The Oritto Academy-Ch. 4

June 23, ****

Terry sat under an oak tree in front of a lake in a different park in town. He liked to visit Keystone Park the most, but he decided not to try his luck again after the attack. Terry watched the small ripples in the water. It was ironic to him that he was being more introspective now. He'd spent more time thinking in two days than he has in his entire life. Then again, it made sense with all of the stuff that had happened to him. In the course of a week, he'd had an attempt on his life learned that his parents were different from everyone else, sunk into a depression, bought a motorcycle, met a really cool chick that could make weapons out of just about anything, got a talking computer, experienced virtual reality, made a lightsaber, graduated middle school, and disrespected his best friend. Overall, he could say his life was definitely not boring.

Terry put his hands behind his head and lay down on the grass. He looked out at the clouds floating in the air. Terry thought that it would be nice to be able to fly. One thing that he always dreamed about was to fly in the air like a bird. He'd taken airplane flights before, but he was sure that couldn't beat how a bird could glide in the air. Terry smiled slightly to himself as he continued to daydream about flight. A light, female voice said, "Nice to see you're in such a good mood." Terry jumped up and went to pull his handle out. Terry relaxed when he saw it was Lisa.

Lisa looked at Terry in puzzlement and said, "What the hell are you so jumpy about?"

Terry said, "You don't know."

Lisa replied quietly, "Come here." Terry walked over to Lisa. Lisa slapped Terry in the face. Terry reeled from the blow. Lisa pulled Terry to her and punched him in his side. Terry fell down to the ground. The teen moaned and held his side in pain. He still wasn't healed fully from the attack he went through yesterday. He figured that she had a right to take a piece out of his hide.

Lisa looked down at Terry and said quietly, "I didn't punch you that hard, did I?" A moan was the only answer she got. Lisa scrambled down to Terry and cried out, "I didn't mean to hit you that hard."

Terry croaked, "It's okay, I deserved that."

As soon as she was sure that Terry was going to be okay, Lisa yelled, "You asshole! I can't believe you've been acting like this. You barely said two words to me all week. You wouldn't return my calls! What's wrong with you?

Terry replied angrily, "What do you think is wrong with me? You pushed me away!"

Lisa sighed, "Only because I didn't think of you that way."

Terry replied quietly, "I'm sorry. I know now that how I was acting was wrong. Do you forgive me?"

Lisa sighed again, "I could never stay mad at you for long. I just hope you finally got it through your skull that we can't be more than friends."

"Fine." Terry had finally resigned himself to the fact that he couldn't be her boyfriend.

Lisa smiled, "Thanks. Now that we got that out of the way, what's been going on with you?"

Terry got up slowly, still holding his side. Lisa asked, "What's wrong, Terry?" Terry said, "I've got to tell you something."

"We're alone here."

Terry shook his head, "No, we need to go to my house."

Lisa looked at her friend with some concern, "Okay, we can go to your house right now." Terry grinned and said, "Good, let's go." The duo left the park, caught a local bus and reached Terry's house 30 minutes later. Both stood in front of Terry's house. Lisa asked, "What's the big deal? You didn't say much while we were on the bus. In fact, you kept on watching over our shoulders the whole time."

Terry sighed and replied, "Just thinking what your reaction is going to be when you find out all of this stuff."

"You're not in any kind of trouble, are you?"

Terry thought that she didn't know how close she was considering the fact that two dudes tried to kill him last week. Terry responded, "Let's just go inside. All will be revealed then."

Lisa motioned for him to open the front door. Terry opened the door and Lisa walked into the house. Terry took another look to see if there were any assassins looking for him. Satisfied that the street was quiet, Terry closed the door. A minute later, Agent H parked right in front of Lisa's house. The assassin remarked coldly, "Let the games begin."

Terry and Lisa were in Terry's room. Lisa saw the usual clutter in his room. Lisa was surprised to see a silver laptop computer sitting on the table. She wondered how he got a hold of a laptop. He had to bug his parents to give him the computer system he had. Lisa was starting to really worry about her friend. She had never seen him so anxious in her life. Something had to be bothering him.

