Oritto Academy-Ch. 5

June 23, **** (Night)

/Dream Sequence/

The sun shone brightly as fat clouds floated in the sky. A little red-haired girl laid on her back in a field watching the clouds float in the air. The little girl was wearing a yellow sundress with a matching hat on her head. The girl enjoyed being outside. Mommy and Daddy kept her inside a lot. They told her that bad men would take her away if they let her run around with other kids. But Lillian Masters never quite understood what the big deal was. She liked to tinker with things. Her mom acted like her Barbie radio shouldn't be able to get radio stations in Japan. So what if they lived in California. A light female voice called Lillian Masters. Lillian turned around and saw her mommy. Mrs. Masters (tall, slim, attired in a white t-shirt and blue jeans) said, "Come here, Lillian."

Lillian ran to her mom and hugged her knees. Mrs. Masters smiled and said, "Time to have some tea, Lillian." Lillian smiled brightly and held her mom's hand. The two went off to have a peaceful lunch.

A twelve-year old Lillian Masters watched stone-faced as her mother was lowered into the ground. Lillian knew that her mom died because of her gift. The SDF killed her mom with a car bomb after she refused to let them take her away to "study" with them. Lillian turned to look at her father. Mark Masters's slim body looked gaunt and his blue eyes were sunken in fatigue. Lillian hated to see the pain in her dad's blue eyes. Lillian turned back and clenched her fists, promising to get revenge on the SDF.

A fifteen-year-old Lillian groaned as a tall man in a black suit backhanded her in the face. Lillian was chained on a wall, spread-eagle with her t-shirt and pants tattered. Blood poured from her cuts on her forehead. The man spat on her and snarled, "You still resist, huh?" Lillian didn't respond as the man punched her in the stomach. Lillian threw up on the man's polished black shoes. Lillian was almost out cold as the man smirked and whispered, "You're going to be of use to me if not the cause." Lillian cringed as the man threw off his coat and pulled off his tie roughly. The man pulled out a hankerchief and cleaned up Lillian's forehead before leaning in to kiss her. Just before the man's lips touched Lillian, Lily woke up in a sweat.

Lily groaned and got out of her bed. Lily picked up a glass off her dresser and went into her bathroom. Lily put some water into the glass and gulped the contents in one shot. Lily looked at her reflection in the mirror. A weary, tired face stared back at her. Lily grabbed the glass and threw it into the mirror. Lily was slightly mollified as shards of glass fell to the floor. She wished that she could do that to the SDF.

Lily walked out of the bathroom, stepping over the pieces of glasses. Lily's thought about the nightmare she had. She remembered getting taken by the SDF 2 years ago. The problem was that she couldn't remember what happened to her between then and when her friend rescued her a few days later. She needed to know for her own peace of mind. Lily sighed and her thoughts turned toward Terry. She felt his tears on her shoulder when they left the warehouse tonight. The damn SDF took his innocence away, even if he didn't technically kill that agent. Lily decided to go check on Terry to see how he was doing. Lily put on a robe and exited the room.

Terry twisted and turned in his bed. In his dreams, he saw Ryan taking three laser blasts in the chest, Agent H beating him up in their fight, his transformation in Desu, Desu killing Agent H and Mrs. Moore telling him to stay away from Lisa. Terry woke up and screamed, "NO!"

Lily stepped into the room and immediately ran over to Terry. Lily hugged Terry and Terry cried in her arms. After Terry composed himself and pushed himself away from her embrace, Lily asked softly, "Do you want to talk about it?"

Terry answered, "Does dealing with death get any easier?"

Lily replied, "Death is something we all have to deal with in our lives. It's never easy. I just hope that you won't have to deal with it as much as I have in my life."

Terry asked, "What do you mean?"

Lily whispered, "I lost my parents to the SDF, Terry." Lily's voice rose in intensity, "Those bastards killed my mom and dad. They blew my mom up with a car bomb and my dad died of a broken heart after mom died. DAMN THEM!"

Terry could see that Lily was upset. Lily continued, "My dad gave me this nickname. My full name is Lillian Grace Masters. Dad always told me that I was a lily that could brighten any room." Lily snorted, "I don't know if I'm bright like that anymore, Terry."

Terry said, "Lily, I haven't known you for very long but I do know that you haven't lost your spirit. If it wasn't for your spirit, Desu would have killed Mrs. Moore, Lisa, and you."

