards Lounaru with an growl.

"Coward, attacking from behind now."

"I don't care about honor, I ONLY CARE ABOUT WINNING!!"

They locked swords again, Lounaru struck over and over again putting Ryan on the defensive as he was forced to block. Left, right, left, right, left, right. Ryan staggered for a moment, becoming tired, and with a sneer, stabbed Ryan threw the side. The demon-half stumbled backward with a gasp, clecnhing the wound in his fist.

"FIRE BALL!! MERRO!!!" Lounaru laughed tossing an huge ball of fire magic at the distracted Ryan.

"RYA!!!" Mara cried out fearfully.

The fire disappeared, and Ryan appeared, glowing, complete human with a pair of golden wings. He had transformed. Now Mara could only tell each apart only by the clothes and Ryan's wings.

"A little transformation wont stop me, Yahhhhhh!!!!" Lounaru dashed forward, slashing at Ryan repeatedly. Though powered up, something seemed to be zapping his strength, transforming into this form seemed to be causing him to become weaker. Lounaru grabbed him by his hair and slammed him against the wall, sending around six fire balls slamming into his back. Ryan transformed back to normal...breathing heavily.

"What was weakening me....? I wont give up though, no matter how weak I am!!" He rushed forward, sword ready to pierce threw Lounaru.

"Ha,ha,ha!!! Do you think you can win with a form like that!? Who thought you to sword fight!?"

"........." `Who did....? I...don't remember.....' Ryan thought but still dashed forward, bringing his sword down his slashed it across Lounaru's face, which twisted in surprise, an scar just like Ryan's. The demon-half almost gasped...the scar...now as he looked into the face of the other man, he noticed they had the exact same face...

"YOU!!!! YOU CUT BY FACE AGAIN!! MERRO!!!" Lounaru screamed attacking Ryan in a blind rage.

The other group members were still attacking, but enemies seemed to continue to rush at them, the swarm seemed like it was never going to end.

"WATER TWISTERS!!!"

"MAGICAL SWORDS!!!"

The two magic users summoned attacks, while Squall ripped at the flesh of the enemies with his claws and teeth. The wolf's face was covered in blood, making Parfait scream and cry out in fear from the corner of the room, while Mimi desperately tried to calm her down.

Two of the android humans slammed their fists into Carrie's back and stomach, causing the young girl to cry out painfully.

Lima twisted around to help her but was caught by an android human by the back, and held upside down in the air by her foot, and threw back into the wall. Squall watched this and attacked with rage, killing a few but was kicked to the stomach, sending him crashing into the ground with a whimper.

Carrie was back on her feet, and sent magical orbs blasting out at the twisted children and androids that came towards her. Lima had also recovered, raising her hand into the air she called on an wind attack, not her most powerful attack but it sent them staggering backwards, throwing them off balance, where her and Carrie doubled teamed to finnish them off. But more and more enemies kept on coming at them, attacking....but they weren't about to give up. Not now! Not ever!

Ryan and Lounaru exchanged blows now, not only with their swords but with their fists as well. Not knowing any kind of magic, unless transformed or useing his sword Ryan was at a disadvantage, but was still able to hold his own.

He caught Lounaru by his neck, holding him up into the air and throwing him on to the ground, jumping on to his chest, causing the crazy man to cry out in agony. Lounaru was not down for the count, but leapt to his feet, charging his blade with fire magic, the steal glowing bright red. Ryan cried out as the hot burning blade cut into his knee.

"MAGICAL SPHERES!!!" Carrie exclaimed bringing four magical spears of crystals and having them slam into the creatures bodies. She hated using an attack so much like the one that had killed Genki, but right now she had to kill off the attackers.

"BUBBLES!!!" Lima exclaimed, covering the area in a thick mist. The creatures stood confused being easy targets for Carrie and Squall.

"Mimi! This is so scary!! Please...I don't want to see anymore!!!" Parfait sobbed, hiding her face in Mimi's hair,

"Parfait, be strong. Have hope, our friends will win...I know they will."

"But all this death....!!"

".....Sometimes, some things can only be resolved by killing...." Mimi found herself saying. They were words she never thought in a thousand years she would be saying, but she knew that they were true.

Ryan cried out as he was repeatedly stuck in the face by Lounaru , he could hear Mara screaming out his name in the distant.