Terry said, "Before we start, you have to promise me that you won't tell ANYONE about what you see and hear today."

Lisa replied, "What's going on?"

Terry hissed, "Promise me."

"I promise. Now start talking." Terry went over to his laptop and picked it up. The teen put it down between them.

Lisa remarked, "I was wondering where you got that laptop from. I didn't think your parents bought it for you."

Terry smiled, "You're right. I got it in the mail."

Lisa looked at Terry quizzically, "The mail? What kind of mail order program is giving out laptops?"

Terry said, "A good one. But first, I need to tell you more about the school I'm going to."

"I've heard The Oritto Academy is supposed to be an elite academic school."

"It is, but there's more to it than that."

"What?"

"Well, I should probably let my computer talk to you."

"What? Computers don't talk."

Terry opened the laptop and turned it on. Chikako said, "Missy, I disagree with that statement."

Lisa backed away from the computer screen. Lisa exclaimed, "What the hell?"

Terry smirked, "I'm disappointed in you. When Chikako talked to me, I screamed a four-letter word."

Lisa said, "How can you joke when a computer just talked to me?"

Terry shrugged, "It could be worse. Chikako, would you please tell her about the Oritto Academy?"

Chikako replied sweetly, "Certainly." Chikako proceeded to give Lisa the quick rundown on what the Oritto Academy stood for. This lecture went on for 30 minutes. At the end, Lisa sat back and shook her head in amazement.

Terry asked his friend, "Are you okay?"

Lisa said, "I'm fine. I always knew you were special, but this is too much."

Terry smirked, "I know. I can't believe it myself."

"And you have a talking computer, for god's sake!"

"Yep, ain't it great?"

"She didn't tell me what you could do exactly."

Terry pulled out his silver handle. He said, "Get back a bit." Lisa backed away from him. Terry closed his eyes and the light saber appeared in front of him.

Lisa whispered, "No way."

Terry smiled, "Way."

Lisa said, "So you can make a lightsaber? Anything else?"

Terry shrugged, "That's not enough for you. I can make a lightsaber for god's sake. I can feel power coursing through my veins. I don't know if I can do other stuff, but this is what's been established so far. Do you still want to go with me on August 1?"

"I have to see this place. So what else did you get besides Chikako?"

Terry then told her about the ULT, the card, and the VR visor. Lisa immediately wanted to use the card for a wasteful shopping spree. Terry squashed that idea and said, "Lisa, all of this stuff that I've gotten means that I have to watch out for stuff."

"What do you mean?"

Terry sighed and said, "I'll show you what I mean." Terry lifted his shirt up enough so she could see the scars the altercation he was in yesterday.

Lisa screeched, "What happened to you?"

Terry replied, "Two dudes in black three piece suits attacked me at Keystone Park yesterday."

"Why?"

"Because of my powers. The deal is that since I have special powers certain people are out to kill me."

"I don't understand."

"The name of this organization is the SDF, or Superhero Destruction Force. Their whole goal is to eliminate as many superheroes as they can."

"But you're not a superhero."

"No, but I have superhero ability inside me. That makes me a future threat to them. Of course, that probably makes me a danger to you as well."

"Because this SDF can go after me to get to you."

"Right."

Lisa groaned and remarked, "This is crazy. Now it makes sense why you were looking over you shoulder all the time. I don't know if I can handle this. My best friend is some kind of super being and people want to kill him. Do your parents know about all this?"

Terry replied sharply, "Of course they do. How do you think I got my powers in the first place?"

"What can your mom and dad do?"

"My dad can create chemical gases. Mom, I don't know how to describe her deal. I guess when angered or really distressed she goes into a berserker rage. It's not pretty."

"Wow. So let's go back to the wounds there. How are you still here talking to me?"

Terry then told her of how Lily saved him and took him to her hideaway in the city. He also told her about her ability to make weaponry out of anything. He decided not to mention the parts in the conversation when they talked about her or the flirting between he and Lily. After all, that wasn't important in the grand scheme of things. He had to tell her what was going on with him.

Lisa looked at her friend and said quietly, "Damn."

Terry replied, "That's an appropriate word, Lisa."

"So now what?"

