"Jordan!" Aki called up the stairs into the QT dorm. "Get your sorry ass down here! We have a game in five minutes!" He paused only to hear Jordan's response, and wrinkled his nose when he didn't hear one.
"Jordan?" he called again as he pushed through the rest of the Quidditch team and headed up the stairs to find his friend. "This isn't the time to be playing games Potter!" A worried thought flashed through Aki's mind as he looked around at all the empty beds. It had been a week since he had sent Jordan's letter to Daimion, but there hadn't been any response. Since then Jordan had fallen into a deep depression and half the Quidditch team feared that the boy was going to hurt himself.
"Damnit Jordan! I'm not in the mood for this shit!" He was nearly yelling now, partly from fear and partly from anger.
"Aki! We have to go!" That was Niko who had called to him. With a heavy sigh Aki knew he couldn't tell the team that Jordan was missing. But the game would be hard without a captain to call the shots. Taking one last look around Aki ran back down the stairs, grabbed his broom and headed out onto the pitch.
Daimion laid on his back on the ground and stared at the stars in the sky above him. He hadn't been able to get away from Kalin long enough to send his lover a letter, and he knew that by now Jordan would be getting concerned. Tristan sat beside him, knees pulled up against his chest as he write on the small piece of parchment paper from his notebook. As Daimion spoke, Tristan wrote. It was easier this way. If Kalin ever found the note he would see it was Tristans writing and he would most likely figure that Tristan was in love with Jordan. In truth, Tristans love was directed to Daimion, but he would never tall the blonde that. Daimion had eyes only for Jordan, and Tristan wasn't going to ruin that.
"Just end it with 'I love you, always and forever'," Daimion told him. "Jordan knows not to expect my name on the letters. If I ever signed it, and Kalin found out, he'd…well…you know what he'd do." Tristan nodded and folded the paper neatly before slipping it into a envelope and addressing it to Jordan, care of Aki.
"Aki and I are being very careful Dai, don't worry about a thing. We won't let anything come between you two." Daimion smiled and shifted so his head rested on Tristans lap. The other boy had leaned back against a tree and had crossed his legs, giving Daimion a perfect pillow to rest his head on.
The game was a failure. Without their captain the Bretton Academy Quidditch Team had lost, 90 to 10. With groans of defeat the team slipped into the showers for a good long soak, mostly to drain away the pain of being beaten.
"So where in the hell is he Aki?" Niko demanded as he cornered the other boy against the lockers. The rest of the team loomed behind him.
"Yeah, we lost because of him!" Alec spoke up, taking a step forward to stand beside his twin brother. Aki swallowed and tried to get away, only to be blocked by the team beaters on both sides.
"Tell us now Aki," they all said, closing in around the boy.
"Alright!" Aki cried, shoving them back away from him. "Just give me some space damnit! I can't breathe with you all looming over me like that!" The team backed off and Aki slumped onto the bench, hanging his head.
"I couldn't find him. He's gone," he muttered, barely loud enough for anyone to hear him. In about the space of 0.001 seconds the team had started talking, panicking, and worrying. With Jordan gone they would lose all the rest of their games. Worse… with Jordan gone, they could lose their team captain.