"BLEED RYAN, BLEED!!!!" Lounaru laughed insanely.

With an growl, the sword in his hand glowed brighter and Ryan could feel his demon instances take over. He hisses barring his fangs at an stunned Lounaru before he tore into his shoulder, ripping a junk of flesh from the crazy man's body. Blood sprayed from the wound, and Mara began to scream louder seeing Ryan devour the flesh, blood dripping from his teeth. She covered her face with her hands trembling as Lounaru gazed at Ryan in rage.

"YOU DIRTY----!!! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WASN'T INTO FOLLOWING YOUR DEMON SIDE, RYAN!!!" Lounaru kneed the other in the stomach, sending blood flying from Ryan's mouth as he was knocked onto the floor.

Ryan growled, tripping the other man. On the floor they wrestled, until Lounaru was on top of Ryan pounding into him with his fists, blood flying from Ryan's nose and mouth.

"RYA!!!" Mara exclaimed, dashing towards him, but Lounaru extended his hand, a circle of fire surrounding her stopping her from dashing to her friends side and forced to watch as Lounaru pounded into him like a punching bag.

"RYA!!!!!!!!!"

"Take this!! YAHHH!!!!" Carrie hissed, slashing into twisted children with her razor rings, and drop kicking an android, her foot going right through it's chest.

"WATER ARROWS!!!" Lima summoned, arrows of water crashed into the enemies, though made out of water they were strong enough to go right through their bodies.

Squall continued to rip apart the attackers with his teeth and claws, however to much were coming all at once, and some passed by them and began to rush towards Mimi and Parfait. The little girl screamed, shielding herself frighteningly with her arms.

`I have to protect her! It's up to me....but what can I do....no....Genki told me to believe in myself.....I will.....'

Mimi closed her eyes glowing pink, hair blowing back my an invisible wind. `I have hope...I have hope in my abilities....Genki....I will fight for you......'

A energy orb appeared in her hands, in the shape of a rose, raising her hands over her head she exclaimed.

"ROSE PASSION!!!"

Everyone stopped moving in stunned shock as pink magical beams, red rose petals flowing threw them raised from the ground, ripping their enemies bodies apart and turning them into rose petals. The light vanished and the red petals rained down on them, like a gentle rain.

".....Mimi?" Parfait asked, surprised.

".....The fairy princess of the roses...." Lima began. "Just like Genki's painting."

"I could feel him with me." Mimi smiled tearfully.

"Mimi?" Carrie began.

"I could feel Genki by my side. I can still feel him with me..."

The group smiled at her, before turning back to the matter at hand.

"We need to find Ryan and Mara." Squall said seriously to the girls. " I can smell them...they are near the top levels. Come on!"

Ryan's vision was going fussy but he forced himself to stay on his feet. He dashed forward in a desperate of attempt, holding his sword clumsily, no longer able to focus.

Lounaru saw this and grinned, sending a powerful kick to Ryan's chest as he approached, sending him crashing on to the ground where he lay unmoving.

"RYA!!! NO!!! RYA!!!!"

Lounaru approached the body, looking down at it smugly.

"Looks like your going to die....Eh? That sword...." Lounaru paused, staring at the black handled sword which Ryan desperately tried to reach. Suddenly the mad man gasped, feeling an sharp pain in his head. He cried out gripping his head with both hands, screaming as pain racked threw him. He opened his eyes breathing heavily, and looked down at Ryan, eyes growing wide as he saw a tiny little boy, red hair, brown skin and green eyes.

`Ryan....' A feminine voice thought in his head, allowing Ryan to reach his sword. Lounaru watched as Ryan got ready to strike from where he sat bleeding and painfully on floor, but instead of defending or attacking back he let his sword drop from his hand, allowing Ryan to strike him down. The flames disappeared from around Mara and she dashed over to where Ryan sat on the floor shocked. Lounaru's form shifted and changed. It changed into a woman with long blonde hair, a little bit of gray streaking it, she wore an long pink skirt, an yellow apron with pink flowers and a light yellow shirt. She was laying in a pool of blood, breathing heavily.

"Lounaru....?" Ryan said slowly crawling over to the body of them woman, it all felt so familiar, the woman breathed heavily, sweat gushing down her face bangs being matted to her forehead. She panted in pain, whimpering painfully, she seemed confused, in pain, and close to tears....she was slowly dying.