Terry shrugged, "I don't know. We have a month until August gets here. Are you sure you still want to go with me to the Academy?"

Lisa smiled and said, "Yes, I want to see this place." Lisa looked at the clock in Terry's room. Lisa said fearfully, "Crap, I've got to get out of here. I promised I'd meet my mom to go shopping today, so I'll see you later okay?"

Terry grinned and replied, "Okay, I'll see you later." Lisa scrambled up and ran out of Terry's room. The grin faded as he remarked to Chikako, "That went easier than I thought."

Chikako replied softly, "Did you expect her to just toss you aside?"

Terry shrugged slightly, "Maybe. Finding out your friend can do crazy stuff like create a lightsaber could be upsetting."

Chikako said, "She's been your friend practically your whole life. I don't think this revelation would've ruined your friendship."

"Yeah, I was doing a good job of messing up our friendship by myself."

"Everything is okay now, Terry."

"You're right, I just worry."

"I know." Terry smiled and decided to get on the net and surf for a while. Terry sat down in front of Chikako and started to mess around on the Internet.

After a couple of hours, Terry rubbed his eyes in tiredness.

Chikako remarked, "I think it's time for you to get off the net, Terry."

Terry yawned and answered, "You're right, Chikako." Terry logged off of the Internet and walked away from Chikako. He went over to his dresser drawer and pulled out an old Hartford Whalers t-shirt and a worn pair of plaid pajama pants.

Chikako said wryly, "Nice sleepwear, Terry."

Terry stuck his tongue out at Chikako and answered, "Hey, I like my clothes."

Chikako replied with a slight bit of testiness, "C'mon, you've got to get a real pair of pajamas."

Terry smirked, "Are you checking me out or something?"

Chikako replied tartly, "You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if I was human."

Terry got some bad ideas in his head and shook his head to clear his mind of those images.

Chikako laughed, "See?"

Terry blushed and barked out, "Stop teasing me, Chikako."

Chikako snickered and replied, "I'm sorry, Terry."

Terry grumbled, "Damn right you're sorry."

As Chikako was about to respond to Terry, Terry's phone rang. Terry went over to the phone and picked it up.

Terry said, "Hello."

A deep male voice replied, "Is this the Norris residence?"

"Yes, this is the Norris residence. Who is this?"

"It doesn't matter what my name is. Is this Terry?"

Terry's stomach turned to ice as he asked, "Who the hell is this?"

The man replied, "My name is Agent H. I believe you ran into a couple of my associates yesterday."

Terry growled, "What do you want?"

Agent H's voice took on a tone of fake concern as he said, "All I want is for you, me, Lisa, and her mother to have a nice little meeting at the CC warehouse on Lindell Avenue."

Terry hissed, "What have you done with Lisa and Mrs. Moore?"

Agent H laughed and said, "They're fine for now. Isn't that right, Lisa?" A minute later, Lisa's voice came over the phone. Lisa screeched, "Help us, Terry!"

Terry yelled, "LISA!"

Agent H came back and growled, "She's okay and her mother isn't dead, at least not yet. You come to the CC warehouse in an hour or your little girlfriend and her mom are dead."

Terry angrily replied, "Why are you bringing them into this? You want me, you son of a bitch!"

Agent H laughed and responded coldly, "Do as I say, boy. Oh and if you bring any help along they'll die for sure."

"How do I know that? You're going to try and kill me anyway."

"TRY? I AM going to kill you. Then I'm going to have some fun with Lisa and her mom."

Terry gripped the handle on his phone in rage. Agent H needled Terry, "I can't hear you." Terry slammed the phone down. Meanwhile, in an old warehouse filled with boxes and machinery Agent H is standing in front of Lisa and Mrs. Moore. The two women were tied up in separate chairs.

Lisa had a black eye and her lip was swollen from the beating she took from Agent H. Her mother was in worse shape. Agent H hadn't killed her yet, but he really beat on her. Mrs. Moore's right eye was swollen shut and a couple of her teeth were knocked out and lying on the ground. Her blond hair was matted with blood from her beating. Mrs. Moore was unconscious a few feet away from Lisa.

