The Oritto Academy-Ch. 6
July 2, ****
Terry Norris gasped as he flopped onto Lily's living room couch. Terry groaned as every muscle in his body ached from the jogging and push-ups that he did with her this morning. Lily jogged into the room behind Terry with a slight twinkle in her eyes. The junior Oritto Academy student was sweaty, but she wasn't even breathing hard.
Lily ruffled Terry's hair and said teasingly, "Poor Terry needs to rest."
Terry groaned, "If I didn't hurt so much right now, I'd make you take those words back."
Lily cooed, "Promises, promises."
Terry glared at Lily and remarked, "You're in a good mood."
Lily grinned, "Oh, I'm in a good mood because you and I are going to have some fun this afternoon."
Terry's eyebrow rose, "Should I be worried?"
Lily replied, "I wouldn't hurt you. Much anyway."
Terry drawled, "Thanks."
Lily shrugged, "You wanted to become stronger, Terry. Being in peak performance is a must. Besides, this is nothing compared to what the teachers put you through in the Academy."
"Goody."
Lily laughed and got out of her chair. The older teen stated, "Rest up and I'll see you at 2 p.m." Lily walked out of the room. Terry closed his eyes and thought about the information in the letter he had received last week. He sighed and wondered if his life was going to get even more twisted.
Flashback
June 24, ****
Terry and Lily walked into Lily's living room. Terry threw down his bag on the floor and looked at the letter packed into the bag. Terry picked up the letter and held it in his hands. Terry looked at it with some uncertainty.
Lily looked at Terry and asked, "What are you waiting for?"
Terry said, "I'm just nervous about opening this thing."
Lily pointed out, "You are holding the letter right now and you're not being infected or something. Just open it already."
Terry opened the letter and it read.
Dear Terry,
My name is Jean-Luc Norris and I'm your uncle. I live in Paris, France along with other relatives of ours that know about your power. I have some important information about your power that needs to be shared. I know that you don't quite understand why I haven't contacted you or your parents, but I need you to come to Paris on July 14th. Enclosed in this envelope are two first-class tickets to Paris. You can even invite a friend to come along with you.
Please come to Paris. I will have someone waiting for you at the airport.
Thank you for your time,
Jean-Luc Norris.
Terry looked at the letter again and said sarcastically, "This is peachy."
Lily asked, "What's peachy?"
Terry answered, "This whole situation. I get an uncle writing me from out of nowhere telling me that he has information about my power. Mr. Jean-Luc Norris wants a friend and I to get on a plane and go to Paris, France on the 14th. I have a bad feeling about this."
Lily replied, "It does sound weird, but your parents did say to do what the letter said. I'd go with that suggestion. Besides, if anything happens you have your weapon from the Academy and the bodyguards."
Terry sighed, "Fine, but am I supposed to bring somebody with me?"
Lily responded, "I wouldn't mind going with you. I've never been to Paris before."
Terry smirked and a wicked thought popped into his head, "Since it looks like Lisa won't be going with me, how about you work for this ticket?"
"How so?"
Terry's eyebrow rose and he openly leered at her.
Lily shook her head and gave Terry a small smile, "Nice try, but you're not ready for this, kid." Lily laughed and walked out of the room.
Terry shrugged and thought that he had to take a shot. Although now that he thought about it, he had to convince Mrs. Norris to let Lisa go with him to France. Another thought flashed into his head. If this were indeed a trap of some sort, it wouldn't be a good idea to have Lisa along for the ride. Mrs. Norris would lose her mind if something else happened to her daughter. Terry sighed and thought of the millions of reasons why it wouldn't happen. Terry smiled and said to himself, "I'll have to take my best shot." The young man walked out of the room and went to his room.
End Flashback
After Terry thought about the letter, Terry nodded off. A small smile was on Terry's face. The smile was threatening to widen when Lily walked into the room and smacked him in the back of the head.
Terry woke up and yelled, "What the hell was that for?"
Lily replied in a sing-song voice, "Rise and shine, sleepyhead. We're going somewhere."
Terry drawled, "Where?"
Lily pulled out a blindfold and put it over Terry's eyes. Terry sputtered, "What are you doing?"
Lily smacked Terry again and said in a cold voice, "No more questions, mister."
Terry heard her voice change and decided not to try and antagonize her. Lily whispered, "Good boy. I know you have your wristband and your handle, right?" Terry started to answer, but Lily barked out, "Don't say anything. Just nod." Terry nodded.
"Good, now we're leaving and going somewhere. I order you to be quiet and to focus your mind on survival."
Terry nodded, thinking that Lily was enjoying this superior role a bit too much. Lily snapped, "Get up!" Terry pulled himself to his feet and stood. Lily smirked and led Terry out of the room. Lily and Terry exited Lily's quarters and got onto Lily's bike. Lily put Terry's helmet on and put on her own helmet. Terry wrapped his arms around Lily's waist. Lily sped off to the unknown destination.
Lily stopped in front of a large, abandoned warehouse. The strong smell of seawater filled the nostrils of both as Lily walked Terry in front of the warehouse. Lily smirked and walked into the warehouse. Lily yelled, "Take off your blindfold!"