He saw this some where before...he saw this same woman die some where before, but...but where? Where did he see her die?

FLASH

A little red headed, brown skinned and green eyed demon-half ran outside into the snow,

behind him was a woman dressed in a ragged cloak holding a baby in her arms . She had beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes, and smiled at the little boy sweetly as he spoke to her.

"Hey mom, are we soon to Angeles, huh?" he asked excitedly.

"Yes. Very soon dear, we have good friends there whom will take care of us. Since your father disappeared so long ago...." She frowned, before smiling again. " But don't worry, we will soon have a nice warm place to go, Karen is staying in Angeles right now, she'll probably yell quite a bit at me, but she will make sure we are warm and feed."

"Yeah! I can't wait to get out of this cold!" The boy giggled, running down the hill happily, the woman smiled down at him, but suddenly froze, twisting around, an frightened look coming to her face, quickly she twisted around shielding the baby with her body as she pushed the boy out of the way of something, sending him crashing down on the snow.

The woman fell to the ground, blood flowing underneath her, her eyes becoming more distant and weaker by the moment. She handed the infant to the little boy who was screaming and crying, shaking and trembling all over.

"Take care of your sister....Go to Angeles, find your aunt...tell her...tell her to ....eh..." she coughed, sputtering up blood. " Tell her not to let you get involved with....the goddesses...but...if by some misfortune of faith you do then....take this." seeing his tears she reached up weakly brushing them away from his face, managing an sad smile as she took her had away and reached with an shaking arm beneath her cloak, pulling out an sword, much to big for the boy to handle.

"It was your father's sword...it will...protect you...but don't let...don't let the darkness in the sword control you..."

"Mommy...please don't die...." The boy sobbed, eyes shimmering with tears.

"I love you, both of you, remember that always...."

The woman went limp and the boy sobbed louder, shaking the woman desperately, burying his head in her cloak.

FLASH

Ryan did not know how it came to him but he found himself crying, muttered the words pleadingly. "Momma...."

"....Ryan.....Is......that.....you?" The woman looked up at him, eyes shimmering with tears. "You....grew up so much...my little boy....You look so different....you look....just like me...." She smiled weakly, reaching up and caressing his face.

"Mom...."

"Shhhh....don't cry, baby....don't cry. Is Parfait all right....?"

"Yes, Parfait is fine, mother. She is safe and well."

The woman smiled relived. "That's good....I knew you would take care of her well...."

"Mom, please, don't die...!"

".....I should of died....long time ago....I love you Ryan, and your sister, remember that always....tell Lemon not to feel guilty anymore for me.....Ryan....it was nice seeing you again before I die...it makes me....happy."

Ryan was crying as the woman went limp in his arms and died. He never thought he would be crying over Lounaru's body...but this was not Lounaru, this was his mom.

"Ryan?" Mara asked bewildered. "That was your mother? how...?"

"Like Parfait I think my mother was alliterated and controlled....Turned into a beast she wasn't....she was turned into a mad man named Lounaru....but behind that evil insane man...was my mother all along....that is why we had the same face...." Ryan's eyes continued to water. "All this time....Lounaru was my mother...and I....and I killed her...."

"Don't say that, it wasn't you fault....who knew Lounaru was an alteration victim? But how did you know that she was your mother Rya?"

Ryan silently reached under his shirt and pulled out Parfait's locket, opening it to reveal the picture of the woman, the same woman.

"After all these years being an orphan, I find my mother and....I kill her........."

"Keith, what are you doing?" Saiyoua asked sharply as she saw him walk over to the balcony, carrying a jar.

"Nothing mother." He answered and continued on his way. He stepped out onto the balcony, wind whipping at his body, blowing his hair and trench-coat back. He opened the jar allowing the wind to take the ashes and drift them threw the air, where they sprinkled down on Angeles, Keith watched them sadly.

"Goodbye little brother...you were like one to me...may your innocent soul find peace." He walked back inside, face taking on it's evil, cruel and cold expression again.

"Mother I am ready to battle Ryan. I'll be taking him to a confrontation with his past into my chambers right now." The darkness and insanity returned to Keith's face, as he lips twsited into a wicked grin. `Ryan watch now...watch as everything you thought you knew about yourself and your little identity is shattered.'