Lisa growled, "You make me sick and Terry's going to hurt you!"

Agent H backhanded Lisa and hissed; "Shut up!"

Lisa whimpered a bit before shutting her mouth. She should've been prepared for something like this. Agent H was waiting for them in the parking lot of the mall with a gun after they finished shopping. No one was around to help them, so they had to do what he said.

Lisa was sore from all of the shots she took from this sick bastard. Her mom asked Agent H why they were being kidnapped. Agent H didn't like the questioning, so he beat her bloody and unconscious. She was sure that Terry was on his way to save them. She only hoped that he could save them from this freak.

Agent H smiled and said, "Finally, you showed some sense. Better than your mom, asking all those questions."

Lisa said waspishly, "What do you expect? You point a gun at us in a parking lot, for Christ's sake!"

Agent H answered testily, "She wouldn't stop talking on the way here. That's why I had to beat the crap out of her. At least you know when to shut your mouth. Then again, this isn't a surprise is it?"

Lisa hissed, "Terry told me about you people. I just didn't think about it."

Agent H shook his head, "Tsk, Tsk. You should always be vigilant. But that won't matter, because tonight all of you are going to die." Agent H barked out a short laugh and looked at Lisa's terrified face. Agent H smiled evilly as he prepared himself mentally for combat against Terry Norris. He knew that Norris would come with his group of bodyguards. But he had backup ready to take care of them. He figured that he'd just charge in blindly. He was going to kill him easily and keep his perfect record alive. He had completed 13 missions without any problems.

Terry had put on a pair of pants and shirt. Terry grabbed his saber handle and wristband. The teen said to Chikako, "Chikako, tell my agents to come with me to the CC warehouse. I'm sure that Agent H has people ready for them like the last two guys did but I can't do this alone. I want them to run interference."

Chikako answered, "Okay, what about your parents?"

Terry shook his head, "Weren't you paying attention? They came in here while I was on the Net to tell me that they were going to some music festival out of town."

Chikako replied sheepishly, "Oh."

Terry shrugged, "No problem. Could you get in touch with Lily's computer?"

"Yes, I can do that."

"Good, tell him to get in touch Lily and tell her to go to the CC warehouse." Terry grabbed a windbreaker and said, "Luckily, the bus system is still running so I can get there just in time."

Chikako remarked, "You do know that he's just drawing you out to kill you, right?"

Terry sighed, "I have no choice. I can't call the cops because this'll draw publicity to the Academy. My parents aren't here to help me. I can't let this guy kill off my friend and her mom." Terry squared his shoulders and said in a low and menacing voice, "I'm going to bring them back, Chikako. I swear it!"

Chikako sighed slightly and said, "Be careful."

"I will." Terry walked out of the door and out of the room.

Terry angrily yanked the chain for the bus to stop at the street. He wanted to catch a cab, but there wasn't a cab available. It had taken 35 minutes for the bus to get from the bus stop on his street to Lash Boulevard. He still had a couple of blocks to go to get to the CC warehouse.

The bus stopped and Terry jumped out of the back door of the bus. Terry looked to see if anyone was around. He saw that the street was deserted. Terry pulled out the handle and manifested the light saber. Terry pressed a small button on his wristband and said, "Chikako."

The computer replied, "Yes, Terry."

"Did you get in touch with Lily?"

"She's on her way."

Terry smiled and answered, "Good, can you patch me to the leader of my bodyguards or something?"

"Okay."

Terry started running down the street, lightsaber held tightly in his right hand. A million images were running through his head as he ran down the street. He saw Lisa lying on the ground in a pool of her blood. He saw Mrs. Moore looking at him with sightless eyes from death. Hell, he saw himself dying a horrible, bloody death. He hadn't even practiced with the lightsaber and he was going against a killer. He had to go face this man. No one was going to kill the people he loved if he couldn't help it.

A nervous male voice broke into Terry's thoughts. The voice said, "Mr. Norris, what do you require?"

Terry turned right and continued running, his heart beating faster in worry. He was 2 blocks away from the warehouse. Terry answered, "I'm sure Chikako told you the situation."

"Yes."

