Fan Fiction ❯ Trancending Death ❯ One More Time ( Chapter 59 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
What the Hell? Why can’t I talk? Aurora wondered. It felt like her throat had contracted to a point that no sound could escaped it. She instantly remembered what had happened. When Rajah had tied her to this place, she was teetering on the brink of unconsciousness. He had then injected her with something, and Aurora now realized what it had done. Dammit, now that I can’t warn Alex...what’s going to happen?
Aurora’s answer came sooner than she would’ve liked. As Alex tried to stand after delivering his attack to Rajah, the smirk on his face instantly disappeared, replaced by shock and pain. Blood suddenly began to spurt from Alex’s chest. Alex fell to his knees and grabbed his chest in pain. Alex quickly reeled around to face Rajah. Anger contorted Alex’s features as he stood to face him.
“What’s wrong my Lord, not able to defeat a mere weakling such as myself?” Rajah announced, playing on Alex’s anger.
Alex didn’t say anything. He moved his hands from his chest and readied for another attack. “You know what? I’m going to enjoy tearing you limb from limb!”
Aurora’s eyes widened in shock the moment Alex moved his hands from his chest. At first she hadn’t realized what had happened, but now that she saw the wounds on Alex, she was afraid she knew what it was. The wounds on Alex’s body matched the same place that Alex struck at Rajah, but Rajah had no wounds to speak of. Rajah attacked Alex, instead of Alex attacking him? Is there anyway Rajah could really be that fast? He would’ve had to have seen Alex’s attack, dodge it, and attack Alex in the exact same pattern all within a fraction of a second. If Rajah really is that good, Alex just might be in trouble.
Alex’s previous wounds had already started to heal, but that mattered little to him. He had been humiliated by this low class demon, and he wanted revenge. Alex quickly turned around, backhanding Rajah with his fist. The moment he did, however, Alex got knocked backward as if he was the one who got hit. Alex didn’t wait for the chance to give Rajah another chance to attack. He quickly began stabbing into Rajah’s chest with his claws, as Rajah stood completely still. Before Alex realized what happened, another jolt of searing pain coursed through his body.
Alex fell to his knees. Blood dripped from his chest which looked as if it had been speared by a hundred swords. Rajah took advantage of Alex’s weakened stated, and performed a spinning roundhouse kick that connected with Alex’s head, sending him reeling backwards.
“Heh, if this is the best you can do, no wonder your friends all want you dead. No wonder you attacked the humans. Hell, if you’re this weak, what’s the point in your existence? Too bad your human had to die. I would’ve shown her what a real demon was like. Hey, that’s right! Wasn’t she going to have a brat of yours? Heh, good thing the kids dead. Better than having to live with a disgrace of a father like you.”
The pained look in Alex’s eyes brought tears to Aurora’s eyes. She could see a blizzard begin to form at the bottom of the mountain. The winds soon began to howl and Aurora realized that it was because of Alex’s emotions and his connection to the heart of this realm. When she looked back at Alex, he had once again masked his pain, this time replacing it with bitter hatred. Aurora felt a surge of energy and she instantly realized that Alex had just activated one of his crystals. From the way things had been going she figured it was either the crystal of speed or crystal of energy.
How in the Hell is he able to continuously be one step ahead of me? Something’s not right here. I’ve got to just plow through him though. Using the crystal of speed, there will be no way in Hell that he’ll be able to keep up with my movements. He’s so dead, he doesn’t even know it.
With that, Alex launched himself at Rajah once more. This time utilizing the crystal of speed, thus increasing his acceleration rate even further. Alex tensed his muscles, and in the blink of an eye he was once again behind Rajah. Aurora didn’t even see Alex move, much less see him attack Rajah. The only way she knew that Alex had done anything was the trail of blood that formed all around Rajah. For a second Aurora was filled with hope at the prospect that Alex had finally managed to catch Rajah of guard. Just as it seemed as if Aurora’s initial guess was correct, Alex fell to the ground in a pool of his own blood. Rajah turned around to face him, unscathed by Alex’s attempts on his life.
How the fuck does he keep managing to deflect my attacks? Something’s not right here? He can’t be that fast! But then how in the Hell is he still unharmed? I should’ve at least done some damage to him by now. It’s like he has a magic barrier or something around him, but I don’t sense that any magic has been used recently. Besides, there’s no way he could use magic. So fuck, just what in the Hell am I supposed to do?
Either Rajah is a Hell of a lot faster than he lets on, and simply saw Alex’s attack and countered it, or...please God, don’t let him have that!
Aurora watched with a newfound fear. She knew that I her guess was correct, not even the power of the Demon Lord could stand against Rajah. Rajah’s nicknames ran through her head. Rajah the untouchable, Rajah of the thousand blades. There had been rumors that no matter how many times you slashed at Rajah, he would never fall. Why didn’t I see this before? Alex is doomed unless he figures out what Rajah’s trick is.