Terry took off the blindfold and waited for more instructions. Lily said in a drill sergeant voice, "You have to get the flag at the exit of the warehouse, now go!" Terry shook as he thought about what happened the last time he was in a warehouse. Lily said, "Stop that and go NOW!" Terry resolutely stepped into the warehouse. Lily slammed the door behind him and locked it so he had no escape. Lily smiled slightly and decided to go around to the exit. She knew that Terry was still feeling some pain from his bodyguard's death and the hospitalization of Lisa and her mom. But he needed to go through this test to prepare him for the rigors of the Oritto Academy and to toughen him up a bit. If he was going to be a superhero, he had to know how to handle adversity.
Terry walked into the dank warehouse with a look of disgust on his face. Terry didn't want to deal with crap like this so soon, but he had no choice. Terry sighed and walked through the warehouse. He heard creaks and rats scurrying around. Terry continued to move through the warehouse with a feeling of dread. Terry took a step and screamed as the floor under his foot gave way. Terry's heart thumped in his chest as he scrambled back to safety and watched the wood splash into the ocean.
Terry walked around the hole and moved forward, passing various boxes and rusty machinery. From out of nowhere, robotic mouses charged at Terry. Terry pulled out his handle and closed his eyes. Terry's white energy blade came forth. A couple of mouses jumped into the air at Terry. Terry slashed them and destroyed in a fell swoop. Terry yelled and unleashed a furious assault on the rest of the mouses, hacking them to pieces. Terry smirked as he saw the wreckage of the mouses. Terry remarked, "That was pretty easy." Terry jauntily walked past the mouses and stepped onto a black spot on the ground.
The black spot glowed and exploded under Terry's feet. Terry flew into the air and smashed into a wall. Terry's lightsaber fell out of his hands as thick smoke floated into the air. Terry stumbled over to the glowing lightsaber, but he didn't see a black boot kick him hard in the face. Terry fell onto his back as a red lightsaber slashed through the smoke and slashed at him. Terry rolled out of the way of the lightsaber and grabbed his own saber. Terry met another slash of the lightsaber and pushed the saber wielder back. The smoke cleared as Lily charged Terry. Terry blocked Lily's attacks and tried to come back with some slashes of his own. Unfortunately, Lily was stronger than he was. Lily easily batted Terry's slashes aside and backhanded Terry in the face. Terry crashed onto a bunch of boxes. Lily jumped into the air and yelled, holding her lightsaber high in the air. Terry rolled aside, just as Lily brought her saber down on the boxes. Terry landed on his feet and slashed the boxes under Lily. Lily couldn't jump off the boxes fast enough and tumbled to the floor. Terry went to Lily and kicked her lightsaber out of her reach. Terry stood over Lily and gasped, "Who's the man now?" Lily smirked and kicked Terry in his groin. Terry's eyes crossed as he fell to the ground, clutching his private area. Lily grabbed her sword and put her arm around Terry's neck. Lily put the sword to Terry's neck and whispered in his ear, "You still have a lot to learn, youngster." Lily smashed the handle on the crown of Terry's head. Terry slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Terry groaned as he woke up on Lily's couch with a compress on his head. Lily watched him from her seat in the living room. The junior said brightly, "About time you got up."
Terry held his head and grumbled, "Did you have to hit me so hard? You could've given me brain damage or something."
Lily quipped, "Not with your hard head, cutie."
Terry glared at Lily as she continued, "You need to get better, Terry. You took care of the robots easily enough, but I was sure that you wouldn't have fallen for the smoke bomb on the floor."
Terry whined, "That was unfair, Lily!"
Lily snorted, "Of course it was. Besides you have to keep your eyes open at all times. I didn't even hide it that well. You were so sure that nothing else was going to kick your ass. Which leads me to your fighting skills."
Terry jumped in, "You gotta give me some credit there."
Lily shrugged, "You're a great defensive fighter, but you can't be on defense all of the time. I think we need to get you in the gym or something because there's no way that I should be strong enough to bat aside all of your attacks."
Terry looked at Lily's athletic body and said, "Lily, you're pretty cut. Don't sell yourself short."
Lily smiled, "Good answer. You're still below average."
Terry snapped, "Come on, Lily! I'm just getting started in this stuff."
Lily answered shortly, "That's no excuse for being so weak. I think your girl Lisa could take you out of a fight."
Terry bristled, "Like hell she could! I was the baddest mofo in school. Nobody messed with me."
Lily sniffed, "Which means the people you fought in Westport were punks."
Terry yelled, "Take that back!"
Lily drawled, "Make me!"
Terry jumped off the couch and tackled Lily. Terry put his hands on Lily's shoulders and shook her violently. Terry raised his hand in the air and started to backhand her with fire blazing in his blue eyes. Terry got off of Lily and shook with shame at the mere thought of backhanding a female friend, Terry whispered, "I'm sorry, Lily."
Lily smiled, "That's what I want to see out of you, Terry. I want to some fire out of you."
Terry shook his head, "What about Desu? He could come back and go crazy again."