"I want you guys to be right behind me when I get to the warehouse." Terry gasped and continued, "I've got 15 minutes left."

The man replied, "Sir, we can't draw attention to ourselves."

Terry asked, "How old are you?"

"19, sir."

"You just got out of the Academy, didn't you?"

The man answered in surprise, "How did you know?"

Terry answered wryly, "A wild guess. I bet you followed every single rule to the exact letter."

"Yes, I did."

"It's time for you to break the rules."

"But, sir. This is a rash plan. We need to think this through."

Terry kept running down the dank and run-down streets. He had only visited this part of town once with his father and he never wanted to go back. Terry turned to his left and continued his race. The teen gasped angrily, "Do you have a better idea?"

"Not off the top of my head."

Exasperated, Terry snarled, "You and your colleagues run interference for me. We're on the crappy side of town anyway. People here don't ask questions. Until you think of a better plan, do your damn job and protect me! Got it?"

"Yes, sir." Terry turned off the wristband and took another turn. The teen saw the CC warehouse was only 30 feet away.

Terry ran up to the CC warehouse and looked at his wristband. The watch on the band told him that he had 8 minutes to spare in the time limit set by Agent H. Terry shook his head as he took a closer look at the warehouse. It was the stereotypical bad guy's hideout. The CC warehouse was a white block structure. The building was old and decrepit with the letters CC on the front in black letters. He always thought that some criminals should be different and kidnap someone in a relatively normal place. He knew it would defeat the purpose of kidnapping, but life would be easier for him if somebody did that.

Terry caught his breath and let his heart calm down. Terry heard a small sound behind him. Terry whirled around, lightsaber at the ready. Terry saw about 100 people of all shapes, sizes, and sexes standing behind him. They were wearing red armor-plated storm trooper suits. Black metal helmets with a red sight visor like Robocop protected their heads. A silver backpack was strapped on their backs. Terry saw that everyone was armed with laser rifles.

Terry looked at the group and said, "Who's the leader here?"

A tall, wiry man stepped forward. He was definitely the tallest man in the group.

Terry asked, "What's your name?"

The man replied, "My name is Ryan."

A ghost of a smile appeared on Terry's face as he replied, "Hi, Ryan. Now that you've had some time, do you have a better idea?" Terry looked at his wristband and remarked, "We have 5 minutes left."

Ryan replied calmer than he felt, "We can throw some knockout gas into the warehouse through those windows there and get them out that way. Agent H will be out cold."

Terry gave Ryan a bigger smile as he said, "Good thinking. I assume you have the gas in that backpack there."

Ryan replied, "Yes, we all carry various weapons in these backpacks." Ryan shrugged off the backpack and opened it up. Ryan rummaged through the knives, guns, and other miscellaneous items to find two grenades of knockout gas. Ryan smiled and looked back up to Terry. Terry motioned to Ryan and the two went toward the windows, with the other bodyguards followed behind the two.

Inside, Agent H smirked and said to Lisa, "Your boyfriend's here."

Lisa, who was now beaten black and blue replied softly, "How do you know?"

"I can sense him and his friends. I have some skills too, you know." Agent H sighed and pulled out a cell phone. Agent H said, "Get over here now."

Lisa asked, "Who are you calling?"

"Reinforcements that happened to be nearby. Oh, they should be here right about..." A yell burst in the air from the outside and the sound of laser fire followed the yell. Agent H smirked and said, "Damn, I'm good." Lisa glowered at the SDF agent. She prayed that Terry would be able to save them.

All hell broke loose outside. As Ryan and Terry went to the windows, two huge black vans scooted in front them. 200 men and women in black three-piece suits jumped out of the vans and started attacking with rifles of their own. Terry yelled as Ryan dropped his rifle, picked up Terry and him over the vans to the window. Three blasts of laser fire caught Ryan in the chest. In the air, Terry bellowed, "NO!" as Ryan fell to the ground with three black marks on his chest. Terry turned in the air and saw that he was coming toward the window rapidly. Terry closed his eyes and braced himself as much as he could.