“A valiant effort, my Lord, but no matter how hard you try, a weakling undeserving of his life or even love for that matter, could never hope to defeat me,” Rajah gloated. He raised his hand into the air and smiled venomously at Alex. “Now you will see why they call me Rajah of the thousand blades.”
Alex’s wounds, which spanned the entire length of his body and were deep enough to expose the bone, had not yet even begun to heal. He tried to move, only to have metallic objects, very similar to a spear, stab itself through Alex’s legs pinning him to the spot.
Alex roared in pain, but before he even got the chance to identify this new found pain, he heard the distinct whistling sound of wind rushing against metal. Alex instinctively looked up, just as the sky became filled with hundreds more of the metallic spears. Alex quickly turned and tried to yank the spears out of his legs, but the moment he reached for one another spear fell and pierced his hand to the ground. Alex let out another cry of pain as several more fell downward toward him.
“Good riddance my Lord,” Rajah muttered beneath his breath. He snapped his fingers and all the spears rained from the sky. The spears tore through Alex’s flesh, pinning him to the ground, and making him appear more like a human pincushion. Blood sprayed all around him. Spurting from the wounds that the jagged pieces of metal had made.
Aurora’s face was locked in a silent scream. Tears filled her eyes, and despite how gruesome the sight was, Aurora couldn’t force herself to look away. She couldn’t even see Alex’s face due to the large amount of spears that had become in lodged in Alex’s body. Aurora tried to swallow, but the lump in her throat wouldn’t allow her too. She stared dumbly at the spear ridden corpse of Alex, praying to God that what she saw before her wasn’t real.
Rajah looked at Aurora’s expression and broke out into a grin. “That my dear, is what you call a fatality. Now, to hold up my end of the bargain. Time to have some fun with you.”
Aurora finally managed to look away from Alex’s body, and into the lust filled eyes of Rajah. She tried to squirm away from him, but the more she moved the tighter her restraints became. Rajah only laughed at her plight, even as he began to undo his pants. Aurora looked away from him, unable to bare the sight of him. When she looked away, she saw something that made her eyes light up with joy.
Rajah noticed her sudden change of expression and quickly asked. “What the Hell are you so happy for?”
Even as Rajah spoke, he felt a hand clamp onto his shoulder and spin him around. Alex’s fist collided with Rajah’s face, sending him careening into the air. “This!” Alex shouted.
Aurora looked on in awe. Alex had transformed into his demonic form after the spears had stabbed into him. She could tell that by his spike in demonic power, he had also activated the crystal of energy which greatly increased his healing factor. Even though many of the spears were still lodged in his body, those that remained were being broken in half as Alex’s body healed itself.
Alex wiped the blood from his lips, feeling part of his face go numb from where he felt like he had just been hit. This is fucked up! I’m having to use this much power on a punk like him? I’ve got to think this through. Something’s not right. I’ve got to figure out what he’s doing. Okay, so physical attacks won’t work on him. Time to try some magic ones!
Alex watched as Rajah began to descend from his fall, right before he hit the ground Alex ran beneath him. Alex quickly spun around, crouching as he did so only to come up with his right foot and have it slam itself, right under Rajah’s chin. The force of the blow sent Rajah back into the air, but it caused Alex to feel as if his head was about to disconnect from his shoulders.
Fuck, that attack nearly rattled my brains. All my attacks are being sent right back at me with the same force that I inflict upon him.
Alex didn’t wait for the sensation of pain to leave him before he launched himself into the air. Even as he was ascending closer to Rajah, he was already casting his spell. “Tengoku shinsei hono'o!”
Fire erupted from Alex’s hands sending a searing flame straight toward Rajah. Rajah saw the flame and began to twist his body in mid-air. The flames collided with Rajah’s back, but the one that started yelling was Alex. From where she sat, Aurora could see that Alex’s back looked as if it had just been hit with fire. The skin looked melted off, exposing his raw flesh and bones. The sight of it nearly caused Aurora to nearly throw up.
Rajah launched himself at Alex, flipping right before he reached him. The heels of Rajah’s feet came slamming down onto Alex’s head, sending Alex crashing toward the ground. Alex landed face first in the ground right beside Aurora. Alex barely managed to get up, spitting blood out of his mouth as he did so. He knew then that he was royally fucked unless he did something. He tried to stand, but his legs felt to weak to even do that. Despite the pain that his body was feeling, he still felt a slight pain in his ribs from where someone had just kicked him.
Alex quickly reeled around to face his new attacker, only to see the worried face of Aurora staring back at him. Even though Alex didn’t realize why she had just attacked him his anger partially subsided when he saw her motioning toward a symbol she had drawn in the sand. It took Alex’s mind a second to register the symbol but once he did his eyes widened with realization.
Alex looked up at Aurora and quickly asked. “Are you sure about this?”
Aurora quickly nodded in reply.
“Fuck, I can’t believe I didn’t realize it before. Still, I have to be sure of this. If you’re right there might be a way that I can defeat him,” Alex informed her. With new found resolve and strength, Alex stood up and confidently walked toward the waiting form of Rajah.
