Chapter 1
"The Quest"
----------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------
People call me Wanderer. I don't have a name. I just wander from town to town seeking something. I don't know what I'm seeking, but I know I need to look for it.
-------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------
It was a quiet afternoon in the small village of Morgendorf. Nobody comes here and nobody leaves. You see the same old people ever day, and you have the same old routine. Nothing happens here. It's rare that you see somebody new. The village has only one tavern that was run by an old man who lived here has whole life. The tavern was in his family for generations and the only people that work there was him and his 20-year-old son, Apollo.
Only a couple of people there today. Two farmers, the local bank owner, and an old strange man, so Apollo was the only one working.
"So, what can I do you for?" Apollo said to the old man.
"One beer," He replied.
"Okay."
Apollo went to shelf and got a beer. He popped the top and gave to the man.
"What brings you to this dull town?" He asked as he always did to strangers.
"Looking for something." The old man replied.
"Whatever you looking for won't be here."
The door of the tavern opened and a boy of the age of 18 walk thorough it. You can tell he was part fairy from his pointed ears and his dark purple hair, which was spiked, had a touch of blue at the tips. He was wearing a light green shirt that was a size to big that hung over black bicycle shorts. The only thing with him was a sword which holder acted like a belt around his waist.
The boy walked to the bar and sat a down seat from the old man.
"What can I do you for?" Apollo said.
"Water, please." The boy replied.
"Okay."
Apollo took a glass from the shelf and pour some water from the tap in it.
"Here."
"Thanks."
The boy started to look around the room while he was drinking his water.
"So, what brings you to this dull town?" Apollo asked.
"I'm looking for someone." The boy replied.
"Who?"
"I don't know his name."
"What does he look like?"
"I don't know."
"Good luck founding him. What's your name boy?"
"Kismet."
Apollo started to laugh.
"What's so funny?"
"Who named their kid Kismet?"
"It means fate or destiny," said the old man, "He's part fairy. It's a common name with them."
"Oh. Hey, maybe he can help you, Kismet. He's looking for something, too."
"What?" Kismet asked to the old mad.
"I don't know." He replied.
"Interesting." Apollo said. He started to scratch his head. His short brown hair was so messy it looked like a blind person cut his hair.
"Yeah." Said the old man.
"I didn't catch your name." Apollo said.
"They call me, the Wanderer."
"You're the Wanderer." Kismet said in surprise.
"Yes."
"I been looking for you."
"I though you didn't know the name of the person you're looking for?" Apollo asked.
"I don't know the name to that person."
"But you said..."
"I'm also looking for him."
"You find me, so what do you want?" Wanderer said.
"I need your help. I'm looking for the true love of my queen, and the guardian said I can ask you for help."
"What?" Said Apollo.
"His queen is asleep for all eternity." Wanderer said.
"Why?"
"Because she cheated on her husband, the king, so he cast a spell on her."
"She didn't cheat. She is the symbol of all that's pure. She remained faithful to her king. My queen will never do anything like that." Kismet said in rage.
"That how I heard it."
"You heard wrong."
"How will you know? You're the one that's wrong. How was she faithful if she was caught in bed with a slave? I will not help you wake her up. She doesn't deserve it."
"My village is under attack by King Robert and she's the only one that can save us. What did she ever did to you?"
"She's the reason I am who I am."
"She has nothing to do with you. I will go on my quest alone."
"You will get yourself killed, and for what a slave?"
"I not looking for the slave. I'm looking for the king."
"Good luck finding him. I heard he die a long time ago."
"But his soul lives on in another, and I plan to find him."
(
"I want that boy stop." Said King Robert in his throne room. People thought of him as a mean, vicious, bloodthirsty monster, but actually he was the biggest baby you will ever see.
He was talking to his trusted adviser, Katie. She was actually the mean, vicious, bloodthirsty monster. She was a six years old girl, who was part-elf, but was a certified genius. She had blood red hair, and the bluest eyes you every seen. She wore all black. Black pants, black turtleneck, black combat boots, and a black cape with a hood.
"The boy is no problem to us." Katie said.
"NO PROBLEM! He is going to find the queen's true love."
"He won't be able to find him. He doesn't know what he looks like or even his name."
"But I afraid he will found him."
"If it makes you feel better, I send some Trolls after him."
"Really mean ones?"
"Yes, really mean ones."
"And really ugly?"
"And ugly."
"You're the greatest adviser in the world."
"Um...Universe."
"Oh yeah. The greatest adviser in the universe."
"You're too kind my highness."
"I want to see Knows-a-lot."
"Okay. Bring in Knows-a-lot."
Knows-a-lot was King Robert's jester. He was a year older than Katie, and was mean and evil like her. They got along quite well. They were both playing King Robert as a pawn in their plans.