Agent H calmly watched as Terry crashed through the window into a pile of boxes. Terry dropped the lightsaber on the ground. After a bit, Terry groaned and stumbled to his feet. Agent H ran over to Terry and backhanded him in the face. Terry fell to the floor. Lisa screamed, "TERRY!" Terry stumbled over to his lightsaber and blindly slashed at Agent H. Agent H dodged the wild swing and kicked Terry in the ribs. Terry doubled over in pain as Agent H picked him up by the neck and threw him into another pile of boxes. Terry moaned as he slammed into the boxes. Agent H went over to Terry and punished Terry with vicious body blows. Terry grunted in pain as Agent H finished the assault with a backhand to the face. Terry was almost out cold as Agent H kicked him in the ribs with the point of his shoe. Terry spat out some blood as Agent H gave him another vicious kick to the ribcage. Terry crumpled to the floor as Agent H punched him in the face with another big right hand. Terry was almost out cold as Agent H turned his back on him and went over to Lisa.

Lisa yelled, "Stay away from me!"

Agent H slapped Lisa and snarled; "Shut the hell up!"

Mrs. Moore's blue eyes slowly opened and she saw Terry lying on the ground in a world of hurt with blood coming out of his mouth. She had no idea why he was here in the first place.

Agent H turned and remarked, "Good, you're awake."

Mrs. Moore growled, "You keep your hands off me, you wretch." Agent H slapped Mrs. Moore again and said, "You can shut the hell up too."

Mrs. Moore hissed, "You won't get away with this."

Agent H laughed, "Who's going to stop me? You can't and your savior over there can't do it."

Mrs. Moore questioned, "Terry?"

"That's right. You see, he's the reason I took you two in the first place. I'm supposed to kill him and I was looking forward to a real challenge. But he couldn't even lay a hand on me."

Mrs. Moore was confused and asked, "Why?"

Agent H backhanded Mrs. Moore and said, "That's all the answers you're going to get from me. Ask your daughter."

Lisa's head rolled in pain as Agent H pulled out a silver sai from his coat. (A/N: Think Raphael's weapon from TMNT. God I can't believe I couldn't think of a better ex than that.) Agent H put the dagger on Lisa's neck and turned to Terry. Agent H called out, "Hey, loverboy. I'm going to cut your girlfriend's throat. Do something about it."

Terry slowly turned his head to look at Agent H. He could barely focus his eyes as he blindly crawled over to his lightsaber. Agent H took the dagger off Lisa's neck and lightly cut Lisa in her right arm with the sai. Lisa screamed and Terry yelled, "LEAVE HER ALONE!"

Agent H methodically slashed Lisa in her other arm. Tears of pain came from Lisa as Agent H lightly slashed Lisa's right cheek with the sai. Terry slowly got to his feet with the lightsaber in hand.

Agent H twirled his sai lightly and slashed Lisa in the other cheek. Terry saw this and screamed in rage. He felt himself changing. Terry growled and shook as he closed his eyes. Terry yelled, "WHAT"S HAPPENING TO ME!" Terry's eyes suddenly turned from blue to light blue. His hair changed from black to white and his body grew to a solid 5'10 with a sinewy build. Terry's clothes morphed into a blood-red robe. Terry said in a deep voice, "You will die, for I am the true power inside of this vessel. My name is Desu."

Agent H turned away from Lisa and remarked calmly, "Desu, huh? Now we're talking." Agent H smirked and charged at Terry/Desu.

Lisa and her mother both looked at the transformation in shock. Mrs. Moore asked, "What the hell is going on here?"

Lisa coughed and answered, "Your guess is as good as mine, Mom."

Desu blocked a slash from Agent H and with unworldly speed countered with a slash to Agent's H side. Agent H dropped the sai and grunted in pain. Desu dispassionately slashed Agent H in the stomach. Agent H fell to his knees and clutched his stomach. Desu twirled the lightsaber and sliced Agent H's head off. Mrs. Moore screamed in shock and Lisa watched Desu in a catatonic state.

Desu's eyes flashed in contentment as he looked upon the bloody corpse of Agent H. He knew that he had blood on him, but that was to be expected. Desu needed more death and blood though. He craved it. He wanted to break through when Terry fought all the time in school. Desu growled and went over to Lisa with bad intentions in mind.