Lily smiled, "Thank you, Terry. Lisa's lucky to have you in her life."

Terry winced, "You had to remind me of that. Mrs. Norris kicked me out of Lisa's life."

Lily smiled, "I'm not going to let Mrs. Moore push you two away like that."

"I can't blame her though. You told me all about what Desu did tonight. How can I stop him from coming out again and killing Lisa? Hell, he can kill anybody. I had no idea that he was a part of me."

Lily remarked, "I'll do all I can to help you. Maybe your parents know something about this."

Terry snorted, "They probably do, but they were afraid to tell me about this. Just like how they didn't tell me about the fact that I had powers in the first place."

Lily sighed and said, "We both need to get some rest. Are you okay now?"

Terry answered, "I'll be okay. You?"

Lily replied, "I'll be good."

Terry smiled, "That's good. I'm looking forward to seeing your smiling face tomorrow."

Lily grinned, "You're a little charmer, aren't you?"

Terry just smirked as Lily patted Terry on the back. Lily got up and walked back to her room. Terry closed his eyes and slept without nightmares for the rest of the night.

June 24, **** (9:00 A.M.)

Sunlight streamed through a window onto the sleeping face of Terry Norris. Terry yawned and opened his eyes slowly. Terry groaned and stretched a bit in the bed. Terry stumbled out of bed and went to the bathroom. The teen took a quick shower and brushed his teeth. Lily thoughtfully had a toothbrush for him in the room. Terry walked out of the bathroom, towel around his waist and saw an oversized New York Mets baseball jersey, a set of black boxers and a pair of baggy pants. Terry shrugged and put on the gear. Strangely enough, the clothes fit him very well.

Terry exited the room and went down the hall. Terry stepped into the living room and saw Lily sitting on the couch drinking a glass of orange juice and reading the paper.

Terry sat down in a chair a bit away from her and said, "Hey there."

Without looking up, Lily replied, "Hey yourself."

Terry asked, "Did you get those clothes for me?"

"Yeah, I figured you wouldn't want to wear the same clothes you had on last night."

"When did you get them?"

Lily shrugged, "I got them a couple of hours ago. I'm usually up at 6:00 a.m. to do my exercises."

Terry's curiosity was sparked a bit. He wanted to know what Lily did to keep herself in top shape. The teen asked, "What kind of exercises?"

"I usually jog, lift weights, push ups, that type of thing in the morning."

"What about in the afternoon?"

Lily smiled slightly, "Can't tell you about that, Terry. You're not ready for those."

"What are you talking about?"

Lily answered, "Like I said, you're not ready for that type of training yet."

Terry's curiosity was really peaked now, "Would these exercises be considered dangerous?"

Lily smirked, "Probably to the average person, but not for me."

Terry was starting to get frustrated, "Would they help me get tougher?"

Lily could see Terry's veneer start to crack, so she stopped being coy and replied, "Yes, they would. I know why you want to do this."

Terry grumbled, "Damn right. I lost it last night and I want to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I also want to protect Lisa and Mrs. Moore from any more attacks by the SDF."

Lily smiled and said, "Good. I've got an idea for you."

Terry motioned for Lily to continue. The junior continued, "Here's the deal. You stay with me for a couple of weeks. We'll work on making you tougher and to find a way to control Desu. Do you agree?"

Terry snorted, "Of course I do. We need to ask my parents though." Terry smacked his hand on his head. Terry said, "I need to call them and tell them I'm okay."

Lily answered, "I did it for you, Terry. I had your parent's phone number on my computer and I told them that you were okay."

Terry exhaled, "Whew. That's taken care of. I'd like to visit Lisa and Mrs. Moore soon."

Lily smiled, "We will." Lily got to her feet and went into the kitchen. Lily grabbed a box of Fruity Pebbles, a carton of milk, a spoon and a bowl. Lily made a bowl of the cereal for Terry and went over to him. Lily handed him the bowl and told the teen, "Eat this and then we'll go to the hospital." Terry ate quickly and the duo exited the living room and the hideout. Lily pressed a button on the wall outside and her motorcycle appeared. Lily and Terry got on the bike. Lily hit the throttle and the bike sped off to the hospital.

Lily and Terry passed through the back streets of the city. Terry tried to remember what route they were on, but he couldn't keep up with everything. Terry figured that this would be a good thing since the SDF wouldn't be able to pin them easily. Terry just hoped that he would be able to still be friends with Lisa. Lily's thoughts were in the same vein as Terry's. She didn't want him to be alone in the world. She would be there for him as much as possible, but Terry needed to be with someone his own age.