Lily answered, "We'll find a way to keep Desu under wraps, put some muscle on your body and toughen you up."
Terry nodded as Lily ruffled Terry's hair. Lily laughed, "Take that frown off your face. You'll be fine." Terry wasn't sure if he was ready for this, but he would trust Lily to lead him in the right direction before going to Paris. Terry's eyes widened, "I just thought about Lisa. I wanted to talk to her and her mom about letting her come with me to Paris."
Lily shrugged, "Talk to her later. It'll be better that way."
Terry asked, "Why?"
Lily answered, "Because you can think of a dazzling sales pitch to get Lisa to come with you. Her mom hates what we had to do."
Terry sighed, "You're right."
Lily smirked slightly, "I'm always right, frosh. Now let's get something to eat."
Terry shook his head and the two went to the kitchen to get some food for the night.
Lisa Moore looked at her sleeping mother and sighed. She was glad that she was finally asleep. Her mom spent all of her time today trying to talk her into leaving Terry alone. Lisa smiled and thought that there was no way that she'd do that. Terry had been her friend since they were little and she would be there for him no matter what.
Lisa crept out of the bed, feeling a lot better. The doctors in this facility were top-notch. A nice man named Dr. Williamson told her that she and her mom would be free to go in another week. Lisa had a feeling that she and her mom would be transported to some facility out of town. She had to find out where Lily and Terry were so she could talk to him. Lisa slipped out of her room and crept through the hallway. Lisa heard voices in a room so she peeked into the room.
Lisa saw Dr. Williamson (tall, gray-haired man with light green eyes) talking to a short black haired man clad in a red armor-plated storm trooper suit. A black metal helmet with a red sight visor was under the crook of his arm. The man laughed at Dr. Williamson, "Are you serious, Doc?"
Dr. Williamson replied, "Yes, one of my patients yelled at me for kidnapping today."
Lisa knew they were talking about her mother. The stormtrooper shook his bald head and remarked, "Some people just can't accept help."
Dr. Williamson answered, "That's true. At least her daughter wasn't so angry."
The stormtrooper's black eyebrow rose in surprise, "Really."
The doctor replied softly, "Yes. She seems to be dealing with all of this a lot better than Mrs. Moore."
The stormtrooper asked, "So now what?"
Doc Williamson shrugged, "They'll be out of here in another week and put into a new community for their protection."
The stormtrooper sighed, "I usually help the transporting thing. I don't want to deal with a bitchy parent. Is the daughter cute?"
Doc Williamson answered sternly, "Too young for you, Daniel. She's 14."
Daniel kicked the floor in frustration, "Damn, I don't get to see many younger women on security detail and all that comes here is jailbait."
Doc smirked at his friend discomfort. Lisa heard this and felt her stomach plummet to her shoes. She really had to find out where Terry and Lily were.
Dr. Williamson decided to give his friend a glimmer of hope; "Maybe if you're lucky, you can see Lily come in here with her friend Terry Norris. Lily brought them in since they were caught in some problem involving Mr. Norris."
Daniel grinned, "Now there's a girl that's coming into her own and she's getting close to being legal. I mean have you seen the jugs on her?"
Dr. Williamson remarked coldly, "No, I've got a beautiful wife at home."
Daniel smiled slightly; "Yeah, but even you have to think about her once in a while."
Dr. Williamson blushed, "No, I don't."
Daniel laughed derisively, "Right. I wish that Lisa was closer to this hospital instead of all the way in the Sunrise Mountains."
Lisa grinned as she heard all that she needed to hear. Dr. Williamson and Daniel continued to talk as Lisa crept back to her room and thought about a good way to see Terry again.
End Ch. 6
I was hoping to at least have Terry in the school by now and have introduced some of his classmates and everything, but various things have combined to ruin that thought. I've had a lot of trouble getting my brain focused on this series with my subpar college career, a job I hate, and now a foster sister. On top of that stuff, I usually end up getting sidetracked by other writing ideas. However, I'm not going to give up on this series. I like what I've done so far and I think that this is some of the best writing I've done in my 2 plus years of writing for Fanfiction.Net and now FictionPress.Net.
As far as this chapter went, the fight between Terry and Lily was pretty good and I finally figured out how to get Lisa involved in what I plan to do for in the foreseeable future of this series. The next chapter will have Terry and Lily doing some more training stuff, Lisa's plan to leave the hospital and a new character with ties to Lily will be making an appearance. This character will set up some background information on Lily and also bring about a storyline arc for Lily beside her training deal with Terry.
. I have no clue when the next chapter of this series will be, but I'll say it again that I'm not giving up on this series. Bare with me on updates to this series.
I wish you all
Peace, love, and hair grease

The next chapter will have Terry and Lily doing some more training stuff, Lisa's plan to leave the hospital and a new character with ties to Lily will be making an appearance. This character will set up some background information on Lily and also bring about a storyline arc for Lily beside her training deal with Terry.
. I have no clue when the next chapter of this series will be, but I'll say it again that I'm not giving up on this series. Bare with me on updates to this series.
I wish you all