Lisa's lip quivered as Desu walked over to her with blood all over his robe and face. He had a big smile on his face. Desu cut the rope binding Lisa and Lisa got out of the chair and tried to run away immediately. However, the pounding she took from Agent H made her too weak to get very far. Lisa managed to stumble a bit away from Desu before falling to the floor in a heap. Mrs. Moore screamed as Desu placidly walked over to Lisa and raised the lightsaber in the air. Lisa closed her eyes, knowing that the end was near. Lisa heard a crash and opened her eyes. She saw that the lightsaber was out of Desu's hand and some woman burst into the warehouse on a motorcycle holding an energy pistol.

The woman was wearing a black helmet and a leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders. She was wearing a red sports bra-like top and blue jeans. The woman was about 5"8 with a athletic frame. Lisa watched as the woman stopped the motorcycle and tried to shoot Desu with the pistol. Desu jumped to Lily and knocked it out of her hand. Desu slapped Lily in the face. Lily fell of the motorcycle. Desu went to pick Lily up, but Lily kicked Desu in the groin. Desu moaned and clutched his nether regions as he fell to the floor. Lily got up and grabbed the pistol. Lily started to pull the trigger when Lisa yelled, "NO! That's Terry!"

Lily said, "What?"

Lisa replied, "That's right. Terry transformed into this guy."

Lily remarked, "What the hell am I supposed to do then?"

Lisa growled, "I don't know. Do something!"

Lily shrugged and decided to blast Desu in the leg to slow him down. Desu dodged the laser blast and tackled Lily. Lily hissed as the breath rushed out of her. Desu punched Lily in the face and hissed, "I like you."

Lily moaned as the punch almost knocked her out. Lily couldn't overpower him, so she figured she had one last recourse. Lily managed to shake the cobwebs out of her head and purred, "You know, you're sexy as hell."

Desu got off of Lily and preened, "Damn right, wench."

Lily continued in her sex-kitten voice, "In fact, why don't you kiss me right now? I WANT you to ravish me, right here, right now."

Desu immediately embraced Lily and kissed her passionately. As the two kissed, a red light enveloped Desu and he started changing back into Terry.

Lisa asked Lily, "Did you know that was going to happen?"

Lisa shrugged and replied, "No, I was going to keep to keep him occupied while you knocked him out from behind."

Lisa remarked, "Nice plan."

Lily smiled, "Yes, it was a good plan."

Lily pulled away from the embrace as Terry opened his eyes.

Lily smiled and said, "Hi, Terry."

Terry saw the bloody body of Agent H and the battered forms of Lisa and Mrs. Moore. The teen asked quietly, "What happened?"

Lily said, "It's a long story, Terry."

Terry looked at himself and saw that he had blood all over his shirt. Terry looked at his hands and saw that they were colored blood red. Terry whirled to his feet and screamed in anguish. He knew he killed someone somehow and he didn't like that one bit. He wanted to somehow stop Agent H without killing him.

Lily got to her feet and slapped Terry. Lily growled, "Stop that right now!"

Lisa got to her feet and ran up to Lily. Lisa screeched, "Who do you think you are?"

Lily tartly answered, "The woman that saved you and your mother, Lisa Moore. Now stand back and shut up!" Lisa backed away from Lily.

Terry held his cheek in shock. Lily continued in a gentler tone, "I'm sorry, Terry. But I needed to slap you to get your attention. We need to get out of here."

Terry asked, "What happened to my bodyguards?"

Lily shook her head sadly, "When I got here, bodies were all over the place from both sides. I don't know if any of them survived."

Terry felt a deep sadness come over him. Terry turned to Lisa and saw the blood running down her cheeks and arms. Terry looked at Lisa worriedly and asked, "Are you okay?"

Lisa nodded. Terry looked at Mrs. Moore with worry as well. Terry asked quietly, "Are you okay, Mrs. Moore?"

Mrs. Moore spat out, "I'm as good as I can be with all of this stuff going on. Would someone untie ME now?" Lisa went over to her mother and untied her. Mrs. Moore looked at Terry and hissed, "You stay away from my daughter."