Lily skidded a bit and stopped the bike inches from a brown brick wall. Terry took off the helmet and glared at Lily. Terry snapped, "What the hell are you doing?"

Lily got off the bike and grinned, "Just stopping the bike, Terry."

Terry jumped off the bike and grumbled, "Stopping my ass. You played Crazy Taxi a lot, didn't you?"

Lily smirked, "Gena was the best driver."

"Like hell, Axel was the best all-around driver."

Lily continued, "Gena was faster than everybody."

Terry retorted, "Yeah, but one hit and she was sliding all over the place."

Lily shook her head; "We can continue this discussion another time. Are you ready?"

Terry straightened up and said quietly, "Let's go." Lily walked up to the wall and put her hand in the middle of the wall. Electronic beeps floated in the air before the wall gave way to an entrance. Lily walked in and Terry followed her. Lily put her hand on a white box and the door shut behind them. Lily motioned for Terry to follow her. Lily and Terry walked down a hallway. Terry looked around and saw how sterile everything was. The whole hallway was nothing but white. The chairs in the rooms they passed were white; the television sets were white, the desks were white. Terry's eyes hurt as he looked upon the sea of white.

The two finally stopped in front of two tall muscular men in the same suits that Terry's bodyguards wore. Terry looked at the unsmiling men and waved. Both men didn't respond. Lily said quietly, "We're here to see the patients."

One guard said, "What's the password?"

Lily motioned for the man to bend over. He did and Lily whispered something fiercely in his air. The man nodded at his partner. The two backed away from the door. Lily opened the door and the two stepped inside.

Lisa and Mrs. Moore were lying in beds side by side. Both were watching a news program in the room and didn't see the two standing there. Terry cleared his throat and the Moores turned their attention to Terry and Lily.

Mrs. Moore's face darkened in rage as she sputtered, "Get out of here, you freak!"

Terry looked at Mrs. Moore with a pained look on his face. Lily hissed, "I can't believe you said that to him."

Mrs. Moore spat out, "It's the truth. He's a freak with some crazy demon inside of him."

Lisa cried out in anguish, "Stop it, Mom!"

"I will not, young lady. He almost got us killed last night with his escapades."

Lily barked, "Mrs. Moore, shut up now!"

Mrs. Moore snarled, "Who do you think you are?"

Lily answered sharply, "The woman who helped save your lives. You're not going to sit here in our hospital and spew out that garbage."

Mrs. Moore pointed at Terry, "You stay away from my daughter. In fact, tell your mom and dad not to bother coming over anymore."

Tears threatened to come out of Terry's eyes. He figured that Mrs. Moore would say something about that, but it still hurt his feelings. He had no idea that this person was inside of him.

Terry cried out to Mrs. Moore, "Do you think I wanted this to happen? I had no idea I had some death demon in me. Dammit, I killed somebody."

Lily put her hand on Terry's shoulders and whispered, "You didn't do it, Terry. Desu did it"

Terry slapped her hand away, "He did it by my hands. Even if I wasn't in control, Desu still lives inside of me. Which means that I had a hand in killing him."

Lily said, "Terry, you had no choice. Agent H was going to kill Lisa and Mrs. Moore."

Terry snapped, "Desu could've killed you too, Lily."

Lily answered, "I'm still here."

Mrs. Moore grumbled, "The doctor told us that we had to stay in this god awful place for 3 weeks to heal our injuries. You can at least get some people to transport us to a local hospital or something."

Lily replied, "That can't be done, Mrs. Moore. You're here for your protection. If we let you go now, the SDF will be sure to make another attempt on your lives. Do you really want to endanger more lives than your own? That's what's going to happen if you go to a public hospital."

Lisa chimed in softly, "Why do you say that?"

"Since we saved you and stopped them from killing Terry, the SDF have lost some momentum in their efforts to exterminate the future heroes of this world. If we let you leave, the SDF would have to do something big to regain their edge. Hence, they'd send a bigger force to kill you and most likely anyone else that happened to be there."

Terry gasped, "That's just sick."

Lily sighed, "Nobody said the SDF was very forgiving."

Mrs. Moore said quietly, "Fine, we'll stay. But I still want him to stay away from my daughter."