"You wish to see me your highness." Knows-a-lot said as he bowed. He wore normal jester clothes with red and yellow stripes and had bells on his hat and shoes. He had long blonde hair, and he's right eye was yellow, and the left was red.
"Entertain us." King Robert said.
"As you wish."
(
"Why don't you want to come with me?" Said Kismet.
"I don't want to." Wanderer replied.
They were in the forest on the outskirts of the town. Kismet was bugging Wanderer for a day now and he was sick of it.
"Come on. My village needs help. Don't you care?"
"If I say yes, will you stop bugging me."
"Yes."
"Okay, I go with you, but on one condition."
"Anything."
"You won't bug me."
"Okay."
"Do you smell something?" He said as he sniffed the air.
Kismet started to sniff it to. "Smells like somebody having a bar-be-que."
"Look at the tavern."
"It's on fire. We need to help."
They ran to the tavern. When they got there, there was a 5 dozen of trolls dancing and chanting, "Fire burn the village to the ground, burn, burn, burn" and they well sprinkling fire dust everywhere.
"We got to stop them." Said Kismet as he pulled his beautiful sword from its holder. The sword blade was made out a long diamond with pictures of flowers craved in it, and the handle made out of pure gold with fairies and more flowers crave into it.
"The sword of the fairy queen." Wanderer said. He had heard about the sword and it's power. He knew now that he will help this boy on his quest, because only ones with a pure heart can handle that sword. "I will help you, young Kismet. I see your quest will be a great one and you'll need my help."
"Thank you, Wanderer."
"I haven't fought trolls in a long time. Let get them."
"Yeah!"
They ran to trolls.
"Sword of my queen, help me." Said Kismet. The sword began to grow brightly, blinded the eyes of the trolls.
(
Inside the tavern Apollo was trapped in a corner with fire all around him. Then, he grabbed a bow from the wall behind him.
"Arrow of water." He said as he pulled back his bow. Then an arrow appeared into his hand. He shot the arrow in to the middle of fire. A wave of water went everywhere, and stopped the fire.
"Arrow of earth." Then another arrow appeared in his hand and he shot it in the same place as the other arrow. Dirt went over the water and fire to put it out completely.
Apollo ran out of the tavern and to the street where Kismet and Wanderer were fighting trolls. Wanderer was fighting most of them with his wooden staff because Kismet was inexperience in all of this. He didn't fight much, because his village was always a peaceful one, so he didn't need to.
"Fire burn the village to the ground. Burn, burn, burn," The trolls kept chanted over and over again.
"Arrow of fire." Apollo said. He shot it in the middle of a group of trolls, and they caught on fire. "Guess who's burning now."
"Apollo, glad to see you okay." Kismet said.
"Watch out."
A troll was about to sprinkled Kismet with fire dust, but Apollo got him with an arrow of fire.
"Thanks." Kismet said.
"It's nothing. You'll do the same for me." Apollo replied.
"Guys, stop talking and start fighting." Said Wanderer.
The three of them fought off the trolls. There were died trolls everywhere and the streets were painted red with blood.
(
"WHAT? THE TROLLS WERE KILLED?" Said King Robert who was still in the throne room.
"Yes, your highness." Said Katie.
"Send in Snott."
"Yes, your highness."
A 13-year-old boy walked in the room. He was wearing a full officer uniform with King Robert's symbol on it. His hair was a dark blonde, but you can tell it was dried because his roots were brown was a mess, and you can smell he hasn't taken a bath in days.
"You want to see me, your majesty?" Said Snott.
"I want you to be in charge of the death of...uh...um... What was the name of the boy, Katie?"
"I think Kismet." Katie replied.
"Kismet? Who will give their son a name like that?"
"It's a popular name among the fairies."
"It figures. So Snott, I want you to kill this Kismet."
"Yes your majesty." Snott said.
(
"I think I have to go with you guys." Said Apollo.
"But what about the tavern?" Said Kismet.
"My dad can ran it. Besides, you guys need my help."
"We will gladly let you come with us, right Wanderer?"
"Whatever." Wanderer said.
"Let me get some things. I'll be back in a minute."
Apollo went into the half-burnt tavern. And in a couple of minutes, he came out. He was wearing a long, white buttoned up shirt that was buttoned all the way except the top button, black jean pants, and ankle high, black hiking boots. He also had a white saddle bag over his right shoulder that went across his crest to the left side of his thigh, and his bow on the opposite side.
"Are you ready?" Kismet said.
"More than ever." He replied.
"Than let's go."
Kismet, Apollo, and Wanderer started off their quest to find the true love of Kismet's queen. This was just the beginning of this story. More was yet to came.
