Lying awake in the frigid night
Aware of time ticking away
Sunrise is not too far away, a new day coming
Yet reliving momentary bliss
Over and over again
As the evidence fades away
Recalling the little gasps and moans
And cries from that sweet kiss-bruised mouth
The thrill of novice hands running experimentally over heated skin
Still captured and still a source of weakness
Washing lust through a rested body
And again making memories flesh
By reaching over and pulling close that other form from sleep
And the kisses, those touches, the melding skin contact
Carnal sensations flooding the senses until…
With an almost painful cry, complete abandon
Thoughts of being left behind or leaving behind come to mind
The tightening of the luscious body and grip
Silent begging for company and for warmth and love
And the tangle of arms and limbs as lovers sweetly slumber
Underneath the warmed and twisted covers.