Lisa yelled, "Mom, stop it! Terry's my friend and it would be wrong for you or I to break off our friendship. He needs me in his life."

Mrs. Moore spat, "He has this Lily woman to help him out now."

Lisa snarled, "Mother, I'm still going to be his friend no matter what you want!"

Lily tried to get a word in edgewise, but at this point mother and daughter started arguing. Terry sighed and whispered in Lily's ear, "Let's go. Do you have the phone number to this room?"

"I do, but with her mother in this room there's no way Lisa is going to be able to talk with her."

Terry groaned and decided to yell, "We're leaving now. I'm glad that both of you are okay. Have a good day." Lisa stopped arguing and smiled at Terry. Mrs. Moore scowled at the two. Terry and Lily got out of the room. The duo walked back down the hallway and exited the hospital. Lily put on her helmet and said, "I'm sorry. I tried to talk to Mrs. Moore and she wasn't buying."

Terry remarked, "I know. I hope that Lisa will work her mom over."

Lily asked, "Where to now?"

Terry answered, "Let's go to my house." Lily and Terry got on her bike and drove off to Terry's home.

12:30 p.m.

Lily and Terry parked in front of Terry's home. Both got off the bike. Terry looked at Lisa's house and sighed before turning back to Lily. Lily replied quietly, "Let's go." Terry and Lily walked up to the door. Terry opened the door and let Lily go in first. Lily entered and saw Mr. and Mrs. Norris in the living room watching television.

Mrs. Norris smiled and said, "Welcome to our home, Lily."

Lily sat down in a chair, "Thank you, Mrs. Norris."

Mrs. Norris replied, "Thank you for bringing my son back safe and sound."

Terry stepped in behind Lily and Mr. Norris jumped to his feet. Mr. Norris gave Terry a huge bear hug. Terry squirmed a bit before saying, "I'm glad I'm here too, Dad. I need air."

Mr. Norris released his son and said, "Sorry, son. We were just so worried about you until Lily called us."

Terry smiled weakly and sat down next to Lily. Terry asked his parents, "Mom, Dad. I need to go away with Lily for two weeks, I suppose." Lily nodded in affirmation as Mrs. Norris replied, "I think that would be a good idea."

Terry was getting a bit tired of not knowing things, so he decided to ask, "How long have you known that this demon was inside me?"

Mr. Norris answered, "For a couple of years. The thing was that the demon hadn't broke out until this happened."

Terry held his temper in, "Is there anything else I should know?"

Mrs. Norris sighed and got to her feet. Mrs. Norris went over to a table and picked up an envelope. The mother handed it to her son and said fiercely, "Don't read that until you're with Lily and destroy it afterwards. I want you to promise me that you'll do what the letter says, no matter what you might think."

Terry was getting worried, "Are you dying, Mom?"

Mrs. Norris snapped, "No, I'm not dying and your father isn't dying either. This is for your future son."

Terry said softly, "I'll do it."

Mr. Norris grinned, "Good, now I'm sure you have get packed up." Terry knew something was up with his parents, but he couldn't figure out what it is was. Terry got off the couch and Lily got up as well. The two went upstairs to Terry's room. Denise Norris sighed and looked at her husband. Denise said, "I wish he didn't have to do this."

Charles Norris said, "I did too, honey."

Terry had packed up Chikako, some CD's and clothes and stuffed them into his huge black backpack. Terry said, "I don't like this."

Lily said, "I don't either, but we won't know anything until we get back to my place." Terry shouldered his backpack and walked out of his room with Lily. Terry hugged his mother and father before leaving his home.

Lily and Terry got on the bike, put on their helmets and zoomed off, both unknowing of that their lives were going to change even more.

End Ch. 5

Author's Notes

I hate Writer's Block. I'm still stuck on some things ahead in this series but at least I have a idea of what's going to happen in the near future until Terry gets to the Oritto Academy. Both Terry and Lily will be going on separate journeys to deal with their problems. I'll somehow have Lisa involved. I didn't want to give up on this series because I think that this is some of the best writing I've done.

The main problem I had with this chapter was with Lily's dream sequence in the beginning. It's pretty simple now, but I couldn't translate that to paper. The end with Terry's parents giving him a letter was something I thought up as I typed this. In the next chapter, Lily and Terry will train (I'll have to break out a lightsaber battle in there) and the letter deal will be gone over in flashback form again. That's all I've thought of for now.

I wish you all,

Peace, love, and hair grease