Terry's stomach twisted in knots as he pleaded, "Mrs. Moore, don't do that to me. She's my best friend."

Mrs. Moore looked at Terry with scorn and said, "After what happened tonight, I can't trust you to be with my daughter anymore. She won't be going with you on that trip either."

Lisa yelled, "MOM!" She wanted to help her best friend. She knew that he was hurting inside and she didn't want that.

Mrs. Moore growled, "Don't you raise your voice at me, young lady! He's a freak and a dangerous one at that. Who knows when that person will come back out of him?"

Lily took umbrage and cried out, "Take that freak comment back!"

"I will not, Miss?"

Lily replied heatedly, "My name is Lily, Mrs. Moore. Terry isn't a freak, he's been gifted with extraordinary powers that can be used for good."

Mrs. Moore scoffed, "What so good about turning into some maniac?"

Terry asked, "What are you talking about?"

Mrs. Moore laughed bitterly and responded, "You turned into a guy named Desu. You killed that horrible man by chopping his head off and tried to kill my daughter. Then Lily showed up and stopped Desu from killing my baby. Thank you for saving our lives, Lily."

Lily replied, "You're welcome."

Mrs. Moore growled, "My daughter isn't going to put in danger like this ever again. Because of you, that man kidnapped us in the first place. We're leaving right now." Mrs. Moore got out of her chair and tried to walk, but she fainted and fell to the floor.

Lily sighed and said, "We have to get both of you to a hospital."

Lisa said, "Okay, let's get out of here." Lily pulled out a cell phone and called for a car to come pick up Lisa and her mother. Lily went over to Mrs. Moore and picked her up. Lily put Mrs. Moore over her shoulder. The quartet got out of the warehouse and waited at the entrance. 20 minutes later, a black sedan stopped in front of the entrance. Lily gently put Mrs. Moore in the backseat of the car. Lisa tiredly got in the front seat with the driver. She felt sore all over her body and the wounds she sustained were bleeding at a steady clip. Lily said to the driver, "Take them to our nearest hospital fast"

Lily turned to Lisa and said quietly, "He's going to take you one of our hospitals out of town. You tell your mom not to say anything about what happened tonight, okay?"

Lisa nodded and closed the door. The car drove off. Terry looked at all of the bodies strewn at the entrance in shock. He saw Ryan lying on the ground and went over to him. Terry took off his helmet and closed Ryan's brown eyes. He knew that this man finally broke the rules getting him to safety. For that, he paid with his life and that saddened him greatly. Terry walked back to Lily and said tiredly, "Are you going to talk to my parents?"

Lily answered softly, "Yes, I'll talk to them."

Terry said quietly, "I don't want to go home, Lily."

Lily replied, "You weren't going to go home, Terry. I wasn't going to let you go anywhere by yourself."

Terry sighed and remarked, "Let's go to your place, okay?"

Lily said, "Go ahead and cry."

Terry shook his head, "No, I'm not going to cry here. I'll cry when we get to your place."

"Fine, I should've asked you, are you okay?"

"I'll live. But I REALLY want to go now."

Lily went back inside and got on her motorcycle. Lily parked next to Terry. Terry slowly got on the bike and held onto Lily's waist. Terry laid his head on her shoulder. As Lily zoomed off, she felt dampness on her shoulder. Lily was saddened because she knew that Terry's innocence died this night. It was never easy to grow up, especially before you were ready.

End Ch. 4

Author's Notes

The Desu thing and Lily stopping Desu by kissing him was inspired by the anime series Ayashi No Ceres. In the story, the main female character Aya lives the life of a normal high school student. On her 16th birthday, her own family tries to kill her and imprisons her twin brother Aki. Aya later finds out that she possesses the blood of the "tennyo" (heavenly maiden), and when severely shaken she will transform into Ceres. If left to live, she is destined to bring ruin upon the Mikage family. One of the characters in the story, Yuuhi is assigned to protect Aya. Yuuhi always turns Ceres back into Aya by kissing her.

I didn't think about the Desu thing until about a week ago. Desu means Death in Japanese. This chapter did what I wanted in bringing pain and anguish to Terry.
